I have an order that has been paid for thru PayPal and the money has cleared.
The order didn't make as paid and I now can not mark as shipped. Please
help? Thank you in advance!

Were taxes involved? If so did they pay with PayPal onsite or just PayPal you
directly? If taxes were involved it has to be paid directly on bricklink so bricklink
can collect sales tax otherwise the buyer sends you the sales tax which is not
allowed.

Thank you so much for your answer ...yes there was sales tax of 1.68 on the order
which is probably exactly what my problem is. New problem is...how do I correct
it now?

Only way I see; talk to the buyer, refund the indirect payment, change the payment
method to the on site one, get the payment.

You'll lose a bit in the PayPal fees no refunded though.

I guess I need to put in my terms that you have to pay me directly onsite
with PayPal to avoid this moving forward.

Buyer don't read ANYTHING.

I'd be you, I'd simply remove the indirect payment method.

You can still propose an "Invoice me manually" manual (D'oh) method
for those who will need a specific service (assuming it's not to avoid taxes
)

Is there by chance a possibility to change more remarks in the store inventory

So I am not willing to change one by one these 50 remarks. This will take me
ages to do so for the whole inventory (nearly 19k lots)...

Can I change the 50x remark "box 1" to "box 100" at once?

Thank you in advance

You need CN23 but also of course 1 or 2 proper printed Invoices put outside
in a transparent document pocket.

CN23 should also show the TARIFF number and origin of the goods.

Normally DHL calls you on phone to ask you to e-mail them the invoice...

But the easiest explanation is that the buyer simply forgot to use "Leave

"Royal mail" which then waits for its payment onsite?

What's the current shipping method for the 1st order?

Thanks for the input and explaining Open orders a little better.
The orders were from a UK buyer to my UK store and for a few low value items
well below £150 so I don’t believe it to be VAT related.

As the seller I didn’t change the status at all. I’m confused and the buyer is
confused why when the buyer added the 3rd batch it didn’t go into the open order
but created a new order.

Might it be because the status was set to Updated or is that normal?

Updated is normal, because the buyer "updated" the order when adding
a 2nd batch.

And anyway, Updated isn't a "closing" status unlike: Paid, Packed,
Shipped, Received or Completed (of course).

Again, I've never seen a glitch from BrickLink on adding to an order. There's
some logical reason.

It could also be due to some limitation in weight, size, min, max or such in
your available Shipping Methods?

Hi -

There's nothing to do to allow an open order.

ANY shipping method that doesn't involve instant payment or any order which
isn't paid leaves by default the order opened (if the seller doesn't
change the status to Paid, Packed)...

There's no glitch I'm aware of.

But this may happen if there's a change of tax, like VAT.

If a buyer outside UK places an order for less than 150€, VAT will be charged
to him.

If he adds more and the order is now over 150€ then the first order may be automatically
"closed" because the VAT treatment would be different.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I guess it could be the problem.

In your case, no, you can't "merge" or add to any order (luckily
for buyers).

If buyer didn't pay anything and it's not complicated, maybe cancel 1
or both orders and ask the buyer to place a first batch of MORE than 150€? After
this, he can leave and add to the order as long as he wishes.

Please be sure buyer's aware he'll have to pay for VAT (around 20% in
EU) - as some may not be aware and could refuse the parcel delivery - return
being at your cost

HTH?

In Help, Lurking writes:
Wondering if anyone can help me to setup or check my option for Open Orders please.
I'm a new seller, and believe I've setup the option for buyers to place
an Open Order. I did this from a shared shipping option I copied.

I have a buyer (who is very patient!) who has created an open order. He added
some parts which showed as Batch 1. He added more parts which appeared in the
same Order number as Batch 2. So far so good.

At this stage the Order Status changed to "Updated". I assume this was
done automatically.

The buyer then added more parts, but they didn't appear in that open order.
Instead a whole new order number was created. The status of that new order
is "Pending".

So I'm not sure if this is some strange glitch that hasn't added another
batch to the already open order, or if this is something I haven't setup
correctly. The Buyer would now like to complete his order(s). What do I/we
do?

1: Is there a way to cancel the 2nd order and fix some setting so that when
he re-adds the part it is added to the original order.
2: Do I just send two invoices for the two orders with a total value that covers
the shipping as a single package?

Grateful for any advice, thanks.

~ As seller, will I need to electronically insert proof of taxes-paid into the
customs form (IOSS) in order to avoid the buyer being double taxed?

~ If taxation is applicable to such an order, will taxes be processed within
the order itself, or garnered from the buyer on the receiving end?

Thanks in advance

Help pages notwithstanding, if any UK member would care to offer empirical
input it would be appreciated. Thanks

It's really straightforward

BrickLink will automatically collect the UK VAT (under GBP135).
You will receive an e-mail with the VAT receipt, and can download the PDF from
the order page if not recevied.
Print it and attach it in a transparent document pocket outside.
Fill a normal CN22 or CN23 form.

I may be mistaken but I think to the UK you don’t need IOSS but rather just printout
the VAT receipt and include it on the package. At the top of the order whenever
taxes (except to the USA) are applied you will have additional options at the
top of the order that let you know what to do. Picture 1 is from a UK order I
had which only prompts me to include the VAT receipt (which I download and print
out on 1 or several shipping labels and apply to the package just like the
normal label) and then in image 2 which went to the Netherlands I needed to also
include IOSS in addition to the receipt.

As for your 2nd question, yes if bricklink collects taxes they are collected
on the order itself just like USA sales tax unless it exceeds some $ amount which
varies by country in which case the buyer is charged it on delivery

Thanks. But this doesn't help to advance my understand beyond what I already
knew, in what to expect from the specific order details presented...

"if bricklink collects" "exceeds some $ amount"
"varies by country"

The effort is always appreciated though. Thanks again

I would like to think that all he has to do is refund the money I paid, mark
the order as ready or packed and then he could send a new invoice similar to
how a store would manage an order that paid with an offsite payment where taxes
could not be remitted to Bricklink?

It sounds to me like the seller somehow marked the original order as Not Paid
since a Paid order would not be batched with a 2nd order.

Only way is while NOT using an on site payment method.

Then again, comes the problem of possible avoid taxes
What a mess.

I'd be buyer or seller, I'd cancel the whole and restart from scratch
if possible and not too late.

Does it have to do with something the seller has not checked prior to sending

The 1st order I placed in their store was paid for through invoice and had the
"Pay" button, so I have no idea what has gone wrong this time.

TL;DR

There's no "Pay" or "Go" button in any invoice, except if
the seller put this link (button) himself in a specific invoice he sent you (which
can be completely manual or automatic).

In ULTRA short: simply check your order on BrickLink and see if there's THERE

Use THIS button to pay for the order (if the amounts are expected), nothing

representations of actual war weapons and sceneries.

The concept of promoting peace while representing mass destruction objects is
a VERY complex approach, and I think you're far from this comprehension /
distance which would be required.

I'm 100% sure I'm NOT interested in this "project".

Please also take note that you should be an adult to register here.

The chance that a seller will reach this milestone and also be an active member

I'm coming up with something: couldn't Bricklink organize a competition
where sellers receive a prize when they reach a critical order number? For example,
a free set 10305 for the seller who has order 2510000?

I received order 25002416!
This is a very unique number and the last time an order will have this order
number!!
Doesn't it deserve a prize?

It does! You should treat yourself to pizza! that order funded it!

So that'll make a Pizza per order with an unique number?
Something like 75/100 Pizzas per week?
That's the problem with fanatics; they're crazy

+1

AutoPay set-up, as available with most other services today, might be nice too

Many sites have automated billing yes,

also they could implement more payment methods with less fees that would bring more revenue for them...

More payment methods with less fees? Not something to argue with Though still
trying to understand "bring more revenue for them" Who's them,
and how would it do that for them?

Much more... with the extra planning development test deployment accounting costs
to save say 2% of 3%... they may start to save money in 5 or 10 years maybe?

Why would you hide precious parts to better show bricks?

19730 Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Rectangular (Minecraft)
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear {Pearl Gold}

This was previously only available in set

Set No: 21127 Name: The Fortress
*
21127-1 (Inv) The Fortress
959 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2016

Set No: 21137 Name: The Mountain Cave
*
21137-1 (Inv) The Mountain Cave
2822 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2017
Sets: Minecraft

These sets were limited in number and are much sought after.

Since 2024, a new set

Set No: 21252 Name: The Armory
*
21252-1 (Inv) The Armory
196 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2023
Sets: Minecraft
has been available that contains this part.
It can be purchased in any LEGO store or reseller. But I still see that every
new seller of this part bases their price on the original price when this part
was still rare.

This it totally nuts imo.

I'm thinking of parting out 10 sets containing this part and pricing them
at around 50 cents to change the price guide which will force future sellers
of this item to sell this item cheaper.

To the sellers: do you also experience these kinds of crazy things?

This is the reason I use the Last Six Months Sales Quantity Average for my pricing.
It effectively eliminates people listing the part for sale at high prices and
gives a good idea of what people will actually pay for the part.

Just found this one, $10 (?) avg price LOL:

weight is 1oz and the items purchased totals 5oz, would a 10% weight margin apply
to 5oz or 6oz?

IMHO it's a margin to the items weight only.

The base weight you *know* it, so you provide your exact number (with or without
a margin or an average).

That definitely would make the most sense, but above the adjustment fields, it
states “All adjustments will be combined to calculate total weight and dimension”,
which I interpret as base weight + item weight x weight margin. That doesn’t
make sense to me, but I can’t find anything on BL that clarifies this.

As items weight can vary A LOT depending color, year of production and whatever,
I wouldn't worry.

Simply provide an accurate base weight, then think at the margin to limit errors
you'd pay extra shipping for.

I use 5%, and I really don't / never care about extra shipping paid. Selling
is making an "average" profit, sometimes there are losses - just limit
them, but there will always be.

Where did you get this 2 month "rule"?

For us it's 1 month.

But already wrote another day, it took 7 months (SEVEN) for a single envelope

As you can see in the picture it is clearly the thin variant.

That isn't how it works. That is the undetermined entry and has the picture
that it had when we realized it needed to be split. That picture is almost certainly
not from one of the foil packs.

I have the foil packs in a shopping cart and I am waiting for my sales tax waiver
to be approved.

So, does that mean you are going to fix it?

Now I don't understand why they'd fix an obsolete entry to be deleted.

Again: "This catalog entry is obsolete and will be marked for deletion
once it is removed from all inventories."

Also, I'm sure there are more actual valid entries to fix if they've
got some time

There is nothing to fix for

Minifig No: dp095 Name: Cinderella - Dress with Stars and Bow (Undetermined Hinge)
*
dp095 (Inv) Cinderella - Dress with Stars and Bow (Undetermined Hinge)
Minifigures: Disney: Disney Princess: Cinderella

The two current set inventories containing it need to be checked to see if they
should actually have

Minifig No: dp095a Name: Cinderella - Dress with Stars and Bow, Thick Hinge
*
dp095a (Inv) Cinderella - Dress with Stars and Bow, Thick Hinge
Minifigures: Disney: Disney Princess: Cinderella

or

Minifig No: dp095b Name: Cinderella - Dress with Stars and Bow, Thin Hinge
*
dp095b (Inv) Cinderella - Dress with Stars and Bow, Thin Hinge
Minifigures: Disney: Disney Princess: Cinderella

Once those two set inventories are checked and dp095 is removed from them in
favor of dp095a or dp095b, then dp095 will be marked for deletion.

Hope that clears it up.

Agreed with this since my first reply, thanks.

Frankly I don't understand. This is the "undetermined" entry, which
is obsolete. You don't need to fix it to determine what's your version.

So anyhow, we added a min-buy for shipping outside our country, but it seems
not to be working.

You cannot have a minimum buy for shipping internationally and no minimum buy
for domestic. You can only have one minimum buy value for the store. If you try
to do it through the shipping settings, it will normally offer whatever default
shipping method you have when all other shipping methods fail. So if you only
have an international shipping option above a certain cart value, you will still
get orders below that, but that shipping option won't be offered. They are
still valid orders though, in that they reach your minimum buy for the store
(of zero, since you don't have one).

Yes but no - see my post:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1464775

I thought you could set up a fail safe international method with a minimum.
If it doesn't allow you to buy, then there's no shipping method, then
the buyer won't be able to buy.

I'm not sure, never tried, no minimum or such here, but it seems logical
to me?

You don't say in which exact cases it doesn't work (country, amount...)

I would NOT set min buy for the shop, as you did I think.

I would set min buy to the Shipping Methods, but:

* don't miss one (may arrive if you've multiples)

* type decimals using "." dot and not a coma "," or simply
avoid decimals (like 20 instead of 20.00)

I have a shipping setup for Domestic (works perfect) and a shipping for International
(only 4 countries included). Only for the international one i have added a minimum-buy,
because with all the documents its just to much work otherwise.

I did not add the ,00 - bricklink does it automatically when saving. It's
also the correct way (mathematically) its always a , never a . so i guess this
should not be the issue and can't be changed manually anyway.

But thanks for your feedback.

I tried for more than 20€ it shows "via Europe Zone 1 (DE, IT, FR, AUS)"

For less than 20€ that seems to be a manual "via Request for invoice"

So the problem is in the via Request for invoice method?

You should have a manual method for local, and a manual one for other countries,
with a minimum.

No comprendo.

4,892 lots available. Wow you weren't kidding

That's about half. Think I might have a slight Lego hoarding problem.

You have 2.5 tons of unsorted lego up for sale, and another 2.5 tons you haven't
listed yet?!?

I'm not sure for the hoarding, but he certainly has a sorting problem now

I like that "Caticfactions"

Sorry if I have missed something, but who and why is changing Stickers Package
Type from Weight To Volume Bound thus making Instant Checkout unavailable?

Thank you.

All paper items in the catalog should be set to Volume Bound according to our
guidelines. Any new sticker sheets, cardboard items, etc. added to the catalog
get set to Volume Bound from the beginning, but ones that we come across in our
travels through the catalog that need to get updated get updated. To solve your
issue, you have a couple of choices. You can change them in your personal store
settings to "Weight Bound" or you can add the packing dimensions of the
sticker sheets causing the issues to the catalog.

I searched...

It should be added as packaging dimensions, in metric dimensions:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2510

Example they give:

Sticker Sheet for Set 60188 - (37391/6218003)

x = 13.6, y = 11.8, z = 0.02
13.6 x 11.8 x 0.02 (cm)

I don't know.

Or... some (like me) use a generic text for feedbacks, and some have set "NPB"

I must admit, it doesn't help in this case

And how much "how many"? A 1000 orders buyer having had 10 negatives
during his membership or a certain period can be (and probably is) one of the
best buyers!

But a recent buyer with 15 orders and 10 negatives probably isn't

Only BrickLink can make a deep statistical analysis of buyers FB related to the
quantity of problems Administration have to fix, and then determine who 'behaves'
and who doesn't...

And if all this is worth (apart blatant bozos at -20 FB), because, see below...

Over all this guy ordered from over 20 stores and by the time his buying privileges
were revoked, he had wasted the time of 2 dozen stores.

Wasted time?

I've NEVER worked before having received full payment, since 2006.
It was our second decision after the shop name.

So remains taking 1 minute to make an invoice.
It's not really wasted time...

Otherwise what would you do else? Like to post in forum?

You don't say in which exact cases it doesn't work (country, amount...)

I would NOT set min buy for the shop, as you did I think.

I would set min buy to the Shipping Methods, but:

* don't miss one (may arrive if you've multiples)

* type decimals using "." dot and not a coma "," or simply
avoid decimals (like 20 instead of 20.00)

To whom it may concern,

I wanted to check in and see if anyone was interested in a story about the ugly
side of LUGs and Lego communities that are RLUGs and receive perks from Lego.

I was a member of a Texas LUG until in 2022 I was physically attacked at their
convention by someone thinking I was in a place where I wasn't supposed to
be but was asked by another member to volunteer to retrieve something for them
as they had to stay at the location they were at.

Oh

That seems to require some claim filed at the Police, it's not "minor"
especially if you fear for yourself. The more they receive claims, the greater
the chances for them to start to investigate. Of course, I don't know how
it works in your Country, but here we're supposed to contact them.

Take great care of you.

AAAAAAhhhhhh.... Ah ha! I was using hotkeys, not the "copy values from
document" in the menu.

That did the trick, thank you so much!

The trick with BrickStore, like many applications you discover: do NOT try it
on production, but use silly files or imaginary examples (I would part this out,
I would have those parts...), and try EVERY menu and field and function. Just
practice on dummy cases and files to figure out what will help you in production

I think I stopped trying the cut and paste a few versions ago when something
went horribly wrong. Despite highlighting the entire column when I pasted whatever
data I wanted copied it applied the first value only to all 900 lots. I'll
try it again when I get home.

I just tried, it works.

But you've to start form the 4x set list, select the 5x list as the source,
ignore everything BUT price.

Works in 1 click.

PS: you don't have to select anything anywhere.

It'll copy the values you ask, to all lots of the target document that exist
in the source document.

Then I decided I wanted to give one of them to someone as a gift. So is there
a hack in Brickstore to adjust the quantities down by 20%, or should I just upload
5 and then upload another one at -1?

Quantities?
You can set them up, multiply or divide.
You COULD multiply them by 100 then divide them by 80 or such.
But it won't work because some divisions won't provide integer results...
And this is an hazardous way to proceed.

Instead:
* keep the file with the 5x sets and the price you set
* make another one with 4x the sets
* use Edit/Copy values from the 5x sets, to the 4x sets, and copy the prices

Fair enough, no problem - I cancelled the order.

Today had a message from the "Buyer" to say I had sent them a wrong part

It's still possible.

Some place like 20 orders and get really confused.

Got pictures of damaged parts - they didn't order and I've never sent.

Got message saying I didn't deliver 80 parts; one hour later "Sorry,

Many fun cases...

Empty browser cache.

If still not, try using another Browser, like Firefox (you should use anyway)

I am having the exact same issue. The store I am trying to buy from is CollectABrick.

I am having the same issue with the same store, i have messaged them to make

That's us! We're in an RV, in a makeshift campground just south of Uvalde,
Texas. Had a beautiful evening last night. Dark clear skies and we managed to
see the comet (with binoculars). It was close to the horizon, and hard to pick
out, so we're hoping it will be clearer during the eclipse today as it will
be high above the horizon.

But. The forecast here is not good. We will probably just see clouds. We're
keeping our fingers crossed. Luckily we have 10 days of driving throught desert
doing some hiking and mountain biking afterward, so we'll have some fun with

Thanks

I am having a similar issue, did you get a response on how to refund just a single

Another maybe more interesting way is to use a Customized Template for the drive-through
e-mail.

You then can use any field (like the tracking one) where you put the tracking,
and then on the e-mail the buyer will see something like:

... has been Shipped!

Your tracking number is: https://www.whatevertrackingsite.com?id=0123456789

OH interesting. I never thought about putting a hard link in the drive thru.
I just send the tracking number and assume people are cutting and pasting it
in to the browser window.

You can make this, using a fixed link and a macro token which contains the tracking

Its not convenient if you sell across multiple platforms and don't want to
rely on third party software to keep stock in check

If you don't automatically sync, technically you may not have "in hand"
the items you're selling

  However I honestly
believe if a customer wants a part badly enough they will shop with that seller
irrespective of instant checkout or manual invoice/quotes

Ah, niche market, sorry.
Here orders are for parts you basically can find in many other places.
That may make a difference.

But like I recommend BrickStore (because I use it since 2006), people may be
reluctant to try it, but in general when they've spent a couple of hours
with it, they won't go back manually updating BrickLink pages...

It's kind of the same with ac/ip.
You may think it's the same for the buyer, but may be astonished by how much
people in fact DO prefer this than to wait for an invoice, of course...
Knowing that requires you try it, to set it up

It could, but on the other hand and just like NPB: as soon as you're using
auto checkout instant payment, all this cease to be a concern.

But we're not all using Instant checkout and so are you suggesting that we
all should be

Frankly? In 2024? With all those Consumer laws saying a transaction isn't
valid if the buyer doesn't see and agree to pay the final price?

Yes.

If the consumer sees and agrees to pay the final price after SEEING a manual
invoiced order or quote then what is the difference? It is only Bricklinks platform
itself that insists a transaction is a binding contract, not the individual sellers
many of who will happily allow a buyer to cancel should they wish to regardless
of an item being out of stock or not hence I raise the suggestion that buyers
should not be hit with NPB's and manual invoiced orders should be treated
as quotes to help prevent this situation so that buyers can shop with confidence

Yes, legally in many Countries, buyers are NOT bound by any contract if the
final total price isn't shown on his screen and the buyer doesn't confirm
his will to pay this exact total amount.

But, then, it's old BrickLink way again, juste like talked somewhere else

Anyway, sellers should develop ac/ip the more they can, it *really* is closer
to what's nowadays expected while buying on line, and it does simplify problems
of cancellation, NPB, IRR, and so many.

Of course you do as you wish.

But whatever the difficulty is (I've set up 110 Shipping Methods), frankly
I'll never go back to the old way, it's FAR too convenient.

The optional column in the Orders Received page where a tracking number can be
added is not activated per default, most sellers (I assume – like me until recently)
don’t know that this option exists, so they won’t use it.
On the buyer’s side, I am not sure how many know that feature and look for the
TrackingNo by opening the Order Summary.
Due to constantly tightened rules for sellers (by Paypal, Bricklink) tracked
shipping will be more or less standard in the future. Thus a default TrackingNo
column should be available for both sellers and buyers in their overview of orders.
This should improve communication between buyer and seller and avoid unnecessary
requests.

"Thanks for doing the bare minimum & paying server fees so the site stays

Server fees? Check eBay with what... CAD 50 per month shop + 10% cut or such
silly numbers? Server (+ people) fees are really neglectible here.

I love Bricklink like everyone else, but I am not a fan of the way it is handled
(if you even want to consider what they've been doing as "handling"
it)

I'm not fan either of their silent deployments (like one 2 days ago which
- again - broke BrickStore), zero or BS communication, working on things nobody
cares, and so on.

But I can't and you probably shouldn't decently deny it's working
quite reliably, and for cheap.

PS: of course there can be exceptions like shipping Raised Baseplates to North

Which machine? System? Browser? Which shop?

Empty browser cache.
Remove all BrickLink cookies.
Retry.

If still not, try using another Browser, like Firefox (you should use anyway)

I am having the exact same issue. The store I am trying to buy from is CollectABrick.
I tried from Chrome on iPhone and iPad and Chrome on Window 10 and Edge on Windows
10 - all the same issue ...

I tried, I confirm from here same problem.

It happens when BrickLink is calculating the shipping price.

I don't believe it's BrickLink, I've never seen this.
Something in their Shipping Method(s) is provoking the glitch.

Contact them? Or pick another shop if what you're seeking's available
somewhere else?

They're mostly focusing on Taxes (not even all of them) and Security.

But the Shipping methods are working (ignoring the fact you can't import/export

This is nothing short of frustrating. Did the people “running” this site outsource
that responsibility to a chimp on an entire pharmacy’s worth of drugs? Is that
why nothing productive is getting done? Does this site even have an analytics
