Hello everyone. On 15th of March i ordered some lego pieces together with a set
from a seller. He said that my order should arrive in 2-4 days. The track ID
was not provided and he informed me about it at the start. Once the 4 days passed,
my package didn’t arrive, and the seller told me to be patient. One month has
passed and no sound of the package. Did I get scammed?? I’m very furious and
the seller says that he can’t help me from then on. What the hell am I supposed
to do?He said that there is no receipt whatsoever because there was no track
ID in the first place.

Open an NSS (Non-Shipping Seller) and, if you paid via PayPal, start a PayPal
case.

I think it's unlikely that you actually got scammed, but the seller is still
responsible for the package getting to the buyer.

I understand where you are coming from, but to a certain point there is no need
for going into major detail about one's life or need to share. There's
no need to say "I'm at my parents after dad passed away, my brother and
I are trying to complete a set that has sentimental value." , "it's
a gift" should suffice.

To be clear I'm not asking for anyone to share anything.

This time, the order has a different shipping address, a different name, and

I clearly sense a dropshipping case here.

Is it allowed on bricklink?

I believe it's allowed, one wishes that buyers would be a bit more honest
though.

But a nothing says a dropshipper couldn't order from bricklink. Besides there
are tons of different reasons to ship to a different address: a gift, item you
were short on, completing a transaction, trades how and shipping to hotel, business
partner, relative that doesn't like the internet, friend that doesn't
want the hassle to setup a bl account.

Yes, to be clear a BrickLink seller can't dropship since BL sellers can only
list what they actually have in inventory (maybe an exception can be made for
inventory mistakes, etc.). But there isn't anything stopping people from
listing on e.g., eBay, and then dropshipping from BL.

What does this have to do with the honesty of the buyer? The seller can't
care where he sends the item. Unless it causes higher shipping costs or the address
does not match the address stored with PayPal. If payment was made via PayPal.

I don't care where I send the item and I don't care if a dropshipper
orders from me. I just think it's lame when they dissemble and claim they're
sending a gift.

I checked out, the final checkout screen had Batch 1 and Batch 2 on it. Even
though my 1st order had been paid for, both orders were included. He sent me
an invoice that included shipping and a credit for the amount of money I paid
on the first order minus the state taxes. I cannot pay for the order. The seller
has contacted the Help Desk to find a solution.
I would like to think that all he has to do is refund the money I paid, mark
the order as ready or packed and then he could send a new invoice similar to
how a store would manage an order that paid with an offsite payment where taxes
could not be remitted to Bricklink?

It sounds to me like the seller somehow marked the original order as Not Paid
since a Paid order would not be batched with a 2nd order.

stores are listed. The price of a part is often (but not always) cheaper from
LEGO's PaB website than from any third-party store. Also, PaB shipping is
free if the order is at least $35, whereas shipping costs can really add up when
buying from third-party stores. LEGO has owned BL for almost half a decade.
Why is LEGO's PaB website not included among the stores on BL?

(I tried to search for this suggestion in the Forum but didn't find anything)

In my experience, it's rare that PaB is actually cheaper - if it were I'd
definitely be buying parts there and selling them here.

sent First Class still hasn't arrived to the sller, after 2 weeks.

First Class parcels could be tracked (First Class was replaced by Ground Advantage).
You definitely shouldn't be sending anything as First Class letter mail now.

I changed my shipping options to 2 methods that provide tracking information
- Ground Advantage for $5.95 and Priority which is $9.85.

Problem is buyers are still paying the $3.00 so every shipment I eat a min. of
$2.95. I'm sure it's something I haven't done, don't know how
to do, etc.

It looks like your First Class option is still active - you can't delete
it until all the orders you sent out with it are completed, cancelled, or purged;
but you can disable it.

By the way, please sign up for Pirate Ship so you can avail yourself of commercial
rates for postage. Ground Advantage starts at $3.79 for the commercial rate,
I believe.

Same here. You get, what is it, about 6 weeks to pay it so there really shouldn't
be any excuse to missing it. Especially if going away, paying it before leaving
is sensible. You don't have to remember once you are back.

One feature that might be helpful here is the ability to pre-pay fees.

You can't eliminate VAT - it will be collected either by BrickLink (if the
order is under 150 euro) or by customs in the buyer's country (if the order
is 150 euro or more).

#1 I have "Complete" sets, but there're original bricks are scattered

I put the sets back together again from my vast lego box?

Yes, but you have to note in your listing if you don't have the box and/or
instructions.

#2 Is a mini figure still "new" if it has been gently taken care of in
a box of other minis, and never been played with and still shinny and unscratched?

Nope. It's Used.

There are plenty of non-European stores with fees for this and that.

Personally, I think fees for buying *more* are a bit odd, but the supermarket
analogy isn't accurate since the customer is typically walking around the
store putting the items into his or her own cart. I guess a service like Instacart
would be the closer analogy.

didn't consider the order completed? Presumably they leave feedback when
they've either received goods and are happy (Order Completed) or they leave
negative/neutral feedback because they are unhappy with the sellers lack of resolve
(Order Completed)

On other platforms like ebay there is no Completed status because feedback alone
defines the orders status and rounds up the overall transaction as complete!

I've definitely had buyers leave feedback before they even received their
orders - rare, but it happens. I don't know if one can do the same on eBay
(it seems one can click the "Leave Feedback" button but I don't know
if the form can be submitted), but in any case, since eBay also tracks orders,
I imagine the order isn't complete until the buyer has received it (I don't
know what happens in cases where the order can't be tracked).

I think if the buyer marks the order as "Received" and then leaves positive
feedback the order should automatically complete. Maybe when the buyer leaves
any kind of feedback? Not sure about that last part.

Thankfully most sellers aren't like this. Yes, you should just be able to

ENFIELD, Conn. - April 1, 2024 - Announcing BrickLink Dating™

After the failure of its Trionicles line, the Lego Group (TLG) decided to throw
its hat into the ring of online dating. "And where better than BrickLink,
our site for new and used Lego™ parts?" asked Susan Williams, head of TLG's
Consumer Services division since 1978. "Prospective dating partners will

I did this as requested.

Then he opened the "Non-Paying Buyer Alert"

I'm guessing that the seller's reasoning was that he wished to cancel
the order (this helps with inventory and also means that he would not have to
pay fees on the sale) and avoid the possibility of negative feedback from the
buyer (a completed NPB means the buyer cannot leave feedback).

"Invalid Device" sounds like it's related to the one-time pin. If
BrickStore has its own login for API access then it could be that that setting

The seller has to issue a refund through PayPal, since it was paid offsite I
don't think there is anything BL can do.

seller's account have been debited the
amount and it looks like to have gone into nowhere

I doubt the seller's PayPal account has been debited - for offsite payments
BL only records the refund, it doesn't process any refund.

I didn't open it because I thought it might be a hack attempt, but it was

I'm wondering if anyone else received a similar email?

Yes, and there are many signs that it's authentic:

- it comes from blservice@bricklink.com
- it is authenticated with DKIM, SPF, and DMARC
- it doesn't link to a login page
- it doesn't ask for your password

I've never heard of a computer's being hacked simply from opening an
email. It's opening attachments, clicking on links, etc. that can cause issues.

The IOSS number should be on the VAT receipt generated by BrickLink.

You'll need to use a service like Pirate Ship to send the IOSS number electronically
- you can't when you purchase postage at the retail counter, and PayPal's

EU VAT will be collected by BrickLink. The buyer is responsible for any customs

Make sure to send the BL IOSS number electronically, or your buyer could get

Highly suggest a service like Pirate Ship's Simple Export Rate (chat with

A rewrite of the guidelines on this, is called for.

But as it stands within the TOS, assembled minifigures can be listed as New.
Why for years, we've added the listing note "New, never assembled"
to our minifig listings. Which it seems, many others are now emulating. Simply
put: as building toys, once built they imho, are no longer new.

But this is a long disputed selling point, which has two distinct mindsets. I've
long ago withdrawn from trying to make the distinction for others, and have as
I said; moved to adding notes to our minifigure listings here on BL.

The whole matter remains convoluted, iow.

I think the issue is that some minifigures come fully or partially assembled
out of the box (or e.g. book), and BL probably doesn't have/doesn't want
to take the time to add a flag to each minifigure indicating whether it was assembled
or not from the factory. So all minifigures are allowed to be sold assembled
(even if they come unassembled) or unassembled (even if they come assembled!).

If the mistakes are only a few cents worth of items then I don't bother.
Doesn't have much to do with the number of lots - I don't tend to order
larger quantities, but I've definitely fulfilled such orders!

In this case, I probably will not say anything, because only 2 of 60 lots are
missing, they are not minifigures, and because I can get them from Lego.com for
$4 total. However, the decision is still annoying because one of the lots is
for right wedges to match left wedges that did get included.

A $4 error is worth a complaint. If I were the seller I would want to know about
a mistake like that.

  Hi all,

I recently bought 2 Futuron Monorail sets (6990). The trans blue antennas are
of a different color blue. See image. The ones on the left have the same color
blue as the other trans dark blue colors in the set, so I assume that the 'light
blue' antennas on the right do not belong to this set.

If I look in the catalogue however, it appears that trans light blue is not a
known color for round top antennas, there is one for sale though, for a huge
amount of money...

There is one set with trans medium blue antennas (4748), but the bricklink picture
of that color is darker than my antennas.

The antennae in your picture definitely appear to be trans-medium blue. The BL
picture (I guess it's actually a render) of the trans-medium blue antenna
looks darker than it ought to be.

One way to tell for sure would be to put the ones you have under a blacklight

please.

Respond to the NSS with proof of refund.

Good luck doing that with a tile

I think for an EU seller it just means you should send a VAT-free invoice? But
you're not an EU seller - I don't know if it has any implications at

Bricklink itself doesn't have control over refunds/payments, but it's
still good that you did the NSS as it puts a strike on the seller's account
& will eventually shut them down if they get 3 of them

And by all means, leave negative feedback for the seller. If they try to leave
retaliatory feedback for you it will be removed because of the completed NSS

is there a good place to identify non-lego bricks?

Do you mean, identify as in tell they're not Lego, or identify as in figure
out where they're from? If you mean the latter, I don't think there is
such a place. If you mean the former, you can apply some principles. This piece
has hollow studs where a Lego part would tend to have solid ones; there's
no Lego logo on it (this isn't definitive but a piece like this would have
one, if not one on or in each of the studs); and it looks cheaply made (this
isn't definitive either, there are definitely some Lego parts that look cheaply
made too).

Revised photo attached

That 8 is obviously upside-down, so %89 seems correct

I have a sales tax number which means I do NOT have to pay taxes on product for
resale.

I know this varies by state, but in Florida, retail stores do not have to accept
a Resale Certificate - therefore they charge sales tax.

Additionally there are steps you can take (at least in my State) to try and get
a refund for sales tax on items bought for resale. I've not actually tried
it so I'm not certain if it actually works, but the option is there.

File a NSS to report that you did not get what you ordered. If that doesn't
get you a refund, file a PayPal claim. Then file negative feedback. Negative
feedback left for you as a buyer in return will not affect your sales, so don't
be afraid to leave it for the seller.

Ok, that's what I'm going to do now. Thank you for your quick reply,
I really appreciate it.

Also if the NSS is completed, any feedback the seller leaves for you will be
removed.

Does the gross payment reported on the 1099 include the PayPal fees paid and
the sales tax collected by Bricklink?
In other words are the PP fees and sales tax collected deductible from the gross
reported?

Looked online but couldn't find a definitive answer. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Does it match the total if you look at your BrickLink orders from last year?

FWIW, I haven't earned enough in PayPal payments to get a 1099, but I've
always reported the gross and declared PP fees and sales tax as business expenses.

As some know area 2018 6-7 types of headgears and hairs popped up in 5 similar
colors , all with same partnr 95222 inside. With the lego logo and copyright.
I never checked then the partnr, as it had a logo, but the color blue was a bit
off color, also more friction then other hairs.

You're saying you have a part with the Lego logo on it that is nevertheless
fake?

I think it's interesting that in Europe, patches are more akin to what we
would consider "tags" here in the USA. In the USA patches typically have
stitched borders and often have plastic backing.

No solution but to answer some of your questions
No, the seller never touches the tax money, during the payment it gets sent to
bricklink right away.
All the seller needs to do is print out the tax receipt on the order and put
it on the package and digitally include the tax number bricklink providers when
they buy the shipping label. If they do those 2 things (just like they have to
do to many other countries) you won’t get double charged (aside from rare accidents)

I doubt BrickLink ever touches the money, I think whatever 3rd party vendor they
use collects it and remits it. Still, that doesn't change that BL is probably
responsible for refunding if VAT is charged 2x. I say "probably" as I
don't know if there's anything specific to Norway as opposed to EU.

Sometimes a bit more plastic comes off when a piece is removed from the sprue.

You need to add an onsite payment method (PayPal or Stripe) so that BrickLink
can collect the sales tax they're required to by law.
