Hey, forgive me if this the wrong place to post this. I'm new to the forums.

Recently when building a MOC, I put in an order that included a 32138 Technic,
Pin Double with Axle Hole with Squared Pin Holes. I got a 65098, which is listed
as a variant mold on Bricklink. However, according to Rebrickable (https://rebrickable.com/parts/32138/technic-pin-double-with-axle-hole/),
they are different. One has friction ridges, the other doesn't. I don't
have a 32138 to hand, so I can't verify it, but if so, these are very different
parts in terms of use cases. Should they be listed as variants? I thought variants
were supposed to be functionally identical with primarily cosmetic differences.
Or maybe I'm confused (likely).

Thoughts?

They ARE different. There is at least one official Lego set (IIRC the AT-ST Raider
- 75254) that requires one of the variants, as the model cannot be built correctly
with the other version.

Yep. Found more info here - https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/ie9v0f/these_pieces_do_not_fit_together_the_way_the/

Seems the “connection to the award-winning LEGO® Customer Service Team” didn’t

Note the lack of mentioning of what award was won.. exactly

I don't keep any of my boxes. I put them all into recycling. I have regretted
getting rid of some UCS Star Wars boxes, as I've built the model and then
dismantled it later, but not had a box to put the parts back into. I bag up all
dismantled sets and place them in large storage tubs with their instructions.

A couple of years back I had a package (ordered from Europe) that, according

If you paid via PayPal, then put in a claim ASAP. If not, contact your bank -
you might be able to do a chargeback on your credit card (if you paid by that
method). Also, report seller via BrickLink Problem Order - https://www.bricklink.com/retractOrder.asp

I'm coming up on a week for an invoice that hasn't been paid yet for

very low feedback. (so they should know how the system works, but maybe it's
been a while?) There is a phone number attached to the address so I could call

Email/BL Message? Yes. Call/Text? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

If email/messaging fails, issue an NPB.

I presume you're talking about the part ins Studio? If so the proper Studio
forum is here - https://forum.bricklink.com/

However to help with this issue, you could always place a plate underneath where
you want the parts and then attach to that, then delete the plate.

I'm not noticing any issues with placing these parts side by side though.
There is a grid setting which adjusts fine movements. You could also try turning
on/off part-snapping.

Hello. This may sound little weird considering putting bricks together is indeed
tons of fun, but I was wondering if there is anybody (Florida preferably so we

me?

The set I envision will be a replica of an existing and well documented object
that comes with somewhat complicate set of moving parts that only somebody with
decent knowledge of technics bricks, axels, etc. could put together.

I know I will learn alot in the process so I consider this a great lesson, therefore
I'm willing to pay someone for their time (hope my post does not go against
forum's terms)

Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?

Give us an idea as to what the item is, what you want it to do, how large you
want it and how much you are willing to pay a designer and you might get some
offers. I doubt it, but maybe.

Always wondered what the story is there... Reddish Orange was 256 before being

I read (somewhere) that the database can handle only integer figures upto 255,
so Reddish Orange had to use a lower (unused) value. As for the other missing

Thank you Admins for working hard and reacting quickly to keep the Forums from

You have a thankless job. Not sure everyone realizes the 24 x 7 effort all of

While I also report these when I see them, these posts really shouldn't exist
in the first place. There are easy solutions (that have been mentioned time and

But yeah, the Mods/Admins do indeed remove them very quickly, so hats off to

Have a Magical Day,

I think this is a big problem with the NSS overall; the seller shipped, but did
not send the correct parts as ordered. I think this should come under a different
complaint to someone that didn't ship anything (or order never arrived).

It's easy for the seller to post an image/proof to show they shipped something
(which will cause the NSS to be removed), but it doesn't prove they shipped
the correct something! The buyer still might not have the items they paid for.

I bought my first MOC set recently and clearly made a rookie error in going for
what I thought to be the best priced bundle. Only now I’ve realised I’m missing
around 10 individual parts as the seller didn’t have them in stock (lesson learned).
I now need to source these 10 pieces but on their own could end up paying much
more and also in postage. Is there a better way to source these pieces at all
or is there no option but to potentially have to go through 10 individual sellers
and just pay all the postage?

Cheers

Create a "Wanted List" of the parts you require. Then click "Buy
All" - select the region where you want to buy from ("United Kingdom"
and it will list the sellers only in the UK with the parts. Those at the top
of the list have the most parts required. You can select the seller with the
most parts with lowest price and shipping easily.

how this is done:

https://studiohelp.bricklink.com/hc/en-us/articles/5628123432215-Exporting-Instructions

However, the instructions here do not at all match the software I have downloaded.
According to the instructions, there should be a green button named "Export".
However, in my program there is "SIGN IN", "Add to wanted list"
and "Upload to MyStudio" in the top right.

I am using Studio version 2.23.11 (1)

This is the latest release, not the latest stable. The reason I am not using
the latest stable release is that would not start on my Macbook. I have Sonoma
14.2, so the OS version should not be a problem.

If you want to export just an image of your creation then you just select the
"Render" option - that will render the scene and create an image for
you (in the format and size of your chosen settings). It looks like you're
reading the wrong instructions - that link is for creating a .PDF instruction
file, via the Instructions Maker.

You have so little faith!

Box count: 5374

Set count: 5371 with 2 minifigures

(Like every other set on BrickLink with minifigs, btw)

Break minifigs: 5381

However, this accessory pack is split up:

Part No: 72329 Name: Minifigure, Rangefinders and Visors, 8 in Bag - 4 of Each (Multipack)
*
72329 (Inv) Minifigure, Rangefinders and Visors, 8 in Bag - 4 of Each (Multipack)
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear Accessory

adding 7 parts to the overall total. LEGO counts the whole plastic bag as 1.

Which brings us to 5374.

got several negative feedbacks which complain about your lack of communication...
Oh the irony.

Thank you!

What type of sets are you looing to create? Have you looked on Rebrickable for
similar items? It'll definitely by cheaper to buy a design from there than
hire someone to create something for you.

Yes, there was, although I don't have confirmation yet that they will cover
for it.

In any case, even if it's covered, I'm not sure I'm willing to let
that aspect come into play. A fair compensation should be determined regardless
of the insurance claim. If not, the customer would get a new - sealed set (although
damaged) almost for free.

Thanks for thinking along.

I've had my first damaged box during shipment in the 3 years that I'm
active as a seller now. The customer asks for a compensation (which is correct,

set.

The set was a Star Wars 75336 BD-1 set. My question for you is what do you think
a valid percentage would be. The box was banged up pretty good.

Thanks!

Was there any insurance/indemnity coverage on the shipment ?

I would also have to ask - did you do everything in your power to try to ensure
that the box arrived safely? Was it packaged up well? Maybe there are lessons
for you (and other sellers) that could be learned. I've had some shockingly
poor packaging and have been amazed that the orders to me at all and without
loss/damage to the contents.

He could always get a new replacement box off BrickLink for less than 10 £/$/Euros
including postage - https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?O=75335-1#T=S&O={%22ss%22:%22UK%22,%22rpp%22:%22200%22,%22iconly%22:0}

That's about as much as I'd refund (if I were a seller and in your shoes)
- certainly not 50% of the cost, especially since it's difficult to prove
if the box was damaged during transit or afterwards...

I know collectors like to keep boxes in mint condition, but most collectors would
have bought the set when it was first released and not when it's just about
to retire. Something that old is likely to have shelfwear/scuffs etc.

Every one of my Negative feedbacks are retaliatotry remarks from BAAAAAAD sellers,
including one that sent me items stinking of smoke as in original post. Rather
than accept that they are to blame, every single one of them marked me down.
And BrickLink don't care.

I would say that it's worth a retaliatory feedback if the seller really is
being a douche - let it serve as a warning to other buyers. You take the hit

There a rabge of pots, buckets and containers available for Lego plants. And

are you after?

As for soil, some 1x1 round plates in the brown ranges (brown, dark brown, reddish
brown, dark tan, tan) make good materials to hold a plant or for the surface
matter.

Sounds like you might have changed the Palette options. The Main palette allows

every part available in the Main palette is available.

Just click the colour palette menu (under "Insert" on my Windows machine)

Cat butts in regular contact workspace surfaces? Yeah, cat folks are out there

the tolerance needed, I suppose?

Yeah, my share of "cat butt" exposure in my time there last week. They
seem to be especially proud of that part of their anatomy... jumping up on the
worktable I sat at, so that it was often in close proximity to the face. As if
to say "here, get a closer look" Then there's the walking around
with occasional feces stuck to their paws, from clumsy attempts at burying.

No thanks

The solution is to right-click and use “Reset camera origin.”
You can also use the menu View | Zoom to Fit.

Highlight the whole screen area with the left mouse button. It makes all the
distant, invisible parts glow bright blue, then right mouse click on the glowing
bits and select "Pan to Cursor" and zoom in.

I'm sure there are other methods, but that works for me.

Actually, your solution may not work.

‘F’ = Pan to Cursor

As the name implies, it moves the view to center it on the mouse pointer.
That doesn’t mean it centers or re-zoom on the selected parts.
What happens is:
— if there’s no parts below the cursor, it will center on the point on the Ground
below the mouse pointer,
— if there’s a part below the cursor, it will center on the point on the part
just below the pointer (not on the part itself, just on the bit that’s pointed).

So, if, like Boboby, you end up with an empty screen, there may be no parts to
select, there’ll no parts to show highlighted.  And the selecting before right-click
+ Pan to Cursor just ensures there’s a part below the mouse pointer when you
Pan to Cursor.

It's worked for me. Not saying it will work every time, or even in his situation,
but it's at least something he could try.

  Hi

I bought the David Younger church instructions from David and made the church.
I am now trying to make it again but have lost my instructions. Does anyone
have them or know how I can get them from David? Thanks

Check your email - if you bought from him, you'd surely have his contact
details, even if just on the PayPal receipt (if you paid that way). If you bought
it from another site, have a look at your purchase history.

try searching for it.. it yields zero results.

can't even find it in my store inventory , only way is to find it is to search
for "1x2 black tile with" and start digging

Sometimes less is more - type in "4206" in the Search bar and it returns
the required tile (as well as other stuffage).

Unfortunately Lego colour naming does indeed differ from Bricklink's (and
other sites).

Here's a website that lists the Lego nomenclature and the BL alternative
- http://ryanhowerter.net/colors.php

Personally, I generally prefer the BL names for most colours - they make much
more sense to me.

Hello! I was wondering if the same colour shades for bricks get changed over
the years. For example, would a black or dark bluish grey brick today be the
exact same shade the same brick had 20 years ago or more? I know there are different
types of shades for colours like blue or grey, but a brick listed as being dark
bluish grey today and one listed as being dark bluish grey in the 90s or 2000s
are the exact same brick, right?

TBH the colour of bricks in a single set can differ significantly (white, dark
red and dark blue can be really bad from presonal experience), but in general
the colour is generally consistant. Don't expect a perfect match with any
two Lego piecess and you'll be OK... So, yeah. And no!

At an angle you can see where it should be. It's almost as if the "ink"
ran out before it was printed.

Could this be a misprint? Any value?

I have other tlm minis from the same seller that have the silver pattern in perfect
condition.

Photos are always a good way for us to compare what items should look like and
what the item actually looks like.

As for value, it's only as valuable as someone is prepared to pay and it's
probably of limited interest to the majority, but a collector of misprints might
consider it. But not without images

Page 70 clearly shows that there are two rockets for the rocket launcher (one
in Indy's hand and the other in the crate). Page 3 shows that you make these
two rockets (one with a launcher) with that piece.

It’s also on the cover: no need to open the book!

TBH I never even looked at the front cover. I'm also not the one that missed
it on multiple occasions

I reckon that Lego will produce his Star Destroyer next year which will include
him (and hopefully some of those funky Stormtroopers). Everyone knew Thrawn was
coming in Ahsoka, even before the show aired. Lego would have known this too.
I'm pretty sure that Lego would not ignore such a major character. Especially
one they know has a high value mini-fig already.

The frame is initially flimsy, but once the panels are all on it does improve
somewhat. It's not Venator solid, but it's not too bad.

What parts are falling apart? Do you have photos, so we can give possible suggestions?

Looked at the rejected BL designer program sets, which they are now selling as
MOCs.

The prices are exorbitant. I cannot justify paying 600 euro for a set that would
cost 400 euro at Lego.

Even if you don't like with the way Lego/BL has done the MOC Pop-Up Store,
you could still support the MOC creators by buying their instructions and then
purchase the parts as you see fit, from wherever you want.

Sure.

There is one set that I seriously wanted, but wasnt chosen for the MOC pilot
and the creator is in silence over multiple requests, from several people, so
provide instructions.

I love a few of the cabins/houses/huts but price is simply too high.

It might be worth asking again after the Pop-Up has finished. It's entirely
upto the creator though if they want to sell their instructions. They may also
hold them back for (or have entered) a BDP.

Personally (and this is just me), I wouldn't buy from anyone that just blanked
my questions/ghosted me. What if there are issues with the build?

-Correct me if I'm wrong but, Can't you only buy the instructions at
checkout with the rest of the parts order(s)? I though that was the deal here...
I was also under the impression that the instructions for these particular MOCs
were not going to be available anywhere else, at least not while they are actively
being sold in the MOC popup promotion.

Nope. There are ways and means. You don't have to do it that way.

The instructions can be sold anywhere at any time. Neither Lego or BrickLink
purchased the rights to the MOCs and the MOC content creator can do whatever
they want with them at any time. They can sell on alternative channels, give
them away for free, offer parts lists etc. etc. etc.

The instructions do not have to be sold only as part of the MOC Pop-Up store.

You are free to contact the MOC creators if you wish.

Baring that in mind, the MOC Pop Up store is just an experiment at this time
and Lego/BL will be getting lots of data and feedback about how it's working,
the problems with it and what people may want from it in the future. Let them
know your thoughts. They know that not everyone is happy, but it's just a
(small) experiment at this point, with no guarantee of a future. With more data,
more input and more sales it will likely return, but better. So, while you can
circum-navigate procedures, if you want to see more (but better) programmes in
the future, then perhaps give them feedback, or better still more money!!!

The prices are exorbitant. I cannot justify paying 600 euro for a set that would

Of course other sellers may have them in stock, but not listed. You might need
to look at multiple sellers with large stocks and buy that way. However you
do it, it's not going to be cheap!

So, yeah, halves and quarters aren't cylinders if you use that definition;

As for moving half the cylinmders, well if they don;t fit some sort of global
definition for cylinder, perhaps they were in the wrong place to start with?

Yeah, me too I can cherry pick one definition for each category in the catalogue
to make sure its parts don’t fit

For choosing names for categories, the question would be: do the parts fit at
least one of the common “global” definitions for the word.

For particular parts, the question would be: what differentiates that part from
the other parts that are already in that category and what would make it not
fit in that category?

Maybe Cylinder is a bad category and we should have Panel, Round for those panels
and something else for the other “cylinders” (Brick, Round? (Hemi)Spheres?).

I don't envy anyone deciding where each component should go - if you put
it in one, people will argue it should be in the other. Good luck to the Catalog
guys! They get it pretty much right, most of the time, methinks.

Make sure that you are using the highest level of detail in the options - sometimes
low detailed images cause collision issues.

"Collision" warnings can be turned off; just click the icon. Studio isn't
always 100% accurate with collisions (and even worse at low detail) - sometimes
it will show them when it shouldn't and vice versa - not show them when it
should.

If the NSS case has occurred and the seller has rated you negatively, you can
have that rating removed.

Only if the NSS is completed tho unless I’m mistaken. The seller can get it removed
if they refund or send tracking to the help desk tho

Yep. I issued an NSS which was cancelled by BrickLink (without consulting me)
and the seller gave me a Negative (retaliatory), which BL didn't remove.

Given that Bricklink is owned by LEGO, are you allowed to delete your ideas submission

Happy building!
~Matt

Unless you've sold the rights to your design, then they are yours to do with
as you please. As you are inferring the model is nearly three years old, I would
check that all your parts/colours are available in the upcoming/current BDP parts
catalog/palette if you wish to enter it. Lots of common (and not so common) parts
are not available for BDP as Lego may not be using them in consumer products
in the next year or two. If you set up Studio correctly with the recent BDP palette
and turn on recommended settings, you will be informed if parts/colours are no
longer available - if so, you will have to make changes.

Go for it!

Does anyone know what type of glue would be best for repairing such parts? I

It'd be cheaper just to replace the broken parts than buying any glue. Glue
will reduce the value of the set too.

This copy has a few parts in both old and new Dark Red. The quarter cylinders
are all new Dark Red, but 99% of the plates and bricks are the older shade. Luckily,
everything has survived the disassembly process. Did your copy have any new Dark
Red parts?

This particular copy appears to be from a very late production run. I wasn’t
aware that the 30652s come in both old and new Dark Red. My 2008 copy of 7048
only has old Dark Red, so the transition must have occurred halfway throughout
2008.

TBH I can't remember - this was a few years ago now. It definitely has (some)
newer dark red parts now though!

I’ve only had four modern Dark Red parts break, but I don’t own enough old Dark
Red to know if that color is as brittle.

It can be terribly brittle. I lost a fair number of dark red plates when disassembling
a Lego Star Wars Republic Cruiser (7665) and a few more on another SW set. Luckily
I could replace all of them fairly cheaply on BrickLink.

I've lost far more dark red parts than reddish brown (brittle brown), despite
having more reddish brown than dark red parts. Dark blue is another colour that
is brittle - although, tbf I don't recall having any db breakages.

The real brittle ones can just crumble in your fingers without any stress.

Lego is now giving VIP points when you scan a newer instructions with a QR code,
it's give 20 points (in Canada).

This could cause problems if a buyer buys a new instructions from a BL seller
and that BL seller has already scanned the QR code while parting.

I think a buyer should expect to be able to scan himself a new instruction he
bought on BL and have the points.

As for used instructions, a buyer should expect it's already scanned.

Your opinion ?

I suppose it will depend on if the instruction manual is "New" or "Used".
If "New", then I expect to be able to scan the code. If "Used",
then I wouldn't.
