BL has ignored stuff like this before because it’s not worth the hassle.
But if you want to keep item numbers just add them as alternates.

On closer inspection it is more than that. We don't have pictures of them
in box, but these listings are actually for Gear Sets. Those numbers are not
part numbers. They are product IDs.

Some sets can have alternate IDs too:
There are many gear items that only change in color and have different entries,
if the ID is saved as an alternate then we don't loose anything.
Missing also for merge these:

That is only valid when one hasn’t yet checked out. And you can’t click on “check
out” if the prices/available quantities have changed.
So, if OP has already checked out, as they seem to say, they can’t update the
cart anymore because the items have been reserved at the prices in the cart and
the prices can’t change.
(If the seller changed the prices after the click, it’s too late. Too bad for
the seller if it’s an increase, too bad for the buyer if it was a decrease.)
So it’s a bug somewhere else, in the shipping calculation or in the taxes one.☝️

That isn’t the issue. I deleted the cart, added the items and then immediately
clicked “proceed to checkout”, got the same issue that it returned to store home
page …..

It used to be that lego.com PAB orders were not returnable. They have changed
their rules so that they are now returnable so long as the whole PAB order is
returned. So if LEGO have relented on their 'no PAB returns' line, presumably
there is some legal reason behind it.

The 'goods made to order' exemption used to be stated on LEGO's website
for Pick a Brick. I'd be highly surprised if it wasn't removed due to
a challenge on right to withdraw.
It's worth noting that right to withdraw only applies to consumers. So if
a seller buys from another seller, distance selling regulations don't apply
in the same way.

Or they just eat the cost of them as returns request could be very very low,

There are fairly common scenarios in which a seller might consider setting a
sent order status to “Completed” Just a few…
1) Buyer leaves positive feedback, but doesn’t change the order status from “Shipped”

There are a good many LEGO fans that simply don’t know, don’t care, or don’t
care to know about order status 'duties’ and just wanna buy LEGO, that’s
it. Which is fine. The changing of order status by the seller simply helps a
vendor clean things up a bit, to stay organized. I does for me anyway.

The only order duty a buyer has is to pay. After that is the seller shipping
it and nothing else, as a commerce platform there is no further need to
do anything else.

But just an opinion based on my experience as a BL vendor, and very obviously
not that some other sellers.

I’m really looking forward to moving. I spent 15 years in Quebec. It was great
but now it’s time for something else! I want to get back to my roots, probably

I notice you still have these item listed in your store with similar high quantities
but slightly different prices so I'm thinking it could be that Bricklink
doesn't like you duplicating such high quantity listings possibly for two
reasons:-
A) If you search for those items by highest quantity you would appear multiple
times at the very top thereby it could be deemed as listing manipulation and
at the detriment to other sellers who also have high quantities of these parts
but end up pushed further down the list
B) Just one of those listings has enough quantity in itself before anyone would
ever need to purchase from your other duplicate listings and therefore Bricklink
may be deeming this listing practice as unnecessary and clogging up the catalog
I have a feeling it may be different if you were listing duplicate times for
much smaller quantities with these varying prices as these will sell out within
a much more reasonable timeframe and have more purpose
I could be wrong but those are the reasons I take from it....

He just relisted them and priced using whatever formula they use.
I think what happened here is retaliation from another store in Spain that had
thousands of items like pins and plates 1x1 for 0.40€ each to grow their parts
count from 800.000 to 1.600.000
I know the owner of Brikomania and they sure have that inventory.

As far as I know, the old version should be cheaper to produce. It has thinner
walls, with the "supports" being there to increase the thickness where
necessary in order to still make contact with studs.
I find it strange that they made a separate ID for this change though; although
they did introduce 3556, basically 3001 with thick walls and no middle supports...
which I guess is also identical to an older edition of 3001 :/ Different times,
different qualifiers for what's a new mold?
As a general trend, they also seem to have moved a lot of parts from 5-digit
IDs to 4-digit recently without any significant changes?

The description for this part says that it can have either a blocked open stud
or a hollow stud. To me, having one entry for a part that appears to have two
versions is a problem. For sellers, there is no way to list the two variations
separately, and for buyers there is no way to know what version they will be
receiving in an order.
This can be a problem if a buyer needs one version, but receives the other. Please
create a second catalog entry so sellers can differentiate the two versions in

This is what I am using the slope for. It's the fighter plane MOC I mentioned
a few days ago. The slope forms the nose and I want to insert the following part
into the tipe to form nose probe of sorts.

Both versions of the part are a Hollow Stud, just that in one the bottom is a

The ID got changed recently, you would need to remove the b from the end of the
numbers in your list for the upload to work

If you are searching starting in the color guide page the bottom head will not
appear because it needs to be in an inventory with an assigned color to be shown
there.

I think this is one of the reasons of the merge of heads, they will create new
minifigure entries for the ones that came in both solid stud and hollow, so all
are linked.

It does have LEGO imprinted on the neck stem. New to minifig collecting, I don't
have much knowledge on custom printing. Seems like alot of work as the legs,
back, and arms are printed.

The send notifications page only works if the user has it in a WL and notifications
enabled for that item. Else it will return it was sent to 0 users.
As far as I know you don't get any email or message, what you get is a icon
on My BL page that links to the items in the store reserved. You can check how
it is displayed by reserving a lot for your username.

For as long as alternate IDs are in the database.
The site can be smart and recognize them when it reads them in older files.
Yes, the field (as we see it on the part pages) is simple text and would need
to be normalized (and reversed: alt ID » correct ID/part, for now it’s part »
alt ID).
But the site already knows how to convert from LDraw and LXF files. So there’s
already a conversion table (or two) somewhere to convert LDraw’s IDs and LDD’s
IDs to BL’s IDs.
And while they are at it, add XML as a full-citizen file format, like LDR, LXF,
BSX: one that can be uploaded as a file, not copy-pasted.

Rebrickable is correct. Part 48723 is no longer in production and has been replaced
with 68888 and 3803. 48723 has an axle hole on one side and a pin hole on the
other side. Most sets require the axle hole, so 68888 can be used as an alternate
part. But in set 71043 the pin hole is needed, therefore later copies of that
set probably come with 3803. Maybe that is already the case, but we need proof
from a sealed set before we can add the alternate part.

It is available in PaB since 18/01/23 so it could be that was designed for a
set but was not used in the final release.

Since it is technically a "wiped" piece, unfortunately no. We know it
exists though because of its element number (4161805).

I'd chuck this in some chems and see what happened.
Evapo-Rust was unreactive, unsurprisingly. I only used that because I knew it
could strip galvanisation off screws and I had the ex-chrome Hau to test (also
no reaction). Simple Green concentrate was similarly unreactive, but stripped
the Hau perfectly when used with the ultrasonic cleaner. I did manage to get
a positive reaction with IPA, and was able to get the glitter layer to go tacky.
I scraped off the majority of the central crest with my thumbnail as a proof
of concept sorta thing. I can confirm that it's just a layer over top. There's
a milky white transparent mask underneath. I feel cheated.
I've currently got it sitting overnight in a bath of acetone-based nail polish
remover (hardware store was closed, supermarket was not lmao) and will strip
the glitter 'varnish' off entirely. I'd love to know exactly what
this glitter layer is made of, if anyone has any insight? It might make removing
it a little easier.
The next question here is: what colour actually is this? I was under the impression
117 Glitter Trans-Clear was plastic with embedded glitter, not just a coating.
Would this just be 40 Trans-Clear + shiny varnish?

Brickink servers were going crazy due to the DBP Series 1 sets the last couple
hours, try again later today or tomorrow.

It's a bug I see since the Refund page exists.
When you've input any amount in the "Refund amount Buyer will receive"
field, then using your mouse to scroll either up or down will increase or

Which can also lead to negative numbers.
But a few times I was to validate a refund which in the end was 1 or 3€ more
than what I typed because of this. Of course it's more difficult to notice

it may have changed since you typed it

... But... When I tried to replicate this after Nubs mentioned it above, I
scrolled up, down, left, right, expanded, contracted... nothing changed.

To replicate the cursor needs to be in the box of the refunded amount. I just
tried and it changes.

But the larger question is still, did the buyer receive 5x the refund and/or
am I totally shafted on being reimbursed?
As it stands now, no more refunds for a few dollars to anyone regardless of the
reason if I can't be guaranteed I won't "accidentally" refund
25% of their order.

Keep in mind the buyer has to approve this. I've never, not once had a buyer
figure out how to do that. Refunding or crediting the part is far less of a headache
for both parties IME.

If it is a missing part from my store I try to get it from one of the sets that
I have on the shame pile, larger everyday...
If is the buyer that wants to remove something I explain them how to do the request
using that page, so they change or removed qty as they wish and then I am the
one that have to accept it, and so the parts can be returned to inv automatically.

The lot in their store has no description, maybe before it returned the field
but empty and now if empty is doesn't return it?

I found the best way is once you found in which store you want to place the order
go to this page:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page
Select the WL you want to apply and filter the stores on the left to show and
select the one you wanted to place the order and it will automatically create
the cart with the correct quantities.

The ID changed to remove the b, Studio is still not updated to make the change,
the best and easiest solution I recommend would be to download Brickstore, import
the .io file and it will correct the parts IDs and then export that list as XML
in the clipboard or as the .bsx file to upload in Bricklink.

You are quite a bit outdated indeed, missing many new features, I would recommend
to download the latest always:

PD: In the past one update broke the autoupdate so that might be it, or you need
to use a legacy version if using an unsupported old device.
If you have to use the old check under View - View info logs and I think the
last one of the list is where these changes are shown.

| This is a workaround not a fix as you can't edit it when sending an invoice,
but if you have the template customized you can make it work by removing the
tag [COMMENTS] and [/COMMENTS] in this page:

I am having the same problem. In the order I made yesterday, the Invoice from
my seller is missing the "Comments from Seller".
Then I had an order from a buyer. I have sent the invoice with copy to me and
the "comments from seller" are missing in the email.
Fortunately I immediately saw this and could get in contact with my buyer.

Well, that's at least 3 or us then. I only noticed when the second buyer
I invoiced this morning asked where payment details were. The earlier invoice
I sent didn't have them either but that buyer placed an order last week as
well, so must have got them from that one.
At the top of the send invoice page, there used to be a link to view a printable
copy but that's changed to a link further over on the right of 'send
invoice'. I haven't noticed it before, so wondering it's a recent
change that might be the cause of the problem.

I think that change was done some time ago, I wouldn't say it is recent.
For the invoice issue, can you try this?
Go to edit your template and copy it to a txt file in your computer and save
it.
Then reset it, as with TAX changes they added/changed somethings in it.
Then try to send the invoice again with the comments and see if it gets to you
fine.

I wasn't sure if that was new or it's just the first time I noticed it.
Thanks for the suggestion but I already tried that earlier today and it did nothing.
I just gave it another go and still no comments coming through. I even tried
just the default 'Please send a grand total of AU $xx.xx to ...' message
and no luck there either.
Whatever caused it, it only started happening in the last 24 hours.

Just confirmed that this is also happening to me, most of my orders are paid
by onsite methods, but the comments are empty for all new generated invoices
now.
This has to be an update related to the one that broke the API that is related
to the comments on store lots.
Until solved we sellers might have to send a message with the comments in the
invoice so our customer get the details to pay...

I can confirm relative updates are broken with the API.

Correction, inventory update using the API in general seems broken. Relative
or not.

The fix is to specify the "description" field.

Works fine and fixes it as far as I can tell.

We are closely monitoring the effects of changing the item number for 4 basic
parts earlier today. There have been reports that Brickstore is having issues
and now you are reporting about API.

I can not do any PUT to /Inventory, as I could before. I am getting a similar
message in my custom software I use for adding inventory, picking, and shipping.
I also have not been able to pass a style tag via the api anymore since coming
back online after the cyber incident. Although, I can still do that in the UI
(which has changed too, details to come in another post.) It appears to be being
filtered on AWS and returning a 403 Forbidden. I have let the API team know,
but my last response from them was:
"The API and UI may have further changes very soon that could effect certain
HTML; expectation by end of month." That quote is from January.
Obviously, some of these changes have been put in place and not communicated
to the users of Bricklink.
It would really be nice if these changes were made in a much more public, stable,
and professional manner. But 'tis the Bricklink way to test in Production
on its users.
I was really hoping the MOC Popup shop deployment success was not a one off.
Sigh!
I sincerely hope we are not witnessing the beginning of the end of Bricklink.

I've spent a full day writing software to handle the transition form old
to new item IDs. But now it turns out that the changes are going to be all over
the place between basically today and MAY. And even THAT is not
sure...?

Sorry, since the message was directed to Russell and I mentioned it before I
omitted it here - our sync system works based on item IDs. If they change randomly,
it will break our sync a little bit many times, at random moments, and it will
be hard to repair without understanding clearly what changed into what.

It would be easier to just monitor this page daily with your software to automate
making the changes accordingly:

Personally, I would like to see Bricklink crack down on price guide manipulation,
which includes but is not limited to:
1. Excessive lots without reason other than poor inventory management.

They could try to educate those sellers if it gets so out of hand buyers get
mad.

This statement in Russell's original announcement is unequivocally true.
Require sellers to manage multiple variants places burdens on the sellers.
First of all, in parting out sets. For many sets, there are alternative variants
for various parts, that the seller needs to manually check, by counting whether
a hinge has seven teeth, or nine, for example. Which variant is in that set
seems like the luck of the draw. And then ensure I keep these visually identical
parts separate in storage.
In fulfilling orders. Heaven forbid I got the wrong stud type on the round bricks,
or the wrong X shape axle hole. then I have to scramble to find or source the
correct part so that the buyer is not upset, but the sad truth is that the buyer
most likely does not actually care about the specific variant, but just picked
the first round brick on the list, or the cheaper one. That is probably true
for a majority of buyers. I'm not too lazy to sort variants, if I have to,
but this is a lot of stress.
Something else I consider is that this issue is going to get larger. In the next
five to ten years, the number of mold changes and variants of parts is going
to keep growing. This is as good a time as any to make decisions about whether
Bricklink will keep adding more and more variants, or whether it will put limitations
on which variants are supported. The sets of today, will be "classics"
in a few years, and some builders will demand that sellers provide the theoretically
"authentic" part. How big will we allow the variant list to grow - without
limit?
My final observation is that the discussion here points to the tension created
by two aspects of Bricklink. On the one end is the wish for Bricklink to be the
definitive Wikipedia of all Lego parts and their history. The other side of the
tension is the idea of Bricklink as a great way to buy and sell lego parts. Although
these two ideas are usually complementary, they also create tension that leads
to the challenge of the current discussion.
The Bricklink catalogue is indeed a great asset to sellers, buyers, and all Lego
hobbyists. But is it reasonable to dedicate so much effort to ensure that the
catalogue is comprehensive in documenting information that the Lego company itself
doesn't care to maintain? Particularly when doing so places serious burdens
on sellers? I truly value the information in the catalogue, but honestly, I am
going to feel relieved when I don't feel obligated to sort out and maintain
separate inventories for all these variant parts.
I will keep my current stock separate, and add comments to listings to help buyers
find variants in my store. But it will be as an experiment to see if they actually
sell.
I can't contribute to the discussion here about the functional differences
in variants. However, in keeping with my former career as an archivist, I will
ask Bricklink to do whatever they can to preserve historical data, somewhere.
It would be a shame if it were to be lost.
