| I have used the button to issue a refund a few times on an order. However, now
I have a customer that wants the money asap and has issued a paypal claim on
the order. How long does it take for Bricklink to refund the $5.53 through paypal?
Is there a page somewhere on Bricklink that explains the procedure so I can
direct her to it?
thanks

| BrickLink doesn't handle the refund because they never actually have the
money, PayPal is the one responsible for returning the money. According to PayPal:
for purchases made with your credit or debit card, the refund can take up to
30 days to show up on your account. If you bought the item using your bank account
or PayPal balance, the balance will be credited to your PayPal account. Funds
can take three to five days to arrive in your account. Here is a link from PayPal
that explains it better.

Not quite. For onsite Paypal payments, BrickLink is actually the "facilitator".
Any payment done through onsite PP is under control of BL. This is how BL is
able to siphon off the taxes part. Since BL has control over these payments,
they can also initiate a refund.
So you are correct in that BL doesn't have the money, but you are incorrect
in claiming they therefore can't handle a refund. They most definitely can.
Niek.

Forgot - to add to this, you should refund through BL if there were taxes
involved, so BL can refund the tax part as well (otherwise the seller would have
to pay back the tax part).

| Correct, I must not have explained it well. I just meant BrickLink doesn't
have the actual money that needs to be sent back to the Buyer.
