Is this something I missed? I have a nominal change on my PayPal account for
Shipstation that is not related to any label. Is this some sort of fee they
are charging?

I saw that too, like $8?

I canceled it but was still allowed to use the site, so I am confused as well

What date did that charge come thru? I have no extra charges like that, so I
want to watch for it.

I saw it on my paypal feed the day I changed over. I checked my "subscription"
auto payment page and there was suddenly shipstation. I an only guess I clicked
through their sign up pages too fast.

I spent a bit of time trying to figure out if I was getting charged for Shipstation
to no avail, but I did see this message;

"You can now purchase discounted shipping labels for both USPS and UPS with your
free account."

It does note FREE account

If they are charging, the basic plan begins at $9/month for up to 50 labels.

I did predict something like this could happen ...

Mine was $2.22, but with no indication as to what it was for. I opened a case
with PayPal to contest it, but, of course, they sided with Shipstation. The
amazing thing was that the entire process was completed within a couple of hours
and PayPal immediately (I can tell by the time stamp on the email) terminated
the shipstation billing agreement--this was before the case review was even
finished. Some automated process seems to terminate billing agreements whenever
a complaint is made about shipstation.

Like you, I can still log into Shipstation and set up labels. I'll try to
actually purchase one tonight.

That may be because subscriptions are digital goods, instead of physical goods.

Yes I had a charge as well, for $1.85 (maybe based on amount you use the site)
and I didn't understand what it was for either.

I didn't receive it for the prior month and there was no notification from
Paypal that when they made this change that there would now be additional fees.

I may change mine to another service, and I will check with Paypal to see if
I can terminate the contract.

Since Paypal decided to switch people over to ship station we should have been
told about the additional fees.

From the Paypal FAQ:
What costs are associated with the ShipStation platform?
There are no subscription fees to use ShipStation through your PayPal account,
you only pay for the cost of the shipping labels.

So it should be free apparently.

That's what I understood as well. I'm guessing they add an extra service
on "sign up" that they hide pretty easy. Kinda like I still have to dodge the
"sign up for prime" when I use amazon and twice now I've found out I've
somehow been signed up and had to cancel.

If you go to the Paypal help section and search for Shipstation you will find
it.

I don't have that platform here in Spain, but seeing each of you got a different
charge, maybe the amounts could be underpaid postage labels.

Good Thought! That might indeed be the case. I have heard from my PostMaster
that USPS has ramped up the process for scanning and checking weights on packages
and that they are actively back charging for underpaid shipping costs. Another
possibility might be if insurance was requested... they process that differently
on Stamps and may process it differently on ShipStation.
