| I am always surprised how large the Modulex range of numbers, symbols and letters
was. Everything was available in various sizes and colors. It is difficult to
keep track of it all

The company Modulex still exists and was/is one of the largest companies for
information signs, door signs and organization boards including accessories.

| You're right! I was not aware that Modulex still exists. However, I knew
that Modulex had done building descriptions before, because I had found old product
catalogs.

I found a small lot of these numbered heaters in a Modulex collection some time
ago. Made of metal and wood (corpus) and painted in Mx Pastel Green (really the
same color).
I'm still wondering about the history behind...

I can hardly believe that Lego once made these perforated foils and adhesive
strips. There was a cutter and a comb to cut them and press them onto the boards.

These parts were made for architects and modelers. The size of the bricks is
to scale. This makes it possible to build in a certain scale.
It is also said that Godtfred Kirk Christiansen came up with the idea of the
bricks when he was planning a new production hall.

Modulex was also used for production and data center planning.

| The article on connecting to regular LEGO is interesting. I remember trying
to solve that problem when I built my Disneyland Fire Station. I wanted to use
some of the Modulex numbers on the front door, due to size. That was when I was
trying to be "purist". Now I would probably just make a custom sticker.
But I do want to use some of the Modulex pink that I have when I make the Castle,
as the shades are more varied giving a look that is closer to the shades on the
real Disneyland Castle.
