Please, please, please give us an option to select a default "Sort By" in the
Wanted Lists.
My preference is "Alphabetical" and I note others have asked for this before.
The reverting to "Newest" every time you leave and return to the page is really
tiresome.
For such a useful and clever website I can't believe this is not a do-able
thing.
Does anybody read these ?

hi i came to this looking up this item : 93549pb02

and i wanted to know if i could use it in a mock...
yet to my surprises there is no note to how tall or wide this thing is in plate
or bricks etc ....

it nicely says the actual size but that means nothing to me in my brick maths....

it would be handy if such items would be expressed in ex : cylinder 1x1x2??

now im stuck guessing before i have it in hand...

i know its a pain to ad this after the fact but it would be handy to have this
info before i buy...

dont know if there are many of these items honestly its the first time im wondering
this after using brick link for years...

sorry if this subject already came up

Hello,

if i will download my orders, i must set the from and the to date.

Can you please put some prefill Buttons at the dates with "last month", "this
month", this year", "Last year". If enough space, this and last week is also
ok.

Kind regards

Hello there.

I'd be shocked if this hasn't been requested. But why can't we have
a default setting for Items for Sale and set the seller location.

I'm not interested in "anywhere" and every time change this to my local region
australia. It's never not annoying to do this every time.

Any chance on improving the interface when it comes to coupons? Not only are
there regular forum questions on how to use them, I miss using them all the time
because of how the dropdown is not visible without me scrolling down on the Payment
page (and why would I even scroll down on that page?).

Why not streamline it like on Amazon? Make it automatic, but visible in the
checkout calculation on the right-hand side so that if you *don't* want to
use the coupon for whatever reason, it will be obvious that one is being applied.

I know there are global search settings, but they're only a few. I'm
in Germany and usually want to find parts from sellers in Germany, because of
shipping time and shipping costs.
So, by now, I have to activate "Ships from: Germany" every time I do a search.
Every time!

That is so annoying. My suggestion is: either make this a global search setting
or store my last settings in a cookie so that I don't have to select this
every time.
Thank you!

One of things I like to do from time to time is to assign those decorated parts
that have been added to the catalog but not added as counterparts to their appropriate
set.
For example:

Part No: 6178pb037 Name: Tile, Modified 6 x 12 with Studs on Edges with Star Wars Logo and 'R2-D2' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 75308
*
6178pb037 Tile, Modified 6 x 12 with Studs on Edges with Star Wars Logo and 'R2-D2' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 75308
Parts: Tile, Modified, Decorated {Black}
It was added Dec 8,2021 but it is currently not listed in 75308's inventory.
So an Inventory Change request would need to be made to list it as a counterpart
(I have since submitted the request). Now this is the easiest example as that
is the ONLY stickered piece in the set. Some sets have dozens that need to be
added. I have submitted requests for such sets only to find out someone else
had beaten me to it. Incredibly frustrating as the time I used, which can be
significant, turned out to be wasted. And you don't find out until the very
last step - at submission. And it doesn't flag all the pieces - only the
first one it finds in the list that had been already submitted. So you can have
20+ parts and it turns out only 1 or 2 haven't been submitted. Good luck
finding out which ones quickly.

What I would suggest is something similar to when someone has reserved a set
to inventory. You immediately know if a set has been reserved as it states on
its catalog page under 'Item Consists Of', 'Inventory in Progress'
or something similar. So is there a way to tag or reserve those parts that have
been submitted waiting for approval to their appropriate sets so that when you
go to its catalog page you can see a message like 'Pending Approval'
under 'Item Appears In'?

I know adding stickered counterparts is way down on the list for catalog priorities
so adding such a feature could save lots of duplicate work/time from submitters.
Especially since there is an apparent backlog of stickered counterparts waiting
to be approved.

Of course, if such a thing already exists, could someone point it out to me?

I'm sorry to say that the user experience on Bricklink is terrible. I'd
thought that the acquisition by The Lego Group would bring investment to improve
usability, but nothing has happened. It's immensely disappointing.

1. The search function seems to be geared around buying pieces, not simply searching
the database. Why does it bring up items for sale by default? Why does it order
search results in such a strange way by default?
2. Features for managing parts lists are poor. There's no ability to merge
lists that have parts in common (BL just complains that the parts already exist).
Indeed, it's not even possible to use the 'upload' function to upload
an xml file that has previously been downloaded from Bricklink. Despite that,
it is possible to use an xml file to create a new wanted list. This is obviously
completely unintuitive.
3. It's still not possible to order Bricks and Pieces from Bricklink. This
is such an obvious thing to do that it shouldn't need to be said.
4. Orders seem to be deleted from the order list after only a few months. Why
is this necessary?
5. It is not possible to automatically mark pieces as bought when they have been
ordered.

Please please separate buyer and seller addresses on a hybrid account.

Keep one main address set fixed on the account, but let sellers have the option
to use separate shipping addresses that do not have an impact on your store status.

I find it ridiculous that my store gets closed if I want to have something shipped
to another country.

Amazon, eBay, etc all have the option to change a shipping address.

Please implement this!

Hello. This is my first post. Be patient with me.

I would like to be able to mark a set as in my inventory. I would like to mark
individual bricks as in my inventory. I would like to go to a random set and
then this site lets me know if I have enough pieces in my inventory to build
that set.

(this is implemented on Peeron but not here, from what I can see)

Thank you.

Hi all,

Is it possible to add a sort option on seller in the Items For Sale tab on the
parts page?
At this point of time each color is seperately shown as intended.

As I am often looking for more colors of the same part it is convenient if I
can sort on seller. So I can easily see if a certain seller has more than one
color available.

Regards,
Dennis

I was rather disappointed when on a recent order I received a number of broken,
heavily damaged, and heavily discoloured parts, and was even more surprised when
the order showed that those parts were listed as such. Somehow I had purchased
a number of parts that I am quite literally going to throw straight in the bin.
I suspect I am not the first person this has happened to, and that I won't
be the last.

As far as I can tell, this happened because there is no visibility of the part
notes when shopping a wanted list. In my case, I shopped my wanted list with
~300 parts, and used the auto-select option. The store selection - both in the
confirm and edit views - doesn't show the part notes. To make matters worse,
the auto-select option will favour damaged parts because they are cheaper.

I then created the carts. When viewing the carts, notes are visible, but this
stage is too late to find out about bad parts, because rejecting them here means
having to re-select these from elsewhere. In other words, going back to store
selection, and potentially having to exclude stores or set a desired "new" condition
on those parts. It becomes a very manual process, and I probably don't want
new parts as they will stand out in a second hand set. Note also that the notes
are not highlighted in the cart view - the dimmer grey colour means its easy
to gloss over those.

It would be great if part notes where shown in the "confirm selection" and "edit
selection" modals when shopping a wanted list.

While we're at it, it would be great if there was a "damaged" part state,
to go with "new" and "used", as I definitely do not want damaged parts. Or perhaps
a grading?

I woud like to see the last known sellingprice for an item, no matter how long
ago it sold.
Now we can only see the sales from last 6 months and the items for sale.

But sometimes an item is no longer for sale and it has been more than 6 months
since a sale, I would still like to know what it was sold for.
Why? For my insurrance policy...

Is it an good idea to change it to what I suggest? How do I make it happen??

As you clean up the sight, things get renamed or re-categorized on the site,
but I'm not notified and can move the parts in my physical inventory boxes
accordingly.

"Wait, that part was Minifigures, Weapon, Spacegun. Now it's in Minifigures,
weapon, gun. And now I have to refund the customer because I can't find
it. Or what is currently a 1x1 Technic, Liftarm used to be in Technic and Technic,
Connectors."

Please, when you move something, tell us. Make a list.

Thanks,
Joshua

Would you write a Cookie or Setting that remembers the preference?

At least the drive thru one. I use the drive thru after my order is delivered,
so "...has been shipped" does not jive with "...has been delivered"

I would like all of the message template subject lines to be editable for other
reasons.

The only related suggestion I could find with our fine search tools was:

If there are more or even discussions around this, please feel free to link them

The current BrickLink feedback system with all stores having unrealistically
high (80%) praise-ratings is inadequate from a buyers' perspective. When
evaluating stores, a buyer looks at 1) terms and conditions, 2) seller location,
3) store age, 4) number of completed transactions, 5) likelyhood to deliver all
parts, 6) quality of packaging, and 7) speed of service. The praise-percentage
rating as currently used cannot distinguish the stores delivering excellent service
from the mundane. There is no way to praise a store for good packaging, broad
sortiment, identification of different molds, fast delivery, or exceptional service.
There is also no way to express dissatisfaction in sortiment, slow service, missing
parts, poor packaging, unexpected condition/color of parts, unclear terms&conditions,
unexpected/hidden costs, or surprising shipment costs.

Non-paying buyers and non-shipping sellers have their own dedicated functions,
so these issues must not be part of the feedback system. The neutral feedback
response must assume that the buyer pays the invoice and the seller delivers
the merchandise. Any deviations (positive or negative) from this default expectation
can be considered measures of quality.

The new order feedback system is proposed to have 5 potential responses; Excellent
(Outstanding), Pleased (Good), Adequate (Neutral), Disappointed (Discontent),
and Apalled (Horrible). No feedback should imply an incomplete transaction.

Feedback older than 12 months must not affect the rating. Every Excellent order
rating must exactly counter an Apalled order rating. Every Pleased order rating
must exactly counter a Disappointed order rating. Excellent must improve rating
more than Pleased. Disappointed must reduce order rating more than Adequate.
A new store must not have an untruthful rating. A "perfect" rating should not
be achievable in practise.

Applying the standard solution (from polls and surveys) to this context, results
in the formula:

store rating = 100 * (2*E + P - D - 2*A) / (8 + 2*E + P + N + D + 2*A),

where E = number of orders marked Excellent, P = number of orders marked Pleased,
N = number of orders marked Adequate, D = number of orders marked Disappointed,
and A = number of orders marked Apalled.

The potential rating ranges from -100 to 100 with both extremes extremely difficult
to achieve. A new store starts with rating = 0 indicating that it is neither
good nor bad. If a store has constant ratio 1 of positives to negatives, then
the rating will increase slightly over time. A large number of neutrals will
push the rating back toward zero.

This proposed system would eliminate the misunderstandings regarding "praise"
in the present system, allow honest feedback, and relieve all sellers from fearing
neutral feedback or retaliation. Additional benefits include a rating able to
separate the great from the ordinary and a more accurate indicator of quality.

Following MANY discussions about this subject, and approving:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1327974
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1328054
(and others)

And guessing this has probably already been proposed, but anyway...

I propose a 0 + 5 Stars rating system.

In essence:
- 0 would correspond to "Zero service (or the current Negative)"
- 1 would mean "I received the minimal service"
- 2 to 4 stars would be something like "it's ok"
- 5 could be "exceptional".

Details:

* a transaction could be "feedbacked" either 0 (very bad) or more usually from
1 (minimum) to 5 stars (maximum)

* while selecting the feedback:
- selecting 0 (or not selecting anything) would be shown in Red
- selecting 1 would be shown in Gray
- selecting 2 to 4 would be shown in Green
- selecting 5 would be shown in Yellow/Gold

* in the feedback score
- no rating would count for NOTHING
- a rating of zero would count (as a Negative)

I think it would be FAR better than the current system:
* frankly unhappy
* frankly happy
* neutral (but which decreases the seller's score!)
* abstention

The previous feedbacks would be converted with this simple rule:
* Negative : 0
* Positive : 5
* Neutral : 3

Then a simple calculation can be made to determine the global feedback of the
member.

On 120 orders, 100 only received a (any) feedback:
- 100 x 5 stars = 500 / 500 = 100%
- 100 x 3 stars = 300 / 500 = 60%
- 100 x 1 stars = 100 / 500 = 20%
- 100 x 0 stars = 0 / 500 = 0%

Of course, at the beginning, we won't see many changes, as Positive receive
5 stars and Negative 0.

But the difference in between the current "95/98%" will start while receiving
new stars feedbacks.

Some will get more 1 or 2, others will receive more 4 or 5.

We'll see some member having 40/60% and some others 80/90%.

Hoping that helps.

I think it would behoove the online marketplaces to add labeling for PC versus
MABS Transparent LEGO elements. This would help builders and set restorers match
the color of the plastic since it is becoming apparent that the new MABS formula
is affecting the coloration significantly and consistently.

Just putting it out there, it would be a good idea to initiate this sooner than
later, as the color differences between the old Trans-Clear and new Trans-Clear
elements are quite stark. Should labeling options get into place early, it could
save a lot of work later on down the line as it becomes a growing discrepancy.

Play Well!

Hi Bricklink team!

For me this site is not only the ultimate LEGO database, but also the best trading
platform you could imagine.
The ONLY thing I am missing very much is a kind of inventory function for also
non sellers.

I would love to see a possibility to mark sets I own in the sense of a collection
I can easily see, access and share.

Maybe this was already requested many times and the solution is simply to register
as a seller, use the inventory and not sell the sets in stock somehow?!

If not, I'm very new here and without having contributed much to the community
yet, it is of course not my place to request new features.. so please take it
simply as an inspiration to make this wonderful website even greater.

Hi there,

I recognized during a wanted list order that there is no possibility now to upload
all the items that I have, so when I order through a wanted list the items that
I already have would be withdrawn from the order. Usually axels, 1x1 tiles, that
remains as an additional piece from big LEGO sets build up and it would be a
nice feature to reduce the unused items through having an own inventory. It is
quite impossible to do it manually when you have 2-3 hundred lots to crosscheck
those.

From programming standpoint it wouldn't mean too much modification as a simple
match should be run between a wanted list and the own inventory DB.

If I missed something and this feature is already available, just let me know

Cheers,
Levi

Hi

When paying for an order by clicking the "Continue to Paypal" button, the API
only provides a processing icon in the left corner of the browser tab. The suggestion
is to have a processing bar or change the mouse icon so that this step is more
visible. It is easy to think that the button click isn't working properly
causing your customers to click on the button multiple times, potentially causing
more than one payment or the payment process erroring out and forcing process
to be repeated.

With all the recent talk about when to leave feedback and concerns of retaliation
feedback for leaving honest feedback the best way I see to remedy that would
be to have a system where the buyer or seller can leave feedback at any time
but it won’t actually display the feedback for anyone to see until either:-

Both parties have left feedback for each other whereby the feedback is then revealed
at the same time!

Or if only one party leaves feedback the timescale for leaving feedback will
eventually expire revealing what has been left with no further opportunity for
retaliation!

At least that way both buyers and sellers can be confident of being able to share
their honest experience without the fear of jeopardising their own account for
doing so!

I just placed a big order of almost 500 pieces. After receiving it, I wish there
was a way to remove the pieces I now have from the wanted list. It seems really
time-consuming to go through and remove each item individually. Especially since
I have so many other pieces on the list.

Would be useful to have the phone number on the user profile and orders.

Couriers often use it to check if people is home or whether they can leave the
package to a neighbour.

Given we don't even have the tracking number, I basically have no way of
knowing whether the package was delivered to a neighbour or is still in transit.

Hi
Not sure if this is the right place, but I was recently buying a set off eBay,
the listing noted it was incomplete so I parted out on here into a new wanted
list and was trying to gauge from photos how complete the set was. I asked the
seller for the total weight to try and gauge from that, but the weight on the
set's page in the catalogue appears to be total weight including box and
instructions.

Would it not be useful to somehow get a total weight for a wanted list. This
will help in the situation above, to try an estimate quickly completeness of
a set, but also help buyers ascertain some kind of gauge on shipping costs before
attempting to buy?

Is there any way to implement the notify option on wanted lists so that one receives
an alert whenever a new item is listed? And I mean without the seller having
to enable the option themselves; make automated email alerts for parts on wanted
lists checked as notify the default behavior from here on out.

Brickowl sends emails for wishlist items without any issues, why can't we
have the same functionality here? I've missed out on a few super rare items
over the last couple of months because it seems no one selling actually enables
their listing to notify users, and it is quite aggravating. I am not able to
check this website every day for things nor do I expect others to spend their
time like that. I don't think such a function would be a hard thing to do
quite honestly.

And now that Lego owns BL, if they can do it for their website, it's about
time we have it as well.

I'm sure many others would feel the same way. Thanks for reading.

The catalogList.asp shows ID, name, and year for the items. Would it be possible
to add at least an option to also show weights and dimensions? An icon array
of existing colors for each item would be awesome!

The catalogDownload.asp page contains checkboxes for downloading year, weight,
and dimensions. However, it downloads stud dimensions rather than the packing
dimensions. Would it be possible to download the packing dimensions instead of
the stud dimensions or include both as separate checkboxes?

Up until now, pretty much all the freight forwarders have operated in states
that have no sales tax. This has allowed them to operate outside of the normal
rules. That is changing.

Last November, the Florida legislature enacted a new statute ( Section 212.06(5)(b)
) allowing freight forwarders, operating as a business within Florida, and with
the explicit requirement that the items being forwarded be leaving the USA, to
register with the State of Florida Department of Revenue ( using an Application
for a Florida Certificate of Forwarding Agent Address (Form DR-1FA) ). Florida
is legitimizing the business, and basically neutralizing the zero tax states
advantage.

This impacts BrickLink in two ways: first, BL's tax calculation system (or
service provider) will need to track these addresses, and second anyone with
a shipment to one of these addresses in Florida should (if properly implemented)
see a zero sales tax rate.

I am requesting that those (known and registered) addresses of freight forwarders
(regardless of state) be tagged and signaled so that seller's can choose
if they wish to ship to them or not.

Note that part of this issue (the sales tax rate being other than what is expected
for the state in question) also applies to some Native American reservations
(as I mentioned in another thread earlier today).

With Florida's aggressive move, I expect other states (and primarily those
with significant air freight connections) to implement similar statutes.

Hi

Can I request that you include a checkbox on the order sheets please.
When I receive an order I always check it off and it would be very helpful if
I can just tick a box for my records as I go along as when its delivered, it
doesnt come out in the same order as the list.
It only needs to be for the use of the recipient, but it would be a very useful
tool.
Thanks

Sometimes I find it is the case that I'm constructing a wanted list with
assorted parts and while not too particular about the color, it is nonetheless
important that some different parts be the same color, whatever it is.

So to facilitate that, I would suggest that one have the ability to specify a
color scheme for any wanted list. For example, say that I intend to build a
three color model, but I am not too particular about the colors. The only thing
I might care about, for instance, is that some subset of the parts be specifically
either all black, all white, or all grey, although I may not be particular about
which.

A color scheme for the wanted list would then look something like this:
A: unspecified
B: black, white, grey
C: unspecified

When specifying the desired color of the part in a wanted list, instead of selecting
a standard color (or "unspecified"), I could alternatively select from one of
the color schemes defined for that wanted list (A-C, in this case). In any
case, each color scheme letter would be a unique color, and all parts that utilize
the same scheme letter would be the exact same color. So if white parts were
found for parts using B, for example, then no parts using A or C will be white.
If one is truly indifferent about the color of the part, then one could still
use the existing "unspecified" mechanism. The important thing here is that during
autopick, all parts referring to the same scheme letter would always have the
exact same color.

The existing workaround to this is to create separate wanted lists that are otherwise
identical except for color, each wanted list looking for the same items, but
with a different set of colors. It is quite tedious for wanted lists with many
different parts, however, and I believe something like the above would simplify
that.

Exclamation mark on the order detail and in the part out details would be very
handy if a part had a known variant. We do our best to match the specific mold
customer ordered but sometimes incorrect variant ends up in the storage bin of
another variant due to errors in the catalog or with sorting error. If you catch
your error at the inventory level it's still not problematic but once someone
orders a variant more than you have it's almost always more involving with
exchanging messages with customer.

Such exclamation mark on the part out details would increase the chances that
someone submit an alternative part catalog change request. (I don't think
it would be done on the legacy system but that addition of alternative part may
be simplified by just asking the user which part was included in the set instead
of what was shown in the catalog)

In the order detail page it would serve the seller to be extra cautious about
the variant, at least there would be higher chance that the situation is assessed
before the order is in the hands of the customer.

I could be wrong but it looks like the promo minifigure from Rome with colesseum

To clarify not the chariot with figure, the other similar gladiator figure.

long list. Typing in 45410 in the search bar gave 0 results. Typing in 79120
gave me the parts I was looking for. It also does not work by dimensions, and
color gives you every mention of the color, not the color of the brick.

If you do not know the original set, this is almost useless. Can you please enhance
the search so that the color of the brick and the dimensions are selectabletime?
This would save HOURS of time!

Also, putting a reference on the original part number page to show the decorated
variances would be tremendously helpful, both to buyers and sellers.

It would be great if the order was fully updated after a refund.

In my case, I have three different types of bubble envelopes under one shipping
method, but in order to not undercharge shipping cost, I needed to add the weight
of the heaviest envelope. For small orders, this means often actual shipping
cost are less than the customer paid, so I refund the difference.

The order however is not updated, so the numbers are not reflecting the final
grand total.

When refunding because of overcharged shipping, the option needs to be selected,
meaning the Shipping cost field could be updated automatically, which could update
the grand total and VAT as well (if applicable).

For other types of refunds, the same logic applies and the cost of hidden and
the grand total could be updated.

I've been part of the LEGO buying, selling and collecting community for a
year or more. and I see the same questions over and over on Lego facebook
pages etc. People trying to identify Lego pieces or sets. The general answer
people are given is to try google lens. I use google lens myself but it is frustrating
not being able to filter the results by the term "Lego" sometimes results are
totally inaccurate for this reason. I know its a bold statement but in all my
observation I think i can speak for the entire Lego community when I say we would
love a bricklink app that combines a google lens type function for Lego and the
ability to head straight to bricklink without a browser. I have so many tabs
open in my browser for bricklink. i need to go their so often throughout the
day and now as I've just upgraded to seller i would love to get notified
if i made a sale or received an order. any chance something like this is already
in the works? if not can we start a petition to Lego or something like that?

Would it be possible when you have it auto shop a wanted list to add preferred
payment methods to the filter? As a shopper who doesn't own nor want to make
a PayPal account, when it automatically selects sellers who only accept PayPal
it gets annoying. Sincerely, Bricklink user.

When a seller refunds an order fully (when it has been paid by PayPal onsite),
allow the seller to cancel it no matter what status the buyer has set for the
order. BL knows the refund has gone through, so it is ridiculous sellers have
to ask buyers to remove received/completed status once they have their refund.
Or allow a seller to cancel it no matter what the status is set at after a full
refund is given.

It can be fairly obvious to get all the Spider-Man figures in a search, but a
couple notes. We would also tie Peter Parker figures to the Spider-Man figures
and Bruce Wayne figures to Batman figures and perhaps Rex and Emmet.

But there is also an increasing trend of things like this:

Minifig No: hol267 Name: Man, Orange Tracksuit, Black Hair
*
hol267 (Inv) Man, Orange Tracksuit, Black Hair
Minifigures: Holiday & Event: Chinese New Year
and

Minifig No: hol266 Name: Woman, Orange Tracksuit, Long Black Hair
*
hol266 (Inv) Woman, Orange Tracksuit, Long Black Hair
Minifigures: Holiday & Event: Chinese New Year
are a couple that come to Chinese New Years events
dressed alike. You can find them last year as

Minifig No: hol229 Name: Woman, Dark Red '2021' Shirt, Sand Blue Legs, Long Black Hair
*
hol229 (Inv) Woman, Dark Red '2021' Shirt, Sand Blue Legs, Long Black Hair
Minifigures: Holiday & Event: Chinese New Year
and

Minifig No: hol228 Name: Man, Dark Red '2021' Shirt, Blue Legs, Black Hair

Hello,

I usually color my comments because they are pointing to another small mold difference
or vintage of the same part that Bricklink does not differenciate.

The problem is that when I am preparing the order and reviewing the order screen,
the comment is not colored, and I happen to miss the mold difference

Is there a way to make it show comment colors?

Not sure if this has ever been proposed... but what if we listed Instructions
that have more than one book with the ability to part them out...

I have a bunch of used instruction books that are missing 1 or more of the books
in the set. I hate to list them and then note that "THIS IS ONLY FOR BOOK 2".
It messes with the pricing.

It would be like parting out a minifigure...

Let me know what you all think. Thanks!

I don't know when it started or why but I keep receiving new Lego parts that
smell strongly of perfume or scented detergent. Why? I have to air them out
for several days before I can use them. I cannot reuse any of the plastic bags
or envelopes so they are thrown out without repurposing them. If you are a seller
who keeps your Legos in areas where they can pick up offensive odors, or worse
wash them in scented soap, please list it in your terms. As soon as someone says
they wash the Legos, I look elsewhere. So give the buyers a heads up.

Hello There,

I'm sure this has been suggested.

1: But when doing a part out, why do we have to select NEW or USED each time.
Can I suggested you just need to enter the set one know. From there the part
out screen lists both on the same screen.

2: When in Catalog view. There is enough white space to include the part out
value when also searching for sets.

This would save so many unnecessary searches.

Please and thanks.

Hi

I dont know if this has been looked at or if it is possible to set up on here.
But has anyone looked at pay pal qr code payment as a method as I just noticed
the fees are a hell lot better than mirco and normal pay pal fees. This is only
available to bussiness accounts as far as I am aware of.

For down under (Australia)

Normal Transactions 2.60% + fixed fee ($0.30 cents)
QR Code Transactions – 10.01 AUD and above 0.90% + fixed fee ($0.10)
QR code Transactions – 10.00 AUD and below 1.40% + fixed fee ($0.10)
Mirco payments 5.00% + micropayments fixed fee ($0.05)

As you can see from the above the fees are way cheaper than both mirco and standard
transactions just food for thought.

Current issues: The "Buy All" wizard is not always optimal, so when I am looking
to add parts or minifigures, I want to use the same vendors, especially since
it's ordered by price. I have to have several tabs open to see with what
vendors I have open baskets in my cart and then browse through their oftentimes
massive stores to see if they have other items on my wishlist.

Suggestion: In a view in which vendors are compared (e.g., if I click on a set,
part or minifigure), add 2 icons for whether the vendor is in my basket already
and how many parts/minifigures this vendor is selling that are in my basket.

Hi,

It would be great the have the ability to set shipment options. In Switzerland,
Swiss Post can deliver parcels on Saturday. This implies an additional fee that
a buyer should choose at checkout.

For now, the only way to do this is to define a new dedicated shipment method
with the fee incorporated to the shipment prices. The buyer would have a new
option, beside the other methods, only to receive its parcel on saturday.

In my vision, a seller will set an option with a description and additional fees.
The buyer will have a checkbox to enable the option.

Thanks in advance for your read and I wish you a happy new year.

Regards,

Jey

Hi,

It would be great to be able to set the display order of the shipping methods.
When adding a new method, it always go at the end of the list. For example, I
want the new method to be in the third position of the list, to group the methods
and to ensure the groups are set correctly.

Thanks in advance for your read and I wish you a happy new year.

A feature that would save me a lot of key strokes, and cause me to actual compare
my wanted list to more of the sale postings, would be a one stroke way to get
from the sale posting to a comparison to my wanted list.

I really dislike the way the featured page, for each store, interrupts my page
navigation. If I am looking for a specific part. I have to go through the featured
page each time I use the back arrow to get back to the page that shows the search
results.

Although the options on the Orders Received page are unlimited automatic widening
based on the options picked, the Order Details Page and the Inventory Summary
page are fixed. Please see the attached photos.

On the Order Details page, the text of the item description wraps to create many
lines and causes printing of the page to run up the number of pages needed to
print. I have tried several settings in my browser to get the frame to widen,
but have been unsuccessful when it comes to the lengthy descriptions like those
shown in my photo.

Related to this: When the "Refund" change was made to this page and caused many
users to have a problem printing this page, I too had problems. When it was
"fixed", it didn't get fixed for me. I reached out to others for a solution,
but I couldn't find something that helped.

On the Inventory Details page, the text also wraps causing Category names to
become difficult to read and lengthening the page.

I am using the Chrome browser on a Win 10 laptop with 16:9 aspect ratio.

This is driving me nuts.

Please consider making these small changes.

To other users: Please comment and support if you are also having the same problem.

Thank You
Donna

Please allow buyers (or sellers) to un-cancel quotes. If parts become unavailable,
the quote could be automatically adjusted with a note.
This way a buyer would not have to start over from scratch.

Thank you for considering this.

The matrix to convert any USPS origination/destination Zip-code pair to a zone
number is 2 MB in size. That's it, for the entire country, plus a very small
exceptions file. This should be easy to implement, and requires no API calls
to make it work.

It would be very useful as a buyer to add personal comment next to a lot or part
in the cart (it should only be visible to the buyer).

Currently it is possible to add comments only to the whole order after it has
been made but something in higher resolution can be helpful.

Personally, I add pieces to an open order and keep it there for a while until
placing the actual order. Later, when I'm about to finalize the order I don't
always remember what I needed each lot for...

over the last several years, my wife would ask me something like "what do you
want?" my response more than often would be, "let me show you my wanted list..."
which would end up getting to be too complicated to answer the question

recently i found that my nephews are really into LEGO as i was/am

what i would like to give them is a bricklink gift card that would be valid over
all the stores, not just the individual store offering it. the reason for this
over a LEGO gift card is that there would be a part, minifig, set ect that is
discontinued but still available in bricklink (do you know how many unitron,
clasic castle of blacktron 1 minifigs i gave away? thats not counting the projectile
parts)

it could work just like amazon giftcards being assigned to an email and login
to recieve

i would like to give the gift that keeps on building

hi guys

just a suggestion as a newer member I have been trying to get seller verified.
And has done all the steps well over a month ago. When I went looking for how
to get help it did not jump out where to find it on the site. there a message
box on the verified page that appeared no one look at as there been an un answered
question there for 3 weeks. Even thrown up a couple posts in the forum in the
help section.

On reading the help section and others posting re the same issue and being told
to post to the help area. I thought 1st this is insane that we been pointed
to a public forum that no one from the site is responding to from the site.

On further looking around the site I came across the HELP DESK hidden in the
help centre which took a few clicks to get too. From what I can see there is
NO clear and easy way to get to the HELP DESK to rise an issue ticket etc.

So my suggestion is to ADD a short cut to the TICKET HELP DESK up at the top
of the page with other short cuts with the icons...

Hardly a priority development item but it would be great to get the maximum length
of the "Slogan" and "Announcement" fields in Store Settings increased from the
meagre 50 & 80 characters to something a bit more useful like 200 characters.

About 15 years ago, I was really into Bionicle sets, especially 2005-2009 era.
In my dumb, childhood wisdom, I took all of my bionicle sets, mixed them into
a single bin, and determined to build them all again from this huge bin. This
was an impossible goal, so now I have a large bin of 20some scattered bionicle
sets. However, I kept the containers so I know which sets are in this mix and
I know roughly all of the sets are contained within this box. What's the
feasibility of selling this and how much do you think it could go for?

There are specific non-currency and non-quantity user representations that exist
on a lot.

MY_WEIGHT is supported by both the XML upload/download files, and by the API
User Inventory / Resource Representation.

Unfortunately, PACKAGING_TYPE (Weight bound, Volume bound, Manual or null), DIM_X,
DIM_Y and DIM_Z are not currently supported in either the XML or API mechanisms.

You can only enter them via the web screen, and there is no way to back them
up.

Please support these fields, on both XML (which I need) and API (which others
may need).

I'm putting this under suggestions, but it comes close to being a Technical
Issue. Admins feel free to move this to T/I if you feel like it is one.

It would be massively awesome if BrickLink could implement a shipping test tool
for sellers, that would function as follows ...

Seller would build a list of test cases using pseudo destinations (minimum country
and postal code, possibly address as well)

Each destination would have a list of items the seller has on offer (or alternately
N-random items of a given type, like 6 parts and/or 3 sets).

The reflector would run on demand, in batch (like Notifications are run), then
email a report back to the seller telling them if shipping could be calculated
for each test case, and which methods were applicable and costs calculated.

thank you, Nita Rae

Hello,

I really believe that an useful function would be having lots locations.

Explanation:
I use the "remarks" field to remind me where the items are, but I have always
felt that a little forced. The remarks should tell me other things, not where
the item is actually stored.

If we had a "location" field we would be able to split "remarks" and "Location"
so that one could do a research for all the items one has in location XX to verify
their inventory, and most important, when one uploads a new batch of that one
lot, they could merge also the location but not the remarks if they want to.

I believe that this would be really useful.

We have been piecing together Friends sets from a bulk purchase and came to the
conclusion it would be great to have some sort of tag in set inventories that
can be shown when a complete set of stickered counterparts have been added to
a set inventory.

Currently:
- You have to cross reference the stickered parts in the inventory with the sticker
sheet to establish if you have all the correct parts.

Once this suggestion is implemented:
- You would see that the set you are compiling parts for has something stating
'all the stickered counterparts needed for this set are included in the set
inventory'.

Then you simply head to that section of the inventory first and once you find
them all you know you have a complete set of stickered parts before you start
looking for all the plain parts.

Curious if anyone thinks this would be a good idea? If so then you are welcome
to add any other thoughts or functionally for the site to consider.

Paul.

I have sinned, I have taken punished, I have taken note.
It's okay so far.
But why without warning?
Why can't the sanction have steps?
For a user who has never been penalized, why can't the penalty last until
the error is corrected?
The first time without warning, a 1 month penalty is not fair in my opinion.

It should also be noted that I do not have a negative rating and I do not owe
Bricklink any money.
A mitigating circumstance may be that there are no negative reviews and I do
not owe money, and ratings given by customers could also be taken into account.

Please create a Help Center page that enumerates the reasons (as displayed on
the store front) for suspension, and helps sellers to determine what needs to
be addressed.

Some reasons are rather obvious, but others appear to be a generic suspension
(without any specificity). Please help to pull back the curtain so that sellers
can see what the problem is. It may be that the reason needs to be made more
explicit on the seller's dashboard.

Hi there,

Recently there was a change in pricing methodology change from the service we
got from our national post service. With this price change countries can't
be grouped together since prices vary without adhering to a certain logic but
instead possibly some marketing analytic s worked by the postal service...

such as this,

................Germany.........Austria
0-100 gr........6.21............5.41
100-250 gr......6.96............7.33
250-500 gr......8.18............10.56
500-1000 gr.....10.66...........16.91
1000-2000 gr....15.58...........29.69

So in order to have a proper checkout I grouped some countries and priced with
a bit of margin and priced those countries which I have a sales history individually...

Now comes the bitter part, in this pandemic, every now and then shipping to a
certain country gets closed. For me, today it's Germany & Australia...

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a checkbox in each column of the shipping
rate chart so we can exclude that zone/country on and off?

I've disabled instant checkout for international orders at the moment. In
the current setup I would delete the country that shipping is not possible and
later on when shipping possible re-enter the same prices for relevant weight
ranges... Double work...

Best regards,

Nejat

As a customer, I would appreciate a new sorting option in every store's part
view called "by rarity". Based on the number of each item's availability
worldwide (e.g. by adding up all the items available worldwide of the respective
element in comparison to the average availability of all items), there could
be an indicator of how rare each item is that you are looking at.

Since my collection of parts has grown over the years, this option would help
me rummaging the shops for rare items or items that I likely do not yet own.
On the other hand, items with low rarity indication would tell me that I likely
own them already.
This could also help sellers to identify the rarity of each item they add to
their shop. There may already be ways to figure that out - not sure as I am not
a seller.

What do you think?

I think it would be incredibly beneficial to Bricklink store owners if they would
add a place to type in a promo code at check out. This would provide data to
store owners on which type of advertising is the most effective. Is there an
official page where I can make such a request?

Hello
Can you add some kind of automatic notification when some product is on sale?!
That contact you to your mail.
My case, I want to buy box for one set that I have, but at the moment there's
no offer of any kind, but there was and I didn't buy it. Now I'm waiting
for another offer(s). But do not always watch what's on.
Thank you.

I think it would be good to have a setting in the forum for sales notifications
to avoid seeing notifications of sales from stores that don't ship to you.

Especially as some of those sellers provide valuable non sales posts and therefore
don't want to block them and not see any of their posts

I am always amazed at the large number of minifigures Lego has or had released.
There is Penny from The Big Bang Theory (wish I knew her last name),Nesquick
Bunny, lots and lots of Star Wars, and so many more. But there is holes that
they have complete missed. The ones I would buy are: any Barbie figures, Mr
Clean, Betty Page, Randle McMurphy, Norman Bates, Inspector Clouseau, HAL, V,
any Star Trek, ET, Sarah Connor, Terminator T-800, Katniss Everdeen, Keyser Söze,
Ferris Bueller, The Man With No Name, Forrest Gump, Ron Burgundy, Ellen Ripley,
James Bond, Ariel, Ghostface, and others. Lego should really consider these.

When accessing the colour guide [https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp]
and clicking on parts for a certain colour [this one is for coral {https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&colorPart=220}],
shouldn't the images at least be the right colour? Currently (at the previous

coral coloured image.

Thoughts?

I find the statistics here to be very helpful. I feel a way to improve the feature
dramatically would be to add a drop-down menu to select part catagory and color.
So you could select lime and see the top 100 sold lime parts, select plate, modified
and see the most sold plate, modified parts, or select both plate, modified as
well as lime and see the most sold lime plate, modified parts.

Hello,

I just had a seller messaging me about why for over a week I didn't approve
their quantity change as a bunch of pieces were missing.

- I had visited my profile every day but had no notification of some sort showing
me that a request for me to take action was pending, I red dot next to a link
to that quantity change approval page in the column orders would have been enough
for me to notice something was waiting for me to do something
- I had no message from seller, which is not a technical issue but in my opinion
a mistake from the seller
- I had no alert of some kind on the order page itself, there was no red box
on top of the page with a blinking arrow next to it, telling you to click somewhere
if you wanted to go to another change quantity request page
- The status of the order had not changed, it was just saying "pending", the
same status it has after you place an order with request for invoice, I was expecting
it would have a status of some sort, like "awating buyer quantity change approval"

I however had a mail from bricklink bot (in my spam obviously) telling me about
this pending piece change approval

So then I went to the page to approve the change, but there I had a weird table
not clearly stating what the quantity was that I had ordered and what the actual
quantity change request was, it showed one number but I still don't really
know if this was how much pieces I would get or how much pieces were actually
missing, so I just blindly accepted everything and guess I will need to wait
for the order to arrive to know for sure what I will get

Don't get me wrong, I love bricklink, I mean I placed +-200 successfull orders
the last 4-5 years (and got only scammed once where I paid 200 euro by IBAN and
never got anything), so it is not that I write you all this because I'm raging
behind my desk and swearing at the bricklink admins or product managers
I'm a developer myself and I know how much work it is to build something
like bricklink, so I understand why things are how they are, but still I thought
it was worth mentioning those things that in my oponion can be improved, just
in case they are not already on a todo list

To avoid issues such as what we mentioned yesterday why not get Bricklink to
add to the stores terms page a variant policy statement from the store. I am
sure we will see everything from no policy to a complete novel, but at least
it is something that can be looked at by potential buyers and it may even add
clarity to the current situation.

We very strongly believe this is a stores responsibility and not the buyers.
A buyer should have confidence in the fact they are getting what they ordered.
or a notice from the store to alert them they aren't.

Of course mistake can and will happen but if a policy statement is at least on
the mind of the store maybe it will help them to focus

I do agree that buyers, if concerned could ask for details but of 6 stores who
were asked none replied is not a good result.

My suggestion is to add a checkbox to the Store Filters where you can select
stores that are VAT enabled.

Reason being that if you buy as a business you can reclaim the VAT, which obviously
doesn't fly for purchases from private sellers.

So essentially this would allow businesses to find other businesses more easily,
save on their cost price, and increase their liquidity. Finally, this results
in more investment, more Bricklink transactions and potentially lower sale prices
to their customers, because they don't have to compensate the 21% difference
(in case of Dutch VAT) in purchase cost.

I could go into more detail with example calculations of course, if required.

After updating the Wanted quantity of a part through the wanted list modal on
a set inventory for example, I had the negative surprise of finding out the Have
quantity had been reset to 0.

Reproduction steps:
- Add a part to a wanted list, set the Have quantity to 1.
- On an inventory featuring the same part in the same color, click on the Add
to Wanted list heart-shaped link.
- In the modal, select the wanted list, the existing Wanted quantity shows.
- Change the Wanted quantity, click on the Update button.
- Go back to Wanted List.
- The Have quantity for this part is now 0.

I created a default list of approximately 800 items. The auto select returned
7 stores. I placed orders in the first 6, the 7th would not let me as the seller
had a limit of 3 lots per sale. My order with him was comprised 139 lots. He
has not responded to messages asking for a bypass password, an option he offers.

It would be nice if the auto select could either allow you to exclude particular
sellers, those with lot limits and/or provide some warning up front that a limit
exists prior to placing orders.

I have had to recreate the subset of items in another default list to only now
have another 5 carts created, one of which is the offending store.

I am unable to complete my in a logical manner. Were I able to manually do so,
it will be at significantly increased price do to the added shipping/handling.
I had 4 or 5 projects I was trying to complete. None of them can occur now.

Please add a metric, that would track per buyer (and seller), the success/failure
rate, of orders being delivered as intended. This is different from Feedback,
as it implies no blame to the buyer (or to the seller) but would help to indicate
which buyers (or sellers) are having order delivery issues.

The information would only be available to the two parties involved in a transaction
(and obviously to the Problem Help Desk). This metric only applies to order delivery,
and not to order accuracy.

I've made it a habit to count a selection of drawers periodically. Personally,
I track what and when I counted on a spreadsheet, but it would be nice to be
able to enter this in my inventory.

I'm not sure if other users would find this useful or not, but I could at
least bring this up to see if this could be relevant for other users.

So the suggestion is to add another field (could be date specific) that kept
track of when you counted those Remarks/locations. I know the Remarks field could
be used, but a separate one would be better in my opinion.

Thoughts?
