This item is so rare and expensive!
It seems that it has been replaced by a 3 and 2 finger system, maybe because
more robust?
What do you think about replacing two entire missing hinges by the more recent
3/2 ones on a 8848 technical set from 1981 that is missing the box (instructions
OK originals) and some item bought used in 2021?

Looks like the 3-finger/2-finger ones are listed as alternates on that set so
you should be OK replacing. Of course you're always OK for personal use,
but it looks like you can make the replacement and still list the set as complete.
I would put it in the description, but I don't think you have to.

Thank you, that is clear.
