Can someone point me in the right direction to move all my store items to a stockroom
in one go.

If I can, presumably I can then put each item back into store one part at a time,
hope someone can advise.

Store is closed at present.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am a new seller, I just found out my only option for receiving payment
is through paypal, but I can't seem to find an option for adding a % for
paying through paypal. (I don't want to lose another 3%, so would like the
buyer to pay this.)

Or do I add this % as a shipping and handling fee?

Why not just increase your prices a bit?

I was wondering if any of you have ever had an issue with new member buyers trying
to scam you or anything like that. I haven’t had a problem with them so far
but there seem to be a lot of new members buying from my store. I don’t think
there’s any reason to worry but it’s also interesting that bricklink tells you
they’re new members if there hasn’t been a problem in the past.

I once had an issue with a new buyer placing an order and not paying. But most
new buyers are great, in fact I welcome them to my store.

These charges for disputes sound like scams

they often are but whether thru stripe or Paypal it's always a $20 or so
fee as a slap in the face basically

And Stripe recently changed their terms so that you get dinged for the $15 even
if you win (because they get charged by the bank regardless)

As I am sitting here building 10316-1, I suddenly wondered why Elrond put Bilbo
up. I know Bilbo helped Thorin, but did he help Elrond? Will Elrond put up
anyone who will follow the rules?

Because Elrond (and Gandalf) knew Sauron had captured Gollum and tried to (and
continued to) use him to get to the Ring. They knew Bilbo was likely next and
so him being in Rivendell both protected him but also protected any information
he knew about the Ring.

So he was a prisoner and didn't know it or didn't own it.

In a way yes - when Bilbo first sees Frodo again in Rivendell after *checks notes*
18 years or so, he mentions that he thought of going back for the Ring but that
Gandalf and Elrond wouldn't let him:

"I hear all kinds of news, from over the Mountains, and out of the South,
but hardly anything from the Shire. I heard about the Ring, of course. Gandalf
has been here often. Not that he has told me a great deal, he has become closer
than ever these last few years. The Dunadan has told me more. Fancy that ring
of mine causing such a disturbance! It is a pity that Gandalf did not find out
more sooner. I could have brought the thing here myself long ago without so much
trouble. I have thought several times of going back to Hobbiton for it; but I
am getting old, and they would not let me: Gandalf and Elrond, I mean. They seemed
to think that the Enemy was looking high and low for me, and would make mincemeat
of me, if he caught me tottering about in the Wild."

That’s what NET weight would mean

AFAIK, you will have to sum all the individual weights.
Maybe BrickStore can do it for you.

Problem: the same part can have different weights IRL, depending on colour (transparent
parts in PC are heavier) or depending on the variant.

If not, every set has normally its weight indicated.

Note that this one can vary too IRL: some sets have leaflets / catalogues or
different versions of the instructions (different language for instance).

You could make an educated guess by taking the weight of the set and subtracting
the weights of the box and instructions.

e.g.

Set No: 10497 Name: Galaxy Explorer
*
10497-1 (Inv) Galaxy Explorer
1219 Parts, 5 Minifigures, 2022
Sets: Space: Classic Space

The weight of the set, in box, is 1758g; the weight of the instructions is 290g;
and the weight of the box is 264g. So the parts plus bags (which are *very* light)
should weigh about 1204g (approximately 2 lbs 10 oz). Of course BL doesn't
have weights for every box and instruction booklet.

As long as your customers paid onsite the sales taxes were collected by BrickLink

When I file my quarterly sales and use taxes return in my state I list all of

How is this store still being allowed to sell on BL?

I guess not enough of the people leaving negative feedback are starting NSSs?

Anyway, I agree with Nubs - start an NSS and file a PayPal claim (if you paid
via PayPal ... I see some feedback suggesting he only accepts bank transfers).

*
973p70c01 (Inv) Torso Bomber Jacket and Black T-Shirt Pattern / Brown Arms / Yellow Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

Both are in the catalogue in Brown and Reddish Brown, though neither the brown
one with reddish brown arms, nor the reddish brown one with brown arms, actually
exist in sets (obviously). I suspect they should be consolidated?
Cheers,
Patrick

The first torso was only released in reddish brown, the second torso only in
brown. Since they have different arm colors (reddish brown/brown), the different
entries are correct. and will not be changed or merged in any way.

It may be just me an my monitor, but the pictures look like they could use some
color correction. The brown version looks reddish brown to me.

I do not have a PP business account and the taxes seem to come out just fine.

But I don't know why they're holding out on Minas Tirith. When Lego LOTR
was announced, if they had said they were only doing 3 sets, I would have bet
anything that Minas Tirith would be one of them, or at least a section of
it like the Uruk-hai Army set has a section of Helm's Deep. In my eyes, the
Battle of Pelennor Fields is a no-brainer set: it could have a part of the Minas
Tirith wall, Eowyn, the Witch King, the orc general Gothmog, a Fellbeast, and
maybe even a Mumakil and the Haradrim, none of which have yet to be produced
by Lego. It might be the biggest missing piece in the Lego LOTR lineup, it's
like the whole design and marketing teams skipped that part of the movie

I would do the gates of Minas Tirith with Grond, minifigures would be Gandalf
upon Shadowfax and the Witch-king plus assorted orcs and trolls.

  Greetings All,

Lately I am traveling quite a bit for work, and have very little time to invest
in this hobby. My splash page does say that orders will be delayed because of
this.

An ungrateful/impatient &^#$* buyer wrote me about his order, I replied to them
immediately (3 days ago), and now he decided to file an NRS against me.

How bad is an NRS for reputation?

Thank You,
SDH Bricks.

If it's completed the buyer can still leave negative feedback while you won't
be able to leave feedback in response. It also counts as one of three NRS/NSS
strikes that will close the store. Again, if it's completed.

So you might want to take steps to address it now before it's completed.

He's not named in the movie credits, I think, because his role is not a speaking

in the film, played by the same actor who played Gimli, is supposed to be Gloin

This. Florida's state sales tax is 6%, but there are also local taxes. If
like me you're in Palm Beach County, the county adds another 1%.

I just checked a recent order I got from Florida and it was taxed at 7.5%. I
googled the city's sales tax and sure enough, its combined sales tax rate

Forty to 50%? That seems very high, I hardly ever see figures with accessories
included.

In Catalog, calsbricks writes:
Could we introduce a suffix based system to differentiate between the two types
– so sw0001 has an alternative sw0001a01 ? The software already allows for this
so not much development time would be required and that would ensure the price
guide is more accurate than it currently is.

How would that possibly be enforced?

After I finished it and ran it around for about 2 minutes checking to make sure

it. This led me to think about my favorite theme which led me to think about
my top 3 and top 5 themes.

1) Harry Potter-I am super passionate about this theme!
2) Western
3) Castle & Ninjago are pretty much tied
4) Town / City

What is / are your favorite theme(s)?

ebay and other sites.

Also the people selling the parts have to buy the set in the first place!

the standard parts has been uploaded some 10 days ago, but not a single one of
the new parts has been included. I wonder if there is a political order by TLG

All inventories are done by volunteers - I see that this one is already pending
approval so someone is working on it. In fact you can see that it's progressed
pretty far already and is in good hands:

No need for any conspiracy theories about TLG or or the BL admins.

I am finding t5hat if I get a price on UPS that when I go to paypal and ship
it with ship station it can be so far up to $7.00 cheaper. So you just usually
use the quote from the USPS or UPS site?

I would not quote a retail rate (which is what you will find if you go to USPS
or UPS) if you can buy the postage at a commercial rate - take the commercial
rate and add a small amount for handling (say, $0.50 to $1.00). Your customers
will appreciate your inexpensive shipping.

I don't see a crack in the dark blue torso. The brown one, maybe - it's
possible it's a seam. Does it appear to widen if you wiggle the arm in the
socket?

In Help, Brick_professor writes:

This week I have bought some special star wars figures for my personal collection.
I paid a lot for it because quality is the most important for me, so I asked
every seller if all the figures were free from cracks (they al checked the figures
and said: Yes).
However I do find some small stressmarks/scratches/cracks under the arms of 2
figures (please check the pictures).
Can anyone please tell me if this are cracks or not, I really have no clue.
If you need more pictures, for example in dark with a flashligt, let me know.
Thanks in advance

Kind regards,

Arne

and it was later revealed he stepped on a Lego brick and ceased to exist

Nubs_Select believed his years of collecting Lego had toughened his feet to the
point at which he could step on a 2x4 brick and feel no pain. And so when he
came downstairs and saw a silver 2x4 brick on the floor, he went to step on it
even though his feet were bare. "I have the hardened feet of a karate champion,"
he said to himself; but upon reflection he decided to pick up the silver brick
instead and stow it carefully away, lest he damage the delicate piece with one
of his many thick calluses.

Later that same day, he resolved that, should he find another Lego brick on the
floor, he would indeed test the strength of his bare foot against it. And so
when he saw the strange, dull black brick on the floor - it's probably not
even Lego, he thought - if it gets broken I will just throw it away and it won't
be any loss! when he saw it, he pulled the fluffy sock from his right foot and
stepped on the brick. Unfortunately, the brick was an experiment by Lego in a
new material - antimatter ABS - and when his foot came down upon the brick and
he put all his wait upon it, the magnetic containment field that allowed the
brick to be handled safely shattered, and both Nubs_Select and the brick disappeared
in a cloud of particles, never to be seen again.

This guy is shipping chineese knock off parts, not original lego.

How am I 100% sure?
Simple: I bought myself these chineese knock off, and was not happy with the
quality.
This is why i am now buying exclusively original parts.
I keep these chineese knock off in a box as to not mix them with original Lego
parts.

These chineese parts have a slightly different mechanical design and it is easy
to spot a knock off from an original.

Yes, typically the studs won't have the Lego logo on them - is that the case?

Do you have a custom invoice? There may be something wrong with it that is causing
this error and preventing its being sent. I've never tried to customize my
invoice and I can send one with no problem.

In Technical Issues, Kathleen_55 writes:
Yes I still get the error page, I have contacted BL help and have been issued
a ticket. Their answer is that I am trying to avoid paying taxes, and if it continues
my store will be suspended indefinitely. I'm 67 yrs and not PC savvy unfortunaly,
I have been going over YouTube video's and nothing is said about the sending
of a invoice where taxes are applied.

To make myself a little more clearer, I don't have self check-out and I was
always able to send a invoice to a US buyer until the taxes came into affect.
The page I get states “The page cannot be displayed because an internal server
error has occurred”

Also Just to let anyone know I CAN send a invoice to the US when there are no
taxes a few are out there (or at least they were) I haven't see any lately.

Any help/advice thanks. Kathleen Onebrick@atime

I already shipped items to buyer. Sent Paypal invoice. Paid fees. Buyer paid

There is no option to choose "shipped" only "ready", "packed","processing",
"pending"....so status can't get to completed.

Has it been a while since you've sold on BrickLink? Things have changed a
bit starting in 2020. BrickLink collects sales tax (and VAT in the EU) now, so
if the buyer orders from a place where BL collects tax, payment has to be made
on-site (and the invoice should be sent from BL).

If you collected sales tax on the order, at the very least you should refund
that to the buyer since you have no way of remitting it (unless you and the buyer
happen to be in the same state and you're registered with the state).

The design is great but I'm not crazy about the color. Of course it's
Star Wars so it's going to be gray. But it would look much better in classic

The buyer pays the sales tax (USA) or VAT (EU). PayPal charges a small fee for
processing the sales tax/VAT payment (so, I assume, does Stripe) and that will
come out of your funds. But just the processing fee - the tax that the buyer
pays in will also come out.
