I think it is currently out of stock from any seller (?)
But why is it now gone on the list of colors for this part?
|
Because there is no such thing as the list of colors of a part. There
are several lists on the catalog page:
(1) available colors = which colors of this part are currently available in stores;
this does not mean that the color actually exists, only that the seller listed
the part in this color.
(2) on wanted lists = which colors of this part are currently specified on wanted
lists; a lot of these colors are wishful thinking on behalf of the potential
buyers.
(3) known colors = which colors are known to exist in set/gear/etc inventories;
these colors have been confirmed to exist and can be traced to their origin.
This list is not exclusive in that parts may still exist in another color in
sets that have not been inventoried, in test runs, in special releases or escapes,
from model shops or unknown other sources.
So as to your question, I assume you are looking at list (1): the color disappears
from this selection whenever there is no-one having this part in this color available
in their shop. They may still have them in their stock rooms and you may still
list an item for sale in this color or place it on your wanted list.
A good indication of whether a part actually exists in a color, is when there
is an actual photo of the part in this color. Either in the catalog or in the
seller's listing. For renders this is mostly true as well, but they may occasionally
exist when a part has never been seen in this color. So if you see listings without
an image, always be aware that it may be wrongly listed.
[p=3626c] does have a single listing (at the time of writing) but no image in
BLY [p=3626c,103] and the wrong color image associated to that listing.
|
I read on Eurobricks that the BLY plain minifig head only exists as a "factory"
item.
So perhaps it was indeed "illegally" made.
Bummer. Just when I thought I could finally complete several BLY monofigs.

| There are only a few pearl dark gray (pdg) monofigs out there and claim to have
pdg hands as well. I could not find on BL the original minifigs where these pdg
hands came from.
Any ideas?

| There have been several occasions when I had to place a second order just after
placing one at a store. Sometimes, the system would create a second 'batch'
order and combine it with the first one. The second invoice would usually have
a price + shipping marked as 'TBD'.
At some shops however, the system just creates a second order and charges a new
shipping fee outright.
Are the above preferences set by the store owner?

I keep seeing photos of it in MOCs and on sale on eBay but I could not find it

You should consider posting the instructions - this would sell well!

it was the western set instead but theres no way of telling. 2. And this one
Im torn on because I ordered it. But apparently the Clockwork Aquarium set makers
were telling people that if they didnt log in they could order multple sets.
This is kinda shady. And with such a low price point it is definitely doable.
I feel the only way to make this right is to open it up for a sixth set. Let
the next set be made that reaches 3000.

I voted for the calendar and it was my top choice from the list. I understand
why some people don't like it, but I've wanted this from the time it
popped up on Ideas.
One thing I noticed was that this list appears to have had many expensive sets.
Perhaps those who would have ordered the calendar, already ordered the other
sets. Most people only ordered one this time around. Case in point, the Lego
Store modular sold out pretty quick.

| Why do some bricks (belonging to the same set, from the same bag) turn yellow
and others don't?
I recently bought an old SW set from ebay (#9500). It looks like the box was
damaged from improper storage but the bags were intact. This is an old set and
I was actually expecting everything to be somewhat yellowed.
When I opened the bags, some bricks of the same shape and color were "yellowed"
but others weren't! Given that it was a starship, it almost looks as if the
finished model was battle-damaged! LOL
It wasn't so much that plastic turns yellow over time that bothers me, but
that some apparently do not? I also happen to collect die cast models with plastic
parts, and in those cases, all plastic components turn yellow over time.
So it baffles me why 3 or 4 of the same brick within the same numbered bag yellowed
and others didn't? Is this merely because of uneven (heat?) exposure or because
they were from different batches in the factory (and therefore the older ones
turned yellow and the newer batches need more time)?
|
Glancing at the large image of 9500, I see no exposed white parts. Are they internal
structural bricks ? I've always been of the opinion that UV exposure can
cause white and blue bricks to change hue.
The other thing that jumps out at me is the issue year of 2012. I am aware that
LEGO had different ABS issues during that era (e.g. brittle dk red) so it may
well be that the parts in question came from different batches, and the ABS pellets
were different.
|
The set itself was unassembled. The individual bags were still sealed but the
box is gone even from the previous owner.
Just as an example, bag #1 contained two 1x2 inverted bricks. One was yellowed
and the other one not. It does not really bug me that all the light bluish gray
bricks are yellowed, but that one is and the other one isn't. I could not
put yellow components on opposite sides. LOL

|
| Item 40176 is a SW Scarif Stormtrooper in polybag, but it comes with a podium
that attaches to an adjacent one.
My question is whether this is supposed to be part of a particular collection
of minifigs where they are all in a podium, and can be attached together, the
same way the 20th anniversary minifigs are supposed to be displayed together.
I am a bit confused because this poly bag was included with other poly bag minifigs
that do not come with a podium. Further, there are about two or three more poly
bag minifigs with their respective podium but they do not appear to be in the
"same" series as this.
At the end of this all, was the podium just an experiment by Lego?

| It was 2306 Central Time when I hit "order" on the Lego web site. All the items
in my basket were still 'In stock.'
It took about 12+ hours before I got an email confirmation (usually it would
be immediate).
When I did receive it, Santa's Sleigh and the Disney Castle micro build were
already out of stock!
Crazy! In six or so minutes, their entire stock were wiped out!

THIS! Or just make it official LEGO and keep the same price tag no harm done.

Its the castle in the forest that has to be re opened and let everybody who wants

To put it frankly. stuff most of the rest of the sets its the castle most of
us want!!
If upcoming rounds don't have the castle , there not going to be interesting.
What more evidence do you need! I wont bye another set instead of a castle. I'm

there sets do , but it cant be helped if people wants the Forestmen castle!!

|
I agree.
The castle set is very popular and has high demand. There is nothing unfair with
that. Some designs are just better or just more popular than others.
The unfair part in this whole scheme is the subjective selection and decision
by Lego.
Without being political, this whole thing is like an election. Fans have voted
which designs they want and have won by reaching 10K votes. And after this election,
LEGO comes and picks who they want disqualified after the fact. Weeding out the
IP ones is I guess fair as there are realities that just could not be met.
Then there is this other round of voting in which they feel they have to level
the playing field for all designers. I think that limiting access to the castle
is doing more harm than good. We will never truly know which design is far more
popular.
I think moving forward, perhaps TLG can restructure their Ideas selections as
well. Instead of selecting a "winner" from tranches of 10K winners, they can
just consolidate the themes several times each year and choose from there. I
say this because the castle is the only one of its theme in this batch. Its popularity
may not only be because of its design, but also because it is the only one in
its theme in this first roster.

Agree completely.
This program had a lot of potential - Ideas has so many creative submissions,
yet so few make it to production.
Few make it to the designer program. Then everything is sold out in not even
an hour!
