So, the other day I posted BUYER WANTS TO PAY OFFLINE, because I got a weird
vibe. So this morning I received an email from BrickLink that the member was
terminated. I guess that will teach me a lesson not to accept offline payments!

You were informed that there's nothing wrong with manual PayPal (offsite)

Couldn't have put it any better myself. Absolutely nothing wrong with offsite
payments whatsoever - long may they continue.

Third thread in a few days about people not liking offsite payments. Seems it's
in fashion, though I have no idea why.

Obviously there WAS something wrong, otherwise BrickLink wouldn’t have sent me
an email that he was terminated.

There was something wrong with THIS buyer.
But there’s nothing wrong with PayPal offsite.

In my experience, users attempting to completely circumvent the BL ordering process
get that termination. The termination is not of itself related to an offline
payment request. Again - there is nothing wrong with paying offline, I have after
all, paid more than 600 orders in that manner with never a problem as far as
the actual payment goes.

I believe you are misunderstanding what has happened. There was something wrong
with the buyer not the payment method. I am sure if you ask Bricklink nicely
they will confirm that. I repeat there is absolutely nothing wrong with offsite
payments whatsoever - over 7000 processed in nearly 9 years and not 1 problem.

Do you know whether the terminator killed them directly or killed their mother
before they were born?

That made me think: When Schwarzy retires, will he become an ex-terminator?

If you like tractors, you should never give up. Otherwise you become an extractor
fan.

(Doubly funny when thinking about… well, let’s say a certain scene of “Airplane!”
)

I used both offline and online payments many times as a buyer. Essentially no
difference. Maybe one small difference: With online payments I seem to get a
higher frequency of transactions that need to be confirmed by the recipient of
the payment (that lovely yellow circle with the exclamation mark). Seems to have
something to do with currency conversions I have been told. The exact way how
it works is not fully clear to me however.
