Source: Sealed set parted out. Current source of inventory is unknown, only one verification in 2005, before part 32064c was identified. I therefore delete certain variants that can be added later if they show up. If part 4032/4032b was never properly split, this set may never have come with part 4032.

How can you see that it's [P=32064b,7] and not?

| | The extra yellow plate 1x2, however, should be in the regular items section.
It is needed to build the seaplane model on pages 21-28 and the inventory data
from LEGO.com confirm that there should be four of this part in the set. I fixed
this.

Thanks, I had one noticed one was written as extra. I only took note of the grille
tile that I didn't have 1 extra of.

I bought a used set along with a lot of other modern (1990) sets. The seller
is not 100% sure about the history of this set, so I have no definite proof of
the content being original. But the set came with box and contained all 8 flags,
one unfortunately broken, the rest in near-mint condition.

I don't see any reason why not; plenty of promotional sets are sold here
on BrickLink. You'll need to create a catalog entry for it first, though.
|
Yes, the catalog, that's the only thing I'm interested in. I don't
think she plans on selling the set. Because the set doesn't come with building
instructions, I don't believe it's actually worth much (it's just
standard bricks in a standard LEGO zip-lock bag).
Actually, I've found out that there is more than this single promotional
set from the events. There seems to be at least 4 others. I'll dig into it
and try to get my hands on some details.

As I always do, I double check my inventories when I part out the sets afterwards. How this color ended up DBG in the inventory I don't know. It might have been from the data that BrickLink supplied, because I didn't change it. I fixed only variants and added extras and counterparts, no changes to colors or numbers. Or someone changed it while the inventory was in limbo.
|
The PCC 6347704 is listed for dark bluish gray in the Bricklink catalog but should
be light bluish gray. I have submitted a request to remove that PCC from dark
bluish gray. It should ne added to light bluish gray after that request is accepted.
|
That is strange. Where did that PCC come from? It was automatically filled out
by BL, and apparently I didn't notice the wrong color.
4211529 is the PCC listed in the instructions, and that points to LBG which is
correct. So the PCC for DBG was right all along?

1) I can not offer to submit a picture of the assembled set as I need the parts
in condition "new". Instead, I'll submit photo of the sealed (poly)bags and
their contents sorted roughly by the steps in the instructions.
2) This gear has an "instructions" entry, but my set had no instructions in the

as counterparts?

very much in doubt about some of them. I seem to have three different spring
sizes (see image), but BL requires them to be either "soft" or "normal". So
I guess the ones on the left are "soft" and the ones on the right are "normal",
but what about the ones in the middle? Juding by the number of winds visible
they seems to be somewhere in between.
Help is appreciated.

Well, we know that there is no (official) correct way to apply the sticker because
the instructions don't show the sticker size correctly.
So now that I'm thinking of it, I'm not sure that we can conclude that
this sticker should be applied to two 2x2 bricks the way it was done on the part
I found (that I now created as a stickered assembly in the catalog).
The sticker could also be applied to one 2x2 brick and the printed tile on top
of the brick, or maybe on all three parts together. So maybe assemblies for those
two variations also should be created if someone has them. Thoughts?

| I'm sitting with something that looks like part in my hands.
The sticker on these bricks is clearly too large to fit on one brick. So does
this sticker exist in different sizes or is the current part image showing a
cut sticker? Should this part be retired and an assembly be made instead?
Note that I've found parts [P=3068bp65] and in the same lot
of bricks, so I'd say there's virtually no chance that the stove sticker
didn't come from set .

Look at the sticker sheet and the instructions and photos for this set. There is only ONE set of stickers with the 3 yellow cloves. This item (purple) needs to be deleted. The part number "3846pb11eu" should be merged into the correct one 3846pb11.

OK DBG 93, 93 (currently 93) - regular LEGO bag
OK Sand Blue: 24, 24 (currently 24) - regular LEGO bag
OK White: 62, 62 (currently 62) - regular LEGO bag
OK LBG 32, 32 (currently 32) - regular LEGO bag
+0 Black: 483, 483 (currently 487)
+14 Dark Blue: 546, 542 (currently 532)
+5 Dark Brown: 205, 201 (currently 200)
+9 Dark Orange: 176, 169 (currently 167)
+4 Dark Red: 220, 219 (currently 216)
+1 Dark Tan: 99, 98 (currently 98)
+7 Medium Nougat: 216, 216 (currently 209)
+5 Pearl Gold: 242, 239 (currently 237)
+7 Red: 294(!), 317 (currently 310)
+3 Reddish Brown: 198, 197 (currently 195)
+7 Tan: 164, 168 (currently 161)
Yes, one set actually had too few red parts in it! All bags with varying contents
have different look that the ones usually used by LEGO, so I suspect these parts
were counted by different machinery than usual.

I'm looking into buying a lot of old doors and windows for slotted bricks.
A few of the parts are clearly because I can see the LEGO logo
in the glass. But the others I'm unsure about. Especially one door (image#1)
has one side without pattern and a hole through it, and three red windows (image#2)
have glass which I belive they shouldn't have.
I've attached four images that show some of the parts in the lot.
Are there any experts in here that are able to judge if the parts appear to be
genuine LEGO parts?

| Hello
I've just added part to the catalog. I suspect it came
in set like the other localized fire station prints. But that inventory
makes me question the existence of some of the bricks in it. Facts:
1) This set was released in 1958. It's unknown to me for how long it was
produced.
2) Part 3008 has first appearance in 1961.
3) All the 1x8 (and 1x6) bricks without print in the set are without bottom tubes,
i.e. NOT 3008.
4) The inventory states 4 different 3008 bricks with print, the others are based
on bricks without bottom tubes.
That leaves me with this question: Do parts
[P=3008pb074]
[P=3008pb085]
actually exist?
These parts only come in this set and other sets produced in 1957/1958. I suspect
that they're actually cross support versions, not printed 3008's. Most
of the pictures on the parts don't show the bottoms, so I can't prove
this. BUT: The image of
[P=3008pb085]
shows the bottom, and no bottom tubes are visible. Also, there is a slight irregularity
in the bottom of the brick in the right side, which are often found in the cross
support bricks. See example image below.
I suggest that the 3008 parts mentioned above (or at least the "POMPIERI" version)
are marked for deletion until someone can proove that they exist and upload new
pictures showing the bottom.
Any thoughts on this?

The inventory source for this set still states "unknown". Should this not be

Could these changes be relevant to set as well? The source of that
inventory is also "unknown" and is IMHO therefore less reliable than this sealed
set. Yes, it is a different set number, but it's the same set produced in
the same year, although for different markets.

Thank you for the input. I've suggested the same change to part
now. It doesn't appear brown either.
Also, I see no reason to keep the two primary images for part .
I can't distinguish that part from the red pattern version by using those
images. The color difference is clearer when comparing against my two images
that were added. But it'll have to be an admin's decision.

No, that would be a huge project to do, so I am not going to do that.

I just parted out this set (again), but this time found an odd number of parts: 42x part 6536 in DBG and 9x part 32013 in DBG. The instructions still lists 40 and 8, so the remaining 2 and 1 parts must be extra. Also, 630 pins in total (7 extra), counted three times. Image will be posted as a follow-up to this.

fake or a paintjob. It is an old type brick, without the logo on the studs. Is
this brick known, and is there a separate catalogue entry for it? Are there any
other colours known for the text automatiek? Can you help me with these questions?

Many of these vintage parts come with text in different colors, and I have added
more than one of these vintage, printed parts that was missing in the catalogue.
I see no reason to think it's fake. Maybe the logo is inside the brick? Some

| | My initial thought here from this picture in the post I'm replying to and
the comparison you posted up the thread is that none of these are the 'red'
version but just slightly different versions of the brown version.
|
The images I have provided are from my scanner which is the only way I can get
an image of multiple heads in consistent lighting and without flash highlights.
They may appear dark, but I'm convinced that the images I have provided (except
for the left image in the comparison) are in fact red, not brown. In daylight,
they look very red to me.
Here's a photo of one of the five heads taken by my mobile phone, original
and aa very brightened version.

Your head seems to show a true brown color for that part. I'm not convinced
that this is the case for the parts were discussing, but I would be very interested

Also, I find it hard to believe that the brown version comes in 12 minifigs but
the red only in 2. My spare parts that I have gotten from random assortment of
bricks have 5 red pattern variants with torsos that match the minifigures with
this head and only one brown pattern variant with no torsos that matches any
minifigs with that head. This might be a conincidence, but I dare to mention
it.

1) I belive that the first two pictures shown for part 3626bpb0025 are in fact
the red version, i.e. wrong. Please remove them. The third image has a darker
pattern and may be the correct one, but it's very small and with black background
which may make comparison with the other part harder (that part is photographed
on a white background).
2) I'll upload new images for both parts with consistent lighting, and I'll
upload a comparison image as well. In fact, I stronly urge you to delete all
previous images -- they're either wrong, tiny or with bad lighting.
3) I'll suggest a change of the title for 3626bpb0025 (Brown pattern) to
change the color of the pattern to "Dark Red". IMHO, it's clearly not brown,
but a darker shade of red. If this is not accepted, please consider writing a
note on the parts about the shades of red instead.
4) I'll add a "Same Items with Different Pattern Style" relationship between
the two parts.
Hopefully this will make the difference between these two parts clearer, because
I don't think it is now.
/Jan
|
BTW - I may have totally misunderstood this, because my two parts don't show
that only the moustache has the changed color (the BL images also don't show
this). So I believe it's the whole pattern that has a different color. Otherwise,
all the points above are not valid and all my requests and new images should
be rejected. Please share thoughts on this.

Old versions (possibly from the 70's) of this part has a round hole, never

| I have a few notes regarding plates and tiles with changes to the number or
position of studs. Currently, such parts are categorized as either "Plate, Modified",
"Tile, Round" or "Tile, Modified" (this list may be not be complete). I would
very much like to see them in the same category and with a similar naming.
Example:
is categorized as "Plate, Modified".
is categorized as "Tile, Round".
Both of these parts expose the same behavior as because they all offset
their stud by 1/2L in one or more dimensions, i.e. in my opinion they are all
"jumpers". The only difference between the first two parts above is their basic
shape, so why are some jumpers plates and other jumpers tiles?
All the above mentioned parts have fewer studs that their basic plate versions.
As such, they could be viewed as modified plates. On the other hand, basic plates
have solid studs. These parts have hollow studs, so I believe they could be also
(and should be) considered as modified tiles.
Opinions are expected.
