28th of May I ordered at this shop, the same day I received the invoice and I
paid immediately. And status changed automatically to ready.

But 31st of May they closed the shop, there was no reason given, nor an end date
of closure. So how do I know if my order will be send to me?

Sellers occasionally close their shop to catch up on orders or for other reasons.
I wouldn't be too worried. Has the seller shipped the order yet? It's
been more than two weeks. If not, I would send them a message.

Been there done that. Unfortunately, that's not really the way things
work around here. As Jen said, most stores here are run by individuals in their
own spare time, not large corporations with paid employees like the LEGO Group.
So, a cancelled order and the labor associated with it is much more costly to
a BrickLink store than say, TLG or Amazon. In fact, section 7.1 of the Terms
of Service explicitly states that no longer wanting the items is not a valid
reason to cancel an order, except where local law allows. I'm not sure what
the law is for Canada: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/terms_of_service.page

We had a buyer leave us great and positive written feedback, but accidentally
chose "neutral" instead of "positive" feedback as the radio button. They are
a first time buyer. Any way to modify this to be a positive?

We contacted the seller and they confirmed it was an accident, but this affects
the store and would like it changed.

Thanks!

This is the reason that I am personally in favor of eliminating the neutral feedback
option. I think that many new BrickLink users do not understand the connotation
of non-positive feedback on BrickLink and/or post neutral feedback by mistake.
I have seen neutral feedback that says things like "got exactly what I ordered".

I’ve never sold a used set before, and could use some advice.

I just scored Hogwarts Castle (4842) at a yard sale, and put it together only
to discover that it’s missing a few pieces (mostly basic stuff, but also two
of the owls, a rat, and some roof pieces) and half the minifigs (missing Harry,
Hermione, Voldemort, and the dementors), plus a few pieces broke during assembly
(which is a new one for me, I’d never seen a 2x8 plate snap)... I kept a list
of what I’m missing, but am not sure what to do with it. Is it better to try
to buy replacements for all the missing/broken parts, or to sell it as-is with
a list of what’s missing? And should I leave it assembled when I sell it?

Thanks!

Nice find!

Some enjoy completing sets, but if you're just looking to get the most bang
for your buck, then you'll have to do a bit of analysis. How much did you
buy it for? Make a wanted list with all of the missing pieces and play around
with the Easy Buy/Buy All page to get an idea of how much it would cost to complete
the set. Then look at some of the used listings and try to determine whether
or not it would be worth it to complete the set or sell it as is. And I would
definitely disassemble the set before you ship it; I have never had anyone try
to ship me a used set assembled before (except for stickered assemblies, of course).

I hope that helps!

Well, I found that menu, but at least it does not act on "easy buy", but this
is, what you mentioned already. The instant checkout is also ineffective. I am
surprised, that "easy buy" is so inconvenient or nobody likes to use this
quite good function.

Best regards and thank you for your support.
Joerg

Hello Joerg,

The problem with the "Easy Buy" function is that there are no filters/parameters.
All you can do is click "Easy Buy" and it selects stores for you, from anywhere
in the world and regardless of whether or not the store offers instant checkout.
This makes the feature quite useless in my opinion. However, the wanted list
buy page that SylvainLS mentioned is essentially the same thing if you use the
"Auto-Select" feature, but it allows you filter stores by location, whether or
not they accept instant checkout, etc. This is much more useful in my opinion.

As a side note, the instant checkout filter will filter out stores that do not
accept instant checkout, but that does not necessarily mean that you will actually
be able to check out with instant checkout. For example, I used to have a weight
limit of 16 ounces for instant checkout orders, so my store would show up in
the list if you applied the instant checkout filter, but if your order was over
16 ounces, shipping would show up as TBD and you would not be able to use instant
checkout. Other stores only offer instant checkout for orders under/over a certain
value or only to certain countries.

And you replied explaining about Store Filters and "Instant checkout". Well,
this is a perfect answer I guess and would support also my issue I have with
"Easy Buy". But even checking for weeks the "My BL", I do not have any clue where
to find such entry. Would you be so kind to explain, where I can find this entry?

The filters are on the Buy page: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page
, the link is in the Want menu / heart-shaped icon on every page, or if you click
Buy when looking at a Wanted List (not EasyBuy on the list of Wanted Lists).

You’ll need to click the “Expand” link next to the phrase “Store Filters” to
see those filters.

See this help page https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2445 it has pictures
and explanation for the basics.
Feel free to explore and click here and there, nothing bad will happen

And, of course, come back here if you have any other question.

China want to crack down which is why cryptos tanked in price recently. Other

I speculate on crypto to ride the hype and make some money, absolutely. Do I
"believe" in it as a currency replacement, absolutely not.

While I agree with you in that cryptocurrencies are kind of shady, not all governments
are cracking down on them. In fact, the U.S. Federal Reserve is considering creating
a digital currency of its own:

https://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/what-is-a-central-bank-digital-currency.htm

While I am not a financial expert and I don't fully understand what the differences

cosmicray is suggesting is that far-fetched.

Or should I/can I create a second account just for purchasing reasons?

Thank

No need to create a second BrickLink and/or PayPal account to buy while traveling
abroad. On step two of the checkout process, simply replace the shipping address
with the address that you would like the package sent to. This will replace both
the BrickLink address and the PayPal address with the new address. I believe
this only works for onsite payment, but since you are in Washington, as state
that collects sales tax, then I believe onsite payment is your only option, anyway.

Hello, I have been waiting for this order for almost two months, I have already
sent several emails to the seller to find out where the order was, after one
month he has finally sent the order, and now it is soon 1 me that I am waiting
to receive it.

So my question is can we ask for the refund after all this time where do I have
to keep waiting again?

I'm sorry to hear that. Where is the seller located? I don't know how
long it takes to ship a package within France or the EU, but I do know that it
can take a while for packages to travel from North America to Europe.

Is the package tracked? In the United States, all packages are tracked, but I
know that package tracking is less common in Europe. If the package is tracked,
then you will be able to check its status (shipped, in transit, delivered, etc.)
using the tracking number.

If there is no tracking number and you are doubtful that the seller actually
shipped the order, then you can file a non-shipping seller alert (NSS) on BrickLink.
The seller will have to provide proof of shipping or else the order will be cancelled
after a certain period of time and you will be given a refund (at least that
is my understanding). You can file an NSS here: https://www.bricklink.com/retractOrder.asp

If the seller did ship the order and it still does not turn up after a while,
then I would follow Brickwilbo's advice and start a PayPal claim (if you
paid via PayPal). If you paid via IBAN or some other offsite payment method other
than PayPal, then unfortunately, I'm not sure that you have much recourse.

I hope that helps.

Go to your store settings under this shipping tab:

and click on a shipping method. Scroll down to where it says "Destination & Base
Rate" and add a new zone with the countries you would like to ship to. You can
add all of the countries to one zone, or you can split the countries among different
zones. If you have multiple shipping methods, you may have to do this multiple
times, once for each shipping method.

PAB can be hit or miss. It depends on the parts and how widely available they
are. For example, I distinctly remember the sand green explosion of 2016, PAB
had never carried that color and then they did and every single store got it,
there is still a backlog, it would take about 3 and a half years at current demand
levels for the parts listed to sell. I have also found 8 x 8 plates though in
tan which sell for over 75 cents and they can top off and they pay well. Sorry
for my rambling but essentially you have to know what to look for.

I figured as much. I know that the PAB wall varies from store to store, but I
purchased a bunch of parts from the PAB wall back in 2017 and I just sold the
last of them on Thursday. So, like you said, you've got to know what you
are doing to make it worthwhile.

As a side note, how many 8 x 8 plates can you fit in a large PAB cup? If my math
is correct, at $0.75 each, you would need 21-22 of them to cover the cost of
the cup. I assume that you fill the empty space with smaller parts?

Baseplates don't have bottom tubes, so you won't be able to use them
as roof plates as you are trying to do (hence the name baseplate). Instead,
what you need is a regular 16 x 16 plate:

  Hi everyone,

Just opened a store to learn how works, I have small inventory for now but trying
to learn how to setup settings, shipping terms etc.

Please if anybody have constructive advice to anyone opening a store, like essential
terms and policies etc that can help first starters let us know!!

I would appreciate if users check my store and also advise me on any recommendations!

I have seen great people here and hope this marketplace continues the same great
path that have been on.

Looks great! Just keep adding lots, and you'll be getting orders in no time!

I noticed that you have the following line (twice) in your shipping policy:

"After the shipment has been made, the seller is no longer responsible for damage
that may be caused to the product(s) during shipment unless the buyer purchased
shipping insurance before checkout."

This is not really enforceable if you accept payment via PayPal. I've been
fortunate that I've never had a package lost, stolen, or damaged during transit,
but it is my understanding that when it happens, PayPal holds the seller responsible
for either refunding the buyer or resending the goods, regardless of whether
or not the package was insured. The purpose of insurance is to cover the seller's
loss in such a situation, and there is no benefit to the buyer of purchasing
insurance.

Also, just wanted to add that I noticed that a lot of your parts come from the
Pick-A-Brick wall. You might want to shy away from that, as that tends to be
a pretty saturated market. Not an expert in this area, though.

The recent Batmobile set inspired me to do the same for Adam West's sweet
ride. As far as I could tell the original 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car was
white or possibly light pea soup green (it's hard to tell from the old photos).
I found lots of photos of people's own concepts cars in a rainbow of colors
and red looked the sharpest so I went with that.

Even though I tried to stay close to the original LEGO design, this project wasn't
as easy* as I initially thought it might be. I had to significantly rework the
front and back ends and raise the body by half a plate so the wheels would clear
the new wheel wells (the Batmobile added a fender whereas the original Futura
really didn't have much of one). Undoing the enormous rocket booster was
also a challenge.

I'm still not totally satisfied with the back end (I've tried a number
of variations), so if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. Overall
though it was a fun little distraction!

I haven't been around here nearly as long as you have, but I am certainly

I don't know where you got those stats from, but I disagree. Instant checkout
takes care of a lot of the non-paying buyers and while most buyers neglect to
leave feedback, that doesn't necessarily mean that they do not appreciate
the parts they receive.

For the last !!!! Thanks for enjoying having a place to get rare pieces at a

Please don't go!

  Good morning!

A customer is not satisfied of 3 items of his order.
For each item he emails quite blunt and rude, doing his complaint. In the last
email, he demands money back for the whole order. Then he files a NSS and a negative
review, my first 😇. He did all this in 2 hours, when I was asleep. Only in the
review he is mentioning, that he had received only 10% of the order.
Normally spoken, if there’s something wrong, I’ll resend or refund plus a bit
more, for the troubles of the customer, but now I think the customer is aiming
for free stuff. What would you guys do?

Good morning!

I'm sorry to hear that. It looks like this buyer has lodged a few (perhaps
unwarranted) complaints in the past. If you have proof of shipping, you should
be able to get the NSS removed, but I'm not sure about the negative feedback.
Maybe try reporting the member to the problem center:

https://www.bricklink.com/retractOrder.asp

Perhaps if enough people report the member, BrickLink will take action. Or maybe
not. I'm not sure how BrickLink handles these types of situations. Good luck!

Not in terms of bags or boxes, I mean how to pack them in terms of what you put

We are in the process of getting more bigger orders so in order to optimize picking,
I want to pick your brains on how you package items together or how you would
want them packaged if you bought from a store.

Thanks

Unpopular opinion here, but I bag each lot separately. It doesn't matter
if there is one part in the lot or 1000, it goes in its own bag. I do this because
as a buyer, I hate receiving lots bagged together because it requires extra work
to verify the contents of the order and I usually end up separating the lots
anyway using my own bags. However, I totally understand sellers that combine
lots in one bag to save money on plastic bags and reduce plastic waste.

Not that I know of with BrickLink. Maybe there is some third party software that

This has been the result of a party contest where you give all the kids a polybag
and see who can first build the simple model pictured, all without opening the
bag. Most often there's only a narrow clear stripe on the back where you
can see what you're doing.

We did this with a little boat with a guy in it like 30017. It was simple enough
to do without instructions. Love to try it with the 5-wide Elva, 30343, but you'd
definitely need a set of instructions to reference.

I love it. "Built once, never opened." Can't wait until people start doing
this with boxed sets.

Thanks for responding! Thousands of orders and this has never happened before.

Was it an instant checkout/instant invoice order? Or perhaps the buyer marked
the order as paid? Anyway, at the bottom of the order details page, there is
a button that says "edit order". Click on that and then next to "payment status"
select "none" from the drop-down menu. You should then be able to add a shipping
charge and send an updated invoice.

Click the little paper icon to the right of the order date. That will allow you
to send an invoice with the shipping cost included. I believe yours will not
have a check mark since you have not yet sent an invoice. Note that you may want
to credit them for the amount that they have already paid.

it any way possible to dabble with pre-existing Lego sets. e.g. Upload the Monster

to the scene?

My apologies if I sound optimistic about this because I haven't built any
legos in quite some time and when I heard of this online platform studio I admit
I gotten curious and I would like to know itmf I can add pre-existing sets to
the studio and build on them.

Thank you for reading this and taking the time to hear this silly newbies hopes
of messing with a virtual lego sandbox to create dioramas.

Sort of. You can import an official LEGO set into Studio, but it's not assembled.
On a Mac, the command to do so is File - Import - Import Official LEGO Set.
However, a great way to learn Studio would be to reconstruct existing LEGO sets.

By the way, there is a dedicated forum for Studio-related questions. It can be
accessed by hovering over the red Studio icon on the top of every page and clicking
on "Studio forum" or by going directly to https://forum.bricklink.com/ You will
probably have better luck getting your Studio questions answered there than here!

I don't know about Europe, but in the U.S., sales tax is based on the location
of the buyer. So, buyers in states that collect sales tax pay sales tax on everything
they buy, regardless of where it comes from.

It can take a while for BrickLink to process the paperwork new seller verification.
However, I was able to enter your store and your store terms and shipping policy
look okay. Try going to https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/management.page
Can you change your store status from "closed" to "open"?

what should i do to change the status from closed to open?

At the top of your store management page, there is a toggle switch that you can
use to open and close your store. After BrickLink has finished processing your
new seller verification, you will be able to change the status to "open". If
not, then you just have to wait.

This time, it's a 9v train controller and some track. I don't have a

The track is dark gray. Message me if you are interested. I will ship anywhere

Can anyone help me put it into words to help him.

The only thing that I can think of is that you have the "use invoice when order
cannot be placed with instant checkout" box checked in your store settings under
the management tab. This will not only allow buyers to request an invoice when
an item is missing packing weight and/or dimensions, but also when the order
doesn't fit the restrictions of any of the shipping methods you have set
up for instant checkout (too big, to heavy, etc).

I believe that the "request a quote" button will only show up at checkout if
the buyer has selected a shipping method that uses manual invoices. Otherwise,
the shipping cost will be shown to the buyer at checkout, so there is no point
in requesting a quote. So, perhaps mark one of the items that the buyer wants
as "manual only" in your inventory and hopefully that will allow the buyer to
request a quote at checkout.

  Hello,

thanks for the very good "Mass Feedback" function

But there is another suggestion for it:

If I have 50 orders to feedback, I must 50 times copy and paste the feedback.
Can Bricklink please add a master auto-input on this page.

As an Example: On the top is a master input field. After filling the master Input
Field and press a Button the input fields of the individual orders get all the
input from the master input field.

Kind Regards
Maico

What!? Copying and pasting feedback!? You don't take the time to craft feedback
specific to each and every individual order, reflect upon the transaction, it's
highs, it's lows, what was done well, what could have been done better, the
personality of the buyer/seller, and condense all of that into 80 characters?

You know what? Neither do I. Good suggestion.

how you end up with monsters such as

As for the inclusion of the word "electric", I think it has to do with the fact
that most (all?) items in the catalog have their category in their name, so all
parts in the Electric, Battery Box category have the terms "Electric, Battery
Box" in their name (although in this case, they are separated by a "9V"). Again,
the reason behind this probably has to do with searchability.

  Hi,

Are the Sales tax from BL/Paypal fees being charged separately?

Can someone please enlighten me on the additional fees we are seeing on Bricklink/Paypal
payment page,

We are noticing Paypal charges the Sales tax as a Partner Fee and an additional
Fee on the Order about 5% of order (which I am not seeing on the Bricklink account
fees page).

Also I noticed the Charges include Bricklink's Sales tax, is the Sales tax
getting charged twice? if so, do we need to make changes at the store front end
to fix this?

Also is there a difference in the fees when using Paypal vs Stripe?

Thanks for any help!

You don't need a PayPal account to request a quote, but you need one to pay
at most stores in the USA. However, some stores also accept card payments or
bank transfers. Check the store's terms to see which payment methods they
accept. As MrPetovan mentioned, it may also be possible to pay via PayPal using
just a card.

Customs forms are the worst, the small change doesn’t open to any scam I know
about, especially since they told you to keep the value and everything else intact.

I’m regularly receiving packages from Canada in the US, and the customs form
always look like:

1 x Building Toy

No matter the number of lots/parts and I’ve never been in trouble. Granted, it
is about a different country but it should be no different.

I don't know about other platforms, but when filling out a customs form on
PayPal, it only allows you to specify the weight of the items in the package
in whole numbers of ounces. So, unless you are only shipping large items like
baseplates, it is pretty much impossible to specify the exact package contents
on the customs form.

IDK about it being a"benefit" that I care about. It appears that not enough people
were in a hurry to get instant funds (for a fee payable to PP) vs the standard
free funds transfer so PP decided that it wasn't in their best interest (pun

Funds Now – Important Update

Dear

We hope that you enjoyed the benefits of the Funds Now program but, unfortunately,
we regret to inform you that this program will cease within the next 60 days.

We are continuously evaluating the services we offer and have decided to retire
Funds Now and to replace it with an improved program which will launch in the
near future.

Further details will follow closer to the launch date including the benefits
and eligibility for enrollment.

Thank you for being a valued customer.

Perhaps PayPal is moving towards the Alipay model in which the money isn't
transferred to the seller's account until the buyer confirms that they have
received their goods/services or until a certain amount of time has elapsed.

I've never used a thermal label printer with a Chromebook before, but I found
this article which explains how to set up a Zebra LP-2844 to work with a Chromebook.

https://fulfilledmerchant.com/zebra-lp2844-chromebook-setup/

However, the LP-2844 has been discontinued by Zebra, so you would have to purchase
one on the aftermarket. I'm not sure if there are any other models that work
with a Chromebook.

Studio may have been a worthwhile investment in its own right. Still, that was

If I recall correctly, Studio was released in December 2016, shortly after the
LEGO Group announced that they would stop supporting LEGO Digital Designer in
January 2016, although they have made a few updates since then. However, LDD
doesn't work on more recent versions of macOS, so many have been forced to
switch to Studio. I can't say for sure how many BrickLink sales are generated
in whole or in part by Studio projects, but I can say for sure that many of the
BrickLink orders I place are. But I agree with you in that BrickLink is first
and foremost a LEGO marketplace and that should be its primary focus.

I'm curious why you want to exclude buyers from the UK?
Brexit issues?
There shouldn't be any issues for you. You sell an item and ship. BL takes
care of any taxes.

Just got one order from the UK. We have to join additional vat paperwork in a
clear poach on the envelope/parcel... It's a hassle, I"m not going to buy
new shipping supplies for just one country. I too am thinking of not shipping
to the UK in the future.

I'm confused to why it's a hassle! Printing an extra sheet of paper,
then putting it into a polybag and securing it to a parcel with cellotape. What
extra shipping supplies would you need to purchase? Just think, you will learn
new things about shipping around the world! What are you going to do when the
EU fetch in simular paperwork rules in July? Go with the flow, learn new things!

Mike

They would probably need to purchase invoice pouches, which I don't think
most sellers in North America have. I certainly don't. But they are not expensive
and with the EU following suit in July, it may be a worthwhile investment. It
is certainly not going to stop me from selling to the UK any time soon.

automatically delete zero-quantity stockroom items after a certain number of

In catalog searches? On the wanted list buy page? On most pages, there is an
option to filter the results by geographic region.

I dont want that people from UK can buy in my shop.

Oh, I think you mean "How do I exclude buyers from the UK?" The easiest
way that I can think of to do that would be to check all of your shipping methods
and make sure that the UK is not selected as a destination country for any of
them. You can do that by going to your store settings under the shipping tab
and clicking on each shipping method, then removing the UK from the list of countries
under the "Destination & Base Rate" section.

Alternatively, you could stoplist every single buyer in the UK.

I've seen that message before when trying to copy/move items from one wanted

In catalog searches? On the wanted list buy page? On most pages, there is an

Forgive if this suggestion has already been made. (I've not had much success
using the search function on this site, to see if it has already been suggested.)

It looks like it is a fairly recent feature to be able to put a checkbox on multiple
wanted lists on the left side at https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page
.

I use some of my wanted lists as a sort of recipe of submodules I build. It
would be good if the checkbox could be augmented to be a count or a multiplier.
Imagine looking at a recipe and wanting to double it or triple it. Instead of
just searching the stores for a combination of List A and B and C, could I search
the stores for a combination of 2 copies of list A and 3 copies of list B and
1 of list C, etc.?

Not quite what you're looking for, but you can easily multiply a wanted list
by any positive integer. Select all of the items in your wanted list, click "quantity"
along the top of the page, then choose "multiply quantity" and enter a number,
then click "apply".

How would that be different from having a BL store for each PAB wall out there?

Why not convert every LEGO store into a BrickLink store?

Well, that’s my point because that’s about what this suggestion boils down to:
each PAB becomes a store on BL, a bit special because you only prepare your pick
up list and do the pick up yourself once you’re there… but you don’t pay BL’s
3% and collect VIP points.

I’m sure all the sellers here will be delighted to have TLG spawn BL stores to
compete with theirs….

How about this: A seller near a LEGO store opens a BrickLink store with the contents
of the Pick-A-Brick wall as their inventory. Then, when a buyer places an order
in their store, they go to the LEGO store, collect the parts from the Pick-A-Brick
wall, and ship the order. Could it work?

Oh, wait, there's that bit in the Terms of Service about only selling items
that you have on hand… That's too bad, I live close enough to a LEGO store
to make this work.

high levels of online shopping and thus shipping.

That's a great suggestion, but I think it's a bit beyond the scope of
BrickLink. Although BrickLink is owned by the LEGO Group, BrickLink and TLG are
still separate entities and have separate staff, etc. So, BrickLink would need
data on LEGO Pick-A-Brick walls, which it probably does not have access to. However,
as BrickLink becomes more integrated into the LEGO Group, this may become a possibility.
Better yet, if there was a way to simply check online which parts are on the
Pick-A-Brick wall at a particular store, that would at least partially solve
the problem without asking too much of BrickLink.

In Suggestions, eddieajau writes:
  The Problem:
It currently takes me hours to "plan" my trip to the PAB wall. First, it takes
me a while to research what's on my local wall (which for me is a 6 hour
drive to Auckland), and then it takes some considerable time to match up my Wanted
Lists to what's on the wall. Wouldn't it be great if I can just "hit
a button" and check what's on my local PAB wall that I want? Is it worth
popping into the LEGO store this trip? Wouldn't it be even better if I could
get an email notification that my local PAB has parts I'm interested in?

I could see this feature, which would be a small project in and of itself (in
Scrum speak, this would be the Epic), rolling out in these kinds of steps:

1. Provide a way to submit the local of a PAB for approval to list. (I'm
not sure if all PAB's are LEGO owned or just licensed)
2. Provide a way for either PAB store staff, or community members, to be added
as gardeners of the wall to be able to keep them up to date.
3. The PAB wall is just a register of a part, a colour, a notional quantity(In
Stock|Running Low|Out of Stock), and the date the wall manifest was last updated.
4. When viewing the PAB wall, also show the number of that parts that is on my
wanted list where need qty
5. Add an option to email me when a new item on my wanted list gets listed.

I think this would be a fantastic addition and generate a lot of interest amongst
LUGs as well as generating more interest in BrickLink in general (rather than
it happening off-property on Facebook or other Social Media sites).

I've already written most of the code for this myself (Node.js, SQLite) but
it's extremely cumbersome to keep my wanted lists up to date (would love
a BrickLink API for that). The software itself is not particularly hard to write.

I would be more than happy to code this feature for BrickLink if such a think
was even possible (if so, reach out to me at https://www.linkedin.com/in/andreweddie/).

Thanks in advance for your thoughtful consideration.

Yes, I meant 6x14, not 4x14. I have messaged the original vendor to send the
correct items. I also re-ordered from another one with a note asking to please
send asap.
The state-by-state list is hard to find. I know it's there on the site somewhere,
but when I'm rushing, I can never find it. It doesn't list what town
or city, so it's hard to figure out if it's nearby or a couple of hours
away. And there is no way to cross-reference that with a wanted list, as far
as I can tell.

It's not just you; this site is hard to navigate. Hover over the "Market"
icon on the top of the screen and click "Stores in USA" from the menu that appears.
Yes, there is no way to know where within a state a store is located without
either messaging the seller or placing an order in their store. Some stores also
put their location in their terms or about me page. And yes, there is no way
to cross-reference it with a Wanted List, but at least it's a start. Maybe
someday BrickLink will add the ability to filter by state to the "Buy All" page.

Hello Laura,

I am sorry to hear that you did not receive the correct parts in your order.
If you are really in a hurry for those parts and want to pick them up in person,
you can browse this list of stores by state:

https://www.bricklink.com/browseStores.asp?countryID=US&groupState=Y

And look for stores in Maine and New Hampshire. If you find one that has the
parts you are looking for, it may be worth messaging the seller to ask them where
they are located within the state and if they allow buyers to pick up their order
in person as I know several stores that do not allow buyers to pick up their
order in person. If that does not turn up any results, then it may be worth ordering
the parts from another seller within the USA and asking for expedited shipping.

That is really cool that your son built a LEGO commuter train! I would love to
see photos of it once it is complete (or screenshots from LEGO Digital Designer)
as I am a bit of a train person myself.

As a side note, I don't see 4 x 16 plates anywhere in the catalog:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=2&pg=1&catString=26&catType=P

Do you mean 6 x 16 plates? 4 x 16 plates would be pretty handy, but I'm afraid
they don't exist.

MISB Mint In Sealed Box. Means Mint contents in a sealed box. It does not describe
the box at all.

versus MIMSB Mint in Mint Sealed Box which describes both.

There’s no such thing as MIMSB because you can’t know that the content is Mint
if the box is still Mint.
Or do you consider folded sticker sheets, shortshots, or scratched windscreens
to be Mint?

Congratulations on the green brick!

I have been having issues with my new GPU in regards to rendering, the GPU is
an Nvidia RTX 3070 and is practically brand new along with the computer itself
so I doubt it is a hardware issue.

So I am curious if there is any information regarding this as my Nvidia RTX 1660
was capable of rendering but was becoming increasingly strained due to the intensive
workload.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think will have better luck on the Studio forum: https://forum.bricklink.com/

Any help/pointers would be amazing! Many thanks

  Hello all,

I have updated my Common Tire Sorting Guide:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mfflmbrgrwq660d/LEGO%20Common%20Tire%20Sorting%20Guide%202021.pdf?dl=0

It's meant to help you sort out all those pesky tires quickly and accurately.
Remember to be sure that you print it out actual size if you want to be able
to just line your parts up with the images on the page.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements or notice any
errors that need fixing! If the dropbox download isn't working for you, just
send me a message to get a direct copy.

Take care,
Jen

This is awesome!

Already disappointed and my store is not even open.

Can you change the store status from "closed" to "open"?

I've been shipping international since opening, and for the first time I
had someone pay, but the shipping costs were not automatically calculated. I'm
a US selling, shipping to Europe (which usually costs about $13 to ship). Buyer

I've sent an email explaining to the customer what happened and hoping we
o work something out. For future reference, has this happened to anyone else?

  Hello

I have an order where the buyer ordered Qty 1 of a 1x1 Tan Plate. I have this
plate in my inventory but it is actually Nougat.

How do I remove the item form the order. The order has not been paid yet as it
is an manual invoice and I need to add shipping. Is the easiest way to credit
them the cost of the 1 item and then tell them what happened in an order note?

I imagine I'm not the only one to be aware of this grammar mistake. When
searching a store's inventory, there's a drop-down menu that says "All
Filters." Once it's been expanded, it can be minimized by clicking "Less
Filters."

Properly, in English grammar, when there is a countable noun, we do not use the
quantitative adjective "less". That's flat-out wrong. We must say "fewer".

We can say "less milk," but not "less cookies." We must say "fewer cookies."

I wish that this site would use less cookies.

So here, English grammar demands that we say "Fewer Filters."

I do think that correcting this error will enhance the site's professionalism.

  - Sorting by color is fine up to about 500 parts by color, beyond that sorting
by part is a must, and beyond about 100-200 individual parts, sorting by element
(part + color) becomes unavoidable. Depending on the expected size of your inventory,
plan for more or less bins.
- I reuse the shipping material that people send me through my orders, but I'm
receiving less order than I'm placing so it isn't reliable.
- I don't set a minimum cart total because my shop is tiny.
- BrickStock hasn't been updated lately, but BrickStore is a fork of it and
undergoing development.

Isn't BrickStock actually a fork of BrickStore?

  - I use Rebrickable to inventory my personal collection, but not for the parts
I sell. I recommend BrickStore instead that has a better integration with BrickLink's
selling side.

BrickStore: https://www.brickforge.de/brickstore/

In Help, cycbuild writes:
What is your BrickLink rule of thumb to organizing inventory and pulling orders?

I've heard that sorting by parts not color is a good one. Another is cutting/taping
your own boxes to save on shipping. And a lot of pros and cons to setting a minimum
price/lots. My sub-query would be; are there any slow sellers that you
leave in the odd parts bin, or push to the end of the queue (of listing parts)?
Lastly, is BrickStock worth it or is Rebrickable a nice alternative?

Thanks,
cycbuild
