Dear fellow BrickLinkers,

Had a couple of purchases today below my set minimum buy. My store minimum buy
is at 70SEK but for buyers outside Sweden (EU/Rest of the World) I have a higher
minimum buy (changed via the shipping alternative) which buyers twice today has
overriden without password.

I offer instant purchase but instead of purchase their order is simply ordered
for invoice, without them knowing the S/H costs. I tried with a friends account
to place an order below the minimum buy for that shipping alternative but without
luck.

How have they done it and how can I fix it? Had it since the start but today
is the first time it's at fault. No big deal but I am curious...

Regards

Don't know. But I ran a test, and was unable to circumvent your minimum buy...

Thank you for your time and effort popsicle. I must have been unclear - none
of the purchases was below store minium for 70 - but both were below the minimum
buy for that shipping alternative (USA / EU) - could you please try to simulate
a purchase a bit higher than 70 (shipping to EU have minimum buy 100 and rest
of the world 200).

Still unable to circumvent your minimum buy. As shown in the two screenshots

Thanks again popsicle,

The plot somehow thickens how some could be able and still order for invoice
when you couldnt. Hopefully it wont occur again (see Emporosias message) although
I will never understand the mystery of how the purchases could go through in
the first place.

I read Sarah's post, she's a kind and very smart member.

Let us know if there's more we can help with.

With this swift and kind help, I most certainly will. Thank you.

I think I solved my end of the mystery - both of the orders had items that due
to volume-bound or other couldn't generate a shipping cost. Thought I have
gone through them all but they just keep turning up. Probably that's why
they could override.

Interesting...
We shouldn't have seen this minimum buy notice. As we're outside of
Sweden, the notice should have been that we didn't meet your SEK 200 limit.

I just tried it as well. With an item of SEK 65, I got the same notice.
With an item of SEK 70, I was able to order, but with S&H to be determined.
With an item of SEK 125, I was able to order, but with S&H to be determined.
With an order of over SEK 200, I was given a shipping cost as well.

The two items I used were Santa Vader and Dr Doom. I was able to order each
separately without being shown a shipping cost, and when added together it gave
a shipping cost.
I tried several items, so I don't think it's due to volume-bound or similar
issue, as when added together those items gave a shipping cost.

The order sheet will give you the shipping method used. This can help you narrow
down which shipping method is giving you trouble.

You should have at least three shipping methods:
1. Sverige
2. EU
3. Rest of World (ROW)

take a look to ensure that you don't have a country in more than one shipping
method.

"Just as I thought I was out, they pulled me back in!"

Hello Johan and thank you for your time and effort.

None of the those you tried, as you say, are volume-based. I kept "Backup for
Instant Checkout" active but clicked it off now so you probably cant override
now with the same procedure? Still strange that popsicle couldnt and you can
order doing the same thing.

That leaves me with the obvious problem that no one can order if a lot are volume-based
but fixes the problem that no one cant circumvent my restrictions.

I have four shipping alternatives:

1. Sverige
2. EU (untracked)
3. EU (tracked)
4. International (all other countries)

2 and 3 have the same countries, but no country from 2/3 are listed in 1 and
4. The two orders I got yesterday were from EU (can choose between 2 and 3) and
US (only option 4).

Sorry for spamming the thread and forum.

Jbroman, me asking you to try again in the previous message is now unnecessary
- I have now set the same minimum buy for all, yorbrick made a good point. I
would like to thank you all for helping (and trying) me although the true mystery
never was revealed. Take care all. Cheers.

I've had this problem when attempting to have a higher min amount for specific
shipping profiles.

What happens is you have a setting that checked that allows people to have manual
invoicing if they don't match an IC profile. So for this person, they're
above your store-wide min amount, but they don't match one of the IC shipping
profiles because they're under the minimum amount for it for their country
(based on the way you set it up). So it's defaulting to the manual invoicing.
There is no way around this unless you turn off the option of manual invoicing
for your store for those who don't match an IC profile.

Thank you Emporiosa. Found the setting under Management. Tried it with a friends
account and swedish buyers could still order manual/for invoice and see S/H costs
at checkout so all good.

Had a US customer that have to pay 170% more in shipping than ordered amount
and figure it will be lots and lots (relatively speaking, not what you would
say a power-seller ) of cancelled orders.

Cheers!

You can only have one minimum buy price, which is advertised to buyers.

You can of course try to stop those buyers that meet your advertised minimum
buy price from checking out by removing the ability to checkout. That will get
you questions about why can I not checkout or your store least favourited as
buyers waste time in your store, meeting your advertised limitations but then
get prevented from buying by hidden limitations.

You make an excellent point yorbrick, although I am more curious in why some
are allowed to circumvent, others don't.

Obviously it's a big difference between domestic customers where the shipping
costs are low and buyers from other continents which affect the minimum buy,
especially since PayPal charge including shipping and then it does not make it
worthwile having low minimum buy for international customers. Its too bad the
store only lists the store min buy when you first visit (who read the terms anyway),
and not the higher linked to your country if you as a seller choose to have a
higher min buy for some customers.

The minimum buy is displayed all the time in the grey bar. You cannot choose
to have a different minimum buy for some customers. What you are choosing are
different minimum order amounts for your different shipping methods. That is
a slightly different thing.
