The above store has the above item for sale, and lists it as "New, Sealed",
however it states in the description the following:

Contents removed and rebadged in baggie, comes with all parts, accessories and
instructions

Is it allowed to state a set is "New, Sealed", if it has been removed
and rebadged in baggie?

I would not normally expect this to be listed as an actual "New, Sealed"
set, however, it's been a while since I've purchased anything on BrickLink
and the description of this item, to me, does not match it's condition.

If anyone can point out the relevant BrickLink policies that make this an actual
and valid listing, please enlighten me.

If this post belongs in a different topic please move it and notify me, if possible.

I guess it should be "New, Complete" although even that is debatable
if the original foil package isn't included.

The United States does have customs fees, but there is a certain threshold below
which customs fees do not apply. So, individuals generally do not need to worry
about paying customs fees, but large corporations such as the LEGO Group definitely
do.

Ultimately the consumer will pay in any case - if a corporation has to pay fees
and taxes on their goods those will be passed on to the consumer in the form
of higher prices.

They are not paying 22% but they are definitely paying customs fees because of
the volume they're importing - they might even have to pay dock fees. Of
course TLG isn't the "buyer" in this case.

Thus far I've read in the forum:

(1) it's better to store minifigs with the hips off since leaving them on
can cause the torso to crack, and

(2) it's better to sell new minifigures assembled since the torsos can crack
when the legs are put on

In General, rab1234 writes:
I keep seeing people say that torsos crack from legs being kept inserted. Personally
I’ve had hundreds of heavily played with figs from 1980 to early 90s that were
then stored in a variety of attics and basements for the next 30 years and none
of them developed cracks in the torsos from legs being left in. My experience
tells me that it’s the removal and swapping of arms that is far more likely to
cause damage. That being said, I didn’t have any figs from mid 90s to about 2015
and plastics could be different (like reddish brown and dark reds from around
2010). None of my display figs or kids’ figs from around 2015 onward have developed
cracks either.

Hi All - I sent in one of my Boba Fetts for grading as a test case and just received
it back. The few that I have sold were always questioned if it was authentic,
so I decided to try grading. It graded at 90+ (93.3), which I'm happy with
as the helmet is a little off.

I'm unsure if I'm going to sell it, but I'm curious about the value
now. Any thoughts on the list price if I was to list it? I also have Cloud
City Lando (92.1) and Luke (93.8).

Thanks, Liger99

I'm wondering if this will actually preserve the figure.

Generally it's better to store with hips off since side cracking usually
forms from pressure of the legs being pressed onto the torso.

Shouldn't be an issue, but abs plastic does off-gas as well, many years after
production. Though I've personally had no issue with parts sealed in air-tight
bags for decades.

How would the use the wrong head type since he is already know to come with both

Yeah, IIRC, 2012 is around the time the switch from 'b' to 'c'
was made so it shouldn't be surprising that a minifigure from 2012 could
be found with both types.

Ah, yes, if $400 was written on the customs form instead of $320, then the seller
is responsible for the higher fees there and should refund the buyer for that
at the very least.

I just got a text from UPS this morning to pay the duty fees. So, to recap, here
is what I have:

1. Purchase value: $320
2. Shipping: $70
3. Insured Value: $400 (next available same item on Bricklink)

4. VAT: 3.30 Euros
5. Brokerage: 15.00 Euros
6. Government Charges: 107.45 Euros

Total Due: 125.75 Euros

This is totally ludicrous ... The buyer is not too happy, and neither am I.

Any way around this?

I guess you got a text because you used your phone number and not the buyer's
when filling out the customs form? The customs fees are the buyer's responsibility.
If I were in your shoes I would offer to pay the brokerage fee and VAT on the
brokerage (that's the VAT charge you see above - 22% of 15 euro is 3.30).

Italy does have customs, such as greeting close friends with a light kiss on
either cheek.

There is also the feast of the seven fishes, but an Italian friend of mine tells
me that's actually an Italian-American custom

Do you mean PayPal, above? BrickLink doesn't handle funds at all.

Will my refund be automatic?

You have to wait 2 weeks for the NSS to complete but there's nothing stopping
you from filing a PayPal claim (assuming that's how you paid). In fact you
should do just this.

find it anywhere so I refunded the part and moved on. unless the buyer is specifically
trying to get a refund for a higher $ part it's quite likely there isn't
any ill intent so it's probably just best to refund the part and move on

He is asking for $5 for $1.80, and opened a PayPal dispute. Seems rather extreme
to me?

The refund is reasonable - $1.80 in parts plus $3.20 partial shipping. PayPal
dispute seems a bit unreasonable though, depending.

It has been this way for decades (it’s a requirement to enter EEC/EU).

Before the IOSS scheme of 2021, it was even more expensive as you had to pay
the brokerage fee for packages between €22 and €150 too.

Thas is,
before 2021: 0-22 = free, 22-150 = VAT + fee, 150+ = duty + VAT + fee
now: 0-150 = VAT, no fee, 150+ = duty + VAT + fee

What can be worse about it now is that buyers can be double-charged for VAT if
the IOSS number isn't sent correctly by the seller or received correctly
by the destination country

They have to pay VAT, which BrickLink will automatically collect if the value
is under 150 euro.

I don't know how UPS works in Europe but in Canada they have very high brokerage
fees in addition to customs fees (that is, they charge you an additional fee
for acting as the broker in paying customs). I would avoid using them for international
packages.

It doesn't bother me that other sellers do it (within reason) though I myself
don't do it on BrickLink (I don't mark it as Shipped until the day it's

That's the one question I still have myself. The original submitter may
have grabbed a minifigure from a different set by accident and put the parka/hood
on, I'm really not sure. Regardless, there is no set that contains a yellow
headed Solo with a parka/hood. The catalog submissions were a little more lax
back then, which is probably how it initially got through.

There also is not, as far as I could tell, a torso assembly with that torso and
yellow hands - that is the primary reason for my question. So it seems the original
submitter must have taken the light nougat hands off the torso assembly and put
yellow hands on it.

Normally with onsite the status should automatically go to paid and then you
set another status

That would explain why the seller can't change the payment status
from None

Nope definitely a darker version light gray which they made in other parts like

Hmmm, that particular darker shade of light gray isn't nearly as dark as
the air tanks in your picture. Maybe the lighting is off?

Mine have been good but I've not had an order in a few days, which I've
chalked up to people doing Christmas shopping - that is, they're no longer
placing BL orders because they wouldn't arrive until after Christmas Day.
Not completely unexpected - of course the last two years I was already closed

I think I understand what the OP is saying and it's not quite this. He's
asking if a set's inventory can show the parts that are exclusive to the
set. For example click on

Set No: 10497 Name: Galaxy Explorer
*
10497-1 (Inv) Galaxy Explorer
1219 Parts, 5 Minifigures, 2022
Sets: Space: Classic Space

and you would see that

Part No: 3009pb244 Name: Brick 1 x 6 with White 'LL 928' Pattern
*
3009pb244 Brick 1 x 6 with White 'LL 928' Pattern
Parts: Brick, Decorated

only appears in this set and nowhere else. (Of course there could be other parts
as well.)

Maybe revert the status from Packed to something else? Has it actually been paid

I can't finish a single bag without needing to stop due to fingers getting
chewed up by the LEGO. So I've been fumbling along using garden gloves.
Does anyone know of gloves that would be better? Or perhaps you have a better
solution?

I'm facing a 6,020 piece set I bought to build during Christmas vacation.

Thanks!

Maybe something like the finger sleeves some gamers use? I've not tried them
but I'm thinking of it, I don't have thin skin on my fingers (yet) but
I have occasionally felt some pain in my fingertips while building.

I am new here and haved a rather large quantity of bulk used LEGO that I am currently
sorting and processing. What I have pretty much runs the spectrum of bricks,
windows, panels, plate, technic etc.

What I am wondering is if there is a higher demand for one type of brick/plate
etc that I should prioritize getting posted to my inventory to sell ? I woud
like to get the items in highest demand posted ASAP

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or input.

Thank! Jamey

In order:

Minifigs
Stuff that minifigs hold and wear
Animals
Tiles
Bricks
Printed parts (not stickers)
Train stuff
Windows and doors
Rare colors

Great list but I would put plates in, and ahead of bricks

The part dates from 1980.  LEGO switched from acetate to ABS in the 1960s.

CA also would not have yellowed like that. I have 1-2 white CA parts and they

I found 8 of the 1x2 bricks in this color. Placed them on a bley 2x8 plate for

Bought a small mixed lot from Goodwill that has mostly Friends parts. If these
8 do not come in any sets, where did they come from?

perhaps from legoland. I've heard that sometimes they have parts in exclusive
colours there

There are a few for sale so they do at least exist. Amazing that the OP found
them in a Goodwill lot though - and in pretty good condition

This is true but Priority Mail can be significantly cheaper if you use your own
boxes and get the commercial Cubic rate (which you can get through e.g. Pirate
Ship). The USPS's Flat Rate Priority boxes in particular are not ideal for
shipping Lego.

Not many sellers have that as an option in Canada which makes senses as in canada
as opposed to the USA Shipping rates vary drastically. In Canada I can ship a
parcel for under. $10 to one person and the exact same parcel would cost $20+

of the buyer

I wonder if there are circumstances under which it would be cheaper to ship to
the USA then ship from the USA to Canada! For example I could ship a 2lb package
to anywhere in Canada for $15.

It means the seller hasn’t shipped the order out. Some stores only ship once
a week or different so it’s best to read their terms page to find information
on shipping times from that store

alright thank you for letting me know

There is another status available and that is "Packed"

Paid --» Packed --» Shipped

Considering that the order was placed on Friday, it shouldn't be alarming
that the status hasn't changed.
