Does anyone know what color the hoses are for Luke's Landspeeder? I don't
have any hoses near to that color to compare them. My guess was flat silver,
but it doesn't seem to match that color in other parts. I saw somewhere else
they were calling it Metallic Silver, but I don't know.

According to LEGO, they are Flat Silver:

https://brickset.com/parts/6335213/outer-cable-232mm

And they wouldn't match other parts in ABS due to the material used to make
the hoses.

Thanks!

I've been wondering, and please don't take this as any kind of criticism
of how our catalog is being run, but why aren't sets inventoried here faster?
Are we still depending on users to inventory the sets? With Lego owning Bricklink,
I thought the inventory lists would be updated almost at release, either by
Lego supplying a part list, or supplying actual sets for verification.

-jed

Hi Jed!

No offense taken. These are just some of the reasons why inventories here have
to be done by individuals:

- LEGO does not include sticker sheets in their data.
- LEGO does not include defined minifigure assemblies in their data.
- LEGO does not include information about extra parts in their data.
- LEGO does not care about what part variants are really in the set.
- LEGO does not name or categorize new parts how BrickLink does.
- LEGO does not name new patterned parts in any way.

And there are more.

BrickLink prides itself on having the most accurate inventories possible, and
that will always include actual users doing inventories. There are some things
we are trying to do behind the scenes to speed up the process, but those are
in the works.

Cheers,
Randy

The skis with numbers 28922 and 18744 are 1mm longer in length than mold number
90509, 48mm to 47mm, respectively. Although the three have their studs in the

I will consider a split of this part into 90509 and 18744/28922.

Comments from Submitter:
I cannot find any evidence that this part exists in Medium Orange, and new parts certainly were not being made in a retired color as late as 2006. Will attach a photo of this set with a Bright Light Orange fence in another post.

This is from an online listing of this set.

In this image the cone looks more Medium Orange, which makes you think the fence
is bright light orange indeed. But I think the fence is yellow.

In that listing, the cone definitely looks orange and the fence looks yellow.

This set may have been updated from earlier colors (medium orange cone and bright
light orange fence) to later colors (orange and yellow) if it was produced for
a couple of years.

That is highly unlikely. Bright Light Orange replaced Medium Orange and there’s
no evidence that this cone ever appeared in the older color. The mold was first
used in 2004, which is after the color change. These parts are definitely just
current colors.

If current colors, then I would highly expect a yellow fence and nothing else.

Also if that fence is the same material as this part:

Part No: 6020 Name: Bar 7 x 3 with 2 Clips (Ladder)
*
6020 Bar 7 x 3 with 2 Clips (Ladder)
Parts: Bar {Yellow}

Then indeed could be yellow but a bit darker that seems Bright Light Orange,
the tone happens in a few other similar material parts.

That's exactly what I was thinking, Sergio. That's why I just ordered
a sealed one of these to be here in a week or so. Then we'll see for sure.

Yes. In fact, I am now doing such a thing for a number of parts along with a
couple of other members. We are trying to learn as much as we can about the "hidden"
parts that are missing in the design number timeline. Thanks for helping with
this "behind-the-scenes" project.

I will get to it soon.

Randy

I think 58234 should be added as an alternate part number to all three of the

The 58235 and 50281 are not as important in the catalog as they are only visible

will be reconsidered because there are good comparison images of this sword in
Flat Silver and Pearl Light Gray and both have a PCC

4278077 is for part 48495 in Cool Silver. That colour is not part of the current
catalog and should be conflated with Pearl Light Gray.

So yes, there are two colours and two PCC, but in BrickLink they are both Pearl
Light Gray.

If we keep making exceptions when two silver colours are known in the catalog,
then we will never be able to untangle this mess. If we do move the part, the
mess can be limited to Pearl Light Gray only.

The Pearl Light Gray and Flat Silver project is huge. It will take lots of time
and planning, so don't expect it to happen overnight.

a 2x4 brick. However, it looked like there was no way that it could be LEGO.
Still I thought that I should ask the rest of you, I have been fooled and mistaken
genuine LEGO for NON-LEGO before.

Not LEGO.

10 Parts, 2002

4342-1 (Inv) Story Builder - Crazy Castle

I am looking for all of the others.

This and 4345 are incredibly difficult to come by. I hope that the latter contains
parts in TLG 137 Medium Orange, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were just
Orange. However, the fact that four of these sets have parts in ‘Medium’ colors
is a good sign. Are these cards softer than typical ABS parts?

As far as I can tell, the cards are ABS.

I would like to make a formal apology to you and everyone else for not thinking
all of the consequences through for these changes. Although I am an experienced
contributor and admin, I am human and not perfect. I make mistakes. Most of the
parts on sprue will not affect hardly anything or cause a stir, but this part
is different and special because it is so ubiquitous. As others have seen, this
one part has had the changes reverted, and I take full responsibility for the
blame. I am currently taking my floggings and licking my wounds, and I hope there
are no hard feelings had by all.

Thanks,
Randy

I have the first one. In fact, that is my image for it. It is a white cloth
with printing on one side of it, so white is the base color. Therefore, the color
for it is correct.

Are you sure that white is the base color for the other one?

Hi Randy,

I'm not sure, but I hope to be soon.
I messaged two sellers, one of them has both.
I'm curious if TLG switched colors when using the same printing.

Please hold it open.

Thanks,
Diana

Seems its the same cloth just that got sewed the green threads.

It seems to be, but I want to be sure before switching the color. I need to see
an image of the other side of the rug.

I didn't ask for an image, but both sellers I asked confirm that the back
is white.

Seller who has both:
"i can confirm that both parts have a white back. so i think they are made of
the same cloth."

Thank you, Diana, for the investigative work needed.

This request has been completed. You can now update the inventory that contains
the rug.

Cheers,
Randy

Add 41856c01 to

Part No: 41857c01 Name: Pullback Motor 6 x 2 x 1 1/3 with Black Base, White Shafts (Motor 1)
*
41857c01 Pullback Motor 6 x 2 x 1 1/3 with Black Base, White Shafts (Motor 1)
Parts: Motor, Non-Electric

41856 is the ID of the light gray top part as per this image from Mark:

http://v4ei.com/brickref/41857/41857-parts.jpg

Also it matches the catalog note.

Add 41856c01pb01 to

Part No: 41857c01pb01 Name: Pullback Motor 6 x 2 x 1 1/3 with Black Base, White Shafts (Motor 1) with 'LR52-89' on Front / Back, 'NES-001' on Sides Pattern (Stickers) - Set 4299
*
41857c01pb01 Pullback Motor 6 x 2 x 1 1/3 with Black Base, White Shafts (Motor 1) with 'LR52-89' on Front / Back, 'NES-001' on Sides Pattern (Stickers) - Set 4299
Parts: Motor, Non-Electric

Add 41858c01 to

Part No: 41861c01 Name: Pullback Motor 6 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Black Base, White Shafts (Motor 2)
*
41861c01 Pullback Motor 6 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Black Base, White Shafts (Motor 2)
Parts: Motor, Non-Electric

For this I just know the note that already is in the entry.

Hi Sergio!

Could you please let me know which design numbers goes to which parts of the
assembly? Is 41856 the black part or the gray part? And the same question
goes for 41857 and 41861. I like to add catalog notes that describe the design
numbers for parts of an assembly similar to the one on

Part No: 47154c01 Name: Electric, Motor 9V 4 x 4 x 3 1/3 (Undetermined Type)
*
47154c01 Electric, Motor 9V 4 x 4 x 3 1/3 (Undetermined Type)
Parts: Electric, Motor
Marked for Deletion

Cheers,
Randy

I requesting adding these as alternates because the IDs in the notes are not
searchable, at least not that I know within BL, so if any of this parts appears
a user could find it with the *.

Part 47154 seems a great example, detailed info but also all IDs as alternates
too.

Thanks, Sergio. Your request has been completed.

Cheers,
Randy

Both of them have the imprinted number 2641.

Can you confirm that there are no other differences? For example the main support
beam is the same size and shape on both?

If its only the underside of the top plate with any differences I think its sufficient
to add a note to the catalog entry and your image for reference. Neither set
these are used in relies on the different design during the build.

Thanks,
Paul.

Sorry for letting you wait so long. I had to find this item again - and now I
was successful. So, there is no other difference than the one we discussed here.
The support beam has the same size and shape, also the cross supports inside
the support beam are the same size / place.
Best regards,
Marc

This part will be split then as they are functionally different in regards to
building possibilities. Thanks for the information.

Cheers,
Randy

Andrew (Broxy's Bricks)

The reason it was updated was because all sprued parts were updated.

All sprued parts were rid of their assembly constants for a few reasons: (1)
to actually make the part connections between LEGO data and BrickLink data more
in sync; (2) to make them easier to find when searching from other sources; (3)
they are not true assemblies (they are actually one molded part and not an assembly
of parts which are *built* from other base parts); and (4) to sync up with how
multipacks and plastic sheets are handled and/or will be handled in the catalog
(which is by just the design number and no assembly constants).

For example,

Part No: 70501 Name: Minifigure, Utensil Coins on Sprue (10, 20, 30, 40) Type 1
*
70501 (Inv) Minifigure, Utensil Coins on Sprue (10, 20, 30, 40) Type 1
Parts: Minifigure, Utensil

Part No: 44658 Name: Minifigure, Weapon Knives, 2 on Sprue
*
44658 (Inv) Minifigure, Weapon Knives, 2 on Sprue
Parts: Minifigure, Weapon

Part No: 19807 Name: Minifigure, Weapon Shuriken Throwing Star with Textured Grips, 2 on Sprue
*
19807 (Inv) Minifigure, Weapon Shuriken Throwing Star with Textured Grips, 2 on Sprue
Parts: Minifigure, Weapon
etc.

All of these had assembly constants, but now they don't. However, all of
the subparts of these sprued parts have for a very long time gone by subpart
numbers ending in 'a', and 4073 was a lone holdout for a very long time
because it was the most forward facing part. Now it has finally been standardized
with all of the other sprued parts.

Also, if you look at a larger sprue or a multipack, you will see the subparts
of those entries use letter suffixes:

Part No: 30019 Name: Belville Accessories - Complete Sprue - Hospital
*
30019 (Inv) Belville Accessories - Complete Sprue - Hospital
Parts: Belville

or

Part No: 73766 Name: Minifigure, Weapon Pack Sickles, Swords and Shuriken Throwing Stars, 10 in Bag (Multipack)
*
73766 (Inv) Minifigure, Weapon Pack Sickles, Swords and Shuriken Throwing Stars, 10 in Bag (Multipack)
Parts: Minifigure, Weapon

I know that the change to this one part is the most obvious, but there is a lot
to be gained by standardizing all sprued parts with each other and with how other
things are handled in the catalog. It will take a little time to get used to,
but it will not take long before it is part of everyone's knowledge.

I hope that this message goes a ways towards explaining the rationale. Please
let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,
Randy

for it is correct.

Are you sure that white is the base color for the other one?

Cheers,
Randy

Any idea's about the color?
I received pictures compared with other copper parts from the period, but it
doesn't really look like TLG 300.

Diana

Is the old Goblin copper the same color as the new Batman weapons and Friends
pets?

No.

Old: LEGO 139 Copper
New: LEGO 346 Copper Metallic

It is from years later and perhaps is another TLG color, but it is copper color.
I'm not sure it would be worth getting a new color.

It is a painted copper coating similar to Metallic Silver or Metallic Gold.
I would like to see this added as Metallic Copper to the BrickLink colors.

49 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2022
Sets: Disney: Disney Princess: Frozen

* Add 1 Minifigure dp158 Elsa - White and Lavender Dress (Extra)

Comments from Submitter:
Set purchased at LEGO Store in Disney Springs on May 4, 2022, contained 2 white and lavender skirts for Elsa.

If (only) an extra skirt was added, this doesn't make an extra complete minifig.
I also think this is a packing error?! Never saw extra skirts, unless it's
in the instruction's parts list and in that case it would be a regular part,
not an extra.

Diana

Definitely a packing error. And a big one at that.

Wow. I didn't know that there was anyone out there who didn't know who

Will report at the Help Desk too.

One of those 'good' problems

But it's been around for sometime, purportedly. Congrats on your new brick
color, though! Dark Turquoise, still among the strangest of Lego colors, imho.

Thank you! Purple was my favourite, now I need to go for the Violet one, quite
a looooooong journey here

Way to go, Sergio!

Are any of these present anywhere on Bricklink? It looks like this partnership
occurred back in 2004, but I can't seem to find any trace of it on Bricklink.
Does anybody know more about this?

I've come to find that there are a lot of obscure Japanese promotional items
on this Brickshelf page:
https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=longnana

Unfortunately, this is an area of the catalog that has been neglected. Items
that come from the far east rarely make it into the catalog as the number of
contributors from that area of the world is extremely low. Most of the major
contributors to BrickLink are either North American- or European-based, and it
is hard for us to get ahold of these products.

  Hello Fellow Bricklinkers,

I have got some cheap second hand sets from a seller. I got the Lego Tower of
Orthanc 10237. Th set has a lot of elements on add angles angles and this has
resulted in dust gathering.

Some of the 16 tooth peices have gathered almost half a centimetre of dust. Others
like the floors of the building, (namely the basement) have gathered LAYERS of
dust and even after washing the baseplates the dust is still there.

I have also tried swabbing them with cotton balls.

I really need a way to remove the layers of dust. Anything help will be much
appreciated.

Thanks,
The Cute Giraffe

Use a soft bristled toothbrush that has _all_ bristles in a slightly warm, soapy
bath. There is no need to scrub hard. Just be gentle and the dust should come
off quickly. Then leave the parts to air dry. That should easily do the trick.

Cheers,
Randy

9 sets with a 'Copper' Sword to go.

I have ordered 8813-1. Just waiting for it to get here from a faraway place
called Nederlands.

The only challenges now are the Ravensburger sets. The catalog photo is gone,
though. I believe the admins have also reached the conclusion that a Copper sword
doesn't really exist.

We removed the catalog image because it was a render and catalog entries having
no images persuades sellers to submit images that are missing. Maybe we will
get a copper image, maybe not. We shall see, but we have not yet made a conclusion.

Thank you! I will submit the change requests... I wish we know who BLUSER_65485
was who did the original inventory. I suspect the addition of the Yellow sword
was a result of the reflection on the box in the set image. I guess we will never
know!

Jen

For what it's worth, that was my assumption as well concerning the yellow
sword in that set.

*
851542 (Inv) Magnet Set, Minifigures Knights Kingdom II (6) blister pack
Gear: Magnet: Castle: Knights Kingdom II

New and Sealed to check the colors. Now I just have to find it again...

Jen

Found it!

I can't take better pics until tomorrow but here's what I got:

I will open tomorrow to confirm, but both the king and the purple knight are
holding a sword that matches this one here in the middle. Copper and Pearl Gold
scimitar included for comparison. There is obviously no Yellow sword in my set.

Jen

Hi Jen,

Great you found it. Are you sure you want to open it?
If both the king and purple knight have indeed the same color sword (hard to
tell by the set image), looking at the comparison image I would say it's
reddish gold.

Imo you have
- 1 black
- 1 flat dark gold
- 1 metal blue

- 2 reddish gold
- 1 pearl light gray (pre 2010 silver)

But let's see what our color experts have to say.

Diana

Sounds right to me, Diana.

1 Part, 2008
Sets: MINDSTORMS: NXT

* Change 1 Part {Light Bluish Gray to Dark Bluish Gray} bb0804 Electric Sensor, Adapter - Mindstorms NXT to Vernier

Comments from Submitter:
This part is actually mostly Dark Bluish Gray. The image and xref have already been switched. This completes the changeover.
