Until the automatic checkout feature is able to calculate state sales tax, allow
orders from specified USA states to be blocked.
This should be done at the store level. Very similar to the check boxes for countries
to ship to.
In my case, I’ve tried to get around the lack of a tax calculation line item
by creating a special shipping choice for Florida residents which includes a
6% fee. I can still lose out on up to 1.5% because cities and counties can have
additional taxes.
In practice, none of my orders from new buyers select the Florida Residents option,
so I am out 7.5%.
one outside the box option would be to cancel their order, notify them why of
course they are free to resubmit using the florida residents option. also, maybe
change your percentage to 7.5 for everyone local. if they want the bricks they
will pay.
