| I'm sorry to say that the user experience on Bricklink is terrible. I'd
thought that the acquisition by The Lego Group would bring investment to improve
usability, but nothing has happened. It's immensely disappointing.
1. The search function seems to be geared around buying pieces, not simply searching
the database. Why does it bring up items for sale by default? Why does it order
search results in such a strange way by default?
2. Features for managing parts lists are poor. There's no ability to merge
lists that have parts in common (BL just complains that the parts already exist).
Indeed, it's not even possible to use the 'upload' function to upload
an xml file that has previously been downloaded from Bricklink. Despite that,
it is possible to use an xml file to create a new wanted list. This is obviously
completely unintuitive.
3. It's still not possible to order Bricks and Pieces from Bricklink. This
is such an obvious thing to do that it shouldn't need to be said.
4. Orders seem to be deleted from the order list after only a few months. Why
is this necessary?
5. It is not possible to automatically mark pieces as bought when they have been
ordered.

| Please please separate buyer and seller addresses on a hybrid account.
Keep one main address set fixed on the account, but let sellers have the option
to use separate shipping addresses that do not have an impact on your store status.
I find it ridiculous that my store gets closed if I want to have something shipped
to another country.
Amazon, eBay, etc all have the option to change a shipping address.
Please implement this!

| Hello. This is my first post. Be patient with me.
I would like to be able to mark a set as in my inventory. I would like to mark
individual bricks as in my inventory. I would like to go to a random set and
then this site lets me know if I have enough pieces in my inventory to build
that set.
(this is implemented on Peeron but not here, from what I can see)
Thank you.

| Hi all,
Is it possible to add a sort option on seller in the Items For Sale tab on the
parts page?
At this point of time each color is seperately shown as intended.
As I am often looking for more colors of the same part it is convenient if I
can sort on seller. So I can easily see if a certain seller has more than one
color available.

| I was rather disappointed when on a recent order I received a number of broken,
heavily damaged, and heavily discoloured parts, and was even more surprised when
the order showed that those parts were listed as such. Somehow I had purchased
a number of parts that I am quite literally going to throw straight in the bin.
I suspect I am not the first person this has happened to, and that I won't
be the last.
As far as I can tell, this happened because there is no visibility of the part
notes when shopping a wanted list. In my case, I shopped my wanted list with
~300 parts, and used the auto-select option. The store selection - both in the
confirm and edit views - doesn't show the part notes. To make matters worse,
the auto-select option will favour damaged parts because they are cheaper.
I then created the carts. When viewing the carts, notes are visible, but this
stage is too late to find out about bad parts, because rejecting them here means
having to re-select these from elsewhere. In other words, going back to store
selection, and potentially having to exclude stores or set a desired "new" condition
on those parts. It becomes a very manual process, and I probably don't want
new parts as they will stand out in a second hand set. Note also that the notes
are not highlighted in the cart view - the dimmer grey colour means its easy
to gloss over those.
It would be great if part notes where shown in the "confirm selection" and "edit
selection" modals when shopping a wanted list.
While we're at it, it would be great if there was a "damaged" part state,
to go with "new" and "used", as I definitely do not want damaged parts. Or perhaps
a grading?

ago it sold.
Now we can only see the sales from last 6 months and the items for sale.
But sometimes an item is no longer for sale and it has been more than 6 months
since a sale, I would still like to know what it was sold for.
Why? For my insurrance policy...
Is it an good idea to change it to what I suggest? How do I make it happen??

but I'm not notified and can move the parts in my physical inventory boxes
accordingly.
"Wait, that part was Minifigures, Weapon, Spacegun. Now it's in Minifigures,

it. Or what is currently a 1x1 Technic, Liftarm used to be in Technic and Technic,

Please, when you move something, tell us. Make a list.

Author: | WUIt | Posted: | Feb 15, 2022 15:31 | Subject: | New feedback and rating system | Viewed: | 122 times | Topic: | Suggestions | Status: | Open | Vote: | [Yes|No] | |
| The current BrickLink feedback system with all stores having unrealistically
high (80%) praise-ratings is inadequate from a buyers' perspective. When
evaluating stores, a buyer looks at 1) terms and conditions, 2) seller location,
3) store age, 4) number of completed transactions, 5) likelyhood to deliver all
parts, 6) quality of packaging, and 7) speed of service. The praise-percentage
rating as currently used cannot distinguish the stores delivering excellent service
from the mundane. There is no way to praise a store for good packaging, broad
sortiment, identification of different molds, fast delivery, or exceptional service.
There is also no way to express dissatisfaction in sortiment, slow service, missing
parts, poor packaging, unexpected condition/color of parts, unclear terms&conditions,
unexpected/hidden costs, or surprising shipment costs.
Non-paying buyers and non-shipping sellers have their own dedicated functions,
so these issues must not be part of the feedback system. The neutral feedback
response must assume that the buyer pays the invoice and the seller delivers
the merchandise. Any deviations (positive or negative) from this default expectation
can be considered measures of quality.
The new order feedback system is proposed to have 5 potential responses; Excellent
(Outstanding), Pleased (Good), Adequate (Neutral), Disappointed (Discontent),
and Apalled (Horrible). No feedback should imply an incomplete transaction.
Feedback older than 12 months must not affect the rating. Every Excellent order
rating must exactly counter an Apalled order rating. Every Pleased order rating
must exactly counter a Disappointed order rating. Excellent must improve rating
more than Pleased. Disappointed must reduce order rating more than Adequate.
A new store must not have an untruthful rating. A "perfect" rating should not
be achievable in practise.
Applying the standard solution (from polls and surveys) to this context, results
in the formula:
store rating = 100 * (2*E + P - D - 2*A) / (8 + 2*E + P + N + D + 2*A),
where E = number of orders marked Excellent, P = number of orders marked Pleased,
N = number of orders marked Adequate, D = number of orders marked Disappointed,
and A = number of orders marked Apalled.
The potential rating ranges from -100 to 100 with both extremes extremely difficult
to achieve. A new store starts with rating = 0 indicating that it is neither
good nor bad. If a store has constant ratio 1 of positives to negatives, then
the rating will increase slightly over time. A large number of neutrals will
push the rating back toward zero.
This proposed system would eliminate the misunderstandings regarding "praise"
in the present system, allow honest feedback, and relieve all sellers from fearing
neutral feedback or retaliation. Additional benefits include a rating able to
separate the great from the ordinary and a more accurate indicator of quality.

| Following MANY discussions about this subject, and approving:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1327974
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1328054
(and others)
And guessing this has probably already been proposed, but anyway...
I propose a 0 + 5 Stars rating system.
In essence:
- 0 would correspond to "Zero service (or the current Negative)"
- 1 would mean "I received the minimal service"
- 2 to 4 stars would be something like "it's ok"
- 5 could be "exceptional".
Details:
* a transaction could be "feedbacked" either 0 (very bad) or more usually from
1 (minimum) to 5 stars (maximum)
* while selecting the feedback:
- selecting 0 (or not selecting anything) would be shown in Red
- selecting 1 would be shown in Gray
- selecting 2 to 4 would be shown in Green
- selecting 5 would be shown in Yellow/Gold
* in the feedback score
- no rating would count for NOTHING
- a rating of zero would count (as a Negative)
I think it would be FAR better than the current system:
* frankly unhappy
* frankly happy
* neutral (but which decreases the seller's score!)
* abstention
The previous feedbacks would be converted with this simple rule:
* Negative : 0
* Positive : 5
* Neutral : 3
Then a simple calculation can be made to determine the global feedback of the
member.
On 120 orders, 100 only received a (any) feedback:
- 100 x 5 stars = 500 / 500 = 100%
- 100 x 3 stars = 300 / 500 = 60%
- 100 x 1 stars = 100 / 500 = 20%
- 100 x 0 stars = 0 / 500 = 0%
Of course, at the beginning, we won't see many changes, as Positive receive
5 stars and Negative 0.
But the difference in between the current "95/98%" will start while receiving
new stars feedbacks.
Some will get more 1 or 2, others will receive more 4 or 5.
We'll see some member having 40/60% and some others 80/90%.
Hoping that helps.

| I think it would behoove the online marketplaces to add labeling for PC versus
MABS Transparent LEGO elements. This would help builders and set restorers match
the color of the plastic since it is becoming apparent that the new MABS formula
is affecting the coloration significantly and consistently.
Just putting it out there, it would be a good idea to initiate this sooner than
later, as the color differences between the old Trans-Clear and new Trans-Clear
elements are quite stark. Should labeling options get into place early, it could
save a lot of work later on down the line as it becomes a growing discrepancy.
Play Well!

| Hi Bricklink team!
For me this site is not only the ultimate LEGO database, but also the best trading
platform you could imagine.
The ONLY thing I am missing very much is a kind of inventory function for also
non sellers.
I would love to see a possibility to mark sets I own in the sense of a collection
I can easily see, access and share.
Maybe this was already requested many times and the solution is simply to register
as a seller, use the inventory and not sell the sets in stock somehow?!
If not, I'm very new here and without having contributed much to the community
yet, it is of course not my place to request new features.. so please take it
simply as an inspiration to make this wonderful website even greater.

| Hi there,
I recognized during a wanted list order that there is no possibility now to upload
all the items that I have, so when I order through a wanted list the items that
I already have would be withdrawn from the order. Usually axels, 1x1 tiles, that
remains as an additional piece from big LEGO sets build up and it would be a
nice feature to reduce the unused items through having an own inventory. It is
quite impossible to do it manually when you have 2-3 hundred lots to crosscheck
those.
From programming standpoint it wouldn't mean too much modification as a simple
match should be run between a wanted list and the own inventory DB.
If I missed something and this feature is already available, just let me know
Cheers,
Levi

| Hi
When paying for an order by clicking the "Continue to Paypal" button, the API
only provides a processing icon in the left corner of the browser tab. The suggestion
is to have a processing bar or change the mouse icon so that this step is more
visible. It is easy to think that the button click isn't working properly
causing your customers to click on the button multiple times, potentially causing
more than one payment or the payment process erroring out and forcing process
to be repeated.

| With all the recent talk about when to leave feedback and concerns of retaliation
feedback for leaving honest feedback the best way I see to remedy that would
be to have a system where the buyer or seller can leave feedback at any time
but it won’t actually display the feedback for anyone to see until either:-
Both parties have left feedback for each other whereby the feedback is then revealed
at the same time!
Or if only one party leaves feedback the timescale for leaving feedback will
eventually expire revealing what has been left with no further opportunity for
retaliation!
At least that way both buyers and sellers can be confident of being able to share
their honest experience without the fear of jeopardising their own account for
doing so!

| Hi
Not sure if this is the right place, but I was recently buying a set off eBay,
the listing noted it was incomplete so I parted out on here into a new wanted
list and was trying to gauge from photos how complete the set was. I asked the
seller for the total weight to try and gauge from that, but the weight on the
set's page in the catalogue appears to be total weight including box and
instructions.
Would it not be useful to somehow get a total weight for a wanted list. This
will help in the situation above, to try an estimate quickly completeness of
a set, but also help buyers ascertain some kind of gauge on shipping costs before
attempting to buy?
