You'd think they'd check the buyer hasn't moved house since placing
the order.

I've had a similar experience, I had multiple issues with an order in 2021,
when Lego adjusted something on the order in early to mid 2022 it triggered a
new GWP onto that order (that wasn't there previously) and shipped it to
me.
Not sure if it was a goodwill gesture as a result of so many issues on that order
or a technical glitch, I just went with it and gifted the extra set to my dad.

Hi,

The dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner is https://forum.bricklink.com/
(hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then click “Studio Forum”).

Please search the forum for your question before posting a new one (the search
box is in the very dark grey banner).
There’s indexes of known bugs and suggestions that you can browse first:
Studio: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5579
PartDesigner: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5589

There’s a subforum, aptly named “Studio Parts,” to ask for parts: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewforum.php?f=6
And there’s a nice “I can’t find this part” FAQ https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6368

(Oh, and it’s Studio, no dot anymore.)

I'm guessing they found extra in warehouse, plugged them into the system
and old orders that were left unfulfilled after they ran out previously came
up again.

It does permanently need writing permissions to the Program Files\Studio 2.0\

It is not uncommon for software to ask to make changes, especially when Studio
will be making changes to the files which have your virtual Lego model stored.
Without access, many apps will not run on your computer. The best safety precaution
is to make sure you trust the developer before you give it any permission. Studio
is 100% safe to use.

Studio is a finicky software.

Any shortcuts for entering inventory? I am a new Brinklink store owner and painstakingly
entered one color of my inventory 1 part at a time using Brinklink's interface.
I had hoped there was a way to download what I have entered and get it into
Excel and then update it for my other color parts and then upload back to bricklink.
Is there software to help one do this? XML file is useless to me as my programming
skills are pretty rusty.

Welcome to the world of BrickLink selling.

For manually entering inventory, I find it more efficient to add all of the same
parts of all colors at the same time, rather than adding stuff of all one color
at the same time.

I have also memorized the basic color numbers so I can manually change the price
guide URL for the same item from one color to the next:
The basic color numbers are
1 = White
2 = Tan
3 = Yellow
4 = Orange
5 = Red

6 = Green
7 = Blue
11 = Black
85 = Dark Bley
86 = Light Bley
88 = Reddish Brown

Here are the BL instructions on how to create an upload file by creating an XML
file: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=22

The most commonly used FREE third-party software is BrickStore
https://www.bricklink.com/linkClick.asp?ID=282

I prefer adding pieces one at a time directly to BrickLink. Creating an XML
or BrickStore file offers the possibility of keystroke errors. The error that
trips me up most often is forgetting to change the color from one line to the
next.

There are over 25,000 known orchid species. They grow all over the world, on
every continent except Antarctica.

Some are very small and plain. Some are very showy and colorful. And everything
in-between.

The type of orchids you see for sale in your local shop are all tropical epiphitic
orchids (growing on the branches of trees) from rainforest canopies in Southeast
Asia. Although the ones in the store are mostly hybrids grown in large commercial
greenhouses.

Beware Orchids. Collecting them is about as expensive, and addictive as Lego.

Thanks guys, the consensus of those I’ve talked to is that they are southern
marsh orchids.

More appearing by the day, stunning !

They may have been here for years, I’ve just moved to the area.

These are completely different to the species of orchids that you see for sale,
those you buy are much more eye catching than the ones we have here in the U.K.

Looks like a species from the Dactylorhiza family (Southern / Irish / Early Marsh
Orchid).

I love orchids.

It's interesting that you are suddenly seeing a profusion of these marsh
orchids where you previously noticed none. Orchid seeds are tiny, and are distributed
in huge numbers, but the conditions for germination can be tricky. It is possible
that last summer your area was wetter than usual, or cooler than usual, or drier,
or warmer, or the soil PH became less acidic, or some other environmental change
produced the ideal conditions for growth, resulting in more blooms this year.

I experienced something like this some years ago on my Dad's farm in Canada.
Bruce County is well known for wild orchids, but we had never seen any on the
farm. One year in June, we went for a walk in his Cedar bush, and were greeted
by the most amazing sight of hundreds of beautiful yellow Ladies Slippers in
full bloom. Something had triggered germination and flowering, possibly the woods
being moister that year. The next year there were only a couple of orchids, and
the year after that, they had once again completely disappeared. Who knows but
that there are hundreds of orchids seeds lying dormant in the ground waiting
for the once in a lifetime conditions that will bring them to life again.

Always a welcome site in nature, orchids. These Marsh Orchids can be found in
even colder climes than that of Cornwall, too. It's said that they’re finicky
cultivars, yet surprisingly hardy in the wild.

Thanks for sharing.

I didn't know it existed.

I just tried, latest version, doesn't work
I've a file with Remarks like "DN1234", I try to remove "DN" or "dn", no
way.

After further tests, it removes a whole word only, like I can remove "DN1234"
but not "DN" from "DN1234".

So, in the case of the OP, it doesn't help him.

Well you are correct, I've only been using it to remove whole words. I'm
going to take a look at the code to see how difficult it might be to make it
do partial words, as I can see the definite benefit to that functionality.

  Hi all!
I would be glad if someone could help me figure out how to remove the € sign
from comments in my Brickstore inventory, PLEASE?
I tried lots of signs/ languages, and.. failed.
thanks!
nice day
Soon

I would just open in notepad and do a find and replace, should be pretty quick.

The thing is, I can't do that for ALL the comments, as they're not all
the same ^^
AND.. I do have lots of different comments.

In this case aren't you just finding the € character and replacing it with
nothing?

Yep, that's what I would do. Unless you mean something different, like all
the number values that include €?

Thanks, that's a good idea. but in the comment, I can only add, clear, remove
or set.
nothing like replace for the comments .. how do you do this in Brickstore please?

No no - open the file with Notepad++ (better) or Notepad, edit it in using CTRL+H
to replace, save, and re-open in BrickStore.

Of course, work on a COPY !

THANK YOU!!
you're a great teacher

If that's the case then a slightly more feature-rich editor would be necessary,
and you could use a regular expression (I'll try to post something if that's
what's needed)

A common problem on Wine Studio doesn’t get the focus back.

You need to disable window management for Wine windows or use a virtual desktop
(both options in winecfg).

Yes, you are right: I have gone to winecgf and then, in the Graphics tab, I have
selected "emulate a virtual desktop". The problem I had reported has disappeared.

Many thanks for your assistance.

No.

in the community and my family to create this.

If you are talking about Studio, the Instructions Maker shows the parts required
for a particular step in a model's build. You can breka models down into
sub-models too, so they have individual builds that can then be combined with
the larger model (or as separate parts).

You can use the Instruction maker to move parts from one step to another, to
ensure a clear and structurally sound build. Once you've arranged everything
you can then export to a .PDF file for independent viewing.

Actually, eBay acquired PayPal in 2002 then spun it off into its own company
in 2014. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal

Keep an eye on Craigslist for the Akro Mils drawers. I see them every couple
of weeks here in the Seattle area.

I have a mix of Acro Mils, Harbor Freight, and other brands. Even some of the
older metal Akro Mils units.

Since some of the parts drawers were used, they had scratches, discoloration,
etc. and were 5 or 6 different color combinations.

A coat of Rustoleum Universal Hammered Metal and they blend together nicely.

+1
I've not had any issue with Amazon either.

Additionally there are not a lot of tray dividers that come with the case. These
are a tight fit and work really well.

Persusal of said site:

Just checked Amazon, too - my initial suggestion was going to be to get a third
party that you trust to buy it off Amazon, then over to you - turns out that
eBay has slightly better deals, within say $5-10 less. Depends on the seller
though. Don't forget to check their recent FB.

And just to round it out, the source:

You get broken ones from Walmart and Home Depot?

Not broken, they usually never come. I bought from walmart and it never arrived.
It was a bad 3rd party seller and there was a whole bunch of nonsense about how
they listed it but never had it. With home depot it was lost for weeks both times
I tried to buy them. I got one but not the other. At least I got the two refunds.

Hi Bricklink,

Anyone know a good place to find Akro-Mils 64 drawer cabinets? I have had repeated,
horrible issues buying them from both Walmart and Home Depot, and I don't
use Amazon. Is Ebay a trustworthy enough source? Any other ideas?

Much appreciated,

Upstate_Brickz

Did the entire Erase Data and Reset steps, returning the iPhone to factory settings

For someone who says "I know next to nothing of consumer electronics" you're
learning surprisingly quick.

I'd like to think that I'm just that intelligent I'm not. The credit
goes to some here and Apple that made it childishly simple, even for me. The
process took less than 5 mins, it actually took more time trying to recall our
Apple ID and password.

The future is looking bright for you!

Thanks. I'll take 'that' observation any day of the week.

I was looking for a Wheel and Tire Assembly (Item No: 56145c01) for my project.
But the given wheel in the Part List is totally different with BrickLink. The
tire (Item No: 44309) given is not the correct one when I compare the difference
between BrickLink and Studio 2.0. The image attachments are uploaded. It maybe
a small problem but I do hope that this can be fixed ASAP. Thanks!

Yours Sincerely,

Anyone have experience with this type of thing? I’m reluctant to toss it into

Any advise appreciated.

Apple products always retain some value, I usually sell my old phones on FB Marketplace/ebay
after making sure it's fully wiped and reset. It doesn't cover the cost
of a newer one but it does help

Did the wipe/reset thing.

My son plays around over on FB marketplace, maybe I'll just let him try and
do something with it, give the proceeds to his sister.

I appreciate the advise. Thanks, Ryan.

Just spontaneous thoughts when creating your account, or were there personal
significance to any of the three bits of proffered self-identification?

No matter how trivial you might think it, others often find such things vicariously
enjoyable. Even if your post seems inconsequential to you, it's often not
to others and can be a fun distraction for both author and readers alike.

Some of the best reads here over the years for me, have been the more personable
anecdotes. I’d like to read yours. That is if you're bold enough to share?

kidsncritters is from the fact that my wife and I adopted 8 children - all now
young adults and teens! The critters started with my now married daughter who
loves animals. We still have a few snakes, a couple cats, a three year old german
shepherd dog. Also chickens and ducks on our property that are under watch by
a crazy goose who loves to chase everyone!

Sunset bay bricks because we live near the shore and we have awesome sunsets!

Similar thing for me: When I left the backwater where I grew up for uni, some

Hi Sandra
That's a great story. It has given me a few ideas....
Also love the help from your daughter. What a great day.
Thanks for sharing!

So Terra is my last name, so kind of boring and obvious.

But the logo is more interesting. I started the store seriously last fall, just
in time for Christmas Sales. I already had a lot of stock including a pile of
collectable minifigs that I was selling on commission for an adult collector
who is a friend.

Despite all the discussion against being able to sell Lego in person, I decided
to try it at a couple of craft sales near my home. So packed up a stack of drawers
with complete sets in bags, a bunch of vintage sets that were pre-built (because
they show better), a couple creator boxes, and a box of minifigs. Set up a good
display of the sets, both built and bagged. Kind of made a little town on few
levels including a race track. But I couldn't figure out how to display minifigs
in a way that people weren't digging through them as Covid was still making
the rounds. I had brought my 10 yr old daughter to keep me company (turns out
she's a great at sales!) and she was digging through a creator box behind
the table. I made many sales that day including the race track and most of the
minifigs all due to her creation.

She built multiple sets of bleachers that the minifigs could stand on and everyone
was visible! She set them up in little action situations (arguments, Bath guy
loosing a towel, lovers kissing underneath). People came by and spend 30 minutes
or more just looking at all the minifigs and then of course buying them. Then
she also made a big sign to create a type of backboard. Using some plates and
a bunch of yellow tiles of various types and shades. She came up with Terra
Brick logo in bricks! Later I took a picture and adjusted the background to
make it more clear, got it printed on t-shirts, cards, and my Bricklink Logo.

So that's my Logo Story.

Sandra
