| | I guess you could just order them and tell the seller you don't want the
extra parts.
|
But the total weight will be higher. It will require manual effort by the seller
to remove the items and so on.
Also with instant checkout, the order might be in a next, more expensive weight
band .

I looked in each menu, and did not find settings related to the "Items For
Sale" menu. I was able to change the defaults for the "Price Guide"
menu, but I want to change settings for the "Items for Sale" menu.
|
You cannot set such a filter in the "for sale" / browsing menu. It has
been asked for many times but never acted upon.

for these fields.

Hover over the My BL icon at the top of any page. Select "Settings" which
is on the right of the dropdown menu. Go through each one and set your preferences.
The shopping settings will allow you to choose either USA or North America.
Once you have set your preferences, you should not have to recheck them each

Sigh. I'm sorry I confused people with the charity part. Forget the charity

I DO understand the reason for a min. buy.
The main part is really simple: add an amount of money to an order without actually

It's not!
Re-read?
* people would pay extras to the seller without providing BrickLink fees on
sales,
which isn't correct,
* shops will then have silly competitive prices (down to zero), but will simply
ask for "an extra donation of 10€"
* what about taxes, are this donation dubject to VAT, Sales taxes, whatever?
* PayPal: will not allow partial refund, so the donation will be refunded in
case of problem...
etc.
Solutions:
* buy in good shops with no minimum, like, ermmmm... mine
* buy the minimum because it's what the shop seller wants.
He doesn't want more money for the same order, just a "better" order.

It's not "a threshold": a minimum sale is a minimum.
It's a policy, a term, a choice from the seller.
|
Euh, it's still a treshold you need to reach before being able to buy. But
it's just discussing the meaning of words now.

Millions of problems with this proposal, which wants to ignore people ask a minimum
sale *for reasons*.

"Millions". Really?
But as I have answered just now in another reply:
I'm sorry I confused people with the charity part. Forget the charity part.
Or even the term "donation".
The main part is really simple: add an amount of money to an order without actually
ordering extra items to reach that min. buy. Just to be able to buy the part
you really need, without forcing you to search for extra items raising the shipping
fee, while still satisfying the seller having his min. income on the order.

You could even think about linking the extra money to a charity. If the seller

the buyer pays the gap to charity (preferably managed by BrickLink, so the surplus
is automatically donated to charity).

Also, if a seller wants to do that, they could remove their min buy and put a
fee for small orders instead.
They could even make custom, weihtless items for that: “PDF instructions for
charity X” and give instructions for a very simple model. It could even be a
real model related to the charity.
|
A lot of effort for a single store to make, when the feature could just be "in
the platform" for the seller to use (if they want to).
Besides: you would need a lot of items for various prices to complete the gap.
