| Dear WalterTheWalrus,
The following item (lot) has been deleted from your inventory because it did
not comply with our Item Listing Policy:
--------------------------------
Reason: Item is a clone, replica, photocopy, modified element, or is counterfeit
Lot Number: 273608680
Description: Trans-Yellow Minifigure, Head (Plain) - Hollow Stud
(snip)
For the second time in a few days, some minifig heads were removed from my inventory
because BL states they don't exist in that color, hence they are fake.
Instead, they are just listed under the wrong head variant (hollow stud instead
of the newer vented stud). This is mildly infuriating, couldn't they give
me at least the benefit of the doubt and formulate it as "please check this item
as it appears to be non-existing in that item/color combination"?
Is this happening to you guys too?

There's been a lot of clone bricks on BrickLink lately, particularly minifigure
parts in rare and transparent colors. BrickLink seems to have taken the policy
of deleting all listings for these parts, even if they are legitimate.

Erm, it's a bit misleading.
They aren't legitimate (as per BL's Terms) because they weren't produced
through the regular channels/procedures/contractors of LEGO.
The fact some may have been made in LEGO factories is another story..

I was referring to elements produced under the authorization of the LEGO Group.
But yes, parts produced by TLG employees without authorization are also prohibited.

This is indeed a side effect of a larger effort to remove fake parts that have
flooded the market:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1322014
We are trying VERY hard to only remove the problem colors and leave the authentic
listings alone. However, because the fake listings permeated the subparts and
variants - even old variants like 3626a:
we are having to weed our way through every variant and strictly enforce the
mold types. The Trans-Yellow color you mention was listed under all 4 head variants,
but it really should only be 3626b or 28621:
[p=3626b]
[p=28621]
If you have a different variant in Trans-Yellow, please contact me directly and
I'll ask you some questions about the origin of your stock.
