Maybe everyone receiving the email should email them on that email address, so
they know the extent of the problem they have caused today.

If everyone would do that, they will overlook more serious messages.
I didn't receive a reply so far on the UK order problem I mailed to the above
address.
probably because after my message, they received thousands about the EU VAT mail
yesterday.

Hopefully they will notice quicky and then send an apology email to all affected
saying that this message was sent by mistake. If they leave it for a few days
without acknowledging it, then more people will ask them why.

I reported it .. and got this reply. They are saying it is fake/phishing. So
it looks another security breach as it appears to have come from a bricklink
server.

Thank you for bringing the email to our attention.

Unfortunately, that email was a fake/phishing email and not something released
officially by Lego/BrickLink. We're currently investigating the cause of
the email and would appreciate any additional information you might have about
it; including a screenshot of it and the address the email was sent from.

Sure... it only originated from the same network, passes spam checks, has no
spoofed links, contains my personal settings, has BL IP addresses in it, and
used the exact same mail server (same version).

This is very well faked and completely pointless or it came from BL because
someone made a mistake. The only other option is that someone has local network
access and likes sending emails to show of, I guess?

I'd be less worried if they said it was sent in error.

  Received a message from
A-STAGE-W1 SQL Server

Saying my store was closed since I hadn't logged in for 3 days.

Store is not closed, and I log in daily.

Anyone else get this message.

Just a glitch or a hack, or ???

Jim
Bricks2you

Bricklink have confirmed it is a fake / phishing attempt.

I think BL and Lego should reduce the number of orders for the Castle in the
forest so that ppl who ordered, say more than 2 or 1, will have their order reduced
to 2 if not 1. That way, there should be some left for Round 1 in August for
those who did not get it. (And those unconscionable scalpers on ebay, you can
end your auctions on ebay!)

How would you feel if you placed an order for 100 of part A and 100 of part B
with a bricklink seller, then they cancelled 80 of part A and 80 of part B because
some other buyers asked if they could buy some.

  Thanks Erikk,

Ive been a buyer for the last ten years on BL (Ive registered to sell but havent
set my store up properly yet.)

I am very used to where to find things and would hate for the platform to be
changed too much. I hate it when other sites (like lego and the well known auction
site) keep on changing things which reduces the functionality on one page.

I hope that any changes improve the functionality rather than make it so its
harder to find things.

Thanks my two cents worth.

Cheers

Yogi

This is the dilemma they have. Do they try to attract new buyers that have, for
whatever reason, not already joined BL or do they retain features that existing
users know how to use. If XP and tge dumbed down catalogue is what happens when
they try to attract new users, they could lose existing users but not attract
new users.

A long term existing huyer only is probably no better than a long term existing
seller only or seller + buyer when it comes to features needed to attract new
buyers.
