Hey guys,

I was wondering. I'm looking into making some Space Police MOCs and upload
them to the Stud.io gallery. Normally, this would mean that, due to this being
a Lego brand, one wouldn't be able to download it. However, the trademark
has been cancelled since 2001. Now, I'm not going to do a 1-on-1 colour scheme;
I'd imagine that still has some value. But would it be OK if I at least called
it Space Police?

Are you sure it's cancelled? They just released a Space Police CMF last year

As far as I can tell, yes.
1: TM cancelled: https://alter.com/trademarks/space-police-73810856
2: Nothing found on EUIPO: https://euipo.europa.eu/eSearch/#basic/1+1+1+1/100+100+100+100/space%20police

This conversation is absolutely fascinating! The real question isn't if
you 'would' be able to download it, it is if BL/TLG will 'ALLOW'
you to download it. As the owner's of the site they can squash your argument
with the click of a button and since they have ultimate control there is nothing
you can do about it.

If previous complaints from other members about MOC's being blocked from
download is anything to go by, there is no chance in *e** of your design being
allowed through.

In the end, that's all that matter eh? Oh well, I had a backup name already
done so Cosmos Cops it'll be!

I don't think it matters whether the trademark is still active or not. It
is not official Space Police and so they will not want you using "Space Police"
as a name on a site where that name has a specific meaning. However, you might
get away with "Police in space".

There's a valid point there. Cosmic Cops it is!

Cosmic Cops sounds much better than Space Police too.

Hmm... My original idea was Cosmos Cops apparently; that's what I named the
file. I could probably still change it though...
