Found them in Germany too.

They come from set #0000 Test Bricks:

Joking aside, if I understand correctly, test bricks are produced as part of
TLG's manufacturing process. Some TLG employees like to keep test bricks
as souvenirs or to give to friends, much like retail store employees are allowed
to take cardboard boxes from work that would otherwise be discarded. Eventually,
some of them end up for sale on BrickLink. Some other types of rare items share
similar origins. I'm sure maxx3001, Stuart9, and other rare brick collectors
can provide more details about the origin of these bricks.

For 2x4 test bricks, produced in the 60s / 70s by chemical companies for Lego
( in moulds provided by Lego): they were given out as presents / were available
for employees for a few pennies.

None of us has an intact sprue with the test parts attached.

Anyone know about a pink foam play sword I have come across. It has 2008 on
it but I cannot find it in the “gear” section anywhere. There is a large red
mock crystal in the handle and the part number printed on it appears to be 852223.
Any help much appreciated. Picture attached.

There`s a Lego logo at the hilt. This sword is part of this princess costume:

I can not...

But from your input (including pics) it's obviously a mold anomaly. Misprints,
there are galore. But mold mishaps are far fewer. Very nice collectible, imho

I listed them separately...

While they look like bubbles, they just seem too perfectly symmetric in the one
that has two and too reproducable in location to be random in the others.

As I said: I don`t think these are air bubbles, there`s a open cavity in the
inside.
Maybe someone who owns an orca could look at?

So gehts immer problemlos.

Interesting! Is there a sticker/label on the base of this item? I don’t think
it’s on Bricklink yet.

No, nothing.

I came across this soccer promotional box out of 2000 (found in Austria).
On the inside of the right edge ther`s a sensor which reacts to changes in light.
When the ball rolls into the goal, the crowd of Lego figures pictured on the
sides applaud.
Anyone ever saw?

Thanks for help

Once the set is approved, it can have an inventory added to it that will contain
this part. Since this functionality exists, I have marked this request as "Already
Exists".

Cheers,
Randy

Hi Randy

I thought it was agreed not to do this as this wasn't really a Lego promo.

If I'm correct, it was WDR itself that did the printing to hand it out to
the employees.

I could be wrong

Aufbau von immer größeren Volumina zu vermeiden, die zu Engpässen bei der Bearbeitung

listings (sometimes 200, 500, even over 1000) of sealed LEGO kits to sell. Not
trying to point figures, but this comes off as inherently sketchy to me - there
have been some pretty well-documented instances of LEGO theft recently, and having
several hundred kits listed on a store raises a red flag for me as a buyer. If
there's a perfectly logical reason for this that I'm missing then I stand
corrected. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this regardless.

And some people are just well off!!! I love LEGO but love my little fleet of
BMWs more. I do know of someone from England that sells here that was going
to purchase a castle a few years back but decided to invest in LEGO. Now that’s
a lot of LEGO my friend.

What BMWs do you have?
Does this happen to you? Someone asks “You have a BMW, are you rich?” My reply
is “No. I am poor because I have a BMW.”

Can confirm: that`s true...

What does it look like inside? Are there inner walls with round holes through
them as though it were drilled, or is there something else going on?

I've taken a picture of what the inside looks like. There are 8 sets of "walls"
that go up against each other - one coming from the top part of the brick, one
coming from the bottom. My guess is that they're glued together. There is
is one set of walls under each stud.

I split one of my old 7049b's today, and it's clear to me that they're
not the same inside. And 3907c has tubes inside, so it's not that either.
Because both top and bottom of my brick look official, my best guess is that
it's a prototype.

I don't know where I got it from, but my best guess it that it was in a box
of 6 kilos of used bricks I bought a couple of months ago. That box had approx.
1000 yellow minifig heads without print (and only a few other minifig parts)
and 72 blue left doors without a single right one, and around 500 maxifig parts
(heads/torsos/arms/hands but almost no hair/hats). So I bet those parts originally
came directly from the factory in Billund, and that white brick could have been
in that mix.

/Jan

Maybe this is the same one (without bottom and holes in the sides)?
Out of Billund too...

Hi folks,
I just added hundreds of Clikits parts.
Cause there`re lots of only-Clikits colors not listed separately on Bricklink,
I did my best to sort and describe them in the comments. I know there`re builders
of UV-lighted MOCs out there and I mentioned it in the comments too.
Jelly strings and rubber/foil icons are listed as custom lots.

Have a look: great colors, great stuff...

Technically it is possible to add an inventory for that set. However, BrickLink
inventories should be based on actual set contents so inventories for unreleased
items are a bit difficult and could be misleading. I honestly don't know
if there is any general guideline for such a case.

Maybe see also https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=243408&nID=1111566

piece that I had thrown into the "get rid of Megabloks pile" was actually Lego.

This is the piece (I remember also throwing out a dark red one away about 6 months
ago):

Part No: 22411 Name: Minifigure, Plume Feather Ponytail
*
22411 Minifigure, Plume Feather Ponytail
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear Accessory

The first piece that I recall not knowing was Lego only to find out later (once
it was given away in the fake Lego pile) that it was:

Part No: 58176 Name: Bar with Light Bulb Cover (Bionicle Barraki Eye)
*
58176 Bar with Light Bulb Cover (Bionicle Barraki Eye)
Parts: Bar

So I am asking others to share which pieces they can remember that they though
were not Lego. Hopefully this can help me an others not make the same mistake.

Probably someone has already made a list of these pieces already!!!

Oh yes, took some time to identify - the first ones went into the Playmobil box:

That set is one of only two Clikits sets (out of the over 120 of them) that has
not been verified from a sealed set by either member axaday or myself. If we
ever find a sealed one, we will correct it immediately. Until that time, it is
a sad reminder that neither him nor I can find this wonderful set.

I have two used sets. Here are some pics:

Color comparison (from left to right): Bright Pink, Pink, Mx Pink Red (which
is according to Ryan very close to Light Pink), Paradisa Pink and Dark Pink.

So definitely no Light Pink ( like the Scala necklace too, which is Light Salmon).

Thank you for providing the photos!

When I said Mx Pink Red is similar to Light Pink, I meant TLG's "223 Light
Pink", which (as far as I can tell) was never actually used in sets. Not to be
confused with what BrickLink calls "Light Pink".

I just got a really really big collection of Scala parts out of Hohenwestedt,
the former German Lego headquarter.Thousands of parts and all new - they were
produced for early shop displays.
Next to some parts in unreleased colors (mostly Light Salmon) like

Part No: 33081c01 Name: Scala Utensil Wicker Basket with (Same Color) Handle (33081 / 33082)
*
33081c01 (Inv) Scala Utensil Wicker Basket with (Same Color) Handle (33081 / 33082)
Parts: Scala

or

Part No: 6942foam Name: Foam Scala, 5 x 5 Round Seat Cushion for Scala Cone #6942
*
6942foam Foam Scala, 5 x 5 Round Seat Cushion for Scala Cone #6942
Parts: Foam

there`re some tiles and a stickered tray I never saw:
Are they known?

Thanks for help

Now that LEGO is using them like this, maybe it is time to reconsider.

Exactly what I think. They`re already listed in BL custom lots, on feebay...

Just got my first Braille bricks - issued on Kladno Play Day 2021.
This leads to the question: are Braille bricks 2x4 bricks?
And do we need a new category?

So Lawrence at brickowl was able to deal with this and set it up so brickowl

I really want to rant about this, but what's the point. My trade has been

nicht, das ich Umsatzsteuerpflichtig bin (meine Umsätze liegen weit darunter).
Warum soll ich also die Mehrwertsteuer in meinen Eisnstellungen aktivieren?

As a German small business, I am obliged to submit a VAT ID number. to be deposited

Pink, and the pink used in Paradisa sets, is subtly different, so beware.

Nita Rae

3001 in pink is known, 3001 in Paradisa pink isn't (only as test brick).

question, does the plain ol 2 x 4 brick actually come in pink? I listed one in

"bright Pink" cool, i refunded them and apologized for my inventory error,

but my bigger question is this, why did the system assign a picture of that
part in "pink" to the listing when "pink" is not listed in the known colors for
that part?

i checked the catalog and the 2 cx 4 is not shown as being in the inventory of
any set.
usually, if I list a part in a color that is not in the known color list, there
will be no image on the listing.. sooooo what gives ?

was there really a 2 x 4 brick made in "pink"?

Having checked the part on the Lego site, Lego refer to its colour as Trans White
which translates to Trans Clear on Bricklink and the important thing here is
to always catalog the colour not as we see it but as the colour description given
by Lego/Bricklink otherwise you end up creating additional sub-categories of
colour which Lego themselves don't recognise and which leave sellers with
no clear indication of where they should list their item for sale also there
are other colours that vary in shade such as Pearl Gold and yellow and if you
start doing sub categoris for one colour I'm not sure where it would end?
Bricklink would have an even bigger colour pallette with no clear certainty as
to where an item should be listed?

The world is colorful!

Strange.
I’d have said “reissue” but they are both from 2006.  Or is it an error for the
“Dino 2010” one?

If I remember correctly Dino Attack and Dino 2010 are different names for the
same theme used in different countries. So other than the theme name these two
are probably the same.

I just came across of a set of 6 Legoland Sierksdorf postcards: 5 are showing
the German WM soccer team of 1974 on a visit a Legoland Sierksdorf (black and
white). The sixth one shows the entrance of Legoland Sierksdorf and on the back
there are autographs of the soccer team.

I only came twice across this set in a lot of years - add to the catalog as a
set or single?

Thanks for any advice

Thanks for sharing this! There is a new range of iridescent colors starting this
year. Official they are called Opal. We have been calling them Satin (for now,
anyway). But yes, we do want actual photos of any exotic color whenever possible.

Unfortunately we do not inventory items that make up key chain parts since they
are glued/screwed together. But maybe we can put the color name in the gear Item
Name so at least people can find it through a general search.

Yeah, adding the color or special feature to the name would help a lot, and of
course, adding actual pictures. Opal is a great color too! I think that's
the one for the jewels in the DOTS sets. Very pretty too!

If you buy more than one you`ll recognize they look different - maybe depending
on the thickness of the coating or a slightly different kind of coating? It`s
not caused by the incidence of light.

Nice attitude. You have probably alienated many people that might have traded
with you with the constant posts about it. If you have a trade or swap value
in mind you should just tell people what that is.

You're weak.

Do they still have holes in the head? I guess they are glued? If so they cannot
be sold as parts. I guess you could try selling as glued minifigures, but they
might be more interesting to buyers to sell as keychains without the chain.

  Hi,

I am looking at the known colors for part 3001, cause I want to update my set
of example color bricks, there are much more in the price guide info than known
colors...

E.g. Trans-Clear is not a known color for part 3001, how is that possible?

Part No: 3001 Name: Brick 2 x 4

Thx,
Arnoud

Maybe all trans clear 2 x 4 bricks in official sets are of the 3001old variety?
Would certainly match the release dates of those sets. Current trans 3003s are
of the 3003old variety but are listed under 3003 as per BL policy, so any 3001
trans that surfaced now would probably still be of the 3001old variety.

3001 trans clear not used in any set? that could explain it indeed

Trans parts don’t have internal supports, they use the old mould.
3001old doesn’t only mean old 3001 bricks, it also means 3001 without support.

I have trans-clear 3001 bricks with cross-supports, and even a recent one with
thin walls (fully modern 3001). They do exist, but they're only used for
internal models like in LegoLand parks.

Ryan, my brick with thin walls (fully modern 3001) has a different shade- both
bricks are new...
