| I have hundreds in dbg as that is the most common color and the ends all look
like the lbg axle you have pictured. There is almost what looks like a ridge
right at the end. Now, That doesn't mean that the black and white are fake.
They do not look like any I have seen though. -Andy A&R Brick

| I have a white one in some used parts I bought from a local store when I first
got interested in Lego again a few years ago. It matches the one in your photo,
with a 'seam' line along its length. Interestingly I have a DBG one in
the same pile which also has that line, rather than the 'cap' of your
DBG one (and all my newer ones).
Of course mine could be fake as I have no idea of the original source, but I'm
fairly certain all the other parts I got there are genuine. It's another
data point at least, and does make me wonder whether the moulds changed for these
at some point.
