selling when it happened because I started selling in November of last year.)
Where do you get them and at what price?

I look for the ones that are "Used" on Amazon - typically just the box
is banged up

If I use Priority Mail I typically use my own boxes with the commercial Priority
Mail Cubic rates through Pirate Ship. Sometimes UPS Ground (also through Pirate
Ship) turns out to be cheaper and I use that instead. Flat rate isn't worth
it in most cases unless you're sending something heavy (and Lego are not
heavy).

Do you ever bother with FedEx or is it just UPS that is sometimes cheaper?

UPS is sometimes cheaper than USPS Priority Mail. I don't bother with FedEx
as I don't have a way of accessing commercial rates from them. The retail
UPS rate would never be cheaper.

Try closing all bricklink tabs and then clearing browser cache and cookies and
then exit your browser and then open them again

I would try it in an incognito window first (without logging in)

IIRC the only option when changing an item's name is to enter a completely
new name (of course you can copy and paste).

  Thanks! They should seriously consider changing that, as I'm sure the majority
of used sets no longer have their instructions and even more so without their
box. It forces sellers with complete sets to mix their listings in with the incomplete
ones.

The rules for used sets are different

  Hey yall,
I have recently acquired the garbage truck getaway 7599, after a year or so of
searching. I found a slight misprint in the instructions, this misprint is also
in the physical booklet.

The minifigure, Twitch has 2 antenna on his head, but the manual shows this rare
piece as only needing one.

What do you think? I thought it was a bit odd.

Same error in the online instructions

  I understand the 3626 numbering as far as tha first letter a/b/c but what dictates
the next 1/2 letters.

"pb" is, I think, "printed brick" or "patterned brick"

The first letter (a, b, or c) refers to the type of head

a = solid stud
b = blocked open stud
c = hollow stud

So a hollow stud printed head would be 3626cpbxxxx, e.g.

Part No: 3626cpb1700 Name: Minifigure, Head Alien with Black Eyebrow, Dark Azure Mechanical Left Eye, Silver Head Plate, Medium Nougat Chin Dimple, Frown Pattern - Hollow Stud
*
3626cpb1700 Minifigure, Head Alien with Black Eyebrow, Dark Azure Mechanical Left Eye, Silver Head Plate, Medium Nougat Chin Dimple, Frown Pattern - Hollow Stud
Parts: Minifigure, Head {Yellow}

"vented stud" heads are under a different part number entirely:

[P=28621]

  Hi!
I'm new to this group and after putting all my sets back together (they were
all sorted by color), I've decided to get rid of them. My husband says bring
them to goodwill. I thought that maybe someone might be interested in purchasing
my sets. I have 47 sets - some are complete, some have pieces missing. I have
a list of all the set numbers and pieces missing (by item number and qty).

I'm in Minnesota.

Anyone interested?

Thanks
Karin

You need a seller's account to sell on here and it takes time to get verified.
You'd probably be better served by listing them on FB marketplace

  In the last hour or two I have been messaging stores that I placed orders with
and had an issue with an item or more.

I’ve been very polite and asked if the items could be replaced, leaving it to
them to suggest a resolution.

I now find my self stoplisted by someone, seriously !

I’ll not lose sleep over it but I do wonder what their reaction would have been
if I’d just posted negative feedback, I’ve already posted positive feedback for
a couple of these stores as the odd mistake is not the end of the world.

Now to check if they’ve posted negative feedback too.

Sometimes I get the impression that there are sellers who think they're doing
buyers a favor allowing them to order from their stores.

Thanks in advance.

  Hi, I am a new seller, I just found out my only option for receiving payment
is through paypal, but I can't seem to find an option for adding a % for
paying through paypal. (I don't want to lose another 3%, so would like the
buyer to pay this.)

Or do I add this % as a shipping and handling fee?

Why not just increase your prices a bit?

  I was wondering if any of you have ever had an issue with new member buyers trying
to scam you or anything like that. I haven’t had a problem with them so far
but there seem to be a lot of new members buying from my store. I don’t think
there’s any reason to worry but it’s also interesting that bricklink tells you
they’re new members if there hasn’t been a problem in the past.

I once had an issue with a new buyer placing an order and not paying. But most
new buyers are great, in fact I welcome them to my store.

  Aren't the fees PayPal gets on transactions enough to solve disputes?
These charges for disputes sound like scams

they often are but whether thru stripe or Paypal it's always a $20 or so
fee as a slap in the face basically

And Stripe recently changed their terms so that you get dinged for the $15 even
if you win (because they get charged by the bank regardless)

  As I am sitting here building 10316-1, I suddenly wondered why Elrond put Bilbo
up. I know Bilbo helped Thorin, but did he help Elrond? Will Elrond put up
anyone who will follow the rules?

Because Elrond (and Gandalf) knew Sauron had captured Gollum and tried to (and
continued to) use him to get to the Ring. They knew Bilbo was likely next and
so him being in Rivendell both protected him but also protected any information
he knew about the Ring.

So he was a prisoner and didn't know it or didn't own it.

In a way yes - when Bilbo first sees Frodo again in Rivendell after *checks notes*
18 years or so, he mentions that he thought of going back for the Ring but that
Gandalf and Elrond wouldn't let him:

"I hear all kinds of news, from over the Mountains, and out of the South,
but hardly anything from the Shire. I heard about the Ring, of course. Gandalf
has been here often. Not that he has told me a great deal, he has become closer
than ever these last few years. The Dunadan has told me more. Fancy that ring
of mine causing such a disturbance! It is a pity that Gandalf did not find out
more sooner. I could have brought the thing here myself long ago without so much
trouble. I have thought several times of going back to Hobbiton for it; but I
am getting old, and they would not let me: Gandalf and Elrond, I mean. They seemed
to think that the Enemy was looking high and low for me, and would make mincemeat
of me, if he caught me tottering about in the Wild."

  That’s what NET weight would mean

AFAIK, you will have to sum all the individual weights.
Maybe BrickStore can do it for you.

Problem: the same part can have different weights IRL, depending on colour (transparent
parts in PC are heavier) or depending on the variant.

  If not, every set has normally its weight indicated.

Note that this one can vary too IRL: some sets have leaflets / catalogues or
different versions of the instructions (different language for instance).

You could make an educated guess by taking the weight of the set and subtracting
the weights of the box and instructions.

e.g.

Set No: 10497 Name: Galaxy Explorer
*
10497-1 (Inv) Galaxy Explorer
1219 Parts, 5 Minifigures, 2022
Sets: Space: Classic Space

The weight of the set, in box, is 1758g; the weight of the instructions is 290g;
and the weight of the box is 264g. So the parts plus bags (which are *very* light)
should weigh about 1204g (approximately 2 lbs 10 oz). Of course BL doesn't
have weights for every box and instruction booklet.

As long as your customers paid onsite the sales taxes were collected by BrickLink
and remitted to the proper authorities. No need to worry.

When I file my quarterly sales and use taxes return in my state I list all of
my BL sales as exempt.
