I have submitted a request from a problematic member whom has in the past put
bogus orders in my store. This would be bogus attempt # 7. They have repeatedly
setup bogus accounts using different emails and usernames, but always use the
same name and address, so it's easy to spot this bogus buyer.

Anyway, historically, every time it has occurred, I've submitted a Problem
Member Report and requested the two profiles be merged. Typically I'd get
a really fast response that the profiles got merged within the same day. I could
then go ahead and cancel out the order, knowing full well there's no intention
of it getting paid. This time around however, I've submitted a request
that has been pending for 6 days now. I sent in a second request for it and
also a helpdesk ticket, but there's been radio silence to everything I've
submitted.

Is this function now broken/ignored? If so, buyers can just forego administration
and make bogus accounts if they get banned on one account.

It is so sad that BrickLink has come to this. More and more posts like this
one. It is a terrible thing to do to Brinklink's customers. What could be
a new beginning might be the beginning of the end.

As has been repeatedly said, Bricklink is operating on a shoestring right now
because of the TRANSITION. Several people had already left the company last
year and now the volunteer admins are on hiatus awaiting how TLG is going to
handle them. As far as we know, Russell is the only person working there right
now and he's doing everything. It shouldn't be a surprise that he isn't
keeping up with everything. But it is no signal that Bricklink is falling apart.

That is why I used the words "could" and "might."
My biggest fear is the catalog and what Lego might do to it. Lego has never
been interested in its history or its catalog. Lego has no records of what Samsonite
sold, what was in the early sets, parts inventories, different molds, and poor
customer service relating to old sets (4 or 5 years old.) The work by the admins
and the members could be lost forever.

The forum is at peril. Lego has cared very little about what customers have
to say. There is negativity here, questions rightly raised, that Lego might
not tolerate. The decision might be prorogued until the site gets buried in Lego's
official site.
The listing of current sets, inventories, catalogs might also no be tolerated.
They would not help with listing instructions that were newer than 2 years old.
They would not allow them to be copied because of copy rights.

So far, Lego has done nothing to help with the backlog of catalog changes or
fixes to all the bugs. It might be too soon, but the site languishes waiting
for this.
The 3%, 2%, 1% fees might be a thing of the past. This is probably chump change
to Lego. They could look at ebay with listing fees and a 10% fee when something
is sold.

A large enterprise that gobbles up a smaller one usually has the smaller one
looking like the large one, not the other way around.

We will have to wait to see if this is the beginning of the end, or a new beginning
with a stronger one with more customer service. As I have said before, each
change in ownership has left us with a site with more problems than what the
previous owner's site.

Hmm, I believe I remember Russell talking about new people being trained for
the Help Desk a few months ago. It was in an answer about the new seller queue.

   and he's doing everything.

On the forum side for sure.
Though, there have been a couple messages from other admins recently (Admin_Rachel
for example).

It seems signal or no signal doesn’t prevent people claiming either way.

Wow for someone to go to the trouble of setting up 7 different accounts just
to be able to place bogus orders in your store they really must have a grudge
against you? Either way its sounds like they need to find something more meaningful
to do with their life?

I totally don't get why someone would do that to you over and over again.
Just harrassing you?

Most likely harassment, no idea why they decided to continuously seek me out
- I never was provocative in dealing with them, most times I simply ignore them
and request a merge. They're easy to recognize - their name isn't a common
one so I recognize it every time.

Also, it isn't like it's been happening once a month, it's been since
2015. Every few months or a year passes and this buyer shows up on a new fake
account again and puts in an obvious bogus order (uses a random different currency
on checkout and always picks to pay in cash). I have fans of my store in all
types - wonderful repeat buyers, and then a weird obsession like in this case.

I can understand things being delayed with a transition in place, and delayed
is acceptable, but a complete standstill is another thing.

It's been addressed and I'll take care of things on my side and close

We are all operating in an echo chamber. I don't know how long we wait for
the tons of issues that need attention but it seems it may be for some time.

Since I setup IC, and got rid of all manual invoicing, this problem has pretty
much gone away. I understand that some sellers cannot do that tho. Forcing the
member to make payment along with creating an order clears the deck real fast.
