I think it is currently out of stock from any seller (?)

But why is it now gone on the list of colors for this part?

Because there is no such thing as the list of colors of a part. There
are several lists on the catalog page:
(1) available colors = which colors of this part are currently available in stores;
this does not mean that the color actually exists, only that the seller listed
the part in this color.
(2) on wanted lists = which colors of this part are currently specified on wanted
lists; a lot of these colors are wishful thinking on behalf of the potential
buyers.
(3) known colors = which colors are known to exist in set/gear/etc inventories;
these colors have been confirmed to exist and can be traced to their origin.
This list is not exclusive in that parts may still exist in another color in
sets that have not been inventoried, in test runs, in special releases or escapes,
from model shops or unknown other sources.

So as to your question, I assume you are looking at list (1): the color disappears
from this selection whenever there is no-one having this part in this color available
in their shop. They may still have them in their stock rooms and you may still
list an item for sale in this color or place it on your wanted list.

A good indication of whether a part actually exists in a color, is when there
is an actual photo of the part in this color. Either in the catalog or in the
seller's listing. For renders this is mostly true as well, but they may occasionally
exist when a part has never been seen in this color. So if you see listings without
an image, always be aware that it may be wrongly listed.

[p=3626c] does have a single listing (at the time of writing) but no image in
BLY [p=3626c,103] and the wrong color image associated to that listing.

I read on Eurobricks that the BLY plain minifig head only exists as a "factory"
item.
So perhaps it was indeed "illegally" made.
Bummer. Just when I thought I could finally complete several BLY monofigs.

There are only a few pearl dark gray (pdg) monofigs out there and claim to have
pdg hands as well. I could not find on BL the original minifigs where these pdg
hands came from.
Any ideas?

There have been several occasions when I had to place a second order just after
placing one at a store. Sometimes, the system would create a second 'batch'
order and combine it with the first one. The second invoice would usually have
a price + shipping marked as 'TBD'.

At some shops however, the system just creates a second order and charges a new
shipping fee outright.

Are the above preferences set by the store owner?

Has there ever been a classic space minifig in light gray?
I keep seeing photos of it in MOCs and on sale on eBay but I could not find it
in the BL or BrickSet database.

You should consider posting the instructions - this would sell well!

it was the western set instead but theres no way of telling. 2. And this one
Im torn on because I ordered it. But apparently the Clockwork Aquarium set makers
were telling people that if they didnt log in they could order multple sets.
This is kinda shady. And with such a low price point it is definitely doable.
I feel the only way to make this right is to open it up for a sixth set. Let
the next set be made that reaches 3000.

I voted for the calendar and it was my top choice from the list. I understand
why some people don't like it, but I've wanted this from the time it
popped up on Ideas.

One thing I noticed was that this list appears to have had many expensive sets.
Perhaps those who would have ordered the calendar, already ordered the other
sets. Most people only ordered one this time around. Case in point, the Lego
Store modular sold out pretty quick.

Are the designers free to offer their instructions for sale, like at Rebrickable

Why do some bricks (belonging to the same set, from the same bag) turn yellow
and others don't?

I recently bought an old SW set from ebay (#9500). It looks like the box was
damaged from improper storage but the bags were intact. This is an old set and
I was actually expecting everything to be somewhat yellowed.

When I opened the bags, some bricks of the same shape and color were "yellowed"
but others weren't! Given that it was a starship, it almost looks as if the
finished model was battle-damaged! LOL

It wasn't so much that plastic turns yellow over time that bothers me, but
that some apparently do not? I also happen to collect die cast models with plastic
parts, and in those cases, all plastic components turn yellow over time.

So it baffles me why 3 or 4 of the same brick within the same numbered bag yellowed
and others didn't? Is this merely because of uneven (heat?) exposure or because
they were from different batches in the factory (and therefore the older ones
turned yellow and the newer batches need more time)?

Glancing at the large image of 9500, I see no exposed white parts. Are they internal
structural bricks ? I've always been of the opinion that UV exposure can
cause white and blue bricks to change hue.

The other thing that jumps out at me is the issue year of 2012. I am aware that
LEGO had different ABS issues during that era (e.g. brittle dk red) so it may
well be that the parts in question came from different batches, and the ABS pellets
were different.

The set itself was unassembled. The individual bags were still sealed but the
box is gone even from the previous owner.

Just as an example, bag #1 contained two 1x2 inverted bricks. One was yellowed
and the other one not. It does not really bug me that all the light bluish gray
bricks are yellowed, but that one is and the other one isn't. I could not
put yellow components on opposite sides. LOL

Item 40176 is a SW Scarif Stormtrooper in polybag, but it comes with a podium
that attaches to an adjacent one.

My question is whether this is supposed to be part of a particular collection
of minifigs where they are all in a podium, and can be attached together, the
same way the 20th anniversary minifigs are supposed to be displayed together.

I am a bit confused because this poly bag was included with other poly bag minifigs
that do not come with a podium. Further, there are about two or three more poly
bag minifigs with their respective podium but they do not appear to be in the
"same" series as this.

At the end of this all, was the podium just an experiment by Lego?

It was 2306 Central Time when I hit "order" on the Lego web site. All the items
in my basket were still 'In stock.'
It took about 12+ hours before I got an email confirmation (usually it would
be immediate).
When I did receive it, Santa's Sleigh and the Disney Castle micro build were
already out of stock!
Crazy! In six or so minutes, their entire stock were wiped out!

Seriously FIX
THIS! Or just make it official LEGO and keep the same price tag no harm done.
People who bye it because of retail value instead of having the intention to
build it still will get there money back.

Its the castle in the forest that has to be re opened and let everybody who wants
it get one. Or else you are just Heartless towards all the fans!

To put it frankly. stuff most of the rest of the sets its the castle most of
us want!!
If upcoming rounds don't have the castle , there not going to be interesting.
What more evidence do you need! I wont bye another set instead of a castle. I'm
sorry if other designers feels bad if "castle in the forest" sells better then
there sets do , but it cant be helped if people wants the Forestmen castle!!

   Sincerely,
The so disappointed in scalpers and killers of childhood dreams. Tears just tears...

I agree.
The castle set is very popular and has high demand. There is nothing unfair with
that. Some designs are just better or just more popular than others.
The unfair part in this whole scheme is the subjective selection and decision
by Lego.
Without being political, this whole thing is like an election. Fans have voted
which designs they want and have won by reaching 10K votes. And after this election,
LEGO comes and picks who they want disqualified after the fact. Weeding out the
IP ones is I guess fair as there are realities that just could not be met.
Then there is this other round of voting in which they feel they have to level
the playing field for all designers. I think that limiting access to the castle
is doing more harm than good. We will never truly know which design is far more
popular.

I think moving forward, perhaps TLG can restructure their Ideas selections as
well. Instead of selecting a "winner" from tranches of 10K winners, they can
just consolidate the themes several times each year and choose from there. I
say this because the castle is the only one of its theme in this batch. Its popularity
may not only be because of its design, but also because it is the only one in
its theme in this first roster.

Agree completely.
This program had a lot of potential - Ideas has so many creative submissions,
yet so few make it to production.
Few make it to the designer program. Then everything is sold out in not even
an hour!

In NEWS, Admin writes:
Thank you for the incredible interest you showed in the BrickLink Designer Program. We have been blown away by the response. As with any new endeavor, some things went well, and others don’t go to plan.

What worked

Based on our first round of crowdfunding, we believe the BrickLink Designer Program has strong potential. Your interest exceeds all our expectations. The portfolio of products is strong, and the designers are a joy to work with. We are looking forward to preparing for rounds 2 and 3.

However, there are a few things we need to address urgently with Round 1.

What needs to be improved

Thank you to everyone who has shared comments and feedback with us over the past week. While we understand many of you are frustrated, we are grateful for your quick and clear input.

There are four areas we want to address:

Site performance

Limited production of 5,000 units of each set & ordering glitch

Order limits of 5 sets per customer

Shipping limited to countries serviced by LEGO.com

Site performance & server capacity

When the crowdfunding went live on Thursday July 1 traffic to the site overloaded BrickLink’s servers. This meant some users couldn’t place their orders in time and for many, the site ground to a halt. We apologize for any disappointment this caused. We are currently reviewing server capacity.

Limited production and ordering glitch

The limit of 5,000 units per set was based on the AFOL Designer Program run in 2019. For that release, we produced 2,500 sets which didn’t all sell out. We obviously underestimated the appeal of the Bricklink Designer Program sets and because of that, we will double the limit for future releases.

The high level of demand was compounded by the site performance issues. An ordering glitch meant that people were able to pre-order 5,000 additional Castle in the Forest sets, which means we’ve received orders for 10,000 sets.

We have talked to many of you in the community about how to address this and have decided on the following actions:

Produce 10,000 of the Castle in the Forest sets so we can deliver to everyone who ordered.

Re-opening pre-ordering for round 1 on August 3rd to allow the four projects Kakapo, Great Fishing Boat, Sheriff’s Safe and Pursuit of Flight to also sell up to 10,000 sets.

Increase production for Crowdfunding rounds 2 and 3 to 10,000 each to meet demand.

We appreciate that this approach may not satisfy everyone, but we had to balance meeting users’ expectations with offering a fair outcome, so all designers had the chance to sell the same number of sets and the potential to dilute some of the exclusivity that comes with doubling the number of set available. We hope you understand.

Increasing production will delay shipping and future rounds of crowdfunding. Since we are doubling the production run, the additional 5,000 sets for Round 1 will be shipped in June 2022, as opposed to January 2022. This will also delay the release of Rounds 2 & 3. The final plan for this will be communicated at a later stage.

If, because of these changes, you wish to cancel the sets you’ve pre-ordered, please contact LEGO Customer Service.

Order limits of five per customer

We initially set the maximum order quantity at five per customer. Unfortunately, we saw a very small number of opportunistic customers hoarding sets and re-selling them for inflated prices. We’re disappointed by this as it wasn’t our intention to enable such behavior. We want everyone to have an opportunity to get a hold of a set, so going forward, we will set a maximum order limit of 1 set per customer. This will apply from when we re-open Round 1 to additional orders and to future crowdfunding rounds.

It’s important to point out that 75% of orders for Castle in the Forest were for one set– so we’d like to thank you for being considerate of other fans.

Shipping limited to LEGO Shop countries

We have decided to sell BrickLink Designer Program sets through the LEGO.com shop to give you a smooth shipping and support process. Unfortunately, this also limits the countries to which we can ship. For now, we plan to continue to use LEGO.com and not offer additional shipping destinations.

In summary

For Round 1, we will increase the number of sets available from 5,000 to 10,000. Castle in the Forest has already reached this amount. The four other sets will re-open to additional pre-ordering on August 3rd, but it will not be possible to pre-order additional Castle in the Forest sets. The additional production run will delay in shipping and release dates for crowdfunding rounds 2 and 3.

All future pre-orders will have a quantity limit of 1.

Unfortunately, in the current LEGO.com setup we are not able to ship to additional countries.

Again, we apologize for any disappointment and hope that the steps outlined above go some way to address the concerns raised.

Thank you for your patience, feedback and support for the BrickLink Designer Program. We look forward to building a better experience moving forward.

Sincerely,
The BrickLink Team

So what’s wrong with making more than just 10k sets???

You’ve acknowledged that there were a lot of areas for improvement, that led
to some interested collectors being shut out from purchasing the castle. So if
you’re re-opening pre-orders for the other sets, why not do a one-time increase
of the castle set limit? 12k? 15k?

Wow! It's only the 2nd of July and there is nothing more to order!

There’s still Kakapo (the parrot).  Well, it’s not reached 5,000 on the main
page.

Sold out in UK too. The "still available (but not really)" type of advertising
is annoying but not really unexpected.

This level enthusiasm from the community should really get Lego thinking about
Ideas more seriously.

Hope you refunded the 2nd refund made by Paypal and informed Paypal the issue

Nothing to report further. I received an email notice from PayPal stating they
ruled in my favor, and that the case was closed. My Resolution center page has
nothing pending. Thanks for your help! That seller was just so stubborn, but
immediately complied after your advice!

Personally, I think you deserve a non-positive feedback. (though you would not
have been in this situation when buying from me)

I still believe that BL is not the black market where any rule goes. Certain
standards have to be followed (and the law of the land prevails as with one previous
response.)

Thanks again for your post, I will keep in mind to avoid transactions with you.
Grandstanding.

Background:
I placed an order, and status has not changed in over a week. His terms say not
to email him.
I send follow up emails nonetheless, but of course no response. I file a NSS.
He then responds and says that he "thinks" (his exact wording) that the order
went out. (My other orders I placed after this transaction from elsewhere have
all arrived). I then said I want a cancelation/ refund.
He comes back and asks me to remove the NSS first, because the system reportedly
is preventing him to do anything. He is also instructing me to file OCR instead.
(I believe I would have to remove the NSS, then file a cancelation. In which
case it would look like I was the one defaulting on the transaction.)

I've had a similar situation in the past where the seller refunded me through
PayPal, then I removed the NSS.

However, this guy is saying I should not listen to anyone in the forum, and he
is threatening to have "Admin" involved.

I believe I am well within my right to file the NSS, as the waiting period lapsed
and no service was rendered in exchange for the money received from me.

I stood my ground, and this guy contacted Admin hoping they would side with him.

In the end, he actually processed the refund, and I retracted the NSS, as per
BL guidelines. He was kind enough to share the response of that "Admin"...

"...The correct NSS procedure is that the seller ships the order OR refunds the
payment, then the buyer should cancel the NSS or if he doesn't the seller
shows Admin proof of refund or shipping then the seller will not receive a strike..."

PayPal sent me a notice stating that they ruled in my favor. (I filed a separate
PayPal case).

If the NSS is completed any negative feedback for the order would be removed.

I've had a similar situation in the past where the seller refunded me through
PayPal, then I removed the NSS.

Right, refund, then remove the NSS, then the order can be cancelled (which is
really something to help the seller, since he or she then wouldn't have to
pay BrickLink fees on the order; from the buyer's standpoint it doesn't
really matter once the refund has been received).

Seller is now saying that if I don't remove the NSS, he WILL SEND my order
(I guess because he knows I don't want it anymore?)

And I actually don't need it anymore because I already sourced the parts
from elsewhere.

In such case that he does send it out, do I still have the right to cancel?

Is there a particular reason why the more "classic" princesses such as Sleeping
Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White have not been made as traditional Lego minifigures?
I think some of them exist in the Friends format. However the Frozen girls seem
to have been made in both forms.

Is there a quick way to cancel out items on a "wanted list" from an existing
Lego set?

For example, I uploaded an item list for a Star Wars X-wing Fighter from a Brickvault
custom build instructions. If say for example I buy a Lego set (e.g. 75273 Poe
Dameron's X-Wing Fighter), is there a way to cancel out the parts available
from this set from my custom build wanted list? Or would I just have to do this
one by one?
