Just FYI, it's 6 months exactly, not 180 days or any number of days.

And yes it's written in the Invoice template 180 days, it's an error,
but you could edit it in your template, or don't care of course.

Merci beaucoup mon ami !

It now reads:

Note: All orders (except orders in NSS, NRS, NPB, or NPX status) and all items
in those orders are purged from the BrickLink website exactly 6 months after
the order date. Please download your orders regularly for record-keeping purposes:

"The BrickLink Master Mode lets you edit your inventory on BrickLink and
incorporate back the changes into BrickSync. Note that all order checks are
paused while in this mode
. Use blmaster on and blmaster off to hop in and
out." -- the first quick tips on the home page

As far as I can tell, you have probably been lucky enough to not get an order,
which would trigger a sync on the other platforms inventory, while you are editing
your inventory. You could potentially cause an issue where your edit gets overwritten
with inconsistent data. Or, you submit an edit with inconsistent/incorrect data
over a synced item's data.

I would start trying to use the blmaster command consistently so you don't
have to learn the hard way.

Your overall praise rating is 98.20% which is rather low for a seller with 5825

Orders do not equal feedback. They have 2550 feedback of which 46 are non positive.

This is so true, but the sting fades with time and it can bring peace as well,
since you no longer have to worry about being seen as perfect.

I still do the same customer service as before my first non positive feedback,
I just do not worry (as much) anymore.

My sales have definitely not been harmed by adding Stripe, it has saved me about
$150 in payment processor fees in 30 months. I view it as they are paying me
to use their service. So my savings will cover any charge back fee if it ever
happens.

but Stripe just does not bring enough to the table to put up with their BS

This statement is true if your only experience using Stripe is through
Bricklink where Stripe is only minimally integrated. For other platforms, they
bring a helluva lot to the table.

Turns out, in my instance, the customer reported their card's unauthorized
use on another platform, unrelated to Lego, by their son. Therefore, their charge
with me is authorized and valid.

I believe Stripe was just being overly cautious when they notified me, I'm
still processing how I feel about this.

Has anyone gotten one of these before and how did you handle it. Stripe recommends
I refund to avoid the charge back fee, but I believe it is a valid charge, however,
this is a first for me and I would like to find out how others handled this situation.

Please go back to not altering perfectly valid html code.

Please re-allow people to voluntarily open BrickLink pages in an iFrame (broken

Even more important, please implement a log of any user side change?

Even if only for your own dev's and future selves sanity.

I can imagine someone above Russell in TLG asking...

...why should we spend money on making the catalog more dense/robust than it
"needs" to be? TLG is primarily a toy manufacturer not a curator of TLG
historical minutia.

...why shouldn't TLG harvest BL seller inventory/sales data to drive TLG
PAB prices and then drive traffic to PAB? TLG makes more than 3% that way. Which
by the way:

...why should TLG be satisfied with 3% commission?

...how can TLG leverage BL to create artificial scarcity without generating too
much public ire?

...why should TLG spend money on BL seller tools? How exactly does that drive
profits or sales to TLG?

...how can TLG make an acceptable/favorable return on their Bricklink investment.

  Hi

Have you made changes to the (Update Store Inventory -- PUT - /inventories/{inventory_id})
API request?

Previously you could call the API with the following parameters and would have
no issues:

['quantity' = '-2']

Now it's responding with:

["description":"String input must not be null","message":"PARAMETER_MISSING_OR_INVALID"]

Weirdly a couple of requests have completed successfully but most of the requests
are failing with the above error message. Can someone please advise what this
error is and if it's a bug that has been released into the API by accident?

We are closely monitoring the effects of changing the item number for 4 basic
parts earlier today. There have been reports that Brickstore is having issues
and now you are reporting about API.

I can not do any PUT to /Inventory, as I could before. I am getting a similar
message in my custom software I use for adding inventory, picking, and shipping.

I also have not been able to pass a style tag via the api anymore since coming
back online after the cyber incident. Although, I can still do that in the UI
(which has changed too, details to come in another post.) It appears to be being
filtered on AWS and returning a 403 Forbidden. I have let the API team know,
but my last response from them was:

"The API and UI may have further changes very soon that could effect certain
HTML; expectation by end of month."
That quote is from January.

Obviously, some of these changes have been put in place and not communicated
to the users of Bricklink.

It would really be nice if these changes were made in a much more public, stable,
and professional manner. But 'tis the Bricklink way to test in Production
on its users.

I was really hoping the MOC Popup shop deployment success was not a one off.
Sigh!

I sincerely hope we are not witnessing the beginning of the end of Bricklink.

Hmm, KIRKBI only owns 75% of TLG, wonder who owns the other 25%?

Quite true, literally. The FDA calls it “pasteurized processed American cheese

Is there a reason you don't want to just throw another 9v in it? Seems like

I do not see a motor in 9v or any other voltage in this set. I think OP is

My personal favorite for obvious reasons.

The irony is I got a 403 forbidden error when trying to post the 403 Bounty Hunter
as a png, like all the previous 403 picture posts. To get around that, I had
to upload this one as a jpg -- It's doubly ironic that one of these is
a png and one is a jpg.

Fingers crossed

I do not have access anymore to the API when doing a POST, I can do a GET, PUT,

Did anyone run into this after the hack? What was your solution?

I've put a help desk ticket in but I guess Bricklink thinks this is not an
access issue as it has not even been assigned an agent.

Indeed.

reason).

What I infer from the limitation, is that Bricklink MAY not be following best

It’s been awhile since ConstrucToys ran its last contest. I actually thought that our contests we've run throughout the years, would continue without the popsicle influence.

Cory, I presumed that this was part of your marketing for your store.

That’s clearly not the case, it seems now. Don’t know why, really.

This is the first I have heard/read of your expectations. We can not read your
mind or infer this from anything you have posted previously.

But the why doesn’t really matter, does it? What does matter, is whether there any longer exists an appreciation for the contest in the forum?

That seems to be obvious, to me, by all of the "Thanks Popsicle" when
a contest is run.

Let us know and we’ll consider sponsoring them again.

As a previous winner, I am and would be appreciative.

It could be that today’s forum no longer needs the dynamic excitement and distraction the forum contest has offered members over the years.

I doubt that. My 2 cents, maybe you could leave posts up (in the contest sub
forum) and not cancel them so other could read them and be inspired.

  Hello -
I'm shipping for the first time to Puerto Rico using Pirate Ship. I filled
in the info for the customs form, but I don't see how to print it. All that
printed was the shipping label.

I checked Pirate Ship's FAQ, but the info wasn't clear. It says "For
packages under 1 pound, you may not be prompted to fill out a customs form for
the locations listed above."
Mine is 5 ounces and it did prompt to complete the form, but it didn't print.

If someone could give me some tips on sending to Puerto Rico using Pirate Ship,
I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!
Julie

PS support/chat is awesome. The can probably help quicker than someone here.

I usually don’t ship abroad, but a buyer asked me whether I could send some bricks.
I already created a Bypass Password which should enable the buyer in a non-shipping
country to order from my shop. But the buyer tells me that there is nowhere to
type this password in. What am I missing?

Did you create a shipping method for their country? Just a password will not
cut it.

Seems some sellers have seen this too, I have seen so many new sealed sets with:

I've reported some. But there is just so many.

since I know most are willing to resolve it I feel bad leaving it even if half

No need to be sorry, unless it is Canadian law or something.

This is the great thing about being a BL seller, you can run your store how you

Why not leave feedback to warn others then?

Since then it often leads to a lengthy conversation which is fine for 1 off things
but when your dealing with 10 orders a week isn’t feasible time wise and will
likely lead to getting blocked at more stores plus if you send a message to them
most will refund you so if they offer to refund the damaged parts it feels weird
to still leave negative.

I am sorry, this does not make sense to me. It is feasible, time wise, for you
to chase after a refund but not to leave appropriate feedback? The conversations
do not have to be lengthy. Why worry about getting blocked from a store that
sells bad used parts? Yes, even after a refund you could leave a neutral "Used
parts in bad condition, had to get refund" or some such verbiage.

If you left feedback, eventually, these types of sellers might be less of a problem,
plus it serves as a warning for other users, making Bricklink stronger in the
long run.

No, it isn't.

Repeatedly when buying used between 30-50% of parts in orders have bite marks,
cracks, yellowing, heavy damage and similar. I’ve placed 100+ orders for used
parts and have only ever had about 5 without quality issues the rest have countless
damaged parts

Why not leave feedback to warn others then?

Many seller don’t understand the difference between used and damaged.

A few don't, the overwhelming majority do.
There are buyers here who seem to think that used means essentially new but less
expensive.

I wish that were true but sadly experience has not confirmed that. Maybe I’m
just unlucky. Just the other day I received this figure listed as “perfect condition”
and this is what I got

The minifig legs in those photos look ok, just have a little bit of dirt that

Hello and good luck!

a lot that we don't need. We did need a few parts and so made an order but
I'm not sure if all sellers are able to post feedback...life gets busy you
know?

Just communicate with your seller, most good sellers will respond within 24hrs,
many in even less time.

  Any tips are appreciated!

Treat your customers how you would want to be treated is my 2¢

I love giving new users feedback and I do right after I pack your order. Before
if I see you are a zero feedback user since I love giving first feedback!

I can not seem to get it to work, it pastes fine, it updates fine but it does
not render properly.

If I do the same syntax manually, it works fine, just not via mass update.

see image for example html (now included!)

Update: The only way I was able to get this to work was through the API.

But that breaks my backup solution!

Still progress at 2 steps forward and one step back.

Now I think that might be backwards. It's could be escaping everything in
between the XML tags and saving the escaped characters to the database.

So & lt; might be escaped as & amp;lt; when saved to the DB.

There’s two possibilities:
1. the entities are resolved (that is, & xx; is replaced by the character it
codes for),
2. the special characters are replaced by entities,
and that in muliple places:
1. BrickStore,
2. the API service,
3. the database.

The problem is there’s no quasiquote/unquote in HTML.  So if “do nothing” doesn’t
work, the only thing we can do is “quote more”

I tried quoting more, I tried quoting less, I tried literal quotes (" at
the start and end, and I even tried to enter it as !CDATA[]] since those sounded
like less time and typing. No success.

If anyone has anymore ideas, I am game, tomorrow, after I attempt the API fresh
in the morning.

Thank you all for the ideas to try. I'll keep you posted.

Over and out,
John

Despair, definitely despair. I was a big CLI user before my stroke, now I do
not type fast enough to be efficient.

I have a couple of questions for those using BrickStore.

On both my Linux (2023.5.1) and Windows (2022.4.2) machines, the database says
it was generated 8 days ago, regardless of when it was generated.

Also, I can not seem to get the COLMAR2 series to show up.

Are you experiencing this issue? If others are, I can enter a bug report in Github.
If not, I'm probably going to turn off the computer and go enjoy some sunshine.

Using your favorite search engine! Use the advanced filter

site:Bricklink.com

and then your search term

In the image attached, I searched for NSS and the first non ad result in DDG
is the NSS help page

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?viewType=shop&helpID=110

To find Mike's story I typed in

site:bricklink.com "Ace of Bricks"

First result was a link to his store, second was a link to the story I originally
inquired about.

Works with most search terms and most search engines.

Now go search yourself
