Today I came across a Genuine lego Padme figure. her hair confused me as it had
no lego stamp or even a copywrite symbol. it just had the letter 2 inside. I
posted on a lego forum for help and someone was able to check their genuine purchased
set and confirm the hair is genuine lego and is the same with only the letter
2 inside. i would love to start a discussion identifying Genuine lego pieces
that may be misidentified as fake due to not being stamped with the word lego
anywhere.

Have a search here for terms like 'fake' or 'logo' and you will
find many a discussion on this topic. It is a very commonly held misconception
that all LEGO parts have a logo, they don't.

Good luck,
Jen

That would be a very, very long discussion. Many parts don't have the logo,
including lots of older minifig headgear and accessories -- and some don't
even have the mold number, like old 4L bars and other small-and-skinny parts.
However, clone parts are almost invariably identifiable by the quality of the
plastic, the location of the pip, or the color shade. And fortunately, even marginally
passable clones of official parts are not nearly as common as less-experienced
collectors tend to think they are.

And if you're still not sure just post a photo here, someone will very quickly
give you an answer.
