I am always amazed at the large number of minifigures Lego has or had released.
There is Penny from The Big Bang Theory (wish I knew her last name),Nesquick
Bunny, lots and lots of Star Wars, and so many more. But there is holes that
they have complete missed. The ones I would buy are: any Barbie figures, Mr
Clean, Betty Page, Randle McMurphy, Norman Bates, Inspector Clouseau, HAL, V,
any Star Trek, ET, Sarah Connor, Terminator T-800, Katniss Everdeen, Keyser Söze,
Ferris Bueller, The Man With No Name, Forrest Gump, Ron Burgundy, Ellen Ripley,
James Bond, Ariel, Ghostface, and others. Lego should really consider these.

When accessing the colour guide [https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp]
and clicking on parts for a certain colour [this one is for coral {https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&colorPart=220}],
shouldn't the images at least be the right colour? Currently (at the previous
link), it just shows the default image colour but I think it should show in the
coral coloured image.

Thoughts?

At the page https://www.bricklink.com/catalogStatsSold.asp?orderNew=U&itemType=P
I find the statistics here to be very helpful. I feel a way to improve the feature
dramatically would be to add a drop-down menu to select part catagory and color.
So you could select lime and see the top 100 sold lime parts, select plate, modified
and see the most sold plate, modified parts, or select both plate, modified as
well as lime and see the most sold lime plate, modified parts.

Inventory sorting prompt has a selection for Sort items by: "Item No, Color Name"
and since you only see "Item No" in reference to "Set ID" when you click "Edit
More" link, change either the "Set ID" to "Item No" or vice-versa, to be consistent.

Hello,

I just had a seller messaging me about why for over a week I didn't approve
their quantity change as a bunch of pieces were missing.

- I had visited my profile every day but had no notification of some sort showing
me that a request for me to take action was pending, I red dot next to a link
to that quantity change approval page in the column orders would have been enough
for me to notice something was waiting for me to do something
- I had no message from seller, which is not a technical issue but in my opinion
a mistake from the seller
- I had no alert of some kind on the order page itself, there was no red box
on top of the page with a blinking arrow next to it, telling you to click somewhere
if you wanted to go to another change quantity request page
- The status of the order had not changed, it was just saying "pending", the
same status it has after you place an order with request for invoice, I was expecting
it would have a status of some sort, like "awating buyer quantity change approval"

I however had a mail from bricklink bot (in my spam obviously) telling me about
this pending piece change approval

So then I went to the page to approve the change, but there I had a weird table
not clearly stating what the quantity was that I had ordered and what the actual
quantity change request was, it showed one number but I still don't really
know if this was how much pieces I would get or how much pieces were actually
missing, so I just blindly accepted everything and guess I will need to wait
for the order to arrive to know for sure what I will get

Don't get me wrong, I love bricklink, I mean I placed +-200 successfull orders
the last 4-5 years (and got only scammed once where I paid 200 euro by IBAN and
never got anything), so it is not that I write you all this because I'm raging
behind my desk and swearing at the bricklink admins or product managers
I'm a developer myself and I know how much work it is to build something
like bricklink, so I understand why things are how they are, but still I thought
it was worth mentioning those things that in my oponion can be improved, just
in case they are not already on a todo list

Submitted for your consideration:
I would like to see an option for my wanted lists so that I can set my wanted
lists to show 100 per page instead of going in and changing all of them as I
use them. Also I would like to see the wanted lists would by default list the
parts alphabetically no matter what item per page setting that I use.
Thanks for listening, Rich

To avoid issues such as what we mentioned yesterday why not get Bricklink to
add to the stores terms page a variant policy statement from the store. I am
sure we will see everything from no policy to a complete novel, but at least
it is something that can be looked at by potential buyers and it may even add
clarity to the current situation.

We very strongly believe this is a stores responsibility and not the buyers.
A buyer should have confidence in the fact they are getting what they ordered.
or a notice from the store to alert them they aren't.

Of course mistake can and will happen but if a policy statement is at least on
the mind of the store maybe it will help them to focus

I do agree that buyers, if concerned could ask for details but of 6 stores who
were asked none replied is not a good result.

My suggestion is to add a checkbox to the Store Filters where you can select
stores that are VAT enabled.

Reason being that if you buy as a business you can reclaim the VAT, which obviously
doesn't fly for purchases from private sellers.

So essentially this would allow businesses to find other businesses more easily,
save on their cost price, and increase their liquidity. Finally, this results
in more investment, more Bricklink transactions and potentially lower sale prices
to their customers, because they don't have to compensate the 21% difference
(in case of Dutch VAT) in purchase cost.

I could go into more detail with example calculations of course, if required.

After updating the Wanted quantity of a part through the wanted list modal on
a set inventory for example, I had the negative surprise of finding out the Have
quantity had been reset to 0.

Reproduction steps:
- Add a part to a wanted list, set the Have quantity to 1.
- On an inventory featuring the same part in the same color, click on the Add
to Wanted list heart-shaped link.
- In the modal, select the wanted list, the existing Wanted quantity shows.
- Change the Wanted quantity, click on the Update button.
- Go back to Wanted List.
- The Have quantity for this part is now 0.

I created a default list of approximately 800 items. The auto select returned
7 stores. I placed orders in the first 6, the 7th would not let me as the seller
had a limit of 3 lots per sale. My order with him was comprised 139 lots. He
has not responded to messages asking for a bypass password, an option he offers.

It would be nice if the auto select could either allow you to exclude particular
sellers, those with lot limits and/or provide some warning up front that a limit
exists prior to placing orders.

I have had to recreate the subset of items in another default list to only now
have another 5 carts created, one of which is the offending store.

I am unable to complete my in a logical manner. Were I able to manually do so,
it will be at significantly increased price do to the added shipping/handling.
I had 4 or 5 projects I was trying to complete. None of them can occur now.

Please add a metric, that would track per buyer (and seller), the success/failure
rate, of orders being delivered as intended. This is different from Feedback,
as it implies no blame to the buyer (or to the seller) but would help to indicate
which buyers (or sellers) are having order delivery issues.

The information would only be available to the two parties involved in a transaction
(and obviously to the Problem Help Desk). This metric only applies to order delivery,
and not to order accuracy.

I've made it a habit to count a selection of drawers periodically. Personally,
I track what and when I counted on a spreadsheet, but it would be nice to be
able to enter this in my inventory.

I'm not sure if other users would find this useful or not, but I could at
least bring this up to see if this could be relevant for other users.

So the suggestion is to add another field (could be date specific) that kept
track of when you counted those Remarks/locations. I know the Remarks field could
be used, but a separate one would be better in my opinion.

Thoughts?

When looking at a Catalog based list of lots/offers, if a seller has an extended
description, there is a 'more' link to click. That link does not display
the extended description, it merely takes you to the seller's store and displays
that listing without the extended description, then you have to click 'more'
a second time. That click results in a modal style overlay that shows the extended
description.

Please change this to show the modal overlay on the Catalog based list of lots/offers,
and only require one click of 'more'. It should improve/reduce the number
of store page loads.

Note that this might actually be a technical, or design, issue, but I'm putting
it under Suggestions for now.

thanks, Nita Rae

Perhaps I've missed the settings, but in case they are non-existing I thought
to suggest the following:

It would be great if every post has a country flag next to the subject on the
Community page. This applies mostly to posts with store promotions and discount
announcements, as you can instantly tell whether the post is relevant to you
or not.

Typically I write (NL) with the post to let people know that way, but most sellers
won't do this.

Please add the ability download Store Settings, as an XML file.

In particular, the Shipping settings (a/k/a the various Shipping methods) would
be a great help to be able to download. When I need to make a change across all
similar shipping methods, it is tricky to keep track of which have done and which
have not been done (a byproduct of having to go back to the list between each
change). A download would allow me to review all the shipping methods, side by
side.

You can go to see parts in all existing colors except (Not Aplicable), but you
can if you modify the URL:

So just update that page to include a link to that one missing

I wasn't thinking and recently ordered 13 sets worth of bricks all at once
to try to minimize the price. It's been rough sorting through everything.

It'd be great if, at least after doing the auto-select stores to build out
orders, on the buyer's side the orders were labeled with which wanted list
the part came from and the quantity.

Let's say I have wanted lists A and B. A has 100x 2x4 black bricks and 100x
2x4 white bricks. B has 100x 2x4 black bricks and 100x 2x4 red bricks. I go to
buy, select A and B, and auto select stores, which then gets broken down into
2 orders, one with 200x 2x4 black bricks, and 1 with 100x 2x4 white brick and
100x 2x4 red bricks.

The first order would have a note next to the 200x 2x4 black bricks that said
something like A:100 B:100, and the second order would have A:100 next to the
white bricks, and B:100 next to the red bricks.

Most stores provide information on what they use to ship, and it tends to be
pretty standard - USPS, DHL shipping (for international), et cetera. Information
on the average range of ship times for those shipping methods are available on
the site of the shipping method. So why not add the ability to filter for those?
Or, at least, filter by shipping method?

Hello,

it's the second time I get framed.
I bought in a shop which had the lesser price for an item, then in the invoice
VAT came and the price became suddenly unconvenient.

If I do not pay, then, I get a NPB, so I am forced to.

I think it should be NOT my task to know if a VAT will be added to the final
price, but bricklink's.

Plus all the price guide is now falsed because the price I read is not the price
I get.
Since bricklink knows where I live, and it puts me the price in the convenient
local currency, I believe they should as soon as possible add the option to add
or remove the VAT additional price to the final price I read in the price guide.

I am very annoyed today.
This VAT collecting change is really pushing people away from BL...

Is there anywhere to change the settings for the notice sellers receive when
an order is placed in their store?

I don't need an email for every order placed. I check Bricklink every day
for new orders to pack and ship. Having dozens of emails in my inbox just to
tell me an order was placed is not helpful - it increases the chance of missing
an actual communication.

Also, is there a way to send a different notice when an order is placed that
doesn't use instant check out? Because in that case I do want to see it immediately
to calculate shipping and send the invoice.

…If the seller opts into it of course. I’m sure many sellers also order for themselves,
but 9/10 orders I place are solely for relisting on my own store. It would be
nice to have a part out option like for new sets rather than have to open each
item in a tab and list them.

Just a thought.

Incomplete sets listed are becoming more and more of an annoyance, for me at
least.

There are now numerous set entries where "new incomplete sets" take up the entire
landing page - or more. A lot of these consist of so few parts I feel they should
be in a different category (76125 is a good example dum-e and extinguisher are
+/- 20 parts in a set of 524 parts only 4% of the set)

OR

Is there a way to filter them out completely? The only option I can find is "exclude
from my price guide"

Also are they included in "6 month average"? if so that is a major concern

Surely New/Incomplete is intended for missing instructions/stickers/box not 96%
of the set!

If you are trying to complete a project and you have most of the parts and you
filter a store by wanted list you have to sift through pages and pages of already-owned
parts and look for the little red numbers that indicate you still need some.
It would be neat if I could filter just by parts on a wanted list that I don't
already have.

I ran an Auto-Select search yesterday and it suggested me to create a cart with
24 lots in a store that has a maximum lot limit of 20 lots. This required me
to manually remove items from the suggested cart and find them in other stores
I already had a suggested cart with.

I was able to find a solution without having to fiddle too much this time but
it wasn't very practical.

Currently, when an Administrator or a Moderator posts to the Forum, there is
no obvious way to tell if they are posting their own opinion as a member, or
if they are posting in their official capacity.

Please enhance the Forum so that Admins and Mods will have to specify if they
are posting officially, and to make that clear to the other members. If a post
if not marked as an official post, then they are posting as to their own personal
input/opinion. The two should be kept apart from one another.

Hello!

In Bricklink, when you are looking at your wanted list, it can be sorted 4 ways:
Newest, Alphabetically, Lots, & Completion. When adding an item to a wanted list,
it shows in order of creating list from top (oldest) to bottom (newest). Could
a feature be added to custom sort the wanted lists?

Possibly by clicking an "Edit" button, and then dragging around the lists. It
would also show "Custom" in the Sort By tab.

I suggest this.

What if someone gets his buying privileges revoked, you remove all of their negative/neutral
feedbacks as a buyer?
And what if someone gets his selling privileges revoked you remove all of their
negative/neutral feedbacks as a seller?

I had an open order with a problem buyer who later got his privileges revoked.
I have an opened NSS because he states that he didn't receive some items.
This person lost the paypal claim and then put a revenge negative feedback on
me, because he feels he's got nothing to lose anymore so he can try to steal
some money out of good sellers.

I didn't get a neutral/negative since years, now this user spoils the whole
thing.. It's very bad.

If they weren't allowed to cause this harm, that would be better for everyone.

I have a special shipping policy for items under ¼in which minifigures do not
qualify for, but it was offered to one of my buyers because the following minifigure
doesn't have any packing dimension:

Minifig No: tlm072 Name: Emmet - Wide Smile with Teeth and Tongue
*
tlm072 (Inv) Emmet - Wide Smile with Teeth and Tongue
Minifigures: The LEGO Movie

In the order page, the dimensions for the minifigure are indicated as "0x0x0"
which is under ¼in but it isn't correct.

Please ignore (=fail) size conditions in shipping policies for items missing
these dimensions.

Would it help anyone else to have photos included of the back of built sets?
Also to add front and back photos of the box? Sometimes I just Need to glance
at the back of the set instead of going to its part list and scrolling.

Hello,

As a buyer, when the seller did not enable the "Onsite Payment" yet the payment
is still done through Paypal, it would be nice to have the possibility to include
the Paypal Transaction ID when marking the order as "Paid".

Is this something conceivable ?

The [import cart] feat currently is flawed. Didn't tell if something is missing
during import.

Make a message box with missing items please.
Or a preimport step where you see what is avaible, what not, and qty, and you
can proceed.
e.g. Apply order has a nice verification step where you can even change qty,
too!

Also, fix the counting. See pic. What does 6/25 means?
my carts had 28 lots, 78 parts, and 28/28 got imported. definitely not 6/25

This suggestion is an attempt to solve multiple different problems. It is a request
for an enhancement of an existing BrickLink feature (onsite payment). The requested
feature would be available to any onsite seller if they enable it on their BrickLink
dashboard. The existing method of doing onsite payments would still be supported,
and would be the default for new/existing sellers.

For many years, refunding a PayPal payment would only cost the seller the fixed
part (for US sellers that was 30-cents). About a year back, PayPal changed their
refund model, such that none of that fee is being returned. Any refund (full
or partial) is entirely funded by the seller. If you have to cancel an order,
the PayPal/Stripe fees have become a cost of doing business.

When a card is charged (regardless of an actual card, an existing balance transfer,
or an ACH transfer) it is actually a 2-step (authorization, then capture) being
handled as a 1-step request to the payment service. Both PayPal and Stripe support
payments as a 2-step service[4]. The first step is the authorization to pay (which
invokes a temporary hold on the funds) and the second step is capturing the funds.

Implementing as a 2-step payment capture requires the seller to review the transaction,
then click a button to invoke the capture. The capture must be done within the
time period that the payment service is holding the authorization active. That
is 3-days (72 hours) for PayPal[3] and 7-days (168 hours) for Stripe. Once the
capture has been done, you are ready to print postage and ship the order.

There is nothing that prevents you from filling the order, during the authorization
period, should you wish to do so. The only requirement is that the capture occur
before preparing for shipment, and before the authorization has expired.

What does 2-step accomplish for sellers ? PayPal charges a 30-cent fee for 'Uncaptured
Authorization Transactions' [1][2]. That is the basic fixed part of the
fee. They do not charge the variable part unless the capture happens. The variable
fee is normally the larger part. Sellers can review the transaction and decide
if they can successfully fulfill it, including reviewing the address for incomplete
addresses and destinations they may not wish to ship to. This negates the need
for BrickLink to implement special code concerning certain countries (e.g. AUS
which currently has a mail stop) or certain forwarding services. The seller would
simply allow the authorization to elapse (for PayPal or Stripe) or could click
the 'Release' button at Stripe (to release the hold prior to 7 days).

Additional possibilities - Both services allow (via the API calls) to actually
capture a smaller amount that the one authorized. That means that shortages could
be accounted for prior to capturing the payment (and negating the need for a
partial refund). It also means that shipping over-estimates could be modified
downwards. These are only possibilities that the API supports, not specifically
part of this suggestion.

More thinking - By splitting the authorization from the capture, the door begins
to open for order additions, and a single payment (more than one authorization,
but a single final capture for the entire amount of the order). This will require
careful thought. The existing 1-step paradigm, when combined with the fees overhead,
is why IC cannot handle order additions. This might, with careful planning, make
that work.

Other comments - From BrickLink's perspective, an authorized, but not captured,
payment would be similar to what we have today with a PayPal eCheck. The payment
is in-flight, but not ready to ship at this time. It is remotely possible that
a card that has been authorized, might be canceled, prior to the capture. That
is most likely when a large number of atypical transactions cause the card issuer's
AI system to flag it as potential fraud. So there are remote instances where
a successful authorization might lead to a capture that fails (which is similar
to an eCheck that never arrives). But then, if you were using a 1-step, you might
ship before the fraud detectors fired, which isn't a happy situation.

Closing - This is not a small suggestion, this is likely a large undertaking.
The potential for improving BrickLink is worth it.

[1] That is for the PayPal US market region. Sellers in other markets may want
to see what that amount is on their PP fee schedule. The implication is that
this specific fee is only charged if the authorization succeeds, then expires
without a capture.

[2] a similar fee is not specifically disclosed in the Stripe documentation,
but I suspect it would be competitive with PayPal.

[3] PayPal actually permits multiple 3-day authorizations within a ~28 days window,
but that is outside the scope of this suggestion. 3-days should be a reasonable
period for most sellers (to review and capture)

Hi,

I've been browsing the site for a while now and feel it would be easier if
there were able to set or save some settings in the following areas - or if I
just can't find the settings please let me know where they are.

1) Default Wanted List "Sort By" option
Can this please be set somewhere? It defaults to "Newest", but I prefer it in
"Alphabetical" and change it everytime I go to that page, could the website have
the option to set a default for this somewhere (and other options like order)
or remember the last order setting maybe?

2) My Search Settings - Locations
Can this include setting a default "Seller Location"? e.g. At the moment I want
to limit sellers to being in the UK, but I have to click "more options" and then
select UK every time I search for an item, can this default be set somewhere?

3) Settings as for 2) above for "Easy Buy". i.e. I have a wanted list that I'd
only like to get fulfilled by sellers in the UK (or maybe set to Europe or Anywhere
at some point, by default seems to be anywhere?). Perhaps this could be in the
wanted list settings, so in theory the user could have different want lists with
different easy buy locations.

Again, I apologise if I've missed these settings somewhere, but I feel I've
looked everywhere for them and cannot seem to see how to set these anywhere?

Regards,
smc007i

Why does color sorting at order details
sort differently to color sorting of
wanted list entries?

Each time I want to adapt wanted lists to orders,
this means lots of scrolling and turning pages.

Most eCommerce sites we use here in the UK ask us to confirm we have read and
accept the terms and conditions of the site when we are placing an order. Bricklink
currently does not - it just previews those terms,. Should we have a checkbox
which is mandatory so that buyers confirm their acceptance. Might help if and
when there are disputes

Backstory: Instant Checkout (IC) has been a boon for BL, for sellers, and for
buyers. Prior to IC, buyers could request, and sellers could respond to quote
requests (QR). IC and QR are mutually exclusive, You can have one or the other,
but not both.

One of the things that QR permits (although obliquely) is the ability to tacitly
decline an order. That happens when a seller fails to respond to the QR within
three days. Buyers can also decline a completed QR, by not paying for three days.
If either party fails to perform within their three day window, the QR fails,
is terminated, and there is no residual baggage (in either direction). It is
a potential-order, which never happened.

That last bit was lost with Instant Checkout. Buyers have the full opportunity
to review seller's terms, and to see the automated shipping costs. That should
be sufficient for the buyer to complete all due diligence. Unfortunately not
all buyers pay attention to seller's terms, and/or try to place special terms
upon the order (via the comments field). They do not give the seller the opportunity
to decline the order (for whatever reason), and the ability to leave feedback
(i.e. residual baggage) is automatically created, even if the seller OCRs the
order and refunds the payment.

Suggestion: Give the seller the optional capability to review all incoming IC-based
orders, and either accept or decline the order. Declining the order would have
the same effect as not responding to a QR, plus it will generate an automatic
refund. Not selecting one or the other for three days, would have the same effect
as declining it. Accepting an order, would be invisible to the buyer, and the
seller would proceed exactly as they do today. The difference in this, is that
a declined order would not leave either party with the ability to drop feedback
(which is where many problems have happened as of late). It would restore the
seller's ability to control order flow.

Thank You

Would it be possible to get an option to sort Order Details by Condition, then
by Remarks. New and used parts are always packed separately (unless I suppose
a buyer says they don't care), so I pick New first, then used, or vice
versa. On very large orders, I have to download the details into a spreadsheet
and force this sort order myself, but it seems like an easy change for Bricklink
to implement, and something that more than a few users would find useful. Thank
you.

I suggest this:
Make an archive for wantedlists,
Let us move lists to the archive of wantedlists.
This means those are no longer searched for
This means also no clutter in buy.page, no highlight when in store, etc

Pro:
- more speed of search, because less lists, less items
- less server load, because at this time i see users do a search, deflag some
lists and redo the search, that is a double op
- solves all users asking an option to "disable" lists: this does the job for
them
- easy implementation: can be just a new sql table with same columns as current
one. Archiving is moving rows there. No need to change all sql in all site

Hello!
I was looking for some decorated tiles in the [parts] section to insert them
in my wanted list.
In the "tiles, decorated" folder there are a lot of tiles that are printed and
many others that are with a sticker on it: I would like to know if it's possibile
to implement a function to opt-out the ones with a sticker, or to make some quick
workaround to view only the ones without (e.g. search for "(stickers)" and then
invert the selection).

Thank you for all the work behind already excellent Bricklink platform, and for
your attention.

As I seem to experience a bit of slow sales the last couple of days, the repeating
question comes up once again: is there a global analytics dashboard where one
can view some statistics, like the number of order per day.
I don't think there is, but surely in these days of data and numbers, it's
not that hard to come up with? And it would offer a great insight for sellers,
even greater when we would have the possibility to filter on country, compare
the same month over different years, and so on. But just an overall historic
overview of daily orders would be great!

Hi all,

Just had this random idea - an option to hide all the sensitive information on
the order detail page. Could help with content creators showing the content of
orders without revealing the relevant addresses. Could this be integrated with
a minimize/drop-down button?

Anyway, just a random thought

While adding some lots to my inventory, I came across part [P=3069bpb0266,1]
When setting the price to the average sold price last 6 months, it said € 0.65
I found that odd for that part. So I had a look at the selling history. All parts
that were sold, sold between € 0.10 and € 0.20, with a few lower and higher.
But one big exception: one sold for € 12.00
When I wouldn't have spot this, I would have overpriced my part and have
sent it to the end of the list, risking a low chance of actually selling.

Although mathematical correct, I feel the average value is not a trustworthy
way to set the pricing of items for sale. This effect is true for the other way
around: an extremely low price (maybe for an item that was faulty or what not)
will take the average value down a lot.

A good metric to add, would be the median price. When 100 items were sold, the
median value would be the price of the 50th one in the list of sales (from low
to high).

This has nothing to do with "the race to the bottom" of prices, or anything
like that. I don't want to offer the lowest prices, but I don't want
to overprice either. That's exactly why the median value is better indication
of value.

WDYT?
