| Hi,
when browsing though the "Items for Sale" pages in a store i would like to see
the quantity that i already have in my own inventory for the parts displayed
on the screen ...
Maybe somewhere on the right for each lot
So each lot will display how many are offered by the seller and i can immdiately
see how many i already have (in my store and storage A/B/C)
This will allow me to quickly identity how many parts i have and how many i will
/ can purchase
thx koen

Hopefully this helps a little. It's a feature that I didn't know existed
for a long time until someone else pointed it out.
You can have your inventory shown in the Catalog item view page (see image 2
below) by checking the box shown in image 1. Go here to make that change: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogOptions.asp

| It could be problematic due to some sellers selling multiple lots of the same
part. I know you can already sort by unique lots, but even then some stores
who list multiple lots of the same piece are high on the List.
If you can get the function to only count the lowest price if there are multiple
lots of the same piece then it might work.
What about used vs. new (if you don't specify in your WL)? Does it default
to used, if a store has both conditions of an item?
Despite all this nay-saying, I like the idea, and hope it could one day be implemented.

| I think it would be a good idea to add a "Total Cost" column to this page: http://www.bricklink.com/wantedShop.asp
This column would total up the cost of what it would be for the desired qty for
all the items wanted in the store. That way, you could see which store has the
most number of wanted lots at the lowest price. The min buy is helpful, but
knowing how much all the stores would cost for all the wanted quantities would
be more helpful instead of having to click on all the stores and doing calculations.

| My pleasure. But it sounds like you already knew about the setting--I just
reminded you of it and you solved the problem yourself. Glad to help.

* In fact, it seems crazy to me that BL tells the buyer the weight of the parts
and the total cart weight but that this is not on the order when the seller sees
it. That could be a suggestion, but if it is made, it will again be jumped on
and rubbished in case parts are slightly different weight to that in the database
and the seller makes the choice to rely on it to make an postage cost estimate
and gets it wrong. An easy way around it is to allow for a buffer so if a postage
band if 500g, then make it 480g minus whatever the packaging material weight
is. But again, there would be complaints that it is unfair on the buyer to overestimate.
|
Try this:
http://www.bricklink.com/orderSettings.asp
and check the "Show Item Weight" box
|
Yes thanks, I know about that (someone here told me) but every time I set it
I don't see weights, and it is unset when I look at the page (and I do select
save settings too!) It has never worked for me on multiple browsers.
|
There are also other pages with the weight setting:
http://www.bricklink.com/storeSettings.asp?viewFrom=P
and http://www.bricklink.com/pref_seller.asp
http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=260
| And by default that should be on for new sellers.

I've lived with that fir about 18 months thinking what a pain it is not being
able to change it. I've just tried it on my phone instead of the PC and it
has worked. I never use my phone for BL, just the forum.
Thanks speshy
