The specific figure of 60% alongside the word "compromise" was an unusual
editorial choice. It piqued my curiosity and left me wondering if there was
some deeper meaning.

There was, in fact, and I'm glad you picked up on it. Many Americans know
neither history nor math.

But on BrickLink, Americans are a minority. I wouldn't expect a Canadian
high school dropout to know the significance of that fraction.

If USA, Minnesota means Minneapolis, I'm sorry.

But if you read the rest of my post, you'll see that I'm actually embracing
diversity. The last line is just a facetious suggestion, as ridiculous as the
original it parodies.

Is there a way to force update them so I do not order duplicates in the next
orders?

Or does that only work if you use easy buy?

thanks

Dax

At the top of every wanted list there is a button labeled Apply Order
that allows you to update the Have Qty with items from a recent order.

If you have multiple wanted lists, it helps to combine them into one before using.

The Easy Buy/Buy All algorithms and Auto-Fill Min will take the Have Qty into
account when shopping for a wanted list.

Hope that helps.

what i find fascinating is Lego has been pushing for Diversity...
yet.....they merge Variants

someone had too say it

Well, that's the thing: Some members believe that all variants are created
equal and that the catalog should include all variants regardless of their actual
prevalence, which seems quite reasonable.

But such a catalog would contain a dizzying array of variants. How useful would
it be to the average member?

There's no clear answer to that question, because there's no such thing
as the "average member"; we all come here for different reasons. Hence
the endless threads on variant merges.

Personally, I've to propose a compromise: Keep 60% of the variants in the
catalog…

I think it's a year or two or three (or longer) that I see this message in
the set-up of a wanted list:

Share Wanted List - Feature coming soon!

On the other hand who would need this feature while you can send the XML or studio
file to friends, or post your MOC on rebrickable and other places.

I guess they had this idea and then realized it's not worth developping it,
hence the "soon"?

The problem is that not everyone is so tech savvy.

It is easier to just click a button that says "Share" than to download
it as a file, upload the file as an email attachment, download the file again,
and then reupload it to BrickLink.

I sell PDF instructions in my store. I've had to explain to many buyers how
to upload the XML file to their wanted list so they can order the parts. Some
don't even know what the XML file is for.

There are instances where it would be convenient to be able to share a wanted
list with another member:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1399267
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1448305

But, knowing BrickLink, they may feel that the effort required to develop the
new feature is simply not worth it, even if it would be useful.

Even the effort required to remove the "Coming Soon" text seems too much.

For MOCs, Rebrickable and the Studio Gallery make sharing easier, but that doesn't
work if you just have a list of parts and not a MOC or if your Studio Gallery
listing contains the word "LEGO".

I get what you are saying. What I had in mind were the situations where seller
is either non-responsive, not following with his or her proposed solutions for
weeks, or offering a solution that is completely unsuitable.

I might still be willing to accept the fact that a mistake has been made and
allow the seller to address it. Before leaving a negative feedback I might message
the seller, letting know my intentions in advance. Not meant as a threat, but
more as a last-resort in an effort to get the seller's attention.

How it is worse than leaving a negative FB right away?

I think what infinibrix is saying is that buyers shouldn't have to threaten
to leave negative feedback in order to get the seller to perform their basic
responsibilities. If you have to threaten negative feedback to get the seller
to act, then they already deserve it.

Of course, what deserves negative feedback is very subjective. I wouldn't
leave negative feedback if my order is mostly complete yet missing a few small
pieces, but some buyers are more forgiving of small mistakes than others.

Yes, you should worry. Three years is way too long. This person needs LEGO now.
Ship their order ASAP using Priority Mail Express. Check the tracking information
twice daily to make sure it gets delivered on time. File a Missing Mail Search
if it's late.

  Dear BrickLink members,

The LEGO Group released the following statement regarding the war in Ukraine.

Our thoughts are with all the children and families suffering as a result of
the war in Ukraine.
Our priority is the safety of all our colleagues. We are in contact with our
Ukrainian team and are providing ongoing support to ensure their safety. We are
also working to support other colleagues around the world impacted by the escalating
crisis including our team in Russia.

We have paused shipments of products to Russia given the extensive disruption
to the operating environment.

We care deeply about the lasting impact on children and together with the LEGO
Foundation and Ole Kirk’s Fond, we will donate DKK 110 million (approx. USD 16.5
million) to emergency relief efforts, with a focus on providing support for children
and families. The donation will be made to existing partners, including the United
Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Save the Children, and the Danish Red Cross.

This is a volatile and constantly evolving situation which we are monitoring
closely.
What does this mean for BrickLink?

The global payment platforms we use on BrickLink are currently not available
in Russia and deliveries to and from the country are severely disrupted. Given
this, buying and selling activities in Russia will be temporarily deactivated.
Members impacted by this will be informed individually.

We are grateful for everyone in our community and never imagined we would face
a situation such as this or witness the heartbreak and devastation we’re seeing
in Ukraine.

Please continue to adhere to our community guidelines and show each other respect
and support.

Thank you for your understanding.
The BrickLink team

The content of the work is my original work.
This is not a derivative work.
The same goes for the characters that appear.

One thing to be concerned about is that since parts from the Bionicle and Hero
Factory series are used, the designs of those parts themselves may have intellectual
property rights.

I have attached an image as an example.
The armor on the shoulders, chest, and arms are from the Hero Factory series.
Does the armor design itself have copyright or intellectual property rights?

“Pronoun,” you keep using that word.  I do not think it means what you think
it means.

it

/it/

pronoun

used to refer to a thing previously mentioned or easily identified.
"a room with two beds in it"

referring to an animal or child of unspecified sex.
"she was holding the baby, cradling it and smiling into its face"

referring to a fact or situation previously mentioned, known, or happening.
"stop it, you're hurting me"

*facepalm

Proper Noun ( not a Pronoun)

According to Wikipedia, the name "LEGO" is a contraction of the Danish
words "leg godt" which means "play well" in English.
