I think it depends on your daughter. The set will be worth more if she doesn't
open it. However, the pure joy of building it is priceless. It is like football
tickets. Sure you can resell them them for thousands of dollars and then watch
the game on TV, but the pure joy of experiencing it in person is worth the cost.

Good analogy, Pam. Thanks

Hope this doesn't come across as strange but...

What can you share with me about

Set No: 910001 Name: Castle in the Forest
*
910001-1 (Inv) Castle in the Forest
1928 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 1 Gear, 2021
Sets: BrickLink Designer Program
My daughter who just received the set as a Lego Employee Christmas gift, asked
me about it. I sheepishly told her I know nothing about the "BrickLink Designer
Program" sets. Never did paid attention to the program since launched in
2019, I'm ashamed to say

I appreciate all/any input, which I might pass onto her. Thanks

I know a lot of people prefer to keep theirs sealed but I built mine as soon
as I received it. I'll say I'm not a fan of it lacking instructions...
It was hard understanding them at time due to the various angles and my phone
overheated a lot trying to render the 3D images.

It's a good display piece though. I'd only sell it if you're looking
to make money because as time goes on, more and more of these are bound to be
opened and built. I don't regret building mine.

  Hello

I Have just gone threw a bulk purchase and found one blue brick made of a hard
rubber.
It has the lego logo on all the studs but no holes underneath to stack, it is
solid.
It is also slightly undersized.

Is this a genuine thing from somewhere?

Cheers

I'll take a wild guess that if rubbed on a pencil mark it will remove it.
"Eraser"

😂 I think you may be right. That option didn't even cross my mind. To deep
in a Oh whats this part hole... Cheers

If she doesn't think she'll enjoy building it, she should keep it sealed
and get her dad to sell it!

It's quite a famous set. It was the reason we decided to sell 10,000 copies
instead of 5,000 for the BDP invitational series. Being one of the first to go
through a new process, it has a number of unique characteristics you will not
see elsewhere, including the story of the red crab.

It is also in a line of outstanding castle sets:

Set No: BL19001 Name: Löwenstein Castle
*
BL19001-1 (Inv) Löwenstein Castle
2002 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2019
Sets: BrickLink Designer Program

This last one will be sold in the spring, and we don't know exactly how it
will fare. But it is beautiful and huge.

They are beautifully designed sets for sure.

Thank you, Russell

  ah ok i misunderstood.
value wise its been pretty solid

opinion wise it is the most popular designer program set released. it was the
first to sell out (was under 10 minutes for the first 5,000 I think I can confirm
it was less then 2 hours but I'm pretty sure it was much faster https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1278593
