Simple solution: don’t make less desirable figures!

  but of course
that leads to disappointment when you get one of the less popular figures, even
worse when you get two!

Tell me about it: I bought one CMF22 on S@H to reach the amount to get the Hideout
(thanks prices in —9.99) and got the Bird Watcher, meh….

believe TLG used to do this as I recall coded dots on each bag of the earlier
series).

Those people who want to know which minifigure is inside a box can learn the
codes (either themselves as a fun challenge to deciphering the code or by going
online to learn which codes correlate to which minifigures). Those people who
want to be surprised have the choice of not looking at the faintly printed coded
dots (or slightly indented dots) on a box.

When series 1 came out in 2010 you could determine the figure type from the barcode
pattern. Various sites published a cheat sheet (Search on Brickset). As this
series included a Spartan warrior this caused it own problems and that figure
sold online at a premium price, it seemed lots of people wanted a Spartan army!

The downside of that is all the popular ones disappear so random pickers get
the less desirable figures only. I remember seeing people with bar code scanners
going through a S2 box of 60 in under 10 minutes, stripping out all the Spartans.

The article states that there will be no such markings/codes on the boxes to
identify the contents...

I never got the surprise thing… except as a trick to make you buy more.  As if
TLG needed that.  And is that really efficient when you account for the damage?
It’s just a source of frustration.

I understand the blind bags, as they want purchasers to need to buy more than
a complete set and keep chasing them to get a complete set (like Panini stickers).
Whether encouraging kids to gamble is a good thing is another matter, but clearly
LEGO don't have a moral issue with it.

As a Bricklink seller who occasionally sells CMF'S this is gonna be better
for sellers, as people will go to sites like this to find the figures they need.
So I am fine with it, but I can see why it would be frustrating to other people.
I think finding them in store is part of the experience also. Thsi new packadgign
will make it harder...

Or people will buy them all, take them home, open them and the return the ones
they don't want to the store. I've seen taped up CMF's at my local
Walmart already.

I wonder what percentage of these get bought to sell on, on sites like bl, ebay
and amazon. As many of those will get rebagged into a zip lock rather than taped
up.

wrong.

I have had a little success with it when I tried, but I never really had the
knack.

You can still largely distinguish them by weight. I have never tried it in store,
but Walmart and Target should have little kitchen scales on the kitchen gear
aisle.

About MOC
I wanted to do something more dynamic, aggressive and proportional.
I used all the parts for the construction except for one connector.
The model opens doors, roof, trunk.
There are seats, a control panel (unfortunately without a steering wheel)
There is a massive bumper with spikes, an air blower, four exhaust pipes like
in Pagani cars

No ideas for the rest of your questions but a couple for this one:

a. You can simply have it delivered at your workplace.

b. You can buy LEGO as a business for other reasons than to resell it as-is.

Hello

It is no first time I was talking with customer service in LEGO.COM and and somebody
there say "you cant resell this product or they only sell for end-costumer"

I have lego b2b account but also I have account in LEGO.COM

When I shop in Lego.com, I shop as private persom.

But I am confused, many people shop in LEGO.COM for ressell later, where does
it say that this cannot be done?

Also when you write name and adress in your LEGO.COM account, you have option
also to write company name(opcional), why?

Thanks

I have just bought the Haunted House. I am also going to buy the looping that
is coming soon.
Both can work with the powerup functions. You always need such a Hub. Now at
Hauted house this hub is listed: 88009 with 2 connections. With the looping I
don't know yet.

Can I also buy a larger hub, e.g. the 88012 hub with 4 connections? Or is there
even a bigger one for future construction sets where you have more than 4 connections.
Or does this not work and do you always have to buy the prescribed hub?
It is for me the first time that I will work with powerup functions.
Thanks in advance for your help

I really appreciate your help, but in this video, he opens up a 9v motor, which
I’ve already opened up before: it has clips, 12v motor doesn’t

Yes, that's what I saw... I'm sure it's somewhere on the Web, or
someone here knows?
Good luck!

This is probably a question for SW fans out there:

There's an upcoming set, the Inquisitor Transport Scythe with three inquisitor
minifigs.

I believe the Fifth Brother from that set is a remake of the SW0747 from set
75157.

Is the Grand Inquisitor a remake as well? There was a minifig SW0622 from set
75082 which was only named "The Inquisitor." Are they the same character?

And, yes, I had to play through the whole story app to get this info. You are
all welcome.

I just realized that. I’m parting a couple out right now (yay for the new yellow!),
and while figuring out the minifigures I realized the effort it takes to do the
inventory this way. Thanks on behalf of all who will be selling or checking these
sets in the next couple months or years.

That's very kind of you. I am sure the admins are going to have an interesting
time verifing these! Despite my cheeky comment, I do actually enjoy working on
products like these. When LEGO makes something new, we have to figure out how
to make it work with our catalog.

by doing it this way. This means that none of the minifigures in this set have
a fixed build, and have a lot of possible combinations.

What is the plan for listing these in the catalog? List every possible combination
according to the digital instruction? List them as a minifig with multiple chests
and hats to allow every possible combination in one listing? Or not list these
minifigures at all?

Only the minifigures that are shown completely built in the building instructions
application will have minifigure entries. All of the rest of the minifigure parts
will be listed in the set inventories as parts used for creative play.

Cheers,
Randy

Yes--more delays to come. I just received my weekly message pushing the

Got another delay notice yet again.

It’ll be just in time for Christmas by the time it ships in 2023.

Hello,

this is my project who is performing good on LEGO Ideas.

I thought you might want to see it:

In LEGO, LegoDadVa writes:
  Hi,
I have been away from Lego a long time and have a poor understanding of 9V and
12V trains. I do understand they run on electrified track and contain and internal
battery. If I were to purchase one - new/sealed or used - should I have concerns
that the battery may have leaked into its compartment in both cases? I was
looking at instructions for these trains and it seems the battery came built
in. I would imagine in any instance like this (and I have dealt with older battery
operated toys before so I have some experiences) the battery may leak/corrode
over time. Anything to disabuse me of this notion? Just trying to figure out
the best approach to purchase. Should I look for a used and confirmed work model?

I'm not old enough to remember the 12V system, but 9V trains for the most
part do not have batteries and instead power is supplied to the motor through
metal rails, similar to most real-life light rail systems. So, battery corrosion
is not so much of an issue as is the lifespan of the motors and keeping the rails
clean and free of debris so that the power supply to the motors is not interrupted.

At some point in the early 2000s, the U.S. government passed legislation restricting
toys that draw power from AC line voltage. Furthermore, metal rails are expensive
to produce (TLG actually never produced metal rails, they simply purchased large
spools from a third-party supplier and cut them to size). So, around the year
2006 lego started producing plastic rails and trains powered by onboard batteries.

The two train sets released in that year,

Set No: 7897 Name: Passenger Train
*
7897-1 (Inv) Passenger Train
489 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2006
Sets: Train: RC Train

and

Set No: 7898 Name: Cargo Train Deluxe
*
7898-1 (Inv) Cargo Train Deluxe
815 Parts, 5 Minifigures, 2006
Sets: Train: RC Train

both feature a battery pack integrated into the frame of the locomotive, which
as far as I am aware is unique to these two sets. However, the battery pack itself
is powered by six AA batteries that can be removed to prevent corrosion. Starting
with the release of the 10194 Emerald Night in 2009, all trains have been powered
by removable battery packs powered by six AAA batteries.

The old Power Functions system also featured a rechargeable lithium-ion battery
pack for anyone willing to pay an extra $50/£43/€57, but the new Powered Up system
features only a AAA battery pack with no option to upgrade to rechargeable batteries
(which, in my experience, have much better performance along with eliminating
the problem of corrosion when the batteries are left in the locomotive for an
extended period of time).

If you are considering purchasing any used battery-powered train sets on BrickLink
it is worth asking the seller about the condition of the battery pack since it
is easy to forget to take the batteries out and end up with a corroded mess.

I hope that helps clear things up a bit. Play well.

yes!!!same with me and the great fishing boat and safe...
evry week it feels it gets pushed back more and more, i think ill complain, but
then again it wont do much
its only the sets sold from 5000 to 10000 and im not sure why buyt thats what
i was told, but these delays are getting crazy imo
so i feel you!

So I guess the follow up question is... "are they actually committed to fulfilling

Be careful what you say when you complain, as they can cancel the order.

used any though. With the Forest Hideout set coming up as a freebie I was thinking
of using a bunch of points to cheapen a Blacksmith Shop set. Does the amount

you spend before using VIP rewards or afterwards? I don't want to get
a bunch of rewards ready and then discover they make it so I can't get the

All items will count towards the gwp threshold however you pay. However you only
earn new VIP points on the bit paid with real money.

Very True.

So, TIP: NEVER cash in any existing VIP points during a Double-VIP point event.
You will earn far few double VIP points if you do.

Thanks, that's good to know. I'm not worried about getting more points
so the cheaper I can make the blacksmith the better while still getting the free
set.

Build On!!

You could attach a number of part 63141 (String with End Studs 21L overall with
Rope Climbing Grips (16.1cm)) at the top of the opening and use tiles with clip
(15712) to hold transparent plates (of variour trans blue colours/clear) colours.
Probably not the "cleanest" way of doing it, but it would work, with a lot of
work. The ropes would be the most expensive part, but you could probably do a
good pair of curtains for around a tenner.

Alternatively clip 2* 1x2 trans plates together in a line down pieces of string.
Repeat ad infinitum and connect above the opening. Cheaper then the other option
and possibly better results too.

That's two possible solutions, anyway.
