As well as the light suggestion which is really important I'd get yourself
a stack of 2x4 bricks in the old and new greys (light and dark) as well as the
reddish browns and browns. If you stick your bricks together when you want to
compare your light / light bluish grey part putting them to the stack of bricks
really makes it stand out as the new and old colours will stand out next to each
other. I wouldn't be without my stack of 2x4 bricks for double-checking colours.

tell the difference between these two colors, do any of you guys have any suggestions

Thanks for your time, and if you wanna check out my store feel free, I am having
a 10% sale on parts right now.

Personally, if it was me I'd refund his original order as it just feels the
right thing to do but not too sure otherwise as a bit unusual. It doesn't
sound like they would give you a neg by the sounds of what you've said.

In Selling, Liriel24 writes:
  Hi

I have this weird case where the buyer ordered from my store and send me his
own shipping label with tracking number. He said he had a better price on his
side. I say ok, no problem.

Order was returned to me because the buyer failed to pick it up at the post office
within 14 days. Of course I have to pay fees on the returned package.

I contacted the buyer a first time to inform him of the returned package and
the fees. He tells me to keep the order and that he will recontact me.

A few days ago I recontacted him again because I'm closing my store temporarily
for the holidays and asked him clearly if he wants me to cancel the order and
refund the money or if he wants me to ship it again, and charge him shipping
and the extra fees.

He said to cancel the order but keep his money. I'm not sure what I should
do, especially since the amount of the order is a few dollars more that the fees
that I had to pay. I don't want to risk any negative feedback or recourse
against me, etc.

Thanks for your advice.

I've got a book called Lego Color Guide by Christoph Bartneck because I'm
into collecting Lego colours. The back of the book says "...ultimate reference
for 180+ colors that the Lego company produced ober the years." So quite a few.

If it were me I'd part them out as it will be more profitable, unless you
need a fast return on your investment and they are particularly in demand sets
of course. It'll take a lot longer to sell all the parts compared to selling
the whole set but it depends on the store business model you have developed.

In Selling, Lamondera writes:
  Dear Brickfriends,
I have a question for you. I just bumped today into some sets of Lego Movie 2,
at a 60% discount sale. They are NIB, sealed, but the boxes are slightly damaged.
Would you suggest to part out and sell the parts or to try to sell them as whole
sets?
Is there anyone more experienced who has a good suggestion to give?
Thanks!

Yes, thank you. I wondered about Rebrickable but thought that was more geared

I have been thinking of asking for that feature here. Definitely ought to be
in the seller tools.

I guess you could do it at rebrickable but you'll need to enter all of the
pieces.

Hi, can anyone help with the diameters of pneumatic hoses, please?

I have a huge amount to list and I have noted some are thinker than the Bricklink
catalog of 4mm. I understand the length can vary as Lego used to supply a 'whole'
length with the user needing to cut to the correct size.

I have some that vary in diameter from 4.3 / 4.4mm and some that are slightly
smaller than 4mm (3.7/3.8). Would this variance be normal for this part?

Many thanks.

You'd have to use plenty of Calgon.

In Off Topic, jacko writes:
  Hello there,

Just a thought everyone.

I’ve just taken a couple of Lego kits out of the washing machine (which if you’re
not into Lego, may sound rather odd!?)

As I lay the bricks out to dry, I needed to separate a few that have randomly
joined together. This made me think of the infinite monkey theorem.

This states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for
an infinite amount of time will almost surely type any given text, such as the
complete works of William Shakespeare.

My thought/question is – if you had a washing machine run an infinite number
of wash cycles, with the same kit, would you, on one occasion find that the bricks
have joined together in the correct order and the kit is correctly built?

For more detail, have a look at this page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem

Anyone able to prove the theorem?

Regards

Loads of these when I first opened a store and started to list.

Part No: 3614a Name: Plate, Round 1 x 1 with Tow Ball with Round Hole (Homemaker Figure / Maxifigure Hand)
*
3614a Plate, Round 1 x 1 with Tow Ball with Round Hole (Homemaker Figure / Maxifigure Hand)

Over the years my knowledge of what is Lego and what is another brand (or fake

piece that I had thrown into the "get rid of Megabloks pile" was actually Lego.

This is the piece (I remember also throwing out a dark red one away about 6 months
ago):

Part No: 22411 Name: Minifigure, Plume Feather Ponytail
*
22411 Minifigure, Plume Feather Ponytail
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear Accessory

The first piece that I recall not knowing was Lego only to find out later (once
it was given away in the fake Lego pile) that it was:

Part No: 58176 Name: Bar with Light Bulb Cover (Bionicle Barraki Eye)
*
58176 Bar with Light Bulb Cover (Bionicle Barraki Eye)
Parts: Bar

So I am asking others to share which pieces they can remember that they though
were not Lego. Hopefully this can help me an others not make the same mistake.

Probably someone has already made a list of these pieces already!!!

I just got the very same thing on order #17058676 when clicking the "post" link

so no caching issue and no issue with special characters (as I couldn't even

I was able to leave feedback by using the generic feedback page:

No, I use a set of generic feedback messages. I've been able to leave feedback
since too. If I click on the link (for admisitrators) it takes me to a Microsoft

above.

LOL, this one made me chuckle

Ok, so there's this setting in My Store - Settings - Management called
"Show price guide as a summary (pop up)."

When they remade the inventory pages in new code, we had a silly situation where
checking the box would result in having the pop up in the one version, and the
full page in the other version. Unchecking it would do the reverse. I had reported
that long ago.

Seems now they "fixed" it by making *BOTH* pages respond in the wrong way
:

When you UNcheck the box, you DO get the popup version. When you CHECK the
box, you get the FULL PAGE version.

Let's say that at least it's good to see that Bricklink has been putting
"some" work into it, and that the old and new version of the pages finally respond
the same way...

So the answer to your question is: Uncheck the popup box, and you will get the
popup again

Possibly if they have been inventoried. Look at the set that the sticker sheet
applies to then look at the Item consists of which will show a breakdown of all
parts. Go to the very bottom and if they are inventoried they will be there.

You get this a lot with LBG, it looks a bit washed out and almost light grey
(but is LBG). With these parts, if they are very noticeable I create a new lot
and keep them separate and then in the notes just say that these parts are a
little washed out and almost resemble the older light greycolour. I don't
think it is so much discolouration but rather just the material used at certain
times / plants.

In General, LeeGo73 writes:

discolored LBG and LG parts is sometimes very minor.

An good example is 2x 6192 I have. If you see them in a pile of LBG, they do
not seem LBG at all, more LG. They blend in nice in a pile of LG. However this
parts does not exist in LG in a set according to bricklink.
This part is being sold for €.10 to €.20 in LBG and €6 to €8 in LG.

How do I put this part for sale?
How can I you tell the difference between (discolered) LBG and LG?

You could list them as a custom item or a good description of what it is under
its proper listing. There's a call for everything Lego - sometimes it takes

When not knowing the origin of the item, the basecolor (of body and arms) is
the only thing I know for sure, so I would like to narrow down the list by this,
then look over the pictures until I find which one it is.

Tried this in Brickstore, it also does not allowing sorting this category by
color. Also same in add-brick in rebrickable.
