Dawn soap and water

This has never once worked for me, the only thing that has ever worked is letting
them air out, sometimes for years.

Yes, mine changed before I saw the "Hey we changed the labels" notification.

The only thing I don't love is the relocated rubber stamp but I just need

We just opened them (damaged box sets) and unlike the year before when we did
the same thing this time around we found quite a few damaged elements.

Anyone else have this happen?

Very odd. The minor damage on the box should not have had such defined damage
on the elements.

Not here. Damaged box sets are usually perfect for a parts seller.

A strange thing I have seen recently was a part swapped out for a completely
unrelated part, that was pretty odd to me. The only other thing was this little
baby short shot, my first ever.

HI All
I have the old 9V holiday train and the 9V has finally died. I'd really like
to make it go again but I am absolutely not up to speed on all the new motors
and what not. Whats the best way to get it moving again with new parts?
TIA
Jason

I have to agree, if just the motor died why not just go get a new 9v motor?
The lack of giant battery box plus the cost of batteries makes it a much less
desirable option if you already have all the 9v components.

Most of the retrofits of the PF components make the tender look a little funny
due to the size of the battery box.

In China, the street information often has the form of [Town name] - [Village
name] - Street (Road) name -[Block number]- House number. The components within
the brackets [ ] are optional components in the address, and may often be omitted.

- Town name: The town name is usually followed by the suffix 镇 , 乡, or 堡.
- Village name: The village name is usually followed by the suffix 村, 新村.
- Street (Road) name: The street (road) name is usually followed by one of these
suffixes 路, 大道, 街, 大街, 里.
- Block number: The block number is usually followed by one of these suffixes
弄 , 巷 , 厅 , 胡同.
- House number: The house number is followed by the suffix 号, and the house name
is a unique number within the block or street/road.

Pulled from an SAP help pages but you get the idea. You can google each one
or potions of them to determine which goes into what field you need to fill.

You can also use the Business name/company as well, that is an additional field
that will be added to the CN22. Lastly If I get an address that gives me even
the slightest amount of trouble I'll print a second label with their name
and address and slap it on the other side of the box exactly how they sent it
to me.

If you are truly stuck send me a message and I might be able to help decipher
the exact address to enter into the label creation process.

Agreed. I do like the quote option that many provide, the last step of checkout
you can quote instead of complete purchase if they have it enabled.

Though I did just make a large purchase from a polish store that had excellent
shipping breakdown in their terms and it was 100% spot on upon receipt of invoice.

Keep your eye's out for stores like this. I do know that a few countries
mail services have significant price differences based upon the thickness of
items and know that Royal Mail is one of those, often thickness questions show
up in the forums.

ship them in large bubble envelopes or boxes? Large envelopes seem the most economical
but I'm concerned about damage to the plates. Boxes seem the most safe but
more costly to ship. What are your recommendations? Thanks.

Shocked no one mentioned this but I use record mailers. You can make them skinny
if they only order a couple baseplates or a bit bigger to add parts with baseplates.

They are cheap/lightweight and easy to use.

You best bet is to use Brickstore. You can download your store into brickstore,
change there or edit the bsx file manually with a notepad program. Then highlight
all of it and export - mass update (bottom box on page that opens), click verify
file, then submit updates.

Bulk minfigure lots would be best sourced on other platforms designed for bulk.
On BL you pay a premium because they are checked for quality and are also identified
parts. Sometimes sellers list bulk but they can be a bit tricky to find.

I'd say check those other bulk and auction sites and even sites like etsy.
The alternative is your post may have been seen by someone with bulk minifig
parts and may setup a listing for you but I would say that would be fairly rare.

Seems like this would be a pretty fun idea, I would have liked this to go along
with my wife's idea of a little candy station.

IDK what you are seeing, but I am seeing 99.77% feedback with over 12,000 orders,
that is pretty darn good, IMO.

If you click on a store, and select feedback it will show the statistics for
the last 6 months, kind of a way to see where a store might be headed. This
seller does actually have excellent feedback overall, I hope to have that kind
of percentage over 12k orders!

People in glass houses, and all that, you know.

Not sure that phase makes sense here, while I do have shortcomings (obviously),
it has never been a lack of customer service. Someday I might just forget to

During this time when they were still removable there were some serious quality
issues with the parts, particularly red ones.

I have some royal guards from the same era from magnet sets and the red is very
off, almost slightly translucent.

Hey Brian,

Just a heads up, you can use the appears in search to fairly easily find these
partial builds. It may take a bit of time to identify 3 parts and their color
but this search is amazing if you spend a couple minutes using it (for the future).
Sometimes, if you pick generic parts, you may have to do it twice then cross
reference the results

Also very helpful for evaluating lots you haven't purchased yet.

I am a bit surprised about this as well. Using PayPal credit was always an option
until somewhat recently. I assumed it wasn't available because my last 2
orders involved a different currency and maybe it wasn't offered for currency
conversion transactions but then I just tried with an order from Big B (clearly
a business account) and PP credit was not an option.

They should definitely think about resolving this as PP credit is a very valuable
tool to use, this is the first site I have seen that accepts PayPal but will
not take PP credit, must be something going on behind the scenes. Would be nice
to know they know there is a problem and it is being worked on.

If you think this is not a big deal as a seller think about it like; all of a
sudden they stopped accepting Amex payments and didn't tell anyone (or any
one of the major credit companies).

what u think?

I don't think the pip can be used definitively in parts that are still in
production as they may have changed. I think it is the first indicator to make
you suspect a clone part though as the pip locations seems to rarely change.

In these cases you can usually determine fake part by closely examining the details
of the items, particularly with a loupe. The rounded edges are usually the biggest
giveaway of clone parts that seem close but lack that attention to detail Lego
is famous for.

You risk breaking the torso taking the arms out and putting new ones in. The
new arms you put in might also be very loose. The only reason why you would
do this is if you had cracked arms already and wanted to replace them, otherwise
it is a very bad idea. You might try to purchase an armless torso and add more
modern dark brown arms to it. There are also similar older and more modern torsos
you could buy and use that might give you the look you want, though a lot of
them have a braid of hair.

Can it be declined, can a message be sent? Surely ignoring 1/2 the people that

This on the heels of "Hey look, our support tickets now get answered in a

Sadly fallen on deaf ears, even other forum moderators don't do it. Too
bad, on more modern forums it's done by default and you can generally click
to expand for those who don't snip the text themselves.

You could also adopt instant checkout and virtually eliminate NPBs completely.

Seems like an obvious choice to me!

You may be mixing ugly and boring, my son and I have played with this bargain
train set for hours on end. It may be horrible to look at but it has a ton of
play features, more than most train sets even.

wrong orders to customers.... Really don't know how I managed it.. Only two,
customer A got Customer B order and vice versa.... I'm such a Doofus!

Just wanted to share my little episode of ineptitude..

Yes, it's the worst.

I have done it, and it sucks. Just happened to have 2 orders going to the same
postal code on the same weekend and of course 50/50 shot managed to get it wrong.
Now with Pirate ship I paste in the order number under the "rubber stamp"
section and stick them on based upon order number not postal code.

As crappy as mistakes are they certainly teach us a lot and make us better sellers!

Why not just say free shipping to the European Union and EEA, or whatever criteria
it is that you use to give free shipping rather than using a wider area and excluding
people as you choose not to ship to them.

All apologies, Something in the way.

what do you use to label acro drawers. getting ready to start switching from
bins to the drawers. hopefully speed up picking orders

Used to use a handheld dymo but upgraded to a Brother P-Touch PRO-XL (PC-9500)
you can buy for $50 or so used on eBay. I can use a ton of different sizes and
make them all cut to perfect length.

Can print a set of 60 labels in about 2 minutes with no effort as you can use
an excel sheet as a database to print any number you want. Takes a heck of a
lot longer to apply them to the drawers than make them.

Also, you can go into your Bricksync\data\logs folder and open them to find out
exactly why this happened.

I have a bsx backup file from my inventory (from Bricksync) but have no idea
how to make this the new inventory for Bricklink.

What's the best way to go from here?

First download your current inventory as a worse case scenario backup.

Directly from the developer:

Steps to restore that backup:
#0 Shutdown BrickSync
#1 Copy that backup BSX file to bricksync/data/bricksync.inventory.bsx
#2 Run BrickSync
#3 Type "sync"

Make sure your store is open, can change the buy limit to a huge number temporarily.

Thanks a lot for your help. It looks like you're an expert on this

I'm still working up the courage to take this step. After the backup was
saved I received 2 large orders with a total of 279 lots.

I assume I have to manually deduct this from the updated stock?

Can you use the sub command in Brincksync and then use the relevant order files
from bricksync/data/orders?

Thanks again for your help.

I never use commands in bricksync other than blmaster on/off as I tried that
once and set all my remarks to the BL part number, basically the reason why I
have an email on how to restore a backup from the developer. The easiest way
to adjust inventory is to open each order in brickstore, mulitply by -1 and upload.
You should not have any orders after the latest backup as each order triggers
a backup of inventory.

Now if you had your store closed on bricklink but not brickowl, and those orders
came in on BO then the sync should trigger and subtract those parts from your
BL inventory.

Closed my store last weekend. Was about to open it again today and saw that my
inventory almost doubled in lots as well as items! I did nothing in between,
except from packing orders. Had my Brick Owl shop closed as well.

What could have happened?

Can I revert to my inventory from Sunday?

Help needed!

Did you also stop the software you use to keep your stock in both stores correct?

Generally bricksync does not work that way, it is far more likely for a closed
bricklink shop to wipe out all parts on brick owl as a closed store will look
like 0 parts in inventory.

But the doubling has me wondering what might have happened. You don't possibly
have 2 bricksync locations do you? Running an old copy of bricksync with a stale
state file can really cause major havoc.

CTRL + SHIFT + T

But as another said, don't use bricklink to edit locations on a large part
out. To be fair bricklink didn't do anything wrong, you made a mistake that
was painful to fix (been there myself). Use Brickstock and save frequently for
your own peace of mind.
