Hi there,
I hope someone can help me. I recently bought a bulk lot of Lego parts and I
stupidly washed them before checking them out, when laying them on a drying table
I realised there was a 2838 motor in the lot. This has been through a cycle on
my washing machine and I wanted to see if I could take it apart and make sure
it’s thoroughly dry before I attach it to a power source. Is there a way this
can be done without destroying the housing.
Thanks in advance

A year ago, on the internet, I found some very rare and unknown Lego sets: the
Lego Batman Movie Promotional Cubes.
I became very interested about their history.

They are cubic dioramas, similar to the Cubedude sets, with four or five Minifigures
inside and a small build representing a scene from the movie.
There are a few diferent designs and they were gifts from Warner, given out on
a few diferent occasions and promotions. The attached photos are examples these
cubes.

Despite many hours of reaserch, because of their rarety, I coudn't find much
info.

I am asking for ANY further information about these 2017 Lego Batman Movie Promo
Cubes.

Any information would be appreciated.
Including: photos of the Cubes or their original boxes or accessories,
any links mentioning these Cubes, old sales and their sale prices,
if someone actually owns one or saw one and indeed any other infomation.

No spam messages, please!

Kapz

I have been able to find images from Google (and this thread) four boxes that
contain unique minifigures: one on a couch (female) and three "red carpet
style" (2 male, one female). Being a completionist with my DC Minifigure
collection, I attempted to find the parts to make those unique minifigures for
my collection. Unfortunately, I could not find matches for any of the torsos
on Bricklink. I am under the impression that the torsos released with these boxes
must be unique and made specifically for this promotion.

I use it all the time, the bag I have used a couple of times and the duster.
Didn't win any contest, I received it from the Lego group after an interview
with a lady from the Lego group. Can't remember her name but this was shortly
after Lego purchased Bricklink and they were interviewing some Bricklink members
and why they use Bricklink and so forth. Very cool when it came in the mail and
thankful that they send it to us .

Brett.

long I kept the box for a couple years but think I recently got rid of
it otherwise I could probably find a date on it somewhere

My memory is pretty bad too but I still have the emails, the photo is on my phone
so it's dated and the invoice is in with a couple of items I haven't
used yet. Box is still here, minus label and ready to use one day for the right
size order

Great pack though and a really nice surprise because not only do I never win
anything, I think I only did the first weekly challenge/quiz. I meant to do the
rest but life got busy and I forgot.

It's for makeup.

If you own one could you add the weight?

Are we all sure that this thing is a duster? It looks more like a make-up brush!

Agreed! But it says bricklink on it so it has to be a duster.

I think Nubs has one.

Indeed but mine has part of the logo worn off and the sticker missing (and has
dust ) so I don’t know if I should add the weight

Where did you come across it?

Won it in a contest from bricklink along with the other bricklink merch with
similar branding

p.s. Is it a make up brush?

Is there a difference? I’ve never even help a makeup brush so couldn’t
tell yah

Held” and yes in traditional bricklink ways it took like a year to ship or something
(I don’t remember exact how long) and the water bottle made me sick every
time I used it

Mine shipped around 3 months after they asked me to provide my details and it
got here about a week later, photo is from Nov 18, 2020. I got the email a couple
of weeks after the event concluded and they gave me 2 weeks to respond or they'd
contact the next person on the list.

No problem with the water bottle but I always thought the brush was for keyboards

I once tried to use a make up brush to dust, but I forgot to clean it first and
little bits of hair went all over the dusting area!
Was not fun to clean up.

Thank you for your reply.

There were 7 made and given out of one of the cube designs.
There are, from my knowledge, a minium of 5 designs,
and each design was given out in their own limited amount.

I don't yet have the information of how many cubes were given out of every
design, but the cube in this sale appears to be the rarest of them all.

This is a low price for such a unique Lego item, comparing with the Darth Vader
or the Yoda dioramas.

Hard to find LEGO Star Wars items will nearly always be worth more than hard
to find LEGO Batman Movie items produced in the same numbers.

If you think £22K is a low price for it, then buy the one on ebay. Although I
presume you are the seller if you think that is cheap, and that this one is rarer
than the others.

Based on the only one I found for sale, only 7 were made and it is listed for
£22,000.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, the cubes were only given out as gifts.
I am interested for how much the cubes are going for on sale platforms, and how
much are they worth right now.

As far as their sale prices, I doubt there was a price. Promotional items like
that are usually given away as prizes or gifts.

No, older ones had no markings underneath.

i have just sold a collection of Bionicle sets, my question is why have prices
gone up so high on some sets ? i never brought Bionicle items before because
i did not rate it much, but now it might be worth buying some more ? does anybody
know why ? is it because Lego is not making any more, should i go for sealed
sets ? or loose lots ? maybe both ? i await to read some reply's . thank
you

The age range has come into fun money. I predicted this years ago lol

I do agree the prices have gotten completely stupid, I rarely find good deals
now

Crystal

have you checked out vintage gi joe figures...
pricing on those went insane too

Omg YES

My fav story is I was throwing away these little toys I got in an old lot of
LEGO, that were not LEGO

Then I found a MOTU (He Man) staff I recognized as being worth some $ so I decided
to check the other misc toys and low and behold the little guns I had been chucking
were G.I. Joe and I ended up dumping out my garbage to retrieve them and I got
something like $10-25 a piece (there were very old) I have no doubt the 90's
G.I. Joe stuff is also getting stupid, I bid on a few lots recently and could
never win them.

I flip vintage toys in general, so I'm always watching the market on various
stuff. I don't get to flip many "male" toys because they are nearly
impossible to get in bulk, too much competition. I do occasionally find some
MOTU and Transformers by just having an eye that recognizes it in unrelated lots.

I sell alot of FP and MLP and you can watch the popularity spike right around
20 years for self collecting, and 25 years for "I want my kids to play with
this too". Bionicle is in the self collection stage. lol

Fundamentally, it's interest chasing product...

Frankly, Bionicle among some other semi-dormant product lines, have been susceptible
to market-value retardation over the years, beyond what should be projected that
is. The product line is now playing catch-up in the marketplace.

Could explain in detail, but I’m not interested in doing so here in the forum
at this time. Just know that Bionicle is not the only LEGO line experiencing
or will soon experience the same appreciation.

I recommend that if you do sell bionicle, to get lots of it so it’s more likely
that someone will stumble across your store.

younger generations that grew up with them now have adult money and want to buy
them. that paired with none being made anymore leads to high prices

I haven’t bought or sold any for some time and not rated by myself.

That ended when I purchased several lots I thought were worth a gamble, they
sold well and at good prices.

My suggestion would be to purchase both sets and lots if you think it’s a good
price.

Still don’t like them myself but plenty do.

$200+ worth of PAB parts would make this especially worthwhile.

Long gone. I called Tuesday to check.

It did go from Insiders to general purchase, but only for a short period before
it went out of stock.

Very disappointing that LEGO does not enforce limits on the GWP for special sets
like this one. There are people who got 4+ copies of this set.
