I'm sure it has nothing to do with this.

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/lego-bricklink-bugs-let-hackers-hijack-accounts-breach-servers/

So, what's BL doing to fix this?

In Technical Issues, jeffhau2 writes:
I'm hoping a member or Administrator will see this and be able to provide
some guidance.

System logged me off and I'm unable to log back in. I believe the issue is
that I had a six digit password but I see now that an eight digit password is
required.

It doesn't like my password now. I get the "ID or Password Mismatch!"

I've tried to do a password reset but an email does not get sent to make
this happen.

My user name is "jeffhau" (I created this new account to be able to post here).
My store name is THEREISNOSPOON.

I'm really at a loss here as I've sent messages to Help Desk with no
response. I've tried everything I can think of to get back in my account
but no success.

I'm guessing now that I have unfulfilled orders in my store not yet invoiced
so that's not good. BrickLink is a needed source of income for me as well
so obviously it's not good in that regard.

Hopefully someone out there can provide information that can remedy this problem.
Thanks for reading.

Hello Buyers. I have received a few negative and neutral feedback recently that
contain messages that should have been sent through the BL system by clicking
on the 'contact seller' link at the bottom of the order information page.
If something is missing or defective in your order, PLEASE first contact your
seller to let them know and give them an opportunity to correct the mistake.
If the seller fails to rectify the situation, then neutral/negative feedback
is warranted.

Wouldn’t it be nice, if the feedback system required two comments … one that
describes any problems and one that describes what was remarkable about the transaction
?

That way, there would be a (form of) balance in every feedback left.

Here's the parts list for neon yellow parts
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=2&colorID=236

There is no mention of a 1x10 plate.

But this page shows 3 sets that have a 1x10 plate in that colour
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=4477&colorID=236&in=A

Or the 2x6 brick for that matter.
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=2456&colorID=236&in=A

What gives?

Just curious, are you not able to run the store at all or just not that many
orders? Raise your prices 10% and see if that's manageable. If not, raise
them another 10%

My wife is ill so it's been nice to have fewer orders lately. It's still
enjoyable but I don't feel overwhelmed when I get a few orders bunched up
together instead of spread out.

That might work for you at well. Wishing you improved health.

I think you'll have to be a little more specific with your request.

How large do you want it? How detailed do you want this scene to be? Very detailed
will be several thousands of pieces and quite expensive, not to mention time
consuming to create and to provide building instructions. Less detailed could
be very basic and not require much time or effort. What's your budget?
There are a lot of unknowns here.

Also if this comes with a price, I’m happy to talk further to see if we can come

I requested only stores with at least 300 bricks. There are two Canadian sellers
selling yellow 2x4 bricks for really cheap. 400 for .07 and 420 for .08. That's
going to be cheaper than going to the lego store.

Thanks! So simple. I really over thought this one! Figured there was a special

Exactly.

P.S. I don't have one.

been trying to get one, but feel the market for this particular minifig is DRASTICALLY
overpriced. For starters, the minifig can be easily faked if out of the bag, so
I won't even entertain the idea of a loose one. Second, they're all over
ebay ranging from $6K to $14K when the BL sales data for the last 6 months, even
with all the Lego "inflation", shows only 1 new one being sold for just under
6K and 3 used ones for only $365. In short, is there anyone who's willing
to part with theirs for a realistic number? Please message me as this is one
of the few needed for my collection! Thanks!

They are not overpriced, they are just more than you are willing to pay. Why
would someone part with one at significantly below market price when the buyer
could then quickly flip it at market price. The market price at which others
are buying/selling IS the realistic price.

Had a similar issue. Buyer was impatient. This was the first summer of covid.
There were expected shipping delays. I'm confident the buyer got his minifigs
eventually, albeit 2-4 weeks later than expected but never bothered to pay me.
Some buyers think they are stealing from a large company but they don't
stop to think that they're actually stealing from an actual person. I think
if more did, they wouldn't be so cavalier about it.

by PayPal.

Yep - this behaviour was recently mentionned here:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1328323

Some buyers are kind and they'll pay again, apparently some are less.
And the Claim remains as a mark in your PayPal account

Anyway - not much you can do, apart maybe counting 100€ "lost" every year while
selling - or such provisional amount, and include it in your prices.

Wishing you the best.

Anyone within an hour drive, I see if they want to do local pickup because they
might be in the neighbourhood one day and could drop by. Alternatively, if I
know I'll be in their neighbourhood in the next week or so, I offer to drop
it off. I also offer to meet at one of the three local LEGO retail stores if
that works for them. I haven't ever dropped off an order unwelcomeded. I
could see how a user might feel weird about me dropping by unannounced.

In Selling, popsicle writes:
I received an order earlier today from an address less than 2 miles from our
home. (It was a simple order totaling $50, containing a single minifig) Packaged
and invoiced within 10 mins. The newish-to-BL/new-to-us buyer, paid immediately
followed by “thanks, I just paid” comms. So the order was labeled and ready for
USPS drop-off within 20 mins of it being placed. I normally wait for other outgoing
packages at the end of the day to post. But as my daughter had a package awaiting
pick up, I figured I'd take the single package to the PO to grab her package.

I jumped into our truck with the package, started the truck only to pause staring
forward down the driveway, contemplating: The man only lives 6 minutes away,
shouldn’t I just drive to his home and place the package on his front doorstep?
How silly is it to drive the same distance to mail the package? He’ll likely
receive his order within 24 hours anyway, but still? I could file for a refund
for the $3.27 label, later?

It’s not the first time this scenario has play out though, as I’m certain
it has for some of you too.

Tell me what you’d do and I’ll tell you what I did...

I've since readjusted my evaluation to $100k CAD which is about $70k Euro.
Even at 100k Euro as others suggested, it's a far cry from $400k CAD. I'm
in no position to make an offer. I just like the number crunching.

In Sales, popsicle writes:

I think your asking price of almost 400k CAD is way too high. Consider that
you can get 2 million new parts for 200k CAD but you're asking for double
that for new and used and your inventory has been picked over for the good parts
over time. I think 50k CAD is the right price but it's moot since I'm
nowhere near Germany and you won't ship it.

Somewhat reductive approach to evaluating inventory, isn’t it?

The man has large volumes of higher-valued minifigs and minifig parts, among
other factors to consider for an accurate resale purchase number.

After reading your “I think 50k CAD is the right price” statement, I left wondering
if you’re simply having a little fun with the 35k euro evaluation? If so, why
not just let the man try and promote his sell-off, long shot that it might be.
He’s been jammed up here a few times already.

I think he knows what’s what in this marketplace, at least as well as we do.
Make an offer or not... But respectfully, do it via pm.

You should get a 50% discount on the set if you inventory it. I'm not suggesting
they send you one for free, maybe after you inventory the set and it's verified,
they send you the equivalent in VIP points.

If you consider they send free sets to influencers, 50% discount seems like the
least they could do.

When somebody inventories it basically

BrickLink relies on volunteers and members to provide set inventories.
So we need somebody that
a) owns the set
b) is wiling to open it
c) is really willing to sit and count and check the inventory

No small feat for a 9000+ piece set

I am willing to do this if someone would just loan me the set!

As others have pointed out, you're responsible if the package doesn't
reach the buyer.

However, I would probably ask your buyer to be a bit more patient. Ask them to
wait a few more weeks and if the order doesn't arrive, you will be happy
to offer them a refund. I've had cases where a few users got anxious and
asked for a refund prematurely and this always diffused the situation. Sometimes
they just need assurances that you're not going to scam them and by saying
you'll offer them a refund in a few weeks (be specific with a date), they'll
have it in writing and feel better about it.

without tracking and insurance - as he ask for. Several days ago, he contacted
us that he still did not get his order. We very politely explained that there
is not much we can do right now – maybe there is only delay with shipment (Christmas
time) and if by chance order would be returned to us we will inform him. We also
asked him if there is anything else, we could do for him. As he still did not
get his order after few next days he issued NSS and he is saying that he has
no proof no reason to believe we shipped his order and even if we shipped it
and if it is lost, it is our fault and we are responsible for it.

In our store terms and conditions is written that if order is not insured we
are not responsible for damaged or lost shipment. Isn’t it so that, if buyer
requires shipping without tracking and insurance and if we have in our store
terms and conditions written that we are not responsible for lost or damaged
shipments if they are not insured, so if he place an order he agrees with our
terms and conditions and he is accepting that risk of damaged or lost shipment
is on his shoulders?
We shipped over 2000 orders in last 10 years and even 30-50% of them were send
without tracking and insurance we did not have such a problem in the past.

Is there anything we can do to protect ourselves? Buyer paid via Paypal. We are
getting suspicious whether the buyer did not plan this. What if he already got
his order, he is saying that he do not have it and wish to get refund. We will
never get any proof if he got it or not. From buyers 24 orders he already has
1 NPB with negative feedback.

Please what can we do? Many thanks for your advices and support.
Best wishes,

Is there a way to search your inventory for lots with the remarks not like "bin"

I've recently reorganized my inventory and I want to find any lots that don't
have the word bin in the remarks. Is there a way to do that?

I always thought of it like this.

under 100k parts, small store
100k-500k parts, medium sized store
500k+ large store.

In General, Leftoverbricks writes:
How big is your store? I'm trying to figure out how to classify shops by
size. I'm talking about shops that mainly sell parts.
I arrive at the following classification, from very small to very large:

1. very small store 1-500 parts
2. -----------------500-2500 parts
3. -----------------2500- 2500
4. -----------------12500-62500
5. -----------------62500-150000
6. -----------------150000-360000
7. -----------------360000-864000
8. very large store 864000-and more

Do you think this is useful? Apart from the two first classes (1-500 and 500-2500)
every next step is about 2,5 times the size of the previous one.

What do you think?

Looks to me like one of those "ghost" stores. They don't have the parts
on hand but the prices are high (10x or higher) so even if they get an order
for something, they'll make so much on the order that they can place an order
at another store or multiple stores that have the parts at a reasonable price
and have them shipped to the end buyer directly.

For example, BuyerA buys 100 1x2 bricks for 50 cents each plus cost of shipping
from SellerA. That's a $55 order (approximately).

SellerA buys the same 100 bricks from SellerB for $10 and has the order shipped
to BuyerA and pockets $45 for doing nothing.

And before you say that'll never happen, it does. Especially to newbies
who don't realize that they're being gouged. They come looking for parts
for a moc and lo and behold, this store has all the parts they need.

Great racquet if you don't get caught.

Sounds like you're trying to make a mosaic.

I've made a few so let me offer some advice. There are 1x1 plates in colours
that you can obtain in quantity for reasonable prices (5 cents each or less).
Most of the stores that have them in quantity and for those prices are in Germany.
Also, if you know what you're making, you can buy larger plates as well.
1x2, 1x3, 2x2 corners and so on. A 1x2 plate is usually cheaper than two 1x1
plates. If you're looking to reduce your cost per stud, buying larger plates
will help. If you're not making a mosaic but are buying parts for a classroom
for example (to have the kids make mosaics), you might want to skip the larger
plates.

The parts you're looking for are

Part No: 3024 Name: Plate 1 x 1
*
3024 Plate 1 x 1
Parts: Plate

Part No: 3023 Name: Plate 1 x 2
*
3023 Plate 1 x 2
Parts: Plate

Part No: 2420 Name: Plate 2 x 2 Corner
*
2420 Plate 2 x 2 Corner
Parts: Plate

and the colours that you'll most likely find in quantity are

Black
Blue
Bright Light Blue
Bright Light Orange
Bright Light Yellow
Bright Pink
Coral
Dark Azure
Dark Blue
Dark Bluish Gray
Dark Brown
Dark Green
Dark Orange
Dark Pink
Dark Purple
Dark Red
Dark Tan
Dark Turquoise
Green
Light Aqua
Light Bluish Gray
Lime
Magenta
Medium Azure
Medium Blue
Medium Lavender
Medium Nougat
Olive Green
Orange
Red
Reddish Brown
Sand Green
Tan
White
Yellow
Yellowish Green

That's a lot of colours! Even if you got 500 of each colour at 5 cents each,
you're looking at almost $1000, probably more when you factor in multiple
shipping costs and possibly duties.

You could narrow down the colours. Do you need 6 shades of blue? Do you need
5 shades of green? If you're making a mosaic of the Hulk, maybe you want
all the different greens.

The last part is to make a wanted list. Add each of the parts in the colours
you are looking for and search. Or, pick one of the 1x1 plates in a particular
colour and look at who has the highest quantity at the cheapest prices. Then
visit that store and see what other 1x1 plates they have at prices you're
comfortable paying. As I mentioned, they will most likely be in Germany.

Good luck!

Hi, this is Sia, I'm very new in the Lego world, and I have difficulties
navigating this website for buying items. I hope someone here can help me.

I want to work on a pixel art frame project, So I need two things as starting
steps:

1. Find all the possible colors of 1x1 plates. Ideally, if the info includes
the color code, and images, it will be very great. It seems the "Color Catalog"
page is not very useful.

2. Then, after figuring out which colors I want, I would like to order the items
by certain quantities. Again, "Color Catalog" is not useful and takes me to pages
that I don't understand what they are (They show other parts in various colors!!)

Could anyone tell me what's the best way to do these 2 steps, please?

Thank you so much.
Cheers,

Fair points but at $160 to get it, I'd argue most parents aren't buying
their kids sets to reach that threshold. Should have been a $50 GWP. So that
leaves the adult market who will buy $200 sets to get it. Most of those adults
will be waiting until a better GWP.

You're not spending $160 to get it. You're spending $160 to get $160
worth of LEGO products, and getting a bonus along with it (unless you tell them
"no, I don't want a free set", which is always your right).

Picture a little kid who thinks they can never build something as good as a real
Lego set, but then they see this set built in their own style and realizes that
they're on the right path. To me, this set embodies the true spirit of Lego
— even if you only have a handful of parts in mismatched colors, your imagination
is really the limit. Got a pretzel? why not build a flying car! That's true
creativity.

Personally I'll be skipping this one, but I don't buy many sets to begin
with and the parts don't interest me. It's not for me in the first place,
and that's okay.

On the subject of capes I don't know how many variations there are but can
I suggest that we add the word 'Rigid' to all those capes that hold their
form when lightly pinched at one end and then add the word 'Soft' to
all those capes that flop down under the same test

This would at least give people a rough idea of the style of cape with just a
quick glance

The correct terms to describe these fabrics would be Woven and Knit. (basically
the difference between a dress shirt and a T-shirt) However, not everyone understands
fabric construction.
As we already use Starched and Spongy, I just don't think adding even more
subjective terms would be very helpful.

Jen

Well isn't 'Starched' just a further fabric construction that most
people don't understand? I certainly did'nt until I just keyed it into
google. At least everyone will understand the basic principal of a firm, stiff
or rigid cape compared to one that is not hence my suggestion to include it

Well, maybe my age is showing but I would think Starched is a very common term?
Also, as these capes age, they lose the rigidity and that could create some confusion
with the term. Of course, it's the starch wearing off that causes this. So,
now we are back to Woven and Knit.

I could create a simple image to add to the additional images that could cleary
show the differences in fabric type for lay people.

Where is John P when you need him in this conversation??

Hey bud, long time!

I've had a similar situation happen to me (not instructions but parts). Had
a user in another country claim to be from Canada and clearly wasn't. If
they are trying to circumvent the countries you ship to, then you can cancel
it. You can also report their account and they'll have their buying privileges
revoked. If they leave negative feedback, it'll be removed.

Of course, this is just my experience. I can't imagine the policy changing
in the past 8 months but you never know!

reveal here on the forum that proves to me this to be true. In order to protect
my custom MOC instructions that I sell on this site, I do not want to purse with
the order and just refund the buyer and cancel the order. I specifically chose
to use BL for select MOCs to be sold here on BL because it gives me more control

Maybe a hybrid model would work. 6 months sales or last 100 sales, whichever
is more.

I think if you have an older set that sells once every 3 months, why not keep
the historical data from years past? For example, this set has sold once new
and seven times used in the last 6 months. More historical data on this would
be great. Even with eight sales, it's still a lot more than some of the much
older sets.

Contact the seller. A good seller will offer you different options. If I sent
the wrong parts, I would offer the buyer a refund plus additional cost for having
the items shipped (about $2.30 CAD for a bubble mailer). If I had the items,
I would offer to send them and mention that since I'm already shipping, they
could tack on to the order as long as it doesn't jump a shipping tier. Most
buyers like this option.

It's all about communication. The seller should ask you what you would like,
not assume what they offer is a good solution.

Do you want to have something like this.

MyCoolBrickStore.com ?

Buy the domain and then do a redirect to your store URL. You'll have a unique

You can buy domains from a registrar like GoDaddy. They offer redirect services.

There are fairly common pieces and it won't take long to identify them.

Unfortunately I'm a bit busy right now, otherwise I would give you the part
numbers and advise you to make a wanted list, then find a store that has the
pieces you want in as many colours as you want. Regardless, the wanted list
is the way to go.

  Hello,

I am looking for a custom kit. It's the 35 pieces mentioned in Shawn Kenney's
Cool Creations in 35 Pieces book. If anyone is willing to put together and sell
or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Ps. I'm not a brick expert looking for my 6 year old son who loves to build.

Thanks!

CJ

Must be sold. I know you don't ship to me, but I'm curious what a full
set of 25 minifigs goes for.
