On the My Inventory page you can chech Items on my Wantlist between the Search
options on the right.

Great, thank you! Is there a way to sort the results for a certain wanted list?

Suggestion in regards to automatic quote cancellations:

I've never received a quote cancellation myself, but assuming it doesn't
already say so, it would be beneficial that when a quote cancellation is automatically
sent by the BrickLink system due to an item being sold out, that an automated
message to the buyer is sent out and indicating which item caused the quote cancellation
trigger.

I just received yet another message from a newer buyer asking why their quote
was cancelled and they wanted to accept it. To the buyer, it looks like sellers
are cancelling their quotes, when it's simply that a part that they ordered
is no longer available.

This would be a great addition! We receive the occasional message asking why
their quote was canceled. It would be a small yet efficient change to how the
quote process works.

Thanks!

You could list them as separate lots and leave a note in the comments field that
indicates whether it is the old or the new dark red.

+1

I have a few listings where I fell the blue parts a I have are "brittle blue"
so I just duped the listing, and put a note in there that I suspect them to be
brittle blue. Then you just need to keep them separate in your storage.

Thank you for the help! I decided to add to a new lot for each kind; I just hope
it makes sense to buyers who might be in search of a "Dark Red" part, and may
not know the difference, leading to a not very happy buyer.
Thanks!

  Hi all!

We are always adding parts to our store, and currently have a sale going on almost
all parts.

However, there are a few specific items that we don't want out sale to apply
for (Sets, minifigures, and some hard to find parts). After each session of adding
parts, we have to go through and check all of the category boxes, and then uncheck
the sets and minifigures. But for parts, they are usually in one of the categories
that get checked, and put on sale. Because of this, we then have to go and manually
remove the sale for that item, along with the rest of the parts that we don't
want on sale.

Is there someway to avoid the hassle of changing them back manually? Maybe some
way to lock the price, or make it so that the sales never apply to it?

Thanks!
~Brick Brothers

Put something in the remarks like nosale. Put everything on sale, then immediately
set sale to 0% off for any item with nosale in the remarks.

For some reason, I cant seem to get that to work. How exactly do you change that.
Just in case im doing it wrong

Are you using the box that is something like change only parts that have nosale
somewhere in the remarks.

I added NOSALE to one of our items, along with its location in our drawers, and
set the sale to 10% off. When I click the submit changes button, it doesnt make
any change to the price.

In the second image (lower section), in the first drop down list, select "update
my whole inventory".

That worked! Thank you for the help!

Everything matters to someone. Most mold variations are of no interest to most
buyers. Sometimes, however, the restoration of an old set requires parts from
that era's molds. And, rarely, a builder will create something that requires
one of several variations.

Many stores selling used parts include a disclaimer about this. It is very time
consuming to keep on top of all the variations out there, let alone sort them.

Got it. Thats really helpful! So you you just recommend that I put something
about it somewhere in my terms, and then add/store them all as if they were the
same?
Thanks!

For mold variations that are not visible, your proposal is a good option.

For mold variations that are visible, the part is often assigned a different
part "number" for each variation. If you see a part "number" with a letter at
the end, that is what is happening. The Bricklink notes about the part will
discuss its variations.

The different treatment reflects the generally higher importance most buyers
assign to the (sometimes minor) visual differences. Since you will not want
to offer one variant for sale and then deliver a different one, you need to pay
attention to the differences identified in the catalog when you list what you
have.

I always check to see if a part has multiple catalog entries, with minor differences,
but the slight difference in the underside of the bricks is what confused me.
Thanks again!

So as a general rule of thumb, if someone ordered 10 1x8 red plates, and 3 of
them had the bottom circles filled, would i hear about it from the buyer? Just
want to make sure that im not doing anything that could make buyers unhappy
Thanks!

Well, if you are specialized in period-accurate parts, you should be very precise.
Otherwise, some buyers may want to have all their parts with the same underside
but as the catalogue doesn’t differentiate these variants, I’d say they should
ask first.
It also depends on how you’re organized and how difficult it would be for you
(for not much profit) but you could try to fill each order with the same variant.

On the other hand, there have been a couple of posts on the forum from sellers
whose buyers thought some were fake parts.
But I guess even if you put a lot of warnings in your ToS and descriptions, there
will always be people who just don’t know.

Gotcha, thank you for the help!

You can mix them or separate them.  And you can put a note in the description
or not.  Your choices.

Many parts now have a note in the catalogue about these slight, unrecognized
differences.
