Hi, I need urgent assistance on an order.

Here is the situation: the buyer paid for the order, and I shipped it but then
they filed for a chargeback with their bank the same day I shipped it out. The
buyer is suspicious as they also have a negative feedback from another seller
who seems to have an issue with this buyer too.

Right now, I am unable to retract as my parcel was posted. And PayPal has withheld
the payment from this buyer pending review, which I've submitted all relevant
documents hoping the chargeback will be denied.

There is nothing I can do now. The buyer doesn't even respond to my email
through the messaging system here. I can't file for NPB, I can't cancel
the order, I can only leave a negative feedback but I will be charged BrickLink's
fees as the order cannot be cancelled. Please help, as this is unfair to sellers
who might have faced buyer fraud like I did.

I hope BrickLink will be able to void or do something about this order. I already
lost my item to the buyer as it's been shipped out, in addition to PayPal's
fees I had to absorb. I hope BrickLink will be able to do something about the
fees on this order.

Hoping for some advice on how to proceed.

If the order is ultimately refunded through PayPal, you can mark it as refunded
here on BrickLink, set the Payment Status to None, and then cancel. At least
that is my understanding. I've definitely cancelled an order that was already
shipped in the past (it was lost by USPS).

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried clicking on Issue Refund on the invoice, and
it took me to the next page stating there's a discrepancy with the figure
and requested me to issue a $0.01 to the buyer. But before I do that I need to
know, if I proceed with this then will the payment be confirmed as a refund to
the buyer? But I wouldn't want to refund it as I'm being cheated. Or
should I wait for PayPal to review the chargeback before issuing a refund here?
It's been 2 days and no update on the review so I'm really anxious.

I would wait for the PayPal review before doing anything.

There's a possibility PayPal will force the buyer to send the item(s) back
as well.

I took some time off of here to clear my thoughts before I do anything else,
and I've decided to just do what you suggested here, just wait. Very good
to hear that it's possible to get it back, but I doubt the buyer even used
a real address at this point. Anyway, thanks for the replies and wish me luck!

If the PayPal money is refunded, I would recommend that you complete the steps
for a Non-Paying Buyer (NPB). I takes a little bit of time (but you are already
out the $ and item), but it protects you from a Negative and places a mark against
the buyer (3 strikes and they can't buy).

Have you tried to contact the post office to have your parcel returned? It isn't
gone until it's in the hands of the buyer.

Yes but the item's posted on Saturday and the post office was closed on Sunday
so there's no one I could contact to intercept it. I even went to the hub
at the airport to enquire if my parcel's still here but it was too late.
By the time I went back to the office on Monday, it's already arrived at
the international hub and there's no tracking number for it, as the buyer
said they don't need tracking. Guess I missed the red flag as I'm new
to selling here. I've accepted it as a loss but I hope I can at least do
something about BrickLink's fees.

Bricklinks fees are 3%. If you've accepted that you have lost the item, the
fees are minimal in comparison and not worth the effort. Learn from it, that
tracking / delivery confirmation is for the seller and not the buyer. Although
even that won't necessarily help if the buyer claims the card was used fraudulently.

Thanks for the reply. I took some time off of here to think, came to accept that
it's not my fault to lose over $200 as the world is full of awful people.
I'll just wait for PayPal's review before doing anything else. Wish me
luck!
