I recently purchased a group of older Lego sets including some castle sets.
It was someone's childhood collection. The sets were mostly complete, some
missing a few small parts. Boxes and instructions in good shape. Sold a set
and the buyer thought two 8x16 base plates looked like they were cut from a 16x16
plate. Sent a partial refund but not fully convinced this was the case as when
I inventoried the set nothing jumped out at me as being wrong. I guess the question
is were the older base plates cut/manufactured differently than newer ones?

Just received an order of new parts that were supposed to go into my inventory.
The seller probably tried to be helpful and stacked almost all the parts.
I don't feel I can sell them now as new.

What are your thoughts?

Hello,
I have adding quite a few parts over the last few days, and it seems to take
too long.
Any tips on sorting these parts and cataloging them?
I currently am just adding them into brickstore and mass upload-ing.
Thanks,

With just over a couple of weeks to go until 1st July, it would be useful to
know Bricklink's IOSS VOEC, ABN numbers etc in advance, so sellers can set
up electronic customs/CN22 values in advance, rather than leaving it to the last
minute.

So I have used brickstock for years to make mass loads into my inventory. Worked
fine yesterday, today it is not pulling in the data from bricklink on the items
I add.

Read that it is no longer being supported, so figured it was time to upgrade.
Downloaded brickstore, but when I try to open it, I just get a blank white screen.
Anyone else have that issue (Win10 X86)?

Is there any other inventory management programs that sellers recommend?

Thanks for looking.

Since some months or a year ago I have been noticing that some parts feel the
same, newer ones have a matte finish (or not shiny?) and weight less.

For example:

Part No: 32184 Name: Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Perpendicular 3L with Center Pin Hole
*
32184 Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Perpendicular 3L with Center Pin Hole
Parts: Technic, Connector {Black}

Left matte weights 0.57g
Right shiny weights 0.64g

So be careful if you weight them to count... the difference could be big.

PD: Someone posted in the forum some time ago a huge difference in weight between
two 100u bags of the same part, but couldn't find it to reply now.

This time, it's a 9v train controller and some track. I don't have a
9v train motor or even a voltmeter, so I don't know if the controller works.
The track is dark gray. Message me if you are interested. I will ship anywhere
in the USA for free. If you are not in the USA, feel free to message me anyway
and maybe we can work something out (through BrickLink, of course).

Hi all.
I 've now (after buying a few missing parts) got complete 10188 set, boxed
with instructions and all it's internal boxes.
I'm a bit miffed I can't find any resources allowing me to recreate the
original boxes - as in which pieces go in Boxes 1 - 4 (an the internal bags etc.)
Does anyone know of anywhere were this information might be held ?

Hi everyone,

6044 kings carriage. My box that I have is different than what Bricklink shows.
Box that I have has piece count(120) printed and royal knights shield with lion
head printed next to the set number right upper corner. Any insight or comments
much appreciated. Thank you

I noticed something while looking at the Minifigure, Weapon Gun, Blaster Long
(SW). This piece isn't used in any sets except Star Wars sets. Why does lego
not use Star Wars guns in other lego sets? The Minifigure, Weapon Gun, Blaster
Long (SW) would make a great sniper rifle. I'm curious why they would limit
these great pieces to just one theme.

Hi smart heads,
When I check the value of a set for part out I'm always intrigued by the
My Inventory Average, especially the part that tells the number of parts & lots
that I don't have in my store inventory (first screen).

What I tried myself is the "parts from set" function in the extended inventory
search (second screen). When I click Go, I get a list of all parts from my inventory
that also are in the set I'm searching for, but it's not what I want!

Is there a way to find out what those missing 164 items in 53 lots (in my example)
are? Bricklink seems to know, but how can I get access to this data?

I'm thinking of making a wanted list for the complete set and then 'subtract'
the parts that I own in my store inventory from it.
Would that be possible in some way or another? Perhaps by making a combination
of exporting and then reimporting XML files but I don't know how.
There must be a way - at least I hope so

Thanks to anyone who can shine a light upon this.

So here's a bit of a pedantic question...

I'm trying to get all the missing pieces together for my Death Star 10188-1

This set has both 48729 and 48729b in the parts list.

I keep trying to buy part 48729 but being sent 48729b - is there actually a difference
(except for a hole in 48729b) or can they be interchanged ??

Hi,

Quick question to this group...

Apparently there are some changes to the EU VAT legislation with regards to E-commerce
or web shops.

From the 1st of July, when you operate an e-commerce business with generated
income of over 10.000€, you will need to charge the VAT rate of the country of
which you are selling to.

Eg. I sell over 10K€ per year. If I sell (based in Belgium) to France, I will
need to apply the French VAT rate on my order instead of the Belgian VAT rate.

Selling platforms like E-bay, Amazon, Bol.com and therefor in my opinion, BL
as well, will need to enable this way of invoicing.

Do any of you guys or girls know more about this?

I am including a link, if this is allowed?
https://business.trustedshops.nl/blog/btw-in-e-commerce
https://www.emerce.nl/achtergrond/nieuwe-btwregels-ecommerce-actiepunten-ondernemers

Kind regards,

Nick

Looking for views on collectable minifigures.

I have a large number of these, estimated at 1000+ in new condition, plus others
in used.

These are from nearly all series so far including series 1 unopened and opened
Team GB.

Just accumulating them at present.

Too many to check individually on the sales info, certainly at the moment for
me due to relocation.

Do these still sell well ?

May start listing some when I reopen in 2022.

Dear Bricklink Admins

I am worried and hope you can help me.
I have just visited the new Bricklink R3 Website and I have a few questions about
this future website.

Altough it looks visually very pleasing, I hvae two concerns / questions.

What happenes to the other 2 Categories Gears / Catalogs? Are they going to be
deleted? Will it be not anymore possible to buy old OFFICIAL Lego catalogs on
Bricklink?

Secondly, are you going to delete the Sub-Themes /Sub-Categories?
There is only castle and all castle sets cannot anymore be divided in sub-categories,
which was very handy in order to find certain sets?

Is this just an early version of the upcoming website or are these the final
changes?
I really hope Bricklink won't lose that much of information, possibilities
and content!

With the kindest regards
Barthon

Just put together 6076... dismantled, and tried again.. and no matter what I
keep ending up with one leftover 1x2 black.

I know one of them is a spare for the horse if you have the saddle, but I just
can't see it on these pixely old pdf instructions.

With new Lego sets each page tells you which bricks you need, but of course the
older sets didn't and are more challenging sometimes because of that.

Anyone know where I can find step by step which bricks are needed per page?

I've come across virtual simulators for some sets but not all.

Any help is always appreciated!

Hello everyone,

how do you define MISB?
I ordered something where the seller described it as MISB and I got the item
today with price stickers all over the box. I would never consider this MISB
even though the box itself is in very good shape. Based on the fact that there
are stickers on it and I can not remove them without damaging the item, I feel
MISB is the wrong description.

Am I too harsh here?

Thanks

Set No: 2586 Name: King & Throne (Chess King)
*
2586-1 (Inv) King & Throne (Chess King)
21 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 1998
Sets: Castle

The one at the bottom of the price list. I know that every seller can ask whatever
they want, but that one seems a bit high.

Hey all,

Is there a way to view your inventory so it gives you statistics such as what’s
sold the most / least etc.

As always, thanks in advance.

Today I made an order of 5 minifigs in a Bricklinkshop.

A few hours later I saw an order cancellation without any communication.

All 5 minifigs were cancelled due to the fact they all are sold at Ebay!
All! Not only 1 but all 5.
Too much of a coincidence in my opinion, you can forget about 1 minifig but 5!
I guess he found the price he asked too low although he himself had them on sale
for 15% discount.
So how can you discount them quite recently and than forgot to take them out
of your inventory when you sell them on Ebay...

Is it possible to start an NSS in this case?

Thanks for reading and for the possible help I receive.

I have the train 12v replacement motor item No x551. According to item info this

80s. Should item info be updated or?

Hi,

I have been sent payment from a buyer and for the last 2 days it has been sat
at 'pending' with an estimated fee that paypal will take off it.
Does anybody know how long it takes for the pending to go to completed? the amount
has not appeared on my paypal balance.
I have emailed the buyer to ask him how he paid etc but he has not responded
back to me, I've also searched on paypal but couldn't find anything related
to this.
I'm not going to send the order until it completes but also don't want
the buyer to be waiting too long for it either.

Many thanks.

Hi, I need to find part 2040 in Fabuland Brown.
I'm afraid there is a mistake in B.L inventories and this part does not exist
in Fabuland Brown color.
I bought one and received the part in the middle of the picture: it's in
Fabuland Orange color.
I checked with another 2 sellers and they also have this part in Fabuland Orange
although it was listed as Fabuland Brown.
My question is if there's anybody here who has this part in Fabuland Brown
and can upload here the picture?
Thanks in advance,
Yoav

Today I ordered a reel of electronics parts from a major US distributor. The
item was tagged DISCONTINUED, represented about 40% of a full reel, and I placed
a note that a shortage was acceptable. The parts cost ~$0.003/each. They notified
me that the order would be 1 short, and as the item was DISCONTINUED they would
be unable to supply it. Had the online quantity not been set to zero, I wasn't
sure if they canceled the entire order or not.

So the things we deal with here, happen elsewhere as well ... not just at BL
!

I've been on Bricklink for probably over 11-12 years now. For maybe only
a quarter of that time I've been a seller and most of that time I've
been a buyer. One major issue that seems to span across each year quite frequently
is the amount of sellers who send out orders with missing/incorrect pieces.

Firstly, let me be clear. This isn't a "BrickLink sellers suck"/rant post,
this is about finding solutions to the current problem (most of which is based
on my experience as a seller/piece identifier). I've been very guilty of
this in the past and selling parts exclusively seems to result in the most errors,
so please don't take this as if I'm making out I'm any better of
a seller than any one else. I also want to get the natural responses and defence
cases out of the way too. I understand for most people, this is just their side
hustle. I understand most people aren't experts in lego colour/part identification.
I understand theres a lot of orders to go through. I understand we're all
human and make mistakes. These also ALL apply to me too, so I know. Anyway, enough
of the that, I want to discuss positive solutions!

For colour identification:
I use a white light lamp (any kind of non yellow, pale light or natural sun light
will work). Always keep two reliable references of either colour to hand as some
colours (especially from the mid 2000's) can be quite indistinct. I'm
mainly talking about light greys lol.

For Part identification:
Take the time to check if your part has any sibling moulds or similar variants
before listing. This can literally be the difference between a part worth 0.01
and 2.00.

Before sending out:
ALWAYS check your orders twice before sending to a customer. from my experience
most people value quality over Amazon level delivery time. E.g. whats the point
in me getting my order within two days if half the pieces I need are incorrect.
So a big thing of note here is DO NOT put pressure on yourself to be super duper
fast at posting if you know you might get an order wrong. Advertise that, to
guaranty the best possible service you'll take a day or so the check the
order before shipping. (I have a four day rule before I HAVE to post an order
just in case).

For now, that's all I want to say. Thank you to everyone I've ever ordered
from for making all my lost pieces reappear over the years haha. And please remember,
this is to save you as much hassle as the buyer. Nobody wants to loose out on
refunds.

If anyone else has any tips on the matter, please post them below!!

I'm curious how everyone establishes their cost basis for the parts in their
inventory. For example, do you just take the cost of the set divided by the number
of parts? Do you establish higher values for minifigures or motors?

How do you track the rolling inventory value?

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to learn what you do and what you
consider the pros & cons of your accounting system for parts.

Thanks!

Just seems silly to stop list someone in such a situation. Curious about others

I'd love to get feedback on my splash page from buyers at Bricklink. I'd
like to understand a little bit of what's going through your mind if I made
the splash page the default tab when a buyer comes to my store.

The first 10 users to let me know their thoughts in this thread will receive
a 10% off coupon to my store.

Primarily, I'm looking for feedback on if the splash page makes you want
to stay on my store and shop or if it's annoying and you want to leave and
go to another store right away.

To participate:

1. Navigate to https://store.bricklink.com/ralphs_bricks&utm_content=globalnav#/splash
2. Come back and reply to this message with your thoughts and feedback.
3. I'll issue you a coupon whether the feedback is good or bad

Sincerely,

Hello lego fans.

New to the forum and would appreciate some advice please.
I have over the years accumulated lots of 12v classic track for a layout I will
soon start building.

Wasn't apparent unit I just cleaned all the track the various degrees of
colour discolouration.
Sleepers are ok, just the rails.

Any recommendations on how I can clean all the track and preserver the original
colour.

Ok, so I was wondering if theres a collectors desire for manufacture error parts.
I know that prints on the wrong colour pieces are deffo desirable but what I
currently have are parts that the plastic either didn't quite fill up the
whole mould or seem to have been melted(?) during the manufacturing process.

Any thoughts or are they just trash?

I have decided to open my store again which specialises in part kits and spares
and or repairs items.

My headline offer is the original space shuttle (8480) in fair condition and
with about 98% of parts, all motors worked when I dismantled it as did fibre
optics.

If you need any obscure parts send me a message, star wars, city, technic, thousands
of mainly small parts.

enjoy the shop if you visit, all parts not inventoried due to there being so
many, that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

I'm just wondering if anyone can give me any advice if they've had a
similar problem.
A few years ago I bought a box of very old lego and I'm currently trying
to split it into sets to sell on Bricklink. Most of the sets are much older than
me, so I don't know any of them very well.

Basically it's a medium sized box of random parts from someone's collection,
the problem is that I'm really struggling to form incomplete sets from the
parts, as it seems that there is no more than 50% of any set.

For example I have a boat, which I believe is from set 314 (1976) because of
the stickers attached, but not many of the other pieces.
I also have one of the big red boat pieces from set 7244 (2005) and the sticker
sheet, but not many other pieces.
I also have lots of pirate minfigs, some of which I think have come from set
6258 (1992), but I'm really struggling to tell what set these come from as
lots of the pirates are present in multiple sets.

What I'm trying to ask is, does anyone have any experience with a similar
issue and if so do you think it would be better for me to continue trying to
split the box into sets, or should I sell the pieces all together in one big
bundle? Has anyone got tips for sorting used lego into sets?

Any advice is really appreciated, and I can provide photos if anyone is interested?
Many thanks, Stan.

I started listing and selling here on Bricklink this year and it has been fun
to see where LEGO came from when it was my toy as a child 35 years ago.
I started buying sets, parting them out, filling up drawers and boxes and listed
it here.
Now sales are picking up and I am always sad to see some of the parts go and
some of the boxes getting empty. I know it is a great problem to have, but it
is also sad

I know I am weird, but am I the only one?

Did LEGO originally mean for the light gray knight to be a blue knight?

Light gray was not a very normal color back then, but black, white, red and blue
were.
The castle is yellow, the light gray is used for helmets, weapons, shields and
vests.

The other visors are different from their light gray helmets, but are the same
color as the knights outfits.
White knight, white suit and white visor, red knight red suit and red visor,
black knight, black suit and black visor , blue knight, blue suit and light gray
visor???

This question came up recently again as I am going through my yellow castle sets
again.

And to give maybe a bit of evidence, here is an old picture of said knight.

What do you think?

Hey everybody, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to remove
the marker on these Clone Troopers that I recently purchased off eBay.

Thanks,

I'm trying to build some micro custom sets of buildings around my town (like
the Lego Architecture series) and am wondering if there's a good place for
me to ask for assistance.

If this is the place, then specifically, I'm looking for some help finding
a piece (or collection of pieces) to construct this glass cone
