used any though. With the Forest Hideout set coming up as a freebie I was thinking
of using a bunch of points to cheapen a Blacksmith Shop set. Does the amount
spent towards getting the free set get calculated based off the amount of money
you spend before using VIP rewards or afterwards? I don't want to get
a bunch of rewards ready and then discover they make it so I can't get the
free set. I know some websites which have things like free shipping over certain
amounts punish things like coupons or points by making it the amount of money
spent versus value of purchase. Thanks.

All items will count towards the gwp threshold however you pay. However you only
earn new VIP points on the bit paid with real money.

First thanks for posting this! I wasn't aware there was going to be a Forest
Hideout GWP coming! Do you know when it will be available?
Second the GWP is based on the items before points are used. If you order on
line you will see all gifts added to the cart when you qualify for them. Unless
it is one you have purchase with VIP point.

I suggest calling Lego S@H on the telephone to place your order. The phone reps
should be able to answer all of your questions properly and place your order
so that your use of VIP points is maximized while not jeopardizing your ability
to get any gift-with-purchase items.
Have a written list of the items you are seeking to buy (with maybe one or two
alternate items) and be prepared to spend 30 minutes or more waiting for your
call to be answered. I have done this on more than one occasion and I assure
you it will be well worth the time waiting in the phone queue.
Good Luck.

As Tanja said: there was an error and it was presented to you at a lower price
than the intended price.
It seems you order was “updated” to the intended price.
But, fear not, Tanja said you’ll only pay the lower price when the set eventually
ship in Spring 2023.
IOW, it will be corrected then (or before).
And you’ve not really paid anything yet. It was an authorization check that’s
only invalid for 30 days.

We also waiting for Bricklink to approve a NSB train sticker.

Just a brief update to let you know that during BDP Round 3, a technical error
caused Mountain View Observatory to sell at a lower than intended price for some

The initial amount charged was a temporary hold which will be returned. When
we are ready to ship in Spring 2023, all customers will be charged the lower

3) Correctly linking to the product page at brick link product page, for example
https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/designer-sets-for-adult-fans-of-lego/215744/Modular-Construction-Site
4) Change "Backordered" or "In process" to the expected ship date "Ships March
2023"
5) Remove CANCELED orders from "My Orders" page. (LEGO canceled 8+ orders and
they clutter up the "My Orders" page. I thought we could order 5+ and didn't
read the notice
6) Make it not possible to create an invalid order. If a user can't order
more then 1 of an item, they should never be able to checkout. Canceling orders
after the fact just makes for disappointed customers.
The following is what I see in my orders
SKU NAME Price Total Order Date
MISSING 6434001 319.99 344.79 May 16
MISSING 6434003 299.99 323.24 May 16
MISSING 6434000 199.99 215.49 May 16
MISSING 6434002 129.99 140.06 May 16
MISSING 6393841 249.99 269.36 May 16
910002 Studgate Train Station 399.99 377.11 May 16 $50 VIP POINTS
MISSING 6397999 229.99 247.81 Nov 21
MISSING 6413196 289.99 312.46 Nov 21
I estimate LEGO made ~16 million USD on these orders. So please hire a few interns
(free labor) to correctly display the order information. It been incorrect since
the start.
|
(6) would need to have a real time link between the online cart and their order
system. After placing an order it often takes a while to log in their system,
so anyone placing orders for multiple sets, one at a time, would get round this.
And that is why they cancel orders where customers have broken purchase limits.
I can understand if you place an order a day or a week later, then there could
be a check to see if you are breaking order limits and alert you if you are.
(4) What is the problem here, these orders are backordered, or in process. Putting
a shipping date may disappoint if they cannot make that date.
(3) You ordered it on lego.com, so if anything it should link to the product
page there. There are hardly any BDP sets, so having their systems cope with
a different way of handling the set details, linking to a different site, is
unlikely for so few sets.
(5) retaining cancelled orders is a good idea, as it gives the customer clear
knowledge that the orders placed have been cancelled rather than leave them wondering
why an order has disappeared from their account.
|
They just need to add a filter option to select/deselect certain orders, Active
(Just Placed, In Warehouse, In Process, Backordered etc.), Complete (Delivered,
Shipped, Cancelled etc.) with the ability to filter those by order status and
by "recent change" so we can filter the BDP sets that are from Round 1 or 2.
The only Cancelled order that should be removed as such is if the latest order
is cancelled it should be removed from the "Latest Order" screen and available
in the "All Orders" screen.

sets to get to the threshold.
|
I very much doubt they did. The Observatory hit the 3k threshold quickly enough
that the lower lego.com price didn't look to be widely communicated before
it got there, and it wasn't directly obvious to anyone who hadn't tried
to order it - I didn't even notice it at checkout, only when I couldn't
find an order for the "correct" value in my history.
The other set affected by the same issue, Brickwest Studio, failed by a large
margin to reach the threshold at all.
|
Brickwest Studio was doomed from the moment the minifigs were dropped, as we
know it was scheduled for Round 2 until the Rust incident caused it to be changed
"to avoid any potential inference" to that incident, then when it returned for
Round 3 they decide to remove all the cast and crew minifigs (inadvertently creating
a direct inference since after the Rust incident the set was abandoned for a
while), in addition to removing the minifigs the original price announced for
Round 2 increased as well.
This got a lot of people to abandon their need/want to purchase with 0 minifigs,
myself included, I supported that set during the Ideas phase and intended to
purchase it originally, as soon as the minifigs were dropped I lost interest,
then I saw the price increase and abandoned it.
Even if the price error was known the lack of minifigs would've kept the
purchases low, if it had the minifigs and was at the higher advertised price
it would've beaten one of the chosen 5 I reckon and would've sold out
once the price error was known.

I literally put assembled sets in thin office trashbags and then stack them in
boxes, they don't really fall apart.
Boxed stuff is a pain, pain pain pain.

| If you put them in a cardboard box each, then they only loose some parts. Some
of the taller sets lose trees, lamp posts and other things that are higher than
the building.
As long as you are careful with them no harm should come to them or their contents.

Possibly, I have been getting the same emails. You could just wait a bit closer
to your move date and if it gets too close for comfort just call Lego and have
them change the delivery address to friend/family that isn't planning a move.
I had to call to change my payment method, it was easy, just took a while on

Yes 100%. I had to do this for the first round. All you need to do is call
Lego support number and provide the order details. They'll make the update
on their end and it'll go through without issue when it ships.

Wait I am confused. Does this mean what I paid will be returned and then I will
be recharged? If so and I need to update the credit card info how will this work?
|
You didn’t actually paid anything yet. It was only an authorization check.
When the set will be sent (and only then), you’ll be actually charged.
|
Ah now this brings up an interesting point. If I need to update my card later
on to have it go on a different card will I be allowed to do this?
|
I think so… especially if the first card is expired.
Or you can talk to LEGO’s customer service when that happens… or even now I guess
(they already had two rounds, they should know how it works).
Anyway, no worry

Logical in some way. We’re in for 1-2 years of high inflation. Some EU countries

| Dear all,
Just a brief update to let you know that during BDP Round 3, a technical error
caused Mountain View Observatory to sell at a lower than intended price for some
customers and full price for others.
The initial amount charged was a temporary hold which will be returned. When
we are ready to ship in Spring 2023, all customers will be charged the lower
of the two prices displayed.
