I created a custom part in Part Designer, and I'm toying with the idea of
getting the piece 3D printed. Has anyone found a good material that will approximate
the smooth finish of LEGO? What about color matching? If anyone has a recommendation
of a particular business that is good at doing this, I'd appreciate that,
too.

abs can be smoothed afterword's. Past that i'm not sure how to make a
reproduction. 3d printing is a process of stacking layers which is much different
looking than a molded item (like lego)as you can probly imagine. You can make
3d printed lego's but, I don't think they will look the part as your
looking for. Not an expert, I do have an Ender-3 that I use almost daily..
