Please add the following alternate item numbers:

Part No: 92842 Name: Propeller 3 Blade 5 Diameter
*
92842 Propeller 3 Blade 5 Diameter
Parts: Propeller
The new number is 77099.

https://brickset.com/parts/design-92842
https://brickset.com/parts/design-77099

No important difference, pip mark has a new position and the new variant is slightly
flexible and probably not made out of ABS anymore. (But it is certainly not flexible
enough to justify a new entry.)

-----------------------------

Part No: 48171 Name: Technic, Brick Modified 2 x 2 with Pin Hole and Rotation Joint Ball Half Vertical
*
48171 Technic, Brick Modified 2 x 2 with Pin Hole and Rotation Joint Ball Half Vertical
Parts: Technic, Brick
The new number is 48454.

https://brickset.com/parts/design-48171
https://brickset.com/parts/design-48454

No visible difference.

Thanks,
Jonas

These two minifigures were just submitted yesterday, so us admins had not seen
them yet. I have gone ahead and approved them just now.

Cheers,

I have the bicycle helmet with hair part from the skate park set, but it has
a new part number of 76417 molded in. So please add an alternate item number
for this part. Original Item #: 54647pb03.

Whenever such info is available - artwork is always displayed/listed with the
year or at least a general timeline for when it was/is thought to be conceived.
That kind of info is also most often listed at the very end. That's *exactly*
what we have right now and it is just not right. No matter how you look at it
in it's current form - the answer to the question 'Can this be misleading'
is 'yes'. This is not an opinion and it is not something debatable. What
is debatable is whether BL wants to have it this way or not. Hence my suggestion
to add an actual year of production of the print. If there was no year mentioned
in the description - we probably would not be talking about this.

It is already clearly stated on the page - released 2019.

  Please add extended description:

*******************************

First Edition Print - Illustration in Water Color for LEGO® Wooden Toy Elephant,
Circa 1937
Printed on premium paper with embossing.
25.5cm x 31.6cm (10.03" x 12.44")

Available exclusively as a VIP Reward for 650 points beginning in August 2019.
Between November 27 and November 30, 2020, the "cost" of this reward was reduced
to 325 points as part of a Black Friday / Cyber Monday promotion before returning
to the original 650 points. Beginning February 1, 2021, the "cost" of this reward
was reduced to 150 points in celebration of LEGO Patent Day.

*******************************

ADDITIONALLY
Currently it makes it look as if you're buying an actual watercolour item
from 1937

I propose a name change to:

First Edition Print - Illustration in Water Color for LEGO Wooden Toy Elephant,
Circa 1937 (2019)

It is in the gear / poster section, so should be fairly obvious you are getting
a poster and not a real toy of an elephant from 1937.

I'm fairly sure the naming of it here is exactly what LEGO called it. It
is no longer in my rewards centre, but "1st Edition of Wooden Duck Print, 1958"
is. It also has the same name in the brickset database, suggesting it is LEGO's
name for it.

If this one gets changed to a different name then so should others like

Gear No: 5006005 Name: First Edition Print - Yellow Spread from LEGO System Brochure, 1958
*
5006005 First Edition Print - Yellow Spread from LEGO System Brochure, 1958
Gear: Poster: LEGO Originals
to make it clear you are getting a print and not a brochure in this case or an
original patent in some other cases. Although it is obvious (to me) that these
are prints based on their category.

And does it really need the full history of the VIP point costs for redemption?
No other VIP rewards have this information and someone would need to keep track
of the redemption costs (and the history of the redemption costs) of all VIP
gifts such as:

Gear No: 89688 Name: Notebook, Stranger Things
*
89688 Notebook, Stranger Things
Gear: School Supplies: Stranger Things

Set No: 40178 Name: Iconic VIP Set polybag
*
40178-1 (Inv) Iconic VIP Set polybag
198 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2017
Sets: LEGO Brand: LEGO Brand Store: Model

Set No: 5004590 Name: Bat-Pod
*
5004590-1 (Inv) Bat-Pod
338 Parts, 2015
Sets: Super Heroes: The Dark Knight Trilogy

Gear No: 5005205 Name: VIP Chrome Red Minifigure Key Chain with LEGO Logo Tile, Modified 3 x 2 Curved with Hole - Yellow Label
*
5005205 VIP Chrome Red Minifigure Key Chain with LEGO Logo Tile, Modified 3 x 2 Curved with Hole - Yellow Label
Gear: Key Chain

They don't even get a note that they were VIP gifts, just like sets don't
get a note about which stores they were sold in or whether they were given away
with newspapers or magazines. Add to that that the costs (and the history of
the costs) of regular sets is not stored either, so why do it for VIP redemptions?

I see the name of the item has already been changed and the note added. Catmins
- thanks for the quick turnaround!

@yorbrick
1) You have misunderstood me. I don't think anyone looking at the listing
would think that they'll be getting an actual wooden Elephant? My issue was
in the description not being clear enough and leading to think that it is an
actual watercolour artwork from circa 1937. I still do not think
the naming as it is right now is clear enough:
LegoFirst Edition Print - Illustration in Water Color for LEGO Wooden Toy Elephant,
Circa 1937

Whenever such info is available - artwork is always displayed/listed with the
year or at least a general timeline for when it was/is thought to be conceived.
That kind of info is also most often listed at the very end. That's *exactly*

is debatable is whether BL wants to have it this way or not. Hence my suggestion
to add an actual year of production of the print. If there was no year mentioned
in the description - we probably would not be talking about this.

The items are now named exactly as they are on the prints themselves. The year
of release is superfluous information because the catalog entry already stores
the year of release.

  2) Extended description - argument that other items do not have such info is
not an argument to not add it. Origins of the item are always interesting to
know, especially when it has something to do with art. As far as the MSRP/retail
price goes - the amount of points needed to redeem the item... also tells a story.
If the proposed description was an essay instead of a paragraph then yes, perhaps
it would be a good idea to see if it can be shortened but in this case I do not
really see a problem. Besides, the value of any random LEGO set sold at lego.com
can at least be ball-parked. While saying that 'this was available to redeem
for points' leaves you guessing about the amount of points required/relative
value at the time.

If someone takes the time to add some historical information to a catalog entry,
then I think it should be added. It does not mean that it has to be added to
everything.

The instructions for set 4820 contain many PCCs that aren’t present on Bricklink,
but also raise another question regarding the existence of part 6510 in Trans-Purple.
Is there any evidence to suggest this part even exists? This part isn’t on sale,
nor does it have a PCC, photo, or presence on a render. It is also not present
on the instructions.

Perhaps a catalog associate can add these PCCs to the catalog. Some of the numbers
are quite difficult to make out, and perhaps they can make them out better than
I can.

What is the old number and what is the new number?

Sorry, I had a lot on my shoulders. I see it already done, but I am talking about

I can't find a 28578 or 28575 anywhere in the catalog.

What is the old number and what is the new number?

28578 is the design ID https://brickset.com/parts/design-28578

Thanks, Paul.

Can a note be added to part 4006, similar to the note on part 4085a:

"This part in Light Gray is known to have a variation of shades as can be seen
in the additional image."

As you can see it's the exact same shade as the 4085a variation, and the
time period also matches (early 80's).
Probably made from the same material.

Greetings,
Koen

Sets: Rock Raiders

came with a Rock Raiders comic book, while others did not.

If you look closely at the Original Box image, you will note the orange outlined
item in the lower right corner of the front surface. That is the indicator that
this was the run with the comic book.

The copies I have remaining (one of which has a good condition front panel) do
not have that orange outlined flash message. Of the 20-30 copies I obtained (between
2001 and 2002) I do not ever recall seeing a comic book. It possible (just a
hunch tho) that the comic book was primarily shipped in EU productions runs.

I'll try to get a good image of this box front to illustrate the difference.

This may also necessitate some adjustment to the inventory to show the comic
book to be optional.

thanks, Nita Rae

An additional note was added to the box entry for this set.

Thanks Jen,

I've added chef027 for approval, I've got the message image successfully
added.

Think I'm on the right track now.

Hopefully it gets approved and I can add it to the inventory as you describe

I think you need to create the chef027 minifigure first?
You need to do that first before you can add the inventory of parts.

On the 'Catalog Add or Change' screen, you need to hit 'Minifigure'
under the 'Add Item' section. Direct link is...
https://www.bricklink.com/wantedCatalog.asp?catType=M

Once it's created, you'll need to add an image too.

Yes!

1) Add the new minifigure
2) Submit an image
3) Wait for approval

then:

4) Submit inventory for the minifig and edit your pending Inventory for the set
to include the minifig.

Agree. Earth Orange would need to be shot in very poor light to look like that
and the background doesn't seem to have been affected.

Which is a darn shame. Like pink Minifig arms, they are pretty unlikely to fix
their omission now.

Hi Axaday,

The front of that torso is correct, the difference is he has the back print of
the Lego House part number 973pb3131c01
However looking at chef025 and chef026 from the other 2 Lego House Chefs the
images don't include a back shot on here.

Question:
Is there an official way to add original boxes?
I looked on the Catalog Add or Change page, but didn't see anything about
boxes.

Gear items cannot have original box entries. Only the Set item type has this
feature.

In this case, though, what you are looking at is two entirely different game
entries. One of these entries is for the game in the normal cardboard box packaging
(31390), and the other entry is for the game in the collector's tin (31391).
31391 is _not_ just the packaging for 31390.

Cheers,
Randy

I missed that little nuance.
I’ll put in the change then like I did for 31390.

The Ms marvel minifigure (sh375) is missing 2 parts from her inventory on the
photo :
2 x Medium Nougat Hand Gorilla Fist (fits Minifigure Hand) Catalog: Parts: Minifigure,
Body Part 6167913

I don't have one on my inventory, but the picture should be updated to add
these two parts.

The inventory in this case should be made to match the photo. In accordance with
catalog guidelines, the gorilla fists are considered hand-held accessories and
should not be a part of the minifigure. I have switched this over to an Inventory
Admin so that they may update the inventory.

Done. The hands are now included in the set inventory.

Please remove the alternate image for the figure.

Also done. Thanks, Jonas.

While we are at it, 41681c04 could be as follows:

41679 x 2 in Dark Gray
41680 x 1 in Black
41681 x 1 in Red

and 41681c05 could be:

41679 x 2 in Dark Gray
41680 x 1 in Black
41681 x 1 in Blue

These combinations come from set 8558-1, Cahdok & Gahdok

Thanks again.

Could we add to the catalog a third combination (41681c03)? This would include
the following:

41679 x 2 in Dark Gray
41680 x 1 in Light Gray
41681 x 1 in Dark Gray

This combination comes from set 8557-1, Exo-Toa.

Thanks

Congratulations you have found probably on of the oldest catalog error on Bricklink.
I have tried to fix this it once. But did not get a responce for it that time.

Part number 2312 & 4883 were incorrectly entered in the database from the beginning
(they switched places) as there was no number on the part back then not until
mold 13.

If a catalog admin read this Please switch the part numbers on those two, the
text and picture are correct.

And i forgot to write that 3884 is 4883 molded the wrong way, you need to look
at it through a mirror,

There is a secondary photo with the arms unfolded that has the hands included.
If you are selling parts, is best to use the inventory rather then just the
images.

I would like to suggest a better way to organize animals/creatures. From this
point forward when I say creature I mean animals as well. When searching for
creatures I find it very difficult to find what I am looking for. When I was
trying to find a certain horse it was difficult because of all the accessories
and pieces that were related.

I Think it would be better if creatures had were organized in their own category
as mini-figs are. The category would include a wide variety of creatures. Such
as the friends animals, the Large trolls from Fantasy Era, dragons, the leopard,
lion and centaur from harry potter. That is just a basic list for example. Some
of the creatures may be included in the mini-fig organization. I do not think
they should be removed from it, just also added to the suggested creature organization.

Animals can be easily found by looking in the appropriate catalog categories:

Animal, Air - https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?catType=P&catString=146

Animal, Dinosaur - https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?catType=P&catString=184

Animal, Land - https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?catType=P&catString=147

Animal, Water - https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?catType=P&catString=145

You can get to these categories by browsing the main page for Parts (hover over
the "Market" tab in the header of any page and select "Parts" from under the
"Catalog" side):

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogTree.asp?itemType=P

Once you bring up one of those categories listed above, run a search from the
"Find:" text box to narrow your results. So, for horses, go to the Animal,
Land
category, and then narrow your search by "horse" in the "Find:" text
box.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Randy

our UCS list on BL is nearly exactly the same as Brickset's list after my
request to put Death Star 10188 to the list.

Now the unique difference is Ewok Village:

Set No: 10236 Name: Ewok Village - UCS
*
10236-1 (Inv) Ewok Village - UCS
1928 Parts, 17 Minifigures, 2013
Sets: Star Wars: Ultimate Collector Series: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

Please move it as well to UCS. The reason is the same like for 10188 - all lists
without any exception do include this set as a UCS set (Brickset, Starwarscollector,
Brickimedia etc.)

Thanks Mauro

You're welcome.

I tried using the form, but got an error.

There is a change pending approval, but they used 4016-1 and 4016-2 which already
exist in the catalog.

I thought since the update Sets and Gears could share item numbers.

And I thought they could share the item number, but have a suffix added to them
like sets do.
I guess that part wasn’t really clear.

If Stellar is correct, then his numbering (replacing the g with a dash) would
be better.
But I see it as treating gear as sets and having the same numbering convention.

I would not want to repeat the "-1" and "-2" used for the sets, because that
would just cause another type of confusion. When you do a search for "4016" from
the top of the page now, you get the sets and the gear "sets" without needing
to add an asterisk or anything else. This was the desired result for this project,
so we are good.

I just add the instructions for set 1211-2

In the text to the left it says You can build this (pitures to the right) from
content of box.

In the pictures to the right, there are 2 different kind of builds, and the build
on top fits the current BL inventory.

But the build below You can clearly see that drawing marked 1 contains 2 pcs
of 31ac01 Red Window 1 x 3 x 2 with Extended Lip and Solid Studs, with Fixed
Glass.
And also have as alternate 2 pcs of 31c Red Window 1 x 3 x 2, without Glass for
Slotted Bricks OR 2 pcs of 31bc01 Red Window 1 x 3 x 2 with Extended Lip, with
Glass.

The bottom drawing also show that 2 pcs of 3005 White Brick 1 x 1 more are needed.
1 on each side of the 1x6 and 1 by the door.

But no indication of the same applies for later set 211-1.

This has been completed:

Thanks for the instructions scan and please let me know if you think there is
still anything wrong.

thanks, think this one is perfect, but I think same issue for set 1210-2, but
my set are packed down to check.

I find it very hard to find things like this when I want to find something
that is not a mini-fig. Please consider the suggestion, I would really love to
see this added. Thanks for reading!

It won't show up as a "known color" for that part until the set's inventory
has been added. Anyone can contribute set inventories!

Had to be her. I have skimmed almost every Belville doll now, but I got rid
of her because she is hideous.

There are 2 on eBay loose. One with a very clear dark purple and violet clash.
The other is harder to see because of how they posed her, but could tend toward
a better match.

And the catalog entry was added in 2005 so it could well be the dress from that
year and not from 2000.

My goodness. I looked several times. Glanced. The X fooled me. It looks like
one of my old pictures.

I agree, but from what I can see we don't know so far *if* the dress from
2000 is actually dark purple or not.

I feel pretty comfortable. It looks the same in set pictures and the picture
of the completed witch. And if it hadn't looked like the catalog picture
when I sorted the set out, I would have taken a new picture. I took 20some of
the pictures in that inventory. I don't sell a piece that I don't think
has a picture that represents it well enough.

Lego didn't have bricks that color in 2000, but the set box and instructions
are that color and it is very similar to Trans-Purple used in that set.

While I agree with this change, wouldn’t this change Dark Purple’s release year
to 2000? This same dress was used in a set in 2000, but Dark Purple was first
used in 2004. Other dresses in Light Blue and Pink have this same issue. Perhaps
a catalog administrator can change the release year back to 2003?

I didn't notice that it was also in another set. The one I was working with
is within Dark Purple's time.

It isn't violet.

Another solution is to make the skirt N/A and put Dark Purple into its name.

I believe it is fine as Dark Purple until a time when clothes from years past
may be treated differently in regards to how they are classified.

However, the dress may be different colors from different sets if it spanned
a color transition period. Changing all the sets that it appeared in to include
it as Dark Purple right away may not have been the smartest move.

Those changes were made because the person who said the part is not Purple but
Dark Purple was the same person who confirmed both inventories that include
the part with source: sealed set contents.
Admittedly I had not checked/noticed that this would result in a wrong release
year for Dark Purple.

Then again, the dress from 2000 does not like purple, so what color could it
be? Violet maybe?

Definitely not regular Violet. It is a squinty OK match for dark blue-violet.
But then we move the release year of that color. If it is really important,
I would change it to NA and put dark purple at the start of the name. Then it
looks in inventoried exactly like it does now, but it does appear in the color
guide.

That part in your image is the 2005 dress, isn't it? I think dark purple
is okay for that part but we need to know if the 2000 dress is the same color
(probably it isn't because dark purple did not yet exist in 2000).

The part in my image is of the 2000 dress, taken a year ago. I just got the
2005 dress and didn't need to take a picture.

Okay. I was just confused because the figure is from

Set No: 5961 Name: Snow Queen
*
5961-1 (Inv) Snow Queen
56 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2005
Sets: Belville: Fairy-Tale
(I'm talking about this picture: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1318502
)

So can you say anything about a potential color difference between the dress
from 2000 and the one from 2005?

I assumed that the image you meant was the image of the dress in the catalog.
That image was taken a year ago when I had 5826.

Um, that image is from roxanne...
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp?itemType=P&itemNo=belvskirt19&v=2
And the catalog entry was added in 2005 so it could well be the dress from that
year and not from 2000.

  I don't have that dress
anymore, but the picture looks spot on to the one I have now.

Even without that, I don't think it would be correct to say that it probably
wasn't dark purple in 2000 because dark purple didn't exist yet. The
dress is made of shiny fabric, not ABS. It happens to be a good match for dark
purple ABS that came a few years later, but it was a nice dark purple shade of
fabric at the time and they probably weren't concerned about it matching
anything in the LEGO palette. I am sure they bought the fabric from another
company.

I agree, but from what I can see we don't know so far *if* the dress from

You can create the item, and then on this page expand the title: even if it appears
in red: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&myPend=Y

Do people actually search on terms like "without shoulder belts"? I'm trying
to understand the reasoning for including that phrase in the part's title.
If I search on "shoulder belts" I would surely want to see only torsos and assemblies
with shoulder belts.

Maybe there is a similar torso and that is what is different from the other.

Then it should be added to the other one.

Same thing with the word "detailed". Do people look at a part and think that
is not just armor, it is detailed armor.

I believe the point isn't to help identify one lone part, but to help differentiate
between parts. The 'detailed' will become quite relevant when you are
trying to decide between similar parts you have in hand.

Also, constantly updating older names when new items are added is impractical
in the long term.

from 2000 and the one from 2005?

Please create Torso Assembly, Decorated entry: (973pb4507c01) "Torso SW Armor
Stormtrooper, Detailed Armor with Yellow Marking without Shoulder Belts, Black
Backpack with White Cylinders on Back Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands".
The form cuts off the last few letters.

Part No: 973pb4507c01 Name: Torso SW Armor Stormtrooper, Detailed Armor with Yellow Marking without Shoulder Belts, Black Backpack with White Cylinders on Back Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands
*
973pb4507c01 (Inv) Torso SW Armor Stormtrooper, Detailed Armor with Yellow Marking without Shoulder Belts, Black Backpack with White Cylinders on Back Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

It helps to look at the history of those Stormtrooper torsos to understand why
they are named that way:

Part No: 973pskc01 Name: Torso SW Armor Stormtrooper Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands
*
973pskc01 (Inv) Torso SW Armor Stormtrooper Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.
This is the first Stormtrooper torso from 2001 so it was just named "SW Armor
Stormtrooper".

In 2012, we got a new version with more armor details, so it was named "detailed
armor".

Part No: 973pb1048c01 Name: Torso SW Armor Stormtrooper, Detailed Armor with Shoulder Belts Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands
*
973pb1048c01 (Inv) Torso SW Armor Stormtrooper, Detailed Armor with Shoulder Belts Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

In 2014, we got yet another torso which looks almost exactly like the one from
2012 exept for the missing shoulder belts, so "without shoulder belts" was added
to the name.

Part No: 973pb1712c01 Name: Torso SW Armor Stormtrooper, Detailed Armor without Shoulder Belts Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands
*
973pb1712c01 (Inv) Torso SW Armor Stormtrooper, Detailed Armor without Shoulder Belts Pattern / White Arms / Black Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

As it turnes out, most Stormtrooper torsos since 2014 are without shoulder belts,
so that term was used again for some of them.

I was surprised that I did that so I went to check. Nope. It was someone else.

It looks like dark purple on her too.

Even though her top is more of one of the violet colors, I think.

I have never understood any of the without comments. If it doesn't appear
of course it is without. Is this torso typically standard with shoulder belts?
I don't think it is.

I'm not sure that

Part No: 92253c00pb01 Name: Mini Doll Hips and Trousers with Back Pockets with Tan Shoes Pattern - Thick Hinge
*
92253c00pb01 Mini Doll Hips and Trousers with Back Pockets with Tan Shoes Pattern - Thick Hinge
Parts: Mini Doll, Legs
and [P=92253c00pb05] differ enough to
warrant being different parts.

All minifig images using those parts look tan to me, only the comparison photo
on the first part shows a slight difference in color, but note that one is a
dual mold with (non-printed) tan shoes, the other is a single mold with tan printed
shoes. The dark blue part underneath probably makes the tan color seem darker
just like it happens for other colors on other parts (e.g. pies).

So my advice is to merge the parts because all other single/dual-mold mini doll
leg variants that I know of are handled by a single part with a note on it that
variants exist. Example:

Part No: 92251c00pb02 Name: Mini Doll Hips and Trousers Cropped with Magenta Butterflies, Light Nougat Legs, and Medium Lavender Sandals with Straps Pattern - Thick Hinge
*
92251c00pb02 Mini Doll Hips and Trousers Cropped with Magenta Butterflies, Light Nougat Legs, and Medium Lavender Sandals with Straps Pattern - Thick Hinge
Parts: Mini Doll, Legs

Another solution for consistency is to split all known single/dual mold mini
doll leg variants.

This one have the central section completely straight, IIRC, the older one have
a sort of stud that enters into the hole i nthe motor. I will take a pic this
