I did the same research in the past and would like to help, but can't see
your items (resolution is low). I advise you redo the pics.

For reference, my uneducated eyes, not aware of any legoid, will say:

Brass:
- light brass: small sword
- dark brass: mask

Copper:
- copper: big sword

bronze:
- bronze: mask, dome.
- freshly cast bronze: axe head

Before venturing in selling it, first thing to do is a deep inspection with magnifier/microscope/light
etc

If it happens that the part ID is for 16x16 baseplate, it would be a complete
different case, don't you think?

Better yet, what if it's an unknown ID?

Can I sell this item on Bricklink?

Since authenticity isn't discussed, I find it plausible that a defective

Maybe I have something stashed away that people really want. Also, it would
be nice to filter the list to average price or category. I probably don't
need to know that black technic pins are on 581291 Wanted Lists.

Does this feature already exist?

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogStatsWanted.asp?itemType=P

Limited to one page.

Oh my.

Who adds any more black technic pin in his lists?

Don't everyone here have thousands already?

I suspect this is skewed by inventories imported into wantedlists, where the
most common parts always show up.

I would love to see a list of parts "added by human hand" imho.
Better, a list of human-parts which are not fullfilled yet, e.g. are picked up
by the search engine everyday.

With the "apply order" button you see a table with proposed amounts to add

It's not easy to spot things that overflow. This is what the OP is finding
out I think.

I prefer to NOT HAVE an automatic overflow mechanism as the OP posted, I fear
I can't control it. I still prefer to see what happens and write down notes.

I dunno if they can highlight in yellow/red/orange when the amounts are inequal.
This could be informative and yet adaptable to user's habits.

You're basically asking to have a "negative" wantlist: when you're buying
X bricks, but have Y of them, you'll like to buy just (X-Y).

Kinda of selecting 2 wantlists in "Buy" page, but the second substracts from
the first.

Or applying a wantlist on another list, to raise the qty on the items or, as
in your case, having negatives in mind, you'll diminish the qty.

I haven't found a way to do that in months... so probably it doesnt exist
at all.

To my eye it's COOL SILVER (id 296), but better, left out that _pearl effect_
with which it was made years ago. At that time, a Cool Silver part was right
in the middle between LBG and VeryLBG.

OK This is the 4th case since January.
Who know, maybe they liked it in the factory =)

I'd get one for my collection indeed.
I'd like this serempiditous error makes it into *real* production.

Can we can legally start a new name for that nice gray?

Update:
Many of my measurements got rejected
Is it because of fractions? (0.5 0.66 ..)
My example was:

*
44567b Hinge Plate 1 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger on Side without Bottom Groove

Ok I tested it for a bit. I added 20 things, bricks from disparate themes, even
a power transformator id 70928.
I think the new page is good. I can add stud- and packing-dimensions at the same
time. There is some error checking on our measures, preventing blunders. Zero
is allowed, we can use that with multiple meanings, better to give us guidance
maybe?

We disperately need the search engine now.
I spent hundreds of clicks just to find parts needing a caliper job. I won't
do that again (note: I'm not seller so can't fiddle with that famous
flag)

can someone help with identifying the color

the other colors on the picture are reddish brown (left crate) medium nougat
(right crate) and dark orange (slope)

Is that a sprue mark (pip) on the long side of that brick? AFAIK a Lego brick
would have one on the short side (old) or on the top (newer)

Good catch. The pip is misplaced and unesthetical, Lego won't do that.
We also know that non-Lego can't even clone a color right.

Simply said, we don't know any LBG 731 made with old "normal spring".

Also my eyes perceive old gray, so I needed you to state what colours are there.

I'm here to help, just give us more data of them

all LBG are soft.
all sets after 2003 are soft
all sets before 1997 are normal

they all seems normal to my eys

data:
soft = can sustain MORE than 600g
normal = can sustain LESS than 550g
yo, soft can hold more.

Do Lego left Polycarbonate for new plastic?

  Hi all!

I'm inventorying

Set No: 76175 Name: Attack on the Spider Lair
*
76175-1 (Inv) Attack on the Spider Lair
437 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2021
Sets: Super Heroes: Spider-Man

This is the first time that happen to me this fact.
In the instructions there are showed 18x Tile Round 1x1 in Trans Yellow but checking
better you can see how 16 of 18 are completely different from the standard Trans
Yellow.

In my picture you can see:

1) Slopes and plates in trans yellow
2) a group of tiles where the first two are trans yellow and below there are
two plate in Trans Neon Green for comparision.

I think that it could be probably due to a different composition of the material
but how I can consider them in the inventory...and most of all, in the shop?

Cheers,
Mirko

strong agree:
- rename Liftarm to Beam
- create new Technic, Bush.
- Curve at root level. then move Slope,Curved-there

agree:
- we have Technic, Steering. Cars are more than steering. new Technic, Engine;
new Technic, Suspensions (absorbs shock absorbers. pun intended) alternative:
new Technic, Automotive (all in 1). would get also the shifting.

so-so:
- new Technic, Bucket. that group is slated to grow forever. now is 17
- move various turntables to a new Technic, Gear, Turntables.

disagree:
- leved down Brick, Wedge. I still prefer Wedges at root.

I propose we spell 'em backwards, as they have backward-compatibility

Yrag thgil (until 2003)
Yrag krad (ultil 2003)

I was not fully aware of the problems that might arise. So I sincerely welcome
your input.
The shorthands could be many more, not just lbg, it could be hard to decide how
far to go with them.
The substitution method? I was suggesting one can substitute entire phrases to
catch Lego-sanctioned names, traduce to BL, and go. BRICK YELLOW means Tan in
the end, but hey it uses both YELLOW and BRICK, words with a meaning, we must
ingest it, but we already know that such search will fail (try it) so uhm...
let's rewrite it to Tan and hope the search ends with what a user wants.
A bit like google autocorrect. Probably not good on BL, plus the bad example.
End.
For the names-switch I was thinking of NOT changing db and the like, just rewrite
words in the page when it is showed to us. No need to change the engine. Just
like sites in multiple languages, they seem to replace text with other text,
not changing what the site does.
In conclusion I was not thinking enough, i'm sorry I haven't advanced
any good contributions

I don't support any change. Because BL names are known more than others.
Lbg and Dbg are everywhere, posted on forums, flickr, instagram, Billund bathrooms,
...

Any change will break more than heal. We are 1:1 with rebrickable.com, they copied
from BL names (https://rebrickable.com/colors/). I dont wanna lose that, I believe
it makes everyone happy to use 2 sites without silly translations. In the web,
the current bricklink=rebrickable is a powerhouse.

Some ideas to soften up the color mayhem:
- implement expansions. let us input "lbg brick 2×4" in the search field, the
server rightfully rewrites lbg=light bluish gray and goes.
- implement substitutions. Let the user input "brick yellow", the server rewrites
"brick yellow"=tan
- let the user switch between appearances. If the user can choose (in the settings)
if they want to see BL names, Lego id, Lego official names, etc

Still, Jamie's bond is a phisical one, e.g. high friction. no chemistry.

Depends what you call a “physical bond.”  There are stronger chemical bonds (covalence…)
and weaker ones (Van der Waals…).
Here, it’s not only (static) friction, it’s adhesion.

And a chemist would say everything is chemistry https://xkcd.com/435/

I'm still puzzled in someone can make chemical bonds by hard-pressing 2 pieces
together... that would be new to me.

Never heard about cold welding?
(Not what happens here but it’s “creating a chemical bond by hard-pressing two
pieces together” )

1. I have never heard about these chemical reactions. Who knows more about it?

2. sooo... Is it illegal to mount a trans-clear brick over a trans-red one? Does
it depends on the specific trans* color?

Just recently LEGO has changed the type of plastic used for transparent bricks;
with this new type the problem does not occur anymore.

Stud on antistud generally is not a problem, as there is little contact surface.
So you can 'legally' stack two transparent bricks or plates together.
They might want to fuse, but I've not seen these to be too hard to detach.

What you should not do, is to insert a transparent bar in a transparent cone.
They fuse together rather soon.

The only hazard would be that you can't detach the bricks anymore. So feel
free to do whatever your fantasy leads you to. Only if you are making a professional
design for others to build, you should think of these issues of what is 'legal'.

And if you want to know WHY (some of)¹ the builds in the post your refer are
illegal, search for Jamie Berard’s presentation “Stressing the Elements.”

(¹ Not all are illegal, some are just flimsy, some are totally legal.)

Set No: 21005 Name: Fallingwater

So the tran-clear plates (see the water) are now bonded together?
After 11 years, someone should verify...
