I know there are global search settings, but they're only a few. I'm
in Germany and usually want to find parts from sellers in Germany, because of
shipping time and shipping costs.
So, by now, I have to activate "Ships from: Germany" every time I do a search.
Every time!

That is so annoying. My suggestion is: either make this a global search setting
or store my last settings in a cookie so that I don't have to select this
every time.
Thank you!

  Hi everybody,

When adding parts manually from my Inventory (no part out), I used to adjust
quantity and pricing by quickly checking the Price Guide.

When I say quick, I mean I just clicked on the "Price" link and a pop up window
opened instantly, showing the Price Guide for that part. Then I closed the window
and adjusted my price. This was a 2 seconds procedure. I used that procedure
for several colors of the same part without leaving the page. Then I submitted
all these changes in one go. Nice and fast!

Today, for an unknown reason, the same link leads to another page showing the
complete Price Guide with all items for sale. This takes a loooong time to load.
For the most common parts, it can take up to 20 seconds to load!!! Yes, I might
have an old computer. But still.
Then, I have to come back to the previous Inventory page, which can take time
to load and at the top of the said page. Then I have to scroll down to find and
adjust the right color entry. That's for one color. If I have five entries
of the same part in various colors to adjust, I must repeat that process accordingly.

This is really time consuming (x10 at least), annoying, frustrating and painful.
I know there are other ways to adjust prices, but that's the way I used to
work for years and it was so easy. I can't think of any quicker way.

Please, just bring back the small pop up window... Please?

Thaks for reading my rant.

Frédéric

I can't believe sellers do this on BrickLink pages in 2022.

I started with early BrickStore in uhhh 2006 and never quit.

You simply can't imagine how life is easier, and FREE and open-source, and
economic (server friendly - cached), etc.

Hoping it helps?

  Hi Jen,

My question/issue is how to tell if a stickered part had been submitted to be
added to the set inventory as a counterpart - not as a new entry in the catalog.
Every few months I go through those parts that people have added but then neglected
to add those parts to their respective sets. Basically get them out of no mans
land.

So, in the past I added a whole bunch to one of the mobile technic cranes, must've
been about 2 dozen. All were not in the counterpart section of the set. But
someone had beat me to it but there was no way to tell that until I hit submit.
And unfortunately it doesn't flag every part that has already been submitted.
It's one at a time. So you have to delete it, resubmit. Then repeat for
all submitted parts. I think I spent over an hour on that one set - if I recall
it had identical stickers on different parts so I had to go through the instructions
page by page trying to find the correct quantity of each stickered part. It
was tedious but eventually all for naught.

The link Paul supplied will definitely help in the future.

Bill

Ah, makes sense. It's really nice of you to do that. I've also added
orphaned parts occasionally if they have been laying around for a month or two.
'Fill in missing information' is a good place to waste an hour or two
if anyone is bored.

I spend so much time on the Approval Pending Overview that I take it for granted.
I don't do much of any catalog work without checking there first. I wish
they would fix the navigation tools there. It's a mess.

Incredibly frustrating as the time I used, which can be
significant, turned out to be wasted. And you don't find out until the very
last step - at submission. And it doesn't flag all the pieces - only the
first one it finds in the list that had been already submitted. So you can have
20+ parts and it turns out only 1 or 2 haven't been submitted. Good luck
finding out which ones quickly.

Maybe I am misunderstanding you, but when you submit a part with a number already
in use, you get a ready banner saying that item is pending. It does NOT mean
that the exact item you are submitting is pending, only that the number is already
in use. All you have to do is increase the sequential number until your submission
goes through.

Jen

The post was not about adding new stickered counterparts to the catalog. It was
about stickered counterparts that are already in the catalog but have not yet
been added to inventories. Either because the change request is still pending
or because one had not yet been submitted.

Hmmm.. I guess I have always just compared the list of stickers already listed
in the set inventory with the ones that appear on a search. Annoying, yes, but
much less difficult then resubmitting all the parts just to see if they are there.
