Hi gang!

We all know TLG makes parts in colours that are not generally available to the
public (mostly due to the model shops that build for the LEGOland parks) and
that TLG have made a load of prototype parts that either never went into production
or did much later (as much as 20 years later, afiak) but somehow that lot got
out to the public anyway ..

I'd like to think of myself of a bit of a know-it-all on that subject

Nothing new in that

I have however, never seen a rare late 80's/early 90's part that only
came in limited sets, being offered here in a post 2004 colour, in vast amounts
to boot, from just one seller that's not located in the EU

I find that rather odd?

This part in light bluish grey :

Part No: 2426c01 Name: Technic Rack Winder
*
2426c01 (Inv) Technic Rack Winder
Parts: Technic

What do you all think?

Cheers,

Ole

Why not buy one, and determine for yourself as to whether it is genuine? (because
it's a Chinese seller, doesn't mean that the part is a LEPIN clone...)

I don't think LEPIN is going to make a lightbley 6990, however they did "make"
Cafe Corner so who knows? Anyway, the parts are gone now

Cheers,

Ole

Interesting one, might be worth asking for some photos, might throw some light
on it.

At the time of my post, they were showing up as sold. Now that sale is gone,
presumably because the order was canceled.

I still think it's an odd mistake to make. That part was never made in any
kinda grey. Nor do I think it would be made by LEPIN or whatever as it's
old as me

But thanks Stacey for taking one for the team

You rock!

Luv,

Ole

That perhaps someone entered the incorrect part number when adding items to the
inventory and failed to notice the mistake.

Anytime I see something odd and grey is involved that usually solves it for me.

but in this case the seller location does.

Here's a similar situation: I was looking for a common part in an uncommon
color. It appeared in a single set: a SW buildable figure set. No stores on
my side of the Atlantic had it, but a store in Eastern Europe had hundreds of
them. I managed to find the SW set on clearance at Walmart, but I was puzzled
by the situation'

That's probably the place of manufacture of that particular part, as we know,
Denmark is no longer the sole manufacturing country
