I am impressed as well. Can we please have a link to the article.
My gut tells me that there is more there than 67,000 pieces in that work of art,
but willing to be wrong.

It's what the artist himself claims at least. This (I think) is the first
Instagram post revealing the finished build last year: https://www.instagram.com/p/CIYN_3Ppck5/
Similar parts total to his earlier Imperial Rome build, but dwarfed by this year's
114k piece 1st Century Jerusalem display!

67,000+ (~1,300 unique) - I read that as at least 67,000 pieces, likely more.
Still impressive though.

| It's a micro scale model, so I'm not surprised about this relatively
low part count.

Micro-Micro.
If you zoom in and look around that square in front of the chapel is ~18x19 and
all of the windows are 1x1 headlights turned around. Small scale, but then again,
a LOT of 1x1's.

Which is cool, in it's own way, that you can achieve that overall scale with
1x1 elements. I noticed that too, but not at first. It was only later that I
saw a few exposed studs, which gave me a better grasp of the scale.

That picture is the most interesting creation I have ever seen built from Lego.
47 years of an interest in Lego, that is the most fantastic.

For those interested in upscaled architectural MOCs in micro build fashion, checkout
some of Brian's stuff: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1196993
Haven't heard from him lately around here, so you'll need to do your
own searching: Brian of DagsBricks: https://www.bricklink.com/feedback.asp?u=DagsBricks
Last I heard, he had big projects in the works. Maybe this post will get him
to chime back in with an update
